Ever wondered what makes someone believe in ghosts while others remain skeptical? In this candid, unscripted conversation, host John welcomes comedian Zach Scharf for a revealing look at the paranormal world through fresh eyes.
The pair dive deep into what sparks supernatural curiosity, with Zach sharing how his paranormal journey began with watching Ghost Adventures as a youngster. Meanwhile, John explains how growing up in a haunted house fundamentally shaped his perspective on the unexplained. Their exchange highlights a fascinating pattern: almost everyone who believes in the paranormal had some ghostly encounter during childhood.
Between laughs and personal stories, they explore captivating theories like whether nuclear energy might amplify paranormal activity – a casual observation that sparked international interest from listeners. The conversation winds through a tour of favorite Scalarius episodes, with surprising consensus that the Haunted Disneyland episode tops the list for its scandalous revelations and exclusive stories from someone with direct connections to Walt Disney himself.
The chemistry between John and Zach creates an accessible entry point for paranormal newcomers while offering entertaining insights for longtime supernatural enthusiasts. Their back-and-forth banter touches on everything from tarot card skepticism to comedy careers, culminating in a hilarious "This or That" game that reveals as much about their personalities as their paranormal perspectives.
Don't miss this entertaining glimpse behind the paranormal podcast curtain, and be sure to catch Zach's guest co-hosting appearance in next week's episode, which promises to deliver genuine goosebumps. Whether you're a believer, skeptic, or somewhere in between, this conversation reminds us that the most intriguing discussions happen when different perspectives meet under a shared curiosity about the unknown.
Thanks for watching what's going on. This is under the table. It's not even scolarius, it doesn't matter, but I am here. It's me, john, with, not your co-ghost. No, he's not here. He's not here today. You know why he wanted to go take a vacation. I don't know where he's doing, nobody knows, but he's not here. He's not here today. You know why he wanted to go take a vacation. I don't know where he's doing, nobody knows. But he's just like I'm not doing anything. So it's just me riding solo. But I have a fan question mark and comedian. I know that that is going to be joining me today and we're just going to chat for a little bit. But here's the fun thing If anybody is a subscriber and you hear this, you'll know, but if you don't, he's going to be the guest host next week. Yeah, next week on Onscalarius. So Zach Scharf, zach, how's it going?
Speaker 2:It's going good, it's going good, going good and glad to be here.
Speaker 1:Thanks for having me, you're welcome. Uh, like I said, most most likely nobody's gonna hear this, but you know, whatever it's gonna be, it's gonna be fine. I don't know, I I shouldn't, I shouldn't be like that because you know, like whatever, but I like to call people out on this stuff. It's $3. Come on, $3. Most people buy cigarettes for more than freaking $3. So I mean, somebody could not have a pack of cigarettes and support their co-goes for a month. You know what I mean? That's all I'm saying. $3.
Speaker 2:I think next week it'll be my week.
Speaker 1:I'll join Just for you not, you gotta join, and then you have to get everybody else to join so they can hear this.
Speaker 2:So yeah, I definitely will um, all right, zach.
Speaker 1:So I mean, obviously, uh, you you're a funny guy. We've crossed paths a couple times. First time we met I wasn't 100 sure, uh, that you were too keen on what I was telling you for advice or whatever, but it I mean, whether you listen to it or not, it seemed like it you did, and the next time I saw you were you were like way better, but not saying you were bad anyway, uh, but I'm just saying like I could tell it was. It was different. You know the poise, it was different postures, different stage presence. It was, you know. But that also comes with a lot of time and you know, doing uh mics and getting different opportunities to host or jump on shows and all that. But we're not here about the comedy stuff, we're here about the paranormal stuff. So I'm assuming that you are a fan of the paranormal right.
Speaker 2:Yes, I dabble sometimes into it.
Speaker 1:Okay, so what got you into it?
Speaker 2:Growing up, I always watched Zach Bagans on the Ghost Adventures.
Speaker 1:I know it's so cliche. Okay, you probably have a lot to say about it yeah, first of all, we're aging me a lot when you say growing up, you're watching zach baggins oh my gosh yeah you and zach are about the same age, but anyway.
Speaker 1:Um so, all right. So you're watching ghost adventures and, even though I know that he is super dramatic, um, what, what made you like dive in at that point, like with him, like because I know he's, oh, it's, a demon. Oh, I'm possessed. Aaron, get in front of me. Uh, you know things like that.
