PiscesMoon Astrology
This Week Demands Patience, Strategy, And Calm
The sky turns up the heat and hands us a blueprint. Mars in Sagittarius squares Saturn in Pisces, and that friction shows up as the classic push-pull: urgent desire to move colliding with the demand to slow down and build it right. We unpack what that feels like in real life, from work sprints to holiday expectations, and share practical ways to steer through sharp turns without skidding. You’ll hear simple timing rules, de-escalation scripts, and how to frame a firm boundary with respect so you protect your energy and still honor what matters.
We also map the week’s Mercury action: a grounded link with Saturn for serious planning and contract clarity, a jolt from Uranus that delivers out-of-the-blue insights and plot twists, and a gorgeous trine to Neptune that fuels creative thinking and storytelling. Writers get a clear green light to draft boldly and edit wisely; everyone else gets fresh problem-solving and more imaginative options for the season. Add Venus squaring the North Node and you have a nudge toward necessary updates in love, money, beauty, and art—less autopilot, more alignment.
Underneath the tension is the gift: Mars supplies initiation and courage, while Saturn supplies structure and endurance. That combo is perfect for launching a project you intend to finish or reshaping a ritual you want to keep. We talk tactics for handling authority figures, navigating family traditions without a blowup, and starting new traditions that reflect who you are now. Press play to turn conflict into traction, insight into action, and a hectic week into a smarter, steadier path forward.

Hello and welcome to Pisces Moon Astrology. I'm your astrologer, Kate Leonard, and I'm excited to explore the stars with you. Hi everyone, welcome to the week of December 7th through December 13th. I'm just saying this week we've got the two malefics, and they are in an agitated state, both of them. What could go wrong? All right. You guys know I always try to make the best of the astrology and not because I'm just trying to keep everybody happy. I know I get accused of that all the time. It's really not the case. I'm actually not so upbeat when all is said and done. But I do feel that astrology, the cosmos, all of this stuff is here to help us grow, to show us how to grow. The reason my outro is that whole seize the energies thing is because I honestly believe that every cosmic alignment has a gift. It may be a gift that's hard to get to. It may not be fun, but there's a gift. I don't believe the cosmos is bad and mean and out to get us, right? This week, however, with all of that said, I am going to get to the gift. So let me let me just say, stay with me. It's not all bad. There is some good stuff coming. But on December 8th, we've got Mars, you know, the planet of war, the one that I always tell my clients, and I've said it on the podcast as well. Mars is either the noble warrior fighting for the good cause, or he's a psycho killer. He can be either, um, depending on who he's playing with and what how they're configured. Well, this week he's playing with Saturn, the greater malefic. And how are they aspecting each other in a square, you know, a square. So there will be good coming from this. And I am gonna talk to you later about how to use this cosmic energy well and and in a way that's truly productive and good. But I'm not gonna lie, this week is probably gonna be some kind of challenging, all right? So just get ready for it. Before we get into that, there's a lot of other stuff going on. Um, let me just give you some dates so that if you want to look this stuff up, Google it, whatever y'all do. On the 7th, Mercury is going to be in a good aspect with Saturn that's getting really serious about our thinking, that's having serious and important conversations. It's hard work paying off, especially when we're talking about really uh putting hard work into our plans and that kind of thing. Really, really good. Also finalizing contracts, those kinds of deals, really, really good energy. On the 10th, we've got Mercury, opposing Uranus, and yikes. The good thing is get ready for mental breakthroughs, breakthroughs in your ideas, right? Unexpected thoughts. We're just like, oh my gosh, I know the answer. Or how come I didn't think of that before? You know, it's the when you get those inspired ideas that seem to come out of nowhere and whatever, yeah, that that could be this, but it is an opposition. So also get ready to receive unexpected news. That's gonna happen. And yeah, get ready for conversations to go in ways that you hadn't planned and didn't see coming. So the opposition is not always that much fun, but I do think there's some really good stuff that comes out of the Mercury opposition to Uranus. Also on the 10th, Venus is going to square the north node of destiny. This could bring difficult but necessary adjustments to all things, Venus. Love, beauty, relationships, money, art, all the stuff. Difficult but necessary adjustments. So another one that I don't think we're gonna love it so much going through it, but it's got gifts. It brings gifts on the 11th. Mercury is going to shrine Neptune, Mercury, communication, all the stuff, right? Neptune fantasy. Writers, I I want you to hear me, all of my writer listeners. This is fiction. Whether you write for the stage, the screen, novels, whatever it is you write, stories, Mercury is the god of writing and Neptune is fiction. This is inspiration. It's beautiful. So this week get ready to really have breakthroughs and really go to creative, wonderful places with your writing. For the rest of us, if you're not a writer, you still get to have this transit. And it really is just going to allow us to tap into our creative thinking. That can be creative problem solving in our day-to-day lives, on the job, whatever it is, right? It's also maybe