Mars vs. Pluto: The Final Battle

Kait Leonard Season 1 Episode 37

Welcome to PiscesMoon Astrology!

A cosmic standoff between Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius reaches its climax during the week of April 20-26, marking the final chapter in an intense celestial story that began last November. This opposition represents a powerful clash between our need for personal recognition and the demands of collective power—a battle that will play out differently for each of us depending on which houses these planets occupy in our birth charts.

Mars, positioned in regal Leo, fights with nobility for what we rightfully deserve—recognition, sovereignty, and personal power. Meanwhile, Pluto in Aquarius claims to represent "the greater good," often using manipulation while advocating for collective needs. The Sun forms a T-square with these two powerhouse planets, illuminating this tension with sometimes uncomfortable clarity.

Whether this manifests as workplace battles over who deserves credit, relationship struggles between personal needs and partnership demands, or other life areas where individual desires meet collective expectations—the theme remains consistent. Unlike other challenging aspects where avoidance might be wise, this final Mars-Pluto opposition represents a necessary confrontation.

Finding balance between these seemingly opposing forces is the true path forward. How can you claim your rightful recognition while still honoring the bigger picture? How might you stand firm in your power while acknowledging collective needs? Rather than counting to ten or walking away, the cosmic advice is clear: fight this battle with honor and integrity, keeping your punches above the belt. This isn't a conflict to avoid, but a necessary step in your evolution.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Pisces Moon Astrology. I'm your astrologer, kate Leonard, and I'm excited to explore the stars with you. Hi everyone, welcome to the week of April 20th through April 26th. I'm calling this the week of tense, hot power and I'm not even giving dates this week to focus on, because what we're talking about is going to take up the entire week and even moving a little bit into the following week, and it's a big big deal. We're talking about the final opposition of Mars and Pluto Yikes right, the two big warriors opposing each other in the sky. We've been through it twice before Get ready. So, before I get into the astrology for the week, I would like it so much If you would follow, like, share, this podcast. I'm really trying to get those numbers up there. I've got big plans for once. We hit a certain size audience and I'd love to get there, and I can only do that with your help, but otherwise, just sit back, listen, and I'm grateful for you being here.

Speaker 1:

Let me give you some other important things happening this week, because, while the Mars Pluto opposition is by far the biggest energy and what we're going to be focused on, I think mostly there are some other things going on On the 23rd. We've got Venus moving, direct meeting the North Node of Destiny. Now we've been through this conjunction before. I've talked about it a lot. This is the final pass. This is faded love, inspired art, creative ways for making money and things like that, because, remember, venus is connected to all the good stuff in life, right, but I think mostly we're going to see creativity and love and this is going to have a karmic intensity to it. So that's a good thing. Going on this week, right, we've got soul unions coming up. Whatever big love stuff has been going on with you or Venus stuff, money, art, you know all the stuff unions of all kinds, partnerships, whatever's been going on during this Venus retrograde cycle. This is going to be the final big bang of it, because this is when she is crossing the North Node of Destiny for the last time, and actually I think that's the only other thing I'm going to talk about this week.

Speaker 1:

If you're into the horoscopes with the W over on Substack, jackie and I are still collaborating on that, so you can go over and check that out there if you want the sexy, spicy side of things. But other than that, let's get into this T-square. First, the opposition between Mars, the warrior god in Hot, hot, leo, and Pluto, the god of the underworld, in Aquarius. It goes exact by degree on the 26th. But, like I said, this is huge energy and we're going to be feeling it all week To just get the week started right and give us a big kabang right from the get-go. We've got the sun also in the mix and we're going to have what's called a T-square.

Speaker 1:

A T-square is two squares those are very tense aspects, connected by an opposition, and that's exactly what it sounds like it's an opposition. So we've got Mars and Pluto making the opposition leg of this T-square and they are connected by the sun, hot, fiery ruler of Leo, where Mars is the sun. So what is this? This is tension. This is difficult energy that's not flowing smoothly, right, and it is hot, with both the sun and Mars involved in Leo, right, a fire sign, fixed fire. So it's like burning intensely in one space in our lives and that is opposing Pluto, which is the opposite of all of this and a heavy hitter, a slow planet that brings power and might and a fight for control. It's a big deal in the sign of Aquarius the future, the people, science, technology, all of that kind of stuff. Right, it's big.

Speaker 1:

I do want to say a thing here what this is going to mean to the world, to politics, power fighting between countries and within countries. I'm really looking at the US chart and there's all kind of stuff going on at the same time as this really difficult opposition. What it's going to mean on the world stage is scary, but I'm not going to go into it here. So the good news is I'm not going to go into it here, but it's different. That level of like war energy is different than how we're going to experience it on a personal level. The reason I'm saying all of this is you're probably, if you follow astrology and I assume you do, or you wouldn't be here you're going to be hearing some hardcore, heavy duty stuff about this week and, yeah, it's all true, but it's going to be different to us as individuals. So keep that in mind, even though the opposition between Mars and Pluto is actually the biggest thing.