Speaker 2:But how did that get you to like the parent, or was it the show that you liked? It was probably more of the show. I think I liked the aspect of of him freaking out, as many people probably did. Um, but uh, it just kind of kind of interests me into it, not as much as doing a whole podcast about it, but um, I have, I have uh some family members that uh also go. Uh they ghost hunt and stuff and uh, just it's, it's a not as a hobby, it's just more of an interest. I for me, I like listening to, like ghost stories and stuff like that.
Speaker 1:So well as of recent. I don't know how good our ghost stories have been, but we've. We've had some pretty good doozies on on school areas and hoping to get back to it really soon. Actually, it might get pretty interesting on the show that you're guest co-hosting, guest hosting, guest co-host, whatever. You're the co-host, because I'm the host and then and then dw is the co-host and we just call ourselves co-ghost, so you would be the guest co-host. Is that how that?
Speaker 2:it doesn't matter, I guess.
Speaker 1:So yeah, guest co-ghost yeah, there we go um, but on that one, yeah, I think, I think the ghost stories are going to be there I'm excited, I'm excited, I like, uh, I like the goosebumps.
Speaker 2:It's, it's pretty fun like the show or like getting getting goosebumps, I guess. I guess I kind of do. I like the books better than the, than the show definitely 100 times better I think the show now has like david schwimmer, but uh, the movie.
Speaker 1:When it first came out, my kids were younger, so I watched it with them and I was like, yeah, this is whatever it was. I mean I don't know what's it gonna say. It's scary because, like not to me, I grew up watching like real horror movies. You know what I mean. Like, but yeah, for a kid, yeah, it was up there, it was. It was frightening at times, but nothing crazy.
Speaker 1:Um, all right, well, I mean, so you're a fan of scolarius, so and I wanted to bring that up again For people who sit there and don't want to message us or email us or anything else this is what you're missing out on. I mean, I could have you as the listener on, as a co-host, but no, nobody wants to sit there and say the only thing we've ever had that was really good or nice. It wasn't even nice, it was. Dw is my favorite. That's one. And then another one was like a lady, completely and utterly like, yelling at me the whole entire time Because I'm mean to DW, like really, but whatever. So I want to know what's your favorite? Sclerius episode.
Speaker 2:My favorite Sclerius episode is definitely the one with Andrew Holt. Okay, goobs, I've gotten to know him the last few few months in the scene down here and I think cause I'm I'm kind of more of a skeptic myself, right, but leaning towards the non-believer at times, um, just from uh, different, different things I've seen and heard and just really thought of um, but I I feel like he did a really good job defending his side, and you guys also, you know but he was also really cool while talking about, I mean, yeah, he came on essentially just to like bury us.
Speaker 1:Essentially, he came on just to be like, oh, this is all bullshit and that's what, like whatever, it's cool. But if I remember right, we got it to, we got him to at least admit that if he saw a ghost in front of his face with his own two eyes, he would. He would be like, oh, okay, yeah, I believe now, or whatever, which most people, it don't take that much, but with him I feel that was a win. So I I call the win on my part.
Speaker 2:Yeah, See, I've never had an experience, so that's why I'm more leaning towards that side. You never had it. I mean not real. I mean the other week I thought I saw something go past me when I was under the influence. Something did go past you when you were under the influence, but I mean but that just kind of I was like, oh no, I'm just not normal right now. So just you know.
Speaker 1:That's something else that me and dw talked about. Like 95 of our guests that are on school areas either grew up in a haunted home or were staying with people who lived in a haunted home or whatever like it starts a childhood, and haunted home or whatever like it starts a childhood and and that's how I was, I grew up in a haunted house. So I mean, was it terrifying? No, was it terrifying, but still it as a kid that scares you when there are people there that aren't supposed to be there, aren't supposed to be there. As, yeah, a little bit, you know, but I I don't know. I I feel, since you haven't had an experience, people like dw haven't had an experience, goobs hasn't had an experience they immediately go to the like no, I don't believe this shit, instead of well, it's a possibility, it could happen, but you know what I mean? I don't know.
Speaker 2:Yeah Well, I've never seen the Pope, but you know he's real, true.
Speaker 1:Okay, yeah, I mean you've seen the Pope.
Speaker 2:I mean, yeah, on TV, but not in person that's.
Speaker 1:I mean still, you see, you see them on tv. You know he's there. I a a megalodon would have been a better reference, like I've never seen a megalodon, but I know, okay, they used to exist. I don't know, that's. That's at least. Yeah, I'm bad.