just this sense of coming up with really fun and creative things to do during the holidays. It's pretty glorious. But, writers, did you hear me? This is your week. Also, on the 11th, Mercury is gonna move into Sagittarius. So we're gonna start putting our focus on long-term planning. Mercury doesn't love Sagittarius. Let me just clarify that. Okay. Mercury loves Gemini, a sign he rules, right? He likes traveling, going all over the place, a little here, a little there. Let's talk about this, let's talk about that. He's not so comfortable in Sagittarius with all that long-term stuff, but still, it's gonna be a time when our thoughts, our conversations, our planning are gonna focus on the bigger picture. All right. Hope all of that made sense. Now let's get into this. Wow, the two malefics squaring each other. Okay, first, let me remind you what a square is, right? It's a 90-degree angle. So that right angle kind of thing. So imagine you're driving along full speed ahead, full speed ahead, whatever, you know, going fast, and you've got to make a sharp turn, and your car can skid out of or you can run over the curb or whatever. It's just not easy to navigate these angles. So there's always tension between the two planets. So I always say this, and I'm gonna remind us all this week in ancient astrology, any aspect was better than no aspect, right? No aspect gives us no room to talk, no room to think. There's no connection of any kind. So we've got nothing to work with. A square is not fun, usually. We've got to slow the card down and be really careful. And if we don't do it just right, we hit the street lights. I don't know. We hit the stop sign, something. But if you take your time, Mars doesn't want to do that. Okay, that's part of the problem. Squares are best if you're thoughtful. Take your time, steer your car carefully around the turn, right? The problem is Mars is involved. Mars just wants to slice and dice. He's got nothing to do with slow down and be careful. The good news is Saturn is all about slow down and be careful, right? Too much, if anything, about slow down and be careful. He rate, he rules time and age and longevity and things like that. So he'll help maybe, but I think more it's gonna be like that's part of the problem. The Mars wants to go, strike, do it now, right? The the game is on, boom, right? Those are the kinds of that's the energy that comes from Mars, where Saturn's about stop, let's think, slow down, let's build whatever it is we're doing very carefully so that it endures. And this push-pull kind of energy is gonna be at us all this week. Just know this isn't a single day. This is gonna be all week. The speed up to slow down, and it can be within ourselves, but more likely it's gonna be us versus somebody else. Look to see what houses these are impacting in your chart. Is work gonna be needing you to go fast and put in the hard hours and boom, get stuff done, get it out there. And your relationship is like, honey, let's have a snuggle by the fire night. You're like, no, I've got contracts to do, right? So it is more likely that it's either gonna be us in conflict with someone else, or two areas of our life that are not happy with each other and not playing well together. So you really, really have to look at your chart to see where this is hitting you. And just a reminder: Mars is in Sagittarius and Saturn is in Pisces. Here's the other thing: Saturn rules authority figures. So, regardless of what houses these two are showing up in your chart, this could be just a general kind of thing that we're facing this week. Mars is the youngster, right? The young'un who is impulsive and wants to move away. Saturn is authority figures. And so we might see that we are really struggling against people that someone that we see in a position of authority. This can be your boss, this can be a parent, this can be whoever. Um, depending on your relationships, you know, it could be a friend, a mentor, uh, it could be a spouse. I hope you don't see your spouse that way, but you know, hey, you do you. It's an authority figure. That's Saturn. And Mars wants nothing to do with it. So we've got this real clash here, and this is where it can start getting really, really difficult. The other thing is Saturn is the status quo, right? Saturn is longevity, it's the structure of our lives, it's tradition, the status quo, that thing that has always been. And we're like, no, I have my sword out. I want to slash it, burn it, and do something new. Yeah, well, the thing about the status quo is it's the status quo because it's been that way for a long time. And Mars has gone around a bunch, and the status quo is still that. It's still standing. So it's not easy. And this could be something I think it's interesting that this is coming up during the holidays for a lot of us. I'm thinking about the crazy that can happen around family holiday situations at the best of times. Are there ever the best of times during the holidays? Maybe. Or is that only my family? I don't think it is. Anyway, we're in a pretty split. I don't know how to say it. We we've got factions in our country, right? And people are feeling strongly about politics. I'm not, again, I'm not trying to bring up politics here, but I'm just talking about sitting around the Christmas dinner table. This could be the kind of thing we're talking about. I know this week is not Christmas, but you know what I mean. We're already starting to do the family, let's get together and go shopping. We're already starting to do all of that stuff. And yeah, I could see some tense conversations, but it could even be things like, you know, Christmas or other holiday traditions, right? The family always goes to Aunt Betty's house for Christmas Eve dinner, and you don't want to. Maybe you and your friends want to go do something different, you know, maybe you and your partner, maybe you alone, you know, you