Speaker 1:

But I don't want to gloss over the fact that the Sun is involved, especially for the first half of the week. Think of the sun as shining light on this power struggle, but not in a comfortable, easy way, right, because it's shining its light through that square angle. So we're going to have visibility, but we may not like what we're seeing, okay, and whatever this power struggle is okay, keep in mind. At least we won't be fighting in the dark, which I guess we'll take whatever gifts we can get. The sun is also more favorable to Mars. Mars is in Leo, so that square is not so challenging because the sun is hosting Mars in a way. Right, that's good. Except Mars is hot, leo is hot, the sun is hot, right, so we've got a lot of fire here.

Speaker 1:

I think passions are going to be running high, and I don't mean passions like in the bedroom, although maybe. But if so, there's going to be a power struggle there, so not as great. I mean anger and just whatever's coming up in all of this fiery mess. This week it's going to be hot, heated, explosive Think of those kind of words right? Also, the sun is involved, you know, because it's forming this T-square.

Speaker 1:

The sun is part of this whole dynamic and the sun is our ego. It's where we want to be seen out in the world. So I don't mean ego in the most negative sense of the word, like oh, you're an egomaniac, or something like that, although this week some people may be because of all that fire and all this power and all this fighting right, but in general the sun is not ego in the negative sense. It's just literally where we want to be known, how we want to be recognized. It's that place where we want to stand in the spotlight. So expect for whatever's coming up to have to do with your ego and how, like your public persona. All right, that may be a big factor or a big force piece of this power play.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so now the opposition. First, to get a sense of what's going on, think back to the first two passes. All right, on November 4th 2024, oh yeah, the day before the US presidential election. Remember that day in the before times, mars was in Cancer, opposing Pluto in Capricorn. Then, on December 31st 2024, it may have been January 1st for a lot of you I am speaking in and from Pacific time, so there may be a little bit of a difference, like a one-day difference for some of you, but in my time, on December 31st Mars, remember that eternal retrograde of Mars. All of this has been part of that story. At that point, mars was in Leo and he was opposing Pluto in Aquarius, and that's where they are for this opposition. Think back. So, again, that was November 4th and December 31st and we're going to have the final pass of this opposition on April 26th. Okay, so those are all connected. Think back to those other two dates.

Speaker 1:

What was going on for you. Look up those weeks in your journals and your calendars and wherever you keep all of that stuff, because I don't know if you're like me, I can't remember this morning very well, but anyway, look back and whatever was coming up for you, whatever was going on, and you can really think back to the whole Mars retrograde to some extent, because this is all part of this picture. Okay, so let's get back into it. Oh, and always look to see where these signs are in your natal chart. That's where you're going to be feeling this most intensely. That is always the case. If you're still unclear about how to do that or how to make that all work, first, in my sub stack, for free, I've posted again the houses and what their meanings are. You could go look at that. Otherwise, book an appointment. I promise you'll understand how to do all of this when you're done with the first appointment.

Speaker 1:

All right, so what is the Mars-Pluto opposition going to be bringing up. It's interesting because Mars in Leo, leo's gregarious, right, he's royalty. There's something sort of noble about Leo when we're getting the best, but he's also possibly a bully and in some ways, even though he's very gregarious, he's also solitary. In a way, he's royalty, he's like the king. There's only one king, right. So we've got this fiery warrior energy of Mars and I do think we're going to be getting the good side of Mars. Okay, mars is either the noble warrior or the psycho killer. You hear me say it all the time. Mars came out of cancer, where he was miserable. He's now in hot, fiery Leo, where he's way more comfortable because he's hot and fiery. So I think we're going to be getting the best of Mars, but he's still a warrior and, you know, fighting for our place in the sun, fighting for our own royal status in some ways right.

Speaker 1:

Then we've got Pluto. You know, what do you say about Pluto? I'm not going to go into the Persephone myth because I know it's very triggering, but Pluto is about power and control. So you already see Mars in Royal Leo wanting to be on the throne himself. He's not going to mesh well with Pluto, who is only about power and control. Really, right, he is the god of the underworld and he will do whatever it takes. He's ruthless, he's not. Yeah, he's ruthless. Think of the Persephone myth. You know what I'm talking about. And he's the dark side. But what's interesting is he's in Aquarius, which is the sign of the people. It's a humanitarian sign. Right, you got Mars over there in that kind of solitary position but gregarious, in Leo, and you've got Pluto in Aquarius, which is very humanitarian and of the people. Except Aquarius is the most aloof sign in the zodiac. Aquarius wants to do good things for all, but doesn't necessarily want to be your best friend and snuggle buddy.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so there's something weird right there, you know. Are we leading a noble cause for ourselves? Is it about where I stand in the spotlight, or are we power to the people? Somehow these two things are facing off. But it's more than that. If that doesn't resonate with you, think of it as your kind of individual. Need Mars to stand in your own power, claim your power and have sovereignty over yourself. Right To control yourself and own yourself in a way, right Against Pluto, he rules a kingdom. Right, he rules the underworld. So it's much more about us fighting the powers that be.

