Trust Your Intuition When the Sun Goes Dark
The stars are aligning for profound change as we navigate another eclipse week from September 21-27. The partial solar eclipse in Virgo brings complex cosmic energies that challenge us to release what we've been desperately clinging to—whether it's a relationship that doesn't serve us, a career that looks right on paper but feels wrong in our soul, or self-images that no longer fit who we're becoming.
Saturn's opposition to this eclipse creates a powerful tension between our desire to maintain control and the universe's call to surrender to our spiritual path. While Virgo energy wants to fix everything with better planning and analysis, the North Node in Pisces reminds us that some journeys require faith, intuition, and letting go of the need to understand everything logically.
Solar eclipses temporarily obscure our light source, creating confusion before clarity emerges. This week's celestial events will likely reveal truths we've been avoiding—the lover who never truly met our needs, the dream house we can't actually afford, or the creative project that's reached a dead end. These revelations may be painful, but they're fated occurrences designed to redirect us toward our authentic destiny.
The additional kite formation involving Mercury, Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune adds another layer of complexity to an already intense week. Give yourself permission to rest, process emotions, and connect with water or nature as you navigate these transformative energies. Remember that eclipse effects unfold over time—this is part of a series continuing throughout the coming year, so you don't need to process everything immediately.
Trust that even when the path ahead seems unclear, these cosmic shifts are guiding you toward something better. Book a personal session if you need help understanding how this eclipse affects your individual chart, and join the conversation on Substack to share your experiences during this powerful astrological period.

Hello and welcome to Pisces Moon Astrology. I'm your astrologer, kate Leonard, and I'm excited to explore the stars with you. Hi everyone, welcome to the week of September 21st through September 27th, and you know what that means. This is, yet again, eclipse Week. Oh my gosh, will it never end? No, it won't. That's how it works, so let's get into it. It's a very complicated cosmos this week. Yeah, let's get into it.
Speaker 1:So first let me just thank you for being here. Sorry I had to miss last week, but I was at the International Herbal Symposium and it was fantastic. So I don't talk about it really on this podcast, but I'm also an herbalist and I'm a certified flower essence practitioner, so sometimes I have to put on that other hat and unfortunately this time it took me away from you and I really did miss you. Thank you for being here. I'm super excited to pick things back up again and you know what I'm going to say. It helps me so much if you share the podcast with other people, if you make comments, rate it, do all the things. It really helps me get my work out into the world and I'd be really grateful if you did that. All right, so let's get on with it. We got too much to talk about.
Speaker 1:This is a partial solar eclipse on September 21st. It is happening in Virgo, yes, so this is the bookend. This is the opposite of the total lunar eclipse in Pisces we just had a couple of weeks ago. This is intense. You know, we've got Saturn opposing the moon and in the sign of the North Node, which I like to call the North Node of Destiny. So it's really complicated and, honestly, that's not even the half of it. There's all kinds of other stuff going on.
Speaker 1:One of the bigger things going on this week, in addition to what we're going to be talking about, is that there's this kite happening, and we talked about kites a few weeks ago. They are generally a very uplifting kind of energy, like a kite soaring in the sky. Right, in this case we're talking about Mercury in Libra, pluto in Aquarius, saturn in Pisces. So this connects the kite to the eclipse. Right, because Saturn is part of both Uranus in Gemini and Neptune in Aries. It's a lot. But again, generally kites, they have one main opposition and then all of the other angles are really positive angles. So we do soar, but this week I don't know, because the eclipse is involved and so it's super complicated and I think that's one of the big things I want to say about this week. It's super complicated.
Speaker 1:So I'm not going to talk about the kite in today's episode because that would just make it way way too long. Let me know by going over to Substack Pisces Moon. Now. My Substack doesn't go up until Sunday, so you guys get the information first here. But if you go over to my Substack on Sunday or any time after that and leave me a comment saying that you want an episode on the kite, I am happy to do that. But I need to hear from people that you want that. Okay. If you want me to talk about the kite, I will. It's just too much to do here.
Speaker 1:But again, I want to really stress that the energy this week is complex. So if you're feeling kind of like, wow, this seems so much bigger than a partial eclipse, which generally hit us not so hard, it's because there are just so many. Even the kite, that's not even all of it. There are a million things going on in the sky this week and I think we're going to feel that as much as we feel any of the separate pieces, I think we're going to possibly be exhausted. So if that's you, give yourself time to rest I think we're possibly going to feel sort of just overwhelmed and again, take care of yourself. This just is the energy, and this week I really think we're going to need a little extra downtime, self-care. Yeah, just be gentle with yourself. There's a lot going on, okay. So that's a big takeaway, but now let's get into the actual eclipse and talk about what that's going to bring.