Speaker 2:I'm bad with my, my uh references, I guess no way it worked in my head you, you're.
Speaker 1:I mean, if it worked in your head that I mean that's fine. But I'm just like no pope's real and he's from chic.
Speaker 2:That's actually pretty cool. I think that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:You know. No, I love Chicago, I love the Chicago. I love the fact that he's a Cubs fan. I'm not 100% into the fact that he could be the one that ushers in the Antichrist and he's the anti-Pope and everything else. That kind of bums me out a little bit, especially since he's from chicago. But uh, that that's where I'm at with that, like the nostradamus, uh slash revelations yeah things happening um. Have you ever heard of nostradamus?
Speaker 2:and I don't know completely about it. I've heard it, okay, don't know a lot about it.
Speaker 1:Nostradamus was a soothsayer or whatever, I don't know, I guess like prophet Not a prophet, I don't know how, in the paranormal world, what they would be, but sees into the future, like not a psychic or medium, but you know whatever, um yeah uh there's a word that popped in my head and I can't remember it's all right, um, but he, he had some wild stuff, man.
Speaker 1:He, he predicted, supposedly predicted hitler. He predicted the assassination of john f kennedy, like hundreds of years before it happened. He uh predicted what was it? Um, saddam hussein really. Yeah, the crazy stuff, man. Yeah, it was hundreds, like we're talking 1500s, 1400s or whatever, and like the names would be like, instead of hitler it was hister and it, yeah, it was crazy, but it was close I'll look into this more. It sounds very interesting yeah, man check it out. Yeah, I think you'd like it yeah for sure.
Speaker 1:Um, all right, so I'm sorry we're backtracking, but we're gonna use this. It's a mini version of a real fucking episode. We're gonna go everywhere and it doesn't matter. Um, so go back to your favorite episode was uh, goobazam afraid no ghost, um, and you told why do you have like a? Okay, that's your favorite, so give me your top five top five.
Speaker 2:Okay, oh, geez, off the top, my head is crazy. Um I, I do enjoy the one with um the the older melissa. She was the older psychic right melissa mccarty that's who I was.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that one was pretty good I like that one um I don't know said she was um married to billy the kid and whatever like that that got wild too man yeah you know, whatever man that's, that's a really tough question.
Speaker 2:I I really haven't really thought about it that deep uh here let me.
Speaker 1:Let me just look at the list yeah, you know episodes yeah, you can look at the list at my of my episodes on uh. By the way, I just might as well say this at um scolariaspodbuzzsproutcom, or is it buzzsproutscolarias? Whatever, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2:Like I said, it's scolariaspodbuzzsproutcom um, one of the first episodes I listened to was, uh, the one where you, uh, you and dw uh took a trip to all the hotels, the haunted hotels and stuff.
Speaker 1:I like that one.
Speaker 2:I like the informational ones, kind of like that. The Catacombs, that was a good one. The Bones of Paris.
Speaker 1:Yeah, queen, consort on there. Yeah, that was a pretty good one.
Speaker 2:That was a very good one, and Chernobyl, that one. I'm very, very interested in nuclear kind of things. I never took or thought of the connection between how the paranormal can be connected with all that.
Speaker 1:It's very, very, very interesting what I thought was weird, and I think I think this is really cool like I got an email on this, like this one I actually did, because this one went out into like there's people all over the world listen I mean there's people all over the world to listen to sclerus anyway, for the most part, but this one was way out there and there was somebody from I think it was germany that emailed and they were like I would like to hear more of your theory of nuclear energy, boosting paranormal energy. And I was like all I could think of it was like it wasn't a theory, I didn't write it down, I was just, I just said it, you know. And I was like, basically, nuclear energy is like, uh, I mean man-made wise or natural wise is you know the most energy you can have besides the sun, right, so like why wouldn't that attract? And they're like, oh yeah, I guess that does make sense. But I mean it wasn't like I was studying it or anything.
Speaker 2:Yeah, two and two made that one of those things where you sounded like really smart at the second yeah, it doesn't happen I love. I love when it happens because, like, I always take it in, like I like to say, like man, that was really smart. I gotta write that down. But I, I had one of those moments, uh, the other day, and I just was just amazed on how smart I sometimes can be, but most of the time I'm not. You.
