Ep. 76 Between Reality and Mystery: Psychic/Medium Stacey Lynne

John Olson Episode 76

When does intuition cross the line into the paranormal? This question forms the backdrop of a meandering yet fascinating conversation that begins with a reflection on last week's pet psychic readings. The hosts analyze what made those readings compelling, with John noting both the accurate insights and the moments of ambiguity, striking a balance between appreciation and healthy skepticism.

The episode takes a delightful detour into wedding planning territory as John recounts his attempts to set a date with his fiancée (the "Queen Consort"). His month-by-month elimination process becomes increasingly hilarious as each potential wedding month collides with some existing commitment - birthdays, holidays, graduations, previous marriage dates, or family gatherings. The resulting calendar gridlock presents a situation many couples will recognize: the perfect date simply doesn't exist. October's connection to John's previous marriage creates particular complications, including a humorous suggestion about repurposing a tattoo that doesn't go over well with the bride-to-be.

Between Top Gun references and playful banter, the hosts circle back to the nature of intuition itself, particularly questioning whether "women's intuition" represents something genuinely paranormal or simply a different type of perception. This thoughtful exploration of how we categorize unexplained abilities reflects the podcast's willingness to entertain possibilities without abandoning critical thinking.

Speaker 1:

Thanks for watching what's going on. This is scolarius, I am john olsen and with me, as always, is dw. The deserted wall burger serene deserted wall makes no sense but hey, dw let's go to my store and let's have a burger oh gosh, don't do 12 seconds into it no, no enough.

Speaker 2:

That's worse than any other impression it was not that bad yeah all, it's actually a good segue. Hey, you know what? Huh? I don't know. I was just trying to change the subject from your bad impression.

Speaker 3:

All right.

Speaker 2:

So I've got a Baja Blast Punch today. I've got a few more of these hard Mountain Dews to finish up before I can, and then I've got I think I've got one or two more of the Not your Dad's Rope Beer, and you've got your Diet Coke, I think it is.

Speaker 1:

That I do. Yeah, it's a Diet Coke, because I'm still not doing the weed drinks.

Speaker 2:

Which is good.

Speaker 1:

It is. I have ingested, don't think I did. And and again, we are playing the game. When will it kick in anyways? So hold on, I gotta take a chug okay, what?

Speaker 2:

what is it that's burning on your mind right now?

Speaker 1:

oh, not a lot. No, well, I mean not a lot, but also a lot. Uh, dw, last week we it was basically your show, right, essentially well, yeah, it was.

Speaker 2:

It was probably no offense to our guests this week or any other weeks, but it was probably the show I was looking forward to the most because I knew it was going to be a reading for posy and for pumpkin and she, uh well, and in a way I kind of had to lead it because she's asking me the question, so I had to address them. So in a way I kind of had to, you know, to pilot that plane type of thing Okay.

Speaker 2:

But I was excited for it and I'll say so. She got a lot right. There's a lot of things that even she agreed she couldn't determine. Like there were some things. I asked her is this what you were talking about? And she said I'm not sure you know. And nothing against her. Even she admitted that she wasn't 100 percent on that and some things that you know were kind of like.

Speaker 2:

She brought up October as being a significant month. But you've got a one in 12, 12 chance of saying such and such is a significant month, but you've got a 1 in 12 12 chance of saying such and such is a significant month and I could find something that's significant with that month. So I'm not I'm not trying to discredit it at all, but it's kind of I I was, I kept pressing her for like you got to give me more because, yes, there's stuff in october, but I I wish I knew more of what it was you're you're driving at. So now, that being said, she got a lot of things right. She did a lot of things right and we didn't talk beforehand. I tried, I tried very carefully not to give her any clues or lead her in any way, and she did get a lot of things right and this is over zoom.

Speaker 1:

So I mean this is not, like we're not in the same room, she's not reading anything off of you, like there's nothing whatever. So I mean, like this is legit, like we, this is how things go. But dw, listen, hear me out. Maverick's gonna take control of the plane again today. Okay, you be goose.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I promise no, no, no, no, no, you're not hitting the canopy buddy I got you.

Speaker 1:

You're right here, no you're right here, but I'll be rooster rooster makes it. No, okay, in fact rooster saves maverick, so that's kind of a little bit more fittings, because I often save you, so it's all right, but just yeah, I, I'm gonna, I'm not doing it, I'm taking the reins and we're gonna do this, this whole show thing, the way that that I usually do it, and we're gonna do it that way.

Speaker 2:

Anyway, it doesn't matter, you know and you're off to a fantastic start. By the way, I usually I usually am.