Speaker 1:So the normal stuff. This is an eclipse, which means that there are going to be faded events, things that are really outside of our control, and control is the other key word for this week. The eclipse is actually happening in Virgo, so, right there, we know there are control issues, right, because that's always the case, but eclipses do make things happen that are intended to just sort of shove us in the right direction. So that's another. I know I'm going to keep saying this over and over. This is a takeaway and that's a takeaway. Remember, I said it's another. I know I'm going to keep saying this over and over this is a takeaway and that's a takeaway. Remember, I said it's complicated, but this is another thing that we need to remember no matter how weird this week might get. We've got fated events going on and they're actually in our best interest. They are meant to give us that shove we need. Even though we may not know we need it right now or we may not like it, it's going to give us that shove we need to send us down the path toward our destiny. So these are really corrective energies and we need to remind ourselves when they get sort of yucky. We need to remind ourselves that ultimately, we will all be glad that the events of this week happen.
Speaker 1:So some more of the basics. This is a south node eclipse. These are always about letting go, and I know this is going to sound a little bit redundant, because remember, when we did the total lunar eclipse in Pisces, we were talking about moving away from that Virgo energy toward the Pisces energy, where the North Node is. Well, it's the same thing. These are bookends, right? This is a set so themes that we've been dealing with all month. They're going to keep going on, right, we're still in that energy, but now it's a little bit more focused on the letting go. I guess that's how I would say it, because the eclipse is actually with the south node. So it's all that Virgo stuff attention to detail, meticulous planning, control, all of that Virgo energy, that energy that makes Virgos really good administrators and managers. Something in that is what we need to let go of.
Speaker 1:Now, one of the problems, one of the many problems. This is a partial, but it's a solar eclipse. We always see things more clearly after a solar eclipse, but first we generally go through some confusion when we're not seeing things so clearly because, remember, the sun is eclipsed, even if only partially. Part of our light, part of our vision is obscured. So expect for some confusion to come up and expect that we're going to have to look at situations in different ways. That's another theme of solar eclipses. We have to adjust our vision because the normal sunlit path is obscured.
Speaker 1:Another thing to remember is that a solar eclipse is a new moon. So for all you people setting intentions in the new moon energy I don't know my advice might be skip it. But if you're not going to skip it I know a lot of people just generally don't do woo-woo practices during eclipses, and there's good reason for that. But if you're not going to skip it, remember that this new moon is about letting go, seeing things differently. It's also about releasing control. So if you were going to set a new moon intention around those kinds of topics, that might work out just fine. You do, you? I think I'm skipping, so let's get into some of the things that are not going to work well this week.
Speaker 1:Clinging is not going to work. This is about release. That's what the south node is and remember, this is something we're probably not seeing completely clearly and that's going to be the part that I think is going to be difficult and maybe even painful for some people because we're not seeing it clearly. So we're clinging on to something that we believe we should cling to right, or that we don't recognize. We're clinging to Something like that. Visibility is poor. This could be anything. Look at what house Virgo occupies in your chart. That'll give you a big hint on what needs to get tweaked here. But it could be our image. We're clinging to a certain image, to power, to a person. That's going to be a hard one for a lot of people this week. I know from working with clients this is already in the works and, yeah, it could be a goal that we've held for a long time that we're clinging to a particular way of doing things, that we're clinging to a particular way of doing things anything. Look at that house placement.
Speaker 1:For some of us we're going to know more easily than others because, again, it depends on how the eclipse works in your natal chart. So some of us are going to kind of get it. It doesn't mean we're going to like it, it doesn't mean we're going to stop the clinging and release more easily, but we'll kind of be like, yeah, I sort of know what the thing is. Other people are going to be like me I don't cling, I'm a go with the flow kind of girl. Yeah, yeah, those people are going to have a way harder time.
Speaker 1:Prepare to see the thing that you don't want. Now, you probably know you've probably had doubts, you've probably had little suspicions, but it's that lover who never really has given us what we need, has always kind of caused insecurities. You know that lover. But we know we can make it work. You know that one. Yeah, the house that we're living in that we know we can't actually afford, but we love it and we don't want to move and moving is such a hassle.
Speaker 1:It could be a job. That's a good job. I wish you could see me doing the bunny ears. You know that good job that you don't actually love, but you love the paycheck and you love the security. It's very Virgo to want to be very earthy and grounded about that. But maybe the job just kills your creativity or hurts your soul or you just don't really honestly vibe with it. Or, on the other end, the creative project I've been working on this play, this screenplay, this novel, this painting, whatever it is and I know I can get it to work Really.
Speaker 1:Sometimes creative projects have to just be put in the scrap pile, right, and it's never easy and it's never fun, and sometimes we just have to know that we're at that place. Yeah, it's those kind of things that this week could very likely bring up. We're just forced. That lover who's never, ever given what you need, that lover is going to do a thing that finally can't be ignored, that you can't explain away. The boss at that dead-end job or maybe it's not even dead-end, maybe it's just not right for you, right, but that boss is going to be a new level of jerk Something is going to come up where you have to look at it differently and you have to let it go. And yikes, who likes doing that? If we wanted to let it go. We would already done so, right. So it can be rough. I'm just saying it can.