Speaker 1:No, I get it, I act like a chucklehead. But this might shock you, this is the truth. I have a degree in forensic science, forensic investigation. Yeah, so I'm a scientist.
Speaker 2:I did not know that. You've had a very interesting life From the second to last episode that was up. I did not know that that's a very you've had a very interesting life from the last, uh, the second to last episode that I uh that was up. Um, I've learned a whole like what was that one? Um, it was with um, another median Um. It was the one where you guys were like, talking about um, how like women are more.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah, yeah, I can't remember stacy lynn yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, um, but you were talking about like all these different things that have happened in your life and I was like damn, that's, that's crazy well, that was the beginning, right when we were talking about, uh, because you know my version, quote unquote of doctors or whatever it sounds.
Speaker 1:I'm not like it. I totally agree. I'm not scared to go, it's just like it's more of an inconvenience really yeah, man, where's the time you know?
Speaker 2:starting healing up. I just, I just had one of those cuts. I I don't know if you can tell I had a cut here. Oh yeah, I snapped um a screwdriver and it uh went right into my um, my, my face. I got a black eye and everything, but it started healing up like right away. Like everyone was like oh, you should have got stitches.
Speaker 1:I like, looks fine to me the only thing, by the way, we're talking about my cut. And then there was other things. Uh, the stacy lynn episode that he was like I I think I was referring to, like the fact that I had west niles the first ever. And then, uh, yeah, first ever human with West Nile in the state of Iowa. I guarantee, like I don't even know if you can, but if you look up the records of the CDC, I'm in there. So I mean, that's freaking crazy.
Speaker 1:And then you know, shot, stabbed, shot, you know, die to covid, yeah, yeah. And you know it's really crazy to go all the way back to when I was, when I was born. My mom wasn't even supposed to have kids. At that time, like she, she, like her uterus and everything was jacked like right after me was, boom, hysterectomy. I shouldn't even been born, dude. Like there was like, and the fact that I've cheated I'm not going to say cheated death, because it comes back around. Trust me, it's not you, never. It's one game You're never going to win, but the the been close many, many times and all that stuff. Like it's just, it's nuts, I'd still walk this earth. There's a reason for it. Either god wants me to piss a lot of people off or I don't know.
Speaker 2:There's something, but yeah what doesn't kill you makes you stronger yeah, I just keep getting stronger and stronger.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna be a freaking batman villain.
Speaker 2:That's what's gonna happen yeah, well, I love it you could definitely be a good joker. Uh, good, penguin who? Or the penguin, I guess you as a penguin really you went with.
Speaker 1:It's more like my transformation into joe rogan is almost complete. That's funny. Just um, my uh, my son, uh, which is, I'll tell you this, my kids, you know, they go to school where I went to school, they you know, and it it's pretty crappy. I hate it. I hate the fact that they're going to where I went. Um, what might be even worse is they're going to where their big sister went, which, complete, was not fun for anybody. But, um, the teachers are like, uh, do you know who olivia's dad like my daughter? Yeah, you know who her dad is. It's john olsen. He's a really funny and famous comedian and I she was telling me about this and I was like famous. And then she's like, yeah, they say that about all the time. And then my son's like yeah, and then people are like what's your dad like? And he's like, uh, joe rogan, only funny I like that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's. That's funny.
Speaker 1:Your kid's gonna be a comedian someday probably he wants to be, um, he, he wants to be a director, he wants to really yeah I was into that for a little bit.
Speaker 2:Uh, I took a film film class, uh, my freshman year at high school and, uh, that was probably the best time my life was taking that class or not. My in my high school right experience was probably taking that class. That was so much fun, I learned a lot, um, and it really got me to where I am today with uh like performing and stuff.
Speaker 1:I really enjoyed it I could see that yeah um, like like I told him, you know, I was like, hey, just get into it, and then if you're gonna go like he wants to make that move or go to la, I said, if you do like become a production assistant in a studio as fast as possible, because that's the only way like you ever think about, like people who climb the ladder either people are successful right away in hollywood or they climb, and when they climb, they usually climb from like a production assistant job or getting somebody coffee or whatever the hell it is. Yeah, you, wherever there are. I said get there right right away. And then, um, but yeah, so he's looking to go to film school and then going out there. How old is he?
Speaker 2:he's 17, 17 yep, awesome, that's perfect. Get out. Get out, do what you want. Figure out what you want to do. I still don't know what I want to do in life.