Speaker 1:

So, with that being said, you were talking about 1 in 12 chance of getting a month, right. Well, dw, I know that you're married. You know I'm going to be getting married at some point. So I actually brought it up to the queen consort like, hey, you want to maybe set a date, yeah, and what'd she say? Well, this is where it got complicated. You said 1 and 12, okay. So we went through this and I was like, oh, guess what baby next year, halloween is on a saturday, right, that'd be perfect.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean but then I started thinking oh no, I got married in october to my first wife, so we got it, that one's gone.

Speaker 2:

We can't do that, oh, so you want something else.

Speaker 1:

So. So then I I went back and I went through all the months. I'm like, well, january, we can't do it because that's her birthday, you know can't take away from her birthday february.

Speaker 1:

We can't do it because what I mean that's valentine's day. You can't really do. You know what I mean. I don't want to share. I don't want to share a wedding date with Valentine's Day because, like you know, whatever, march, we can't really do March because March, my daughter's birthday is in March and I think, like, take it away from her.

Speaker 1:

And then we went to April and I'm like, well, april, who knows what's going on? It could be Easter one year, it could be, you know whatever. And I'm like, yeah, you know, you know, like how are we going to get everybody together and eat, you know, in april? And you know it could be cold out, you know. And then we're like may, maybe we could try may. Like well, well, no, for the next like four years we're gonna have graduations in may, so we can't really do that. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

And then june we're thinking like maybe june, june, possibly somewhere around there, uh, and that one was kind of like sitting there and then we went like, well, maybe july. But like, yeah, we can't do july, because that's her son's birthday's in july, we can't. And then, and then we're like, okay, august is a possibility, maybe, right, maybe. And then we're like, well, we could go to september. But then no, no, no, I have a birthday in september, I have other birthdays in September, and then everybody gets married in September. And then obviously we went back to October and went, nope, that's not happening. And then we're like, okay, maybe.

Speaker 2:

So you're just not going to get married, you're like, screw it.

Speaker 1:

We're just thinking like maybe November? And they're like, yeah, well, you know, then we're getting into the holiday season. You know Thanksgiving's in Novembermber, you can't really like share with that, but it's a really good time to get all the family together, but also, at the same time, you don't want all your family together all the time, so you don't want two events in in november, right, and then the same for december. So then we're back to like maybe, maybe it's june or august. Now we have to decide what year because, like I said, there's like four or five graduations in a row. That's gonna be hard and and money consuming, you know. You know, like her son and then my son and then her daughter, and then maybe skip a year and then my youngest daughter. See what I mean. There's like, oh, wow, so many life events dw so yeah, yeah, yeah, here's the thing.

Speaker 1:

That was a really long way of saying, like I mentioned it then we didn't do anything about it at that point.

Speaker 2:

So a couple of things I'll say. First off, my brother got married in the fall. He got married in November. Okay, ended up being a nice day. November is still. There's a good chance you might have good weather. It's probably going to be fall in terms of like leaves changing and probably fall. So nice pictures, stuff like that november fall not necessarily a bad idea. Here's the other thing just because thanksgiving is in november, you don't have to count out the entire month. You could do earlier in in November and then you're not going to run into Thanksgiving all the time.

Speaker 1:

Maybe that's true. But you know, I don't know, I was just thinking of different things. Same thing with like Halloween, even though Halloween's the 31st, you could still I have a tattoo on my arm that has the name on it and she's like why don't you just change the name on there and we make a difference?

Speaker 2:

I like, come on, I like she was a tattoo of the your wedding date of my ex-wife yeah, her name.

Speaker 1:

So okay. So to save to.

Speaker 2:

To save money, you can keep the same date and then just change the name.

Speaker 1:

That's what she said too and that she was saying it. She didn't like that. But no, that's not the way, not doing that. If anything, I'll just Like we'll just exit out and then put her name over it. It would say Queen Consort, and then we'll just exit out the date and then put the other date underneath.

Speaker 2:

We'll make it real white trashy, like you know, or you could do an end date Like it's someone's life. So October 1st through this date, because that's when the divorce was final, and then below that. So you have like.

Speaker 1:

I don't know what you want to call it round two Ironically enough, the divorce is final 21 years to the day, so kind of weird, huh yeah yeah, talk about the universe saying like, yeah, maybe we should move on anywhere.

Speaker 3:

Um, all right speaking of that, we're gonna move on to something here real quick.

