Heritage of U.S. - A US History Podcast

The Race To Space

Season 1 Episode 32

Text us your questions!

The Soviet communications satellite, Sputnik, sailed far over our heads in 1957 and produced a vast panic in the United States. Almost every aspect of life was affected by the subsequent and immediate drive to ‘catch up’ with the commies! The Space Race was on!. We will go through the amazing and almost eerie timeline of events that finally culminated with the U.S. winning the race and meeting JFK’s challenge of landing a man on the moon before the sixties were over.

If you want to have a fuller background to the material in our series, please consider purchasing the workbook I wrote for my high school history classes, Modern United States History, published by Canon Press, in Moscow, Idaho. But whether you get the workbook or just listen, I think you will enjoy the stories and hopefully gain some insights into U.S. history, which is indeed His story!