Speaker 1:I really don't dude, I'm double your age. I still don't know really. I mean, I have an idea. I would like just do this. I have to have another gig. You know what I mean? I would love to do this. I feel doing podcasting and traveling and doing like pair of cons and all that shit would be a fucking blast and just do it consistently.
Speaker 2:But well, what you and dw got is like it's great. I love your guys's energy. You guys are hilarious, you bring great stories to the show and I just feel like with a little bit more publicity or a little bit more outreach and stuff, you know you guys could, you guys could make it. You could make it there. You know, like you said, never, never, say never. Another cliche.
Speaker 1:But yep, and me and dw want two different things. Like he he you know he loves doing this. I know he does because otherwise he wouldn't do it. Um, and, as a matter of fact, I love the fact that you're still doing it because, like when we first started the show, he's like nah, it's never gonna work. So, yeah, I mean the fact that it it is working for the most part and everything that I've said that would happen has happened essentially. Yeah, um, yeah, he's starting to kind of like okay, yeah, so I mean he acts like he doesn't like it, but he does because otherwise he wouldn't do it. There's yeah, you know what I mean. I, yeah, I'm not paying him, so I it's. Yeah, he's getting something out of it. So that's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2:He just likes to enjoy his ciders and just sit back and talk to them.
Speaker 1:Oh my God, cribers, so that shirt's out. I know this is like, but I made that.
Speaker 2:I saw that the other day was hilarious. I love it. I think I might, but that's gonna be my next one, I'm pretty sure um I do. I do have the uh uh. I have no idea who john john wilson is my queen consort bought that too that's hilarious which I I that's what I said like I think it's, it's funny.
Speaker 1:Like either a I mean, I like I said, look at it two different ways. Like one, she's supporting sclarious and I love it. That's amazing. Two, like I'm not 100 sure if she's like trying to say she don't want to know who john olsen is because that would be devastating, I don't know. Yeah, she got that. She was wearing it. I was like I can't believe you did that. Whatever, it was good, I like it. I might get DW the old Kriper shirt.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the Kripers, I love hoodies. I'm glad that you put this out in a hoodie, because I wear hoodies more than I wear shirts, because I'm fat and self-conscious about myself. Like growing up I was always like that. I always wore hoodies, no matter what. But now I really don't care, it's just comfortable and it's freezing down here in my room.
Speaker 1:I can't, no, man, if it's over a certain. I think I wore a hoodie two weeks ago in the morning on a walk I was taking and it was the last one. I was like nope. Once I was like, oh Nope. Once I start sweating in them, nope, it's over. I can't be doing that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I like it when, when I work out, I like wearing them to sweat a little bit more. I guess I get it when I work out. It's been a long time, it's been a very long time.
Speaker 1:Well, a long time, it's been a very long time. Well, I don't I don't wear hoodies to work out whatsoever, uh, so okay. So we went through kind of your top five scolarius, we went through your favorite scolarius. What's? I can't believe I'm doing this what's your least favorite?
Speaker 2:my least favorite um last week's episode was probably up there uh, yeah, okay, fair enough I'm sorry. I'm sorry, it's just complete bs. I don't it's chance. It's a chance that you're getting a card and that can't be your future, you know yeah, it's roulette, it's blackjack.
Speaker 1:I even said that cosmic blackjack. I actually made that statement on the show because I was like, uh, just throwing cards down and there's 52 cards in the deck. I was like once she didn't even know she didn't even know how many cards were in the deck yeah, yeah, it was like 56 or 52 and I was like, well, if it's 52 and it was 56, then there's four cards. That are the jokers, right? No, there's only two jokers.
Speaker 2:There's only two jokers in the deck, yeah yeah, so there'd be four, yeah, four jokers technically yeah, yeah so there'd be four.
Speaker 2:Yeah, four jokers technically. So all right, no, no, it'd be two jokers. Yeah, but I don't know, I'm it's, it's just, it's not it's. It was a good episode to listen to it. Just the way she presented it was just. Uh, it was difficult for me to wrap my head around, because if you're, if you're into something, you would at least know a little bit at least how many cards you have in a deck. It just made me hard to believe, you know I understand it.
Speaker 1:now we're going to do something really fun. We are going to talk about my top five, my favorite and my least favorite. This is me doing this. I'm the host. I have to hurt somebody's feelings, have to.
Speaker 2:Have to, it's just your idea. I know right, you have to do it.