Speaker 1:

Does that make sense and be aware that in this case, the powers that be might be manipulative saying like no, you're being selfish. Leo, right, mars in Leo. You're being selfish, you want the glory for yourself. I'm trying to do what's right for everybody. Think about this in a work environment. That would be, if Pluto is in maybe your 10th house. It would be your boss. Like, you're trying to grab the glory on this thing, this project, whatever it is, and I'm trying to do what's right for everybody. And you're like no, in this case, I did this, this is my contribution and I want the glory for it. Make sense? Same thing let's talk about and I'm not going to go through all the signs. I know you want me to. I don't have time, I can't and I'm sorry about that. I am trying to get there, but I'm not there quite yet.

Speaker 1:

Let's talk about, though, if Pluto, aquarius, is over in your seventh house, you know your partner might be saying something like you're making selfish demands. What I'm fighting for is the good of our relationship. And you're like no, no, no, no, in this case, I want what I want. I want credit for what I've done. I want things to go my way and your partner is like that's selfish, right? I think that kind of thing is going to be coming up. It's like the war between what is right for some bigger picture sense of it, and there's going to be some other who claims to be fighting for that, against you, trying to get what you believe you deserve. Does that make sense? I know it's a little bit difficult, but it's very, very big. It's going to last for a while. So I'm trying to give you enough info that, whatever this is for you, you can kind of wrap your head around it.

Speaker 1:

Ultimately and this is true anytime we have signs in. I mean, this is like obvious, right, we have planets in opposing signs, but what's important to keep in mind is, in astrology, yes, we do look at it as like opposing signs, but we also look at it as an axis. These opposing signs are not unrelated to each other. They're like equal and opposite complements. The truly best answer to whatever we're going to be engaged in this week is going to be to find the middle ground. I do believe that our Mars is a little bit I want to say more honorable, but that's probably not exactly right. I don't want to think that each of us is out there not getting the recognition that we deserve, but ultimately, the best, the truly most noble answer to this. Whatever struggle, fight, tension, war we're in, the best answer is going to be to find the middle ground.

Speaker 1:

How do I get what I deserve in this situation? And still, you know, meet you halfway, pluto, and say, yes, whatever is going on over there in that opposite house, let's go back. Let's go back to that work analogy. Yes, I want credit for my project, I want credit for this amazing thing that I did right, or the work that I've been doing here. But how do I also honor the team right? How do I also bring in that other side, that Aquarian side? Or how do I now take this thing that I've launched, that I got credit for, and now expand it so that it's sort of bigger than me and will be a good thing for the company, the unit, the team, whatever moving forward, and apply that to any situation, right? Seventh house relationships yes, I have my needs met and I'm getting credit for what I have done for this relationship or contribute or whatever it is. But how do I also honor that Aquarian side, that opposing side in this case and find a way to now do what's right, moving forward for the partnership, for our relationship. And that would be the same in any of the houses.

Speaker 1:

It's an interesting one to think about for the sixth and twelfth houses. The sixth house is physical health, for example. It's many things, but one of the things is physical health. The twelfth house is mental health, and again it's many things. So I want to honor my physical health routines. I want to exercise and eat right and do all the stuff. But how do then I sort of look ahead and say, how do I also bring my mental health into this picture? Okay, I've got my physical routine where Mars is right, I'm all fired up and I'm working out at the gym and I'm doing all of that. But the 12th house is about mental health and it's about solitude and quiet time. How do I also now honor that? Do you see what I'm saying? So I really think that finding that balance between the two is important, but I think that that rests on us getting the recognition in whatever house Leo is in.

Speaker 1:

I don't think the two houses are equal in this one, and you won't find me saying that often, but I do think ultimately we're headed for balance. So I hope that is helpful, and I am not going to end this time by saying count to three or any of that, because this is a fated battle. It's one of three times that these two planets meet up and oppose each other, and so I'm not going to say count to three, because I think this is a fight that needs to be fought and from this one, this final bout, we move forward All right. So I think it's an important week of challenge, but I'm not going to say count to three. I'm going to say keep your punches above the belt and fight with honor. I hope that's helpful and I hope your week is productive, honorable, I don't know. I hope your week is something good and with that, until next week, go out and seize the energies of the stars. This is my wish for you always, and I will see you on the other end. Bye.