Speaker 1:

like you know, I'm assuming that there are people out there like, oh, that's hilarious, we like you guys and everything. And if it, if you do, if you do like us, you're probably sitting there wondering, like what are they doing? You know, like what are they doing? Is DW playing with Posey? I don't know. Is John walking somewhere? Most likely, I have no idea. It doesn't matter what you think we're doing, you can just try to find out what we're doing. And the way you can do that is you can find us and you can find DW, dw Serene Comedian on Facebook. You can find me at John Olson Comedian 2.0 on Facebook. You can find us both together on Facebook.

Speaker 2:

We're not a couple.

Speaker 1:

No, we're not a couple. But you can find us at the Scolarius page Also, if you wanted to, you can email us at scolariaspod at gmailcom. We also have a TikTok page. You know I try to TikTok but that's for those Gen Zers and whatnot. They all do the TikTok-y thing. I'm an Xer baby. If TikTok used VHS tapes I would be banging on that shit. But it's not how that works. But you know we do have a tiktok page. It's scolarius eight. We also have instagram, right, it's it's called guess what, guess what it's called.

Speaker 2:

Guess what it's called uh, uh uh, scolarius, it's just called scolarius dw.

Speaker 1:

You know like you should know this by now we've been doing this for like 78 episodes, for the love of God, all right. Also, if you wanted to, if you wanted to, you could go back and listen to every single episode we just talked like. It's like 78. It's actually more than that with the bonus episodes, but it doesn't matter. Like a lot of episodes at ScalariusPodBuzzsproutcom. Did you hear that? I did that perfectly that time. I didn't even stutter whatsoever. Did you say?

Speaker 2:

perfectly.

Speaker 1:

I did Perfectly.

Speaker 2:

No, you said perfectly.

Speaker 1:

Wow, it was chef's kiss, that's how that went.

Speaker 2:

You said the phrase perfectly, but then screwed up the word perfectly.

Speaker 1:

No, I didn't, I said perfectly.

Speaker 2:

We'll go back and look at the tape no, we're not going.

Speaker 1:

You know we don't edit this, it doesn't matter, listen, okay. So all that stuff, you knew you knew where to find us. But I'm assuming if you know where to find us, you're gonna be like oh man, you know we, we need some sclerius gear and you know where you can get that. Dw. Yep, where, where do you get that? You're not helping, it's not visual, I don't. I don't tell mr ro A. Mr Rogers episode. Yes, sir, and then nothing else happens for the whole freaking show Anyway.

Speaker 2:

All right. So rather than tell people the whole website, I just say go to Crowdmade and search for Sclerius. Rather than say Crowdmade, slash this, slash whatever, just go to Crowdmade and look for Sclerius.

Speaker 1:

Okay, do it the easy way, that's fine. But go there and you could get a whole bunch of stuff, like we have hats, we have mugs, we have phone cases for both an iphone and a samsung. Yeah, if whatever you want, if you want a case that says sclariates on it, you could do that. Also, we have really cool t-shirts. Yeah, we had t-shirts. Uh, like my favorite t-shirt. It says uh, here's the thing, because that's what dw says like all the time. That's one of my favorites. And then also, you know the, the really cool t-shirt that says you can find this together.

Speaker 2:

But and on the other side it says we're not we're not a couple, that's right.

Speaker 1:

You can find that one right there at crowdmadecom. Forward slash collections for slash scolarius pod see that's where you did that perfectly.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I did it, perfectly, perfectly, I did that either way. Go to crowdmadecom, search scolarius pod, and you will find all of our really cool gear. And then, hey, the one, the one t-shirt you should get it says I have no idea who john olsen is, because even though I'm the one who, like, gathers the gas, I round them all up, I round the guests up, and then we bring them on and we say, hey, we have a great old time, for like sometimes an hour and a half, sometimes like three hours of one time it would happen. But either way, we do all that. And then we get to the end and we ask a certain question and they're like I don't know who John Olsen is. So blah, blah, blah. So anyway, anyway, just get the shirts, just go there and get them. It's crowdmadecom forward slash collections, forward slash sclarus pod. Or just go to crowdmade and put in sclarus pod and you can get all that stuff.

Speaker 1:

All right, sound good good, yeah, okay so, since we've been like dabbling in the, um, you know, psychic medium type stuff we've had, we've had a few, we've had a few psychic mediums on here. Uh, we, we had a pet psychic on here twice, same one, but still and in last week you know she was she did some really cool readings of of the hell hounds, of serene manner and yeah, she did really well. So this week we're just going to chat it up with another psychic medium. Oh, women's intuition. Is it women's intuition or is it more close to psychic ability or whatever else?

Speaker 3:

And men, Older and there are times where your perception and your intuition is sharper than it. It's not, but I just think that, uh, I mean it's considered paranormal. Do I believe it is? No because I don't view it that way. I view it as your guys mean.