Speaker 1:I have to do it. Oh man, let's see. Now I'm going to look them up Because even though I'm really good at this, you know, remembering over so many, remembering over so many I kind of want them in front of me so I can check them out.
Speaker 2:While you're looking that up, I will say, my favorite part about each episode is when you say something that just shocks DW and there's just that awkward silence and it makes me think that my phone like turned off or something. That's my favorite part.
Speaker 1:And then immediately I start laughing because it's silent on his end. You know it's silent for both of us, and then I start laughing. So then no, or he'll be like, why did you? Uh, and I love it. He doesn't realize, we're not. We're not talking smack about dw here, but no, I love dw. Yeah, he's hilarious he doesn't realize how nasally he actually is. So when I'm doing my impersonation of him, it's's pretty fucking. I mean, it might not be right, spot on, but it's oh geez. Oh geez oh Cripers.
Speaker 2:Well, here's the thing, john, I don't say Cripers in real life. So you know it's really funny about John. I don't say gripers in real life.
Speaker 1:You know, what's really funny about that that's pretty good Is that I'll sometimes do a tally of here's the thing he started saying. He didn't say that either. I was like so whatever. Sometimes he'll be like you'll hear it. He'll be like here's the thing I'll be like, you'll hear it. He'll be like here's the thing, I'll go seven and then that's all I'll do, like I won't even, whatever. Um, so what are your feelings about him not selling the dws in the beginning of the show?
Speaker 2:like that's irritating I, I feel like the dws.
Speaker 1:I know I feel he should sell those because those are really like. Those take a lot of work Myself, my consort, you know we all like.
Speaker 2:What's your favorite DW?
Speaker 1:Diarrhea or water slide.
Speaker 2:That's. I love that. That's hilarious. Diarrhea, that's just the craziest. Like just thinking I just had the thought of DW going down A diarrhea, diarrhea.
Speaker 1:That's just the craziest.
Speaker 2:Like just thinking. I just had the thought of DW going down A diarrhea.
Speaker 1:No, it's diarrhea water park. Either way, I don't know, but that might be All right. So we're going to do my top five and I'm going to start with, even though it's probably our number one most listened to show. I'm going to start with, even though it's probably our number one most listened to show, I'm going to start this at my number five. Number five is homeless where the heart is. Oh, a ton of Minnesota. Um, homeless where the haunt is, whatever. That's my number one. Yeah, that one is like I said, it's the number one most downloaded show. It's hilarious, um, one most downloaded show at school areas um, my, uh, also like the uh. Number four is ug miji weegi. I love that one. That was good.
Speaker 1:Number three, I'm going to say it was Tri-State Paranormal Services. Number two, I'm going to say Haunted Florida Panhandle, because it was author Caitlin Jones. Essentially it's because she brought Bigfoot, like all nonchalant she's like uh, and then there was, you know, like I was, there was a dog by my car and I was outside and all of a sudden there was a bigfoot. I was like what? Where the hell did that come from? You know what I mean. Like yeah, um, because they're sitting there talking about ghosts or whatever. Was that number two? Is that? What about ghosts or whatever? Was that number two? Is that what I said? Number two, yeah, that was number two.
Speaker 2:And then number one is Haunted Disneyland. I'll have to listen to that, that seems. I didn't think there was a haunting.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's episode 24, I think, yeah, it's really good. I wouldn't, um, you'll love that and I feel like a lot of people should listen to that one, because it um, not only does it go over the hauntings in disneyland, it's the why of the hauntings in disneyland, um, some pretty I'm gonna say scandalous, like scandalous things that happened there, uh, with remains of people and uh, there's like Walt Disney stories. This guy, his dad, was like really good friends with Walt, so he has stories of that nobody else has, because Disney would shut that shit down if they really knew. So that was my favorite one.
Speaker 2:They should play into it a little bit more. I feel like they could do something with that.
Speaker 1:I know, I feel that they could too.
Speaker 2:Isn't there like a haunted ride? They have too, yeah.
Speaker 1:Disney Haunted Mansion.
Speaker 2:Yep, yep, I've been on that one.
Speaker 1:um, I feel like they could step it up a little bit yeah, exactly so, and uh hate to do this, but my most disliked one was the tarot card one. So, yeah, we have some good taste in our show, in my show.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, in your show.
Speaker 1:In my show.
