
Sarah Albrecht, PhD
Sarah Albrecht is an Assistant Professor of Bilingual Education in the at the University of Houston-Downtown. Her PhD is in Language, Reading and Culture with an emphasis on bilingual education and has Masters’ degrees in Spanish and Education. She has taught middle and high school Spanish and university courses in Educational Linguistics, Heritage Spanish, Children’s Literature in Spanish, Academic Proficiencies for the Bilingual Classroom Teacher, and Language Arts Instruction for the Bilingual/ESL Classroom. She is an editor for English in Texas, providing expertise on bilingual education, and supervises clinical bilingual teacher candidates. Research areas include bilingual and heritage language education, biliteracy, and bilingual teacher preparation. In particular, she is interested in translation as a language teaching strategy.
