Rita Brown is an award winning prominent advocate for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in Australia. Days after we recorded this episode she was presented with the Medal of the Order of Australia - an incredible honor.

We discuss Rita's path to advocacy following her daughter's receiving a diagnosis of BPD  and attempt to receive the treatments she needed. We also talk about the importance of including carers (in this case family members) as a member of a care team and what Rita has seen change since her early advocacy days 21 years ago.