Speaker 2:I do, I only have been listening, since we, since we met Right, I think it was in March, was it? I don't know, but, I started listening like that week after we met and, um, I just been listening back from where wherever I started, just back a little bit, and, um, I don't have much time to listen to it just at work, um, but I'm, I'm making my way down, making my way down the list.
Speaker 1:So that's cool, it's badass I yeah I enjoy that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, once you get to like um, I don't know, 30, something like that, in the first six, like god bless it, like randy and carlos are like our first one, our first guest, and uh, I should have him back and and we I don't know but whatever. But he like the audio wasn't real great and everything. Like we had a lot of growing pains. And then, like the first five or six episodes well, first five episodes for sure, but then six was ryan stock and then we started kind of you know getting into our own or whatever after that one. But every like everybody goes back, it's they start at the first one. Like god damn, why are you starting at episode one? Like you should start at their newest one, probably not the newest one.
Speaker 2:Well, I don't I I still feel like it's still a good listen. It's a good listen, uh, your last episode. So you know it's. It's a good and a bad episode. You're gonna have them you know that's true.
Speaker 1:yeah, hopefully we have more, more good than bad, but I don't know. So you know there's not really a guest on here, it's just me and you, uh, but you know our other under the table, uh, this is how I ended this one. So, uh, basically we do this show, so you know we can have our guests answer something they didn't answer in the episode or whatever, but considering the fact this is following an episode that we haven't really had yet, but whatever, so we're going to do this, this, I'm gonna ask you these questions and all right, yeah, all right.
Speaker 1:So say you are the last person on the last male on the planet and you can one other female, okay, and these are the females that you have to choose from rosie o'donnell okay, good start ellen degeneres all right a roseanne bar roseanne bar really number one. I love me some roseanne okay just that laugh is good, that's what gets me all right, you, you know it's so you you'd have to banger to yes, create more people. Okay, all right.
Speaker 2:I am completely aware.
Speaker 1:Okay, all right.
Speaker 2:I love me. That's my type of woman right there.
Speaker 1:Okay, all right.
Speaker 2:I have a very specific type. Okay, all right, there you go.
Speaker 1:Very, very specific. All right, well, yeah, and then I guess we're going to go with this one John Olson, john Olson or Ed Gein.
Speaker 2:Who? I don't even know who that is.
Speaker 1:Which one?
Speaker 2:Neither. Well, I'm going to have to go with you. Who is this other person you know?
Speaker 1:You don't know who Ed Gein is.
Speaker 2:I don't.
Speaker 1:Ed Gein was a horrible serial killer or whatever, and he would like skin people and he would like yeah, it would yeah. So I'm glad I was chosen. So, thank you, appreciate that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I will. I will always choose you.
Speaker 1:Oh, thank you, Well, I you know always choose you. Oh, thank you, well, I you know. I'm gonna say that this is gonna be sandwiched between, uh, the episode you're going to be hosting, or guest hosting, and the one before that. So, um, if that's the case, then we need to preface this and say that when you're talking about the last episode being not your favorite, it doesn't mean the last one that people might be hearing.
Speaker 2:Yes, what it?
Speaker 1:means is the last one that you would be hearing at this time of recording, which was episode 77. Yes, all right.
Speaker 2:Very clear, very clear.
Speaker 1:We had to do that because, just in case, we don't want anybody to be offended. But, to be fair, I wasn't trying to, but I don't care if I do.
Speaker 2:I did come prepared for the episode that we were supposed to record. I did have a this or that list, are you?
Speaker 1:intrigued. I'm intrigued. Why don't you hit me with that? And then we'll close this out.
Speaker 2:We will be good, all right, all right. So, mr John Olson, yes, this is this or that. This is how we're going to be closing Chinese takeout, or hibachi.
Speaker 1:Oh, hibachi, I love me some hoo-ha. Is that like hibachi? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, okay, I do like I think I'd I'd choose hibachi too. It's a, it's a way more fun experience. Okay, dessert or appetizer.
Speaker 1:I love onion rings. Man, I would probably choose onion rings over a molten chocolate cake any day, so I'm going to say appetizer.
Speaker 2:I do like a molten chocolate cake any day, so I'm gonna say appetizer.
Speaker 1:I do like a molten chocolate cake, though that is very good yeah, notice how that just popped up.
Speaker 2:I not with yeah, anyway um, I think I know the answer to this one, but I did write it down thc or alcohol oh, you know that really thc.