want to go on a retreat instead, you know, just by yourself to have some downtime. And it's like, no, the family always goes and does, you know, Thing X on Christmas Eve, you know, or whatever. We always plan our holidays this way. And you've got to break the news to them this week that it's like, yeah, count me out. Yeah, that's not gonna go easily. It's not gonna go easily. I am not in any kind of way telling you not to have that conversation. What I'm telling you is plan on it being heated. Mars is fire. So, yeah, it's that kind of thing. Going up against tradition, going up against the way things have always been. This can be in any area of life. Work with the kids, you know, with parents, wherever. Maybe you and your partner are um arguing because you have different competing family traditions around the holidays. Can be anything like that. And it doesn't have to be about the holidays. I just see so much potential for that kind of struggle. I can only say it's gonna be heated. There's gonna be some heated stuff that's gonna come up, and we're not gonna just sail through it. So, what is my advice to you? Anytime Mars is involved, my advice is cool down. If you're already feeling tense, don't take that minute to tell the family you're not going to the Christmas dinner, right? Wait till you're calm. Maybe don't do it as a conversation. You know, maybe that, I don't know, don't send an email. That's tacky. But you know what I mean? Like, like make sure you're in a space where you're set up for success and feel like you can mostly keep your cool while you're having that conversation. The problem with Saturn is it's inflexible. Saturn is the wisdom of age. So they're like unbending. It's like, no, this is how it's always been and always must be. If you find that you're up against that, just know that shouting them down is not the way to win. It is not the way to win. Can you frame the conversation in a way that honors tradition for them? Like, you know what? We have always loved that. And in we're gonna go on our retreat during these days. So unfortunately, we can't be at the family gift-giving thing. But can we do it where we do all our same stuff, but on this other date? Like, is there a way you can find compromise? This is that you're driving down the road, you've got to make this really tight turn. What do you do? You slow down, you steer carefully. That's what I think you need to do here because Saturn is no put, he's the greater malefic, all right? So we come out with our Mars fiery, like, I'm gonna change the world. And Saturn's like, yeah, bring it. So finding a way to talk to that person and um stand in front of that kind of energy and hold your ground. Mars is a warrior. You don't have to lose in this. I'm not saying that at all. But know who you're up against and set yourself up for success. But just expect, there's gonna be some tense stuff this week. I don't know how it's gonna come up for you. You gotta look at your natal chart, but it's gonna be tense. Now, I promised you the silver lining, right? And there is one. There always is. First, just going through this experience is gonna bring gifts, right? We grow from these kinds of experiences, right? What is that? Grow in the face of adversity or something like that? Yeah, do that thing. But the other thing is Mars is our ability to initiate, and Saturn is stick to it. Dealing with other people is not the only way we get this energy. Do you have a project that you've got in mind that you've been wanting to launch? Maybe this is the week where you're like, I've got the energy to initiate this, I've got the energy to take those first steps. Saturn's also here, giving you the stick to it, the ability to climb the mountain and reach the mountaintop. Again, it's a square that's not going to come easily. So even where the silver lining is, you may be like, oh, I got started, but now I don't know what to do. There will be something you have to do to navigate this. But the two energies working together are really, really quite good or can be. So um, the other thing that's good, going back to that whole holiday tradition thing, this is a good time to initiate your own things that you want to do, like during the holidays or whatever, that will become your own traditions. Maybe this is the time to finally break free of all the old weird stuff you've been doing with your family. Create your own really meaningful rituals and kinds of parties and who you want to celebrate with and all the stuff, right? Whatever it is, that will be your ongoing traditions moving forward. That's a really beautiful way to use the Mars and Saturn. I love that, don't you? Anyway, I hope this made sense. It's it's a tense week. There's gonna be the need for skillful driving, right? There's gonna be the need to skillfully maneuver through this tense energy. And like I said, my best advice is just don't speak if you don't feel ready. You know, like make sure you're good, your feet are on the ground, you're solid before you kind of launch into this stuff. If you get that opportunity, it may be that it all just blows up and we're gonna all figure out what to do on the other end, but there will be another end and we will grow and learn from whatever we're going through this week. So thank you for being here. Thank you for sticking this out. I would love it so much and be so grateful if you would share the podcast. That would help me out more than I can even tell you. And don't forget, my prices are going up in January. So get on the books now. Anything you book, you can book all the way into next year, 50 sessions if you want, and you will get the old prices. But anybody booking from January on, you're gonna get the new prices. So get on my calendar and until next week. Go out and seize the energies of the stars. This is my wish for you always. And yeah, we'll make it through. I'll talk to you next week. Bye.
