The Profitable Creative

Oklahoma native Matt Payne is a filmmaker to his core, with an impressive list of credits and achievements across a multitude of creative businesses.

During a 15-year stint in Los Angeles, where he worked in both television and film, Emmy award-nominated Payne racked up credits as a writer, a documentary filmmaker, an award-winning travel photographer and writer, public speaker and adventurer. Payne, a graduate of the film school at the University of Oklahoma, returned with the goal to create an industry that empowers other storytellers, allows them to be the mentors they wish they’d had, and to help shape the rapidly expanding entertainment industry in Oklahoma. He’s a member of the Writers Guild of America, the Society of American Travel Writers, is a regular speaker at the deadCenter Film Festival, and sits on the board of directors of the Oklahoma City Zoological Society as well as the Moderns board at the Oklahoma Museum of Art.
