Waves in April ~ The next generation of TEXAS METAL HEADS!

As described in their Spotify bio, Waves in April is a Metalcore band hailing from New Braunfels, Texas, mixing heavy guitars and screaming with melodic choruses. The group is inspired by their favorite bands ranging from Motionless In White and Make Them Suffer to Linkin Park, playing shows and music festivals from Texas to Florida and everywhere in between.

We've followed the music career of two band members, Dierks and Willy Canada for several years.  We watched them grow up playing on stage with their dad Cody Canada and his band The Departed, from Idaho to Florida and Texas. The band met at The School of Rock in New Braunfels, TX where they were students. The school gave them the opportunity to develop their musical skills and talents, and now they share what they learned with the students working as instructors.

We sat down with Dierks and Willy along with mom Shannon in an earlier episode #16 here on Musical Miles Podcast. On a recent trip to Texas we caught up with all 4 of the bandmates in New Braunfels to discuss their upcoming sold out show at the legendary Gruene Hall and the future plans for Waves in April.
