The Pacific Theater (Part II)
The Japanese had invaded hundreds of Pacific islands so we had to determine the key spots we had to re-take as we headed for Tokyo and victory in the Pacific. Battle after bloody battle would be required, often with Japanese losses in men being ten times that of the Americans since surrender was not an option in the Bushido warrior code. We will consider the horrible but necessary use of the ‘ultimate weapon’: two atomic bombs that forced Japan to surrender in September of 1945.
If you want to have a fuller background to the material in our series, please consider purchasing the workbook I wrote for my high school history classes, Modern United States History, published by Canon Press, in Moscow, Idaho. But whether you get the workbook or just listen, I think you will enjoy the stories and hopefully gain some insights into U.S. history, which is indeed His story!
Thanks for listening - Tom Garfield