Speaker 1:Now, before we get too down, because I am going to talk about one more, even more yucky thing. Maybe Not more yucky, absolutely not more. But I'm going to talk about one other kind of harsh part about all of this. But do remember, stay with me, don't get depressed. We are moving toward that. Pisces spirituality this week is just helping us get there, okay. So hold on, we're going to talk about Pisces in just a minute, but before we do remember that Saturn opposition I mentioned earlier. Saturn is down with the North Node in Pisces, opposing the new moon eclipse.
Speaker 1:So what is Saturn? Well, he's a lot of things. We've been talking all year about restructuring and boundaries and redrawing our boundaries, and those issues could absolutely come up. But Saturn also rules legacy and the past and the way things have always been, the old ways. So this is another thing that we need to sort of put into the mix. What things are we clinging to? Just because that's what we've always done? I've always lived in this house, I've always worked in this kind of job. I've been in love with this partner for a gazillion years. You know that sense of longevity or some situation that we're in, having history with it. But when we really think about it the history is not that great. But Saturn wants to hold on.
Speaker 1:Saturn doesn't, you know, like just changing course. It's like steady, straight ahead kind of guy and Virgo likes to cling, because Virgo is very much about no, I can make it work, virgo's the brain. It's ruled by Mercury. Right, it's that I can, I'll just make a better plan. That's not going to do it. We have Saturn and we have Virgo kind of pulling us into that. If I just work harder, stick it out, I can do it. And I promise you you can't, you can't. It's time to let go. And how do we do that?
Speaker 1:We use Saturn's good qualities down in Pisces, all right, as an opposition to the moon. Saturn's not a good guy. But Saturn on his own is hard work and discipline and reaching goals. But it's the Piscean goals, not those Mercury mind plans, logical thinking kind of goals. It's Pisces, it's spirituality, it's trusting your intuition. Pisces is ruled by Jupiter, the planet. So it's just having faith that your heart will take you in the right place.
Speaker 1:But you first have to see it clearly and recognize that, that relationship, that job, that image you have of yourself, that whatever it is. It's that, yes, you want it to be that, but it just isn't. So we first have to do that hard bit about looking at the truth, and then we have to dream and we have to get into our intuition and we have to, you know, meditate or pray or whatever the thing is. You do that's in that spiritual realm and the work that you put in there and I know it sounds kind of wrong, but there is such a thing as spiritual work so it may be. You know that you're not really feeling like going to meditation class today. Do people do meditation classes? I don't even know if that's a thing. Maybe you don't feel like sitting alone and meditating. Maybe you don't exactly feel like doing any kind of deity work, if you're into that kind of thing. But learning to trust that this is going to be okay and you know what Saturn does reward hard work. But Saturn is also slow and values taking things slowly. So that hard work, that getting back to spiritual center or getting in touch with intuition, so that it can lead you forward, that doesn't all have to be completed this week. We're still in this eclipse series for all of next year, right? So it doesn't all have to happen now.
Speaker 1:Rest, take your time. If you're kind of bummed from what the week is bringing up for you, let yourself mourn the loss. It's okay to say I know I have to let go of him, it her, that whatever it is, but I'm not happy about it. I don't have to have a party for it. Maybe you need to go lay down. Maybe you need to go lay down.
Speaker 1:It's Pisces. Try things like walking by the ocean or lake or whatever's around you. Take some time in nature, even if that's a city park. Take care of yourself, but lean into your intuition and trusting that this is all going to turn out for the best, because it is. This is fate, this is our destiny. Right, we got this, we do, and actually maybe it'll feel kind of good to get out of our brains for a little while. We got this.
Speaker 1:It's going to be a complicated week. It may not be so much fun. For some people. It's not going to be any kind of fun. Just keep telling yourself. You know in your heart what the right thing to do is and you trust that this is moving you towards something better. It is moving you toward your destiny. I promise you it will get better, it will get better.
Speaker 1:I hope the week is gentle for everyone, as gentle as it can be. I hope that we all are just, you know, swimming in the oceanic Piscean waters. That's my wish waters that's my wish honestly. I am hoping for gentle energy this week. Take care of yourselves. I'm really glad you're here. I'm really grateful for all of you. Book a session if you need a session. Sometimes having somebody help you analyze this stuff in your own chart can alleviate some of the fear and help you see with clarity earlier. So if you haven't done it yet, book a session. All the links are in the show notes and stuff like that. Okay, come talk to me on Substack. Let me know if you want an episode on the kite. That's happening this week. And yeah, that's all I got Until next week. Go out and seize the energies of the stars. This is my wish for you always, and I will talk to you soon. Bye.