Speaker 1:But I was gonna say that depends on the day, because it like THC or alcohol, thc. I was going to say that depends on the day. Alcohol can be a hangover, thc usually just smooth, smooth, ride all the way through, not waking up all messed up, all that junk. You just feel like you had a nice great slumber or whatever. All right, go ahead.
Speaker 2:Up north or down south?
Speaker 1:Oh my God, oh my God, oh my god, oh my god. This might affect some people, but anything south of the Mason-Dixon line is just ridiculous. I just I can't hey what you got on that wall, doc. That's what I heard like all of a sudden, like, oh my god, I can't stand that shit Anytime. Like if somebody, mostly like the guys with their stupid ass boots and hey, hey, hey, oh my. But then again up north, pretentious fuckers up there. You know, I'm going to say up north and and this is why I'm nordic as shit like I'm almost 100 norwegian and I I can handle the cold but I despise like humidity and fucking. So let's step north, yeah, as far up north as possible actually that's a good answer.
Speaker 2:That's a good answer. I like that. Okay, um this one, that I got one more um stand-up comedy or podcasting son of a bitch, um, stand up.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna say stand up. Um, that one's a lot less effort for me. Uh, hold on. I'm not saying I don't work, I'm just saying a lot of that stuff, um, when I'm up on stage it kind of comes naturally. I don't have to work as hard for the stuff. But um, the podcasting I sometimes you have to work to uh work to get a vibe, work to get people to laugh, work to get people entertained or whatever, like you had to dig in and get it done. And actually a little side note, podcasting actually has helped me on stage because of that exact thing, because I had to work a little bit harder.
Speaker 1:See, I'm not hearing audiences reaction here yeah so, um, I can only hear the reaction of dw or the guest or whatever. But my assumption is, by how they are, I'm going to have to work harder to get them to whatever, and then so, on stage, I just want to get up there and dig in and go. So yeah, it's helped me out, but I'm still going to say stand-up comedy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I do enjoy stand-up. It's very fun. Okay, last one. I think you might like this one DW Serene or DW Reed, from Arthur.
Speaker 1:I fucking hate Arthur. I'd go with DW.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:I can't stand. See another one. And then I'd have DW across from him and you just don't like because he, you know something to make you happy, or whatever. I don't know how DW got Southern all of a sudden, but whatever, no, arthur drives me nuts. I can't, I can't, no. So we're going to go with the dubs. We love dubs, we love dubs.
Speaker 1:We do love dubs. We love B-dubs too, all right. Well, I mean, yeah, hopefully people tune into this and get to listen to you a little bit, see what makes you tick, listen to you a little bit, see what makes you tick, and then, most definitely, the episode that you're going to be co-ghosting on, that one's going to be Like I said I'm excited.
Speaker 1:I feel that was going to bring the goosebumps, as you said before. All right, one more thing before. Alright, one more thing before we go. Prior to me, pressing record on this, I disclosed to my good friend Zach that I may have had a little bit too much of an edible, and with that I said we're going to play that game, and you know that game, guess when it kicks in. So to end this, we're going to have Zach guess when it kicked in, or when will it kick in?
Speaker 2:See, your eyes have started closing a little bit.
Speaker 1:But then again I think it's just the angle of the camera.
Speaker 2:That might be, I don't know. So you took it before we got on.
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:How long ago though.
Speaker 1:How long before? Yeah, probably about 20 minutes.
Speaker 2:So it must have just started kicking kicking it, because we've been talking for a bit before we even started recording. So I I'm gonna say, when you started naming your favorite, uh, your favorite, your, your favorite.
Speaker 1:And why was there a shift in it?
Speaker 2:I don't it just uh, you seem more in like very excited to talk about I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1:You still seem somewhat normal I guess I don't even know, but it might have. I have no idea. That's how it is with me. I'm pretty good about it, like yeah, you really can't tell except for my eyes, but, like I said, they're just whatever. Yeah, all right. Well, um, I'm gonna say you're right, probably right about the uh. The time when I was looking up the uh, the names of the episodes, that's when I started to feel the wave coming.
Speaker 1:I'm like alright, let's ride this baby out. It's a good job. Well, whoever hears this, I hope you liked it. And then you like Zach, because he's going to be doing a show with me and it might lead to more, who knows? And you might come on as a third for a couple episodes or whatever. See, you never know. Yeah, I'm excited. I'm excited too, all right. Well, I guess you know what that means. It means that you guys have been amazing, we have been under the table and we are out Later.
