Mystery Pie
Welcome to Mystery Pie, where the bizarre becomes reality and the hidden is revealed. You're not crazy for what you've experienced, there are countless others who share your encounters but remain silent, afraid of ridicule. This podcast is a sanctuary for those fringe stories.
We explore the unsettling: interdimensional travel, government coverups, military secrets, ancient technology, and conspiracies buried deep within society. These are the stories that nightmares are made of. In a world that has programmed us to forget ancient truths, we find ourselves trapped in a Darwinistic, materialistic age that has deliberately distanced us from the deeper realities of our existence.
At Mystery Pie, we unravel the tangled web of deception, searching for answers in a supernatural realm filled with paranormal activity. Join us as we pray together, sharpening one another as remnant warriors standing against the darkness. We contemplate the feeling of homesickness for places we’ve never been and the longing for people we’ve never met, echoes of something lost but not forgotten.
Until we find the answers, everything remains a mystery.

Welcome to another episode of Mystery Pie I'm Testimony. If you want to be on the show and tell your testimony, we want to hear from you. Email the show at MysteryPyPodcast at ProtonMail.com. That's MysteryPyPodcast at ProtonMail.com. Now, tonight's show is crazy, you guys. So, way back in the 70s and 80s, Wiki boards were a big deal back then. And it seemed like all the kids were playing them. I stayed away from them for good reasons. And in this intro with me and Outcast, you're going to hear all about it. And I can't wait for you guys to get into the episode tonight. This story of Wiki Dave here. Talking about the Wizie boards and the things that he went through, using them and playing them with his friends. Perfect spoofie for this time of year. And uh, you know, thanks to you. You know Dave personally. You you've you've spent a lot of years around him. And I know that you have stories that you got into them too about some of the people, the characters that are in tonight's show.
SPEAKER_00I like it. Yeah, I just found it because like I said in the episode, if you looked into it on the time, after Dave told me this tutorial, it impressed upon me so heavily that I went and I told other people that were open-minded about these things. And they all had a tie in. I didn't I mentioned a couple of months on the topic so that 13 to 4 people that I ran into. Uh 145 by 13 German, 15 people 35 by 50, it was a great guy. I told them data stories like that reminds me of just a story that happened to me when I was in the military. I'm not saying it's like the correct kind of data story, but it's something that a story of the thermal events of this guy that does happen to me over and over again when telling the story.
SPEAKER_0177 years bad luck.
SPEAKER_00Literally, he had to do the matter to figure out seven years.
SPEAKER_01And you know what? He figured that out right now, it's still alive on uh when we were started. I uh another thing too is the uh the audio. When you guys were listening to the audio, I had to do a lot of repairing recalls because it was all one on one track. And I was on a good microphone, and you guys were on the regular cell phones. So the audio was a little goofy that I had to mess with. I think it sounds pretty good now. It's an obvious difference than what we have right now with these two fights.
SPEAKER_00But it's not very line of 230.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, I well, uh, I'm excited for everybody to do this episode. It's a good it's a really good one. What's the idea of good?
SPEAKER_04All right, here we go. Ellie. Ellie was living in Travis City before I knew her. Oh, she related this story to me when her and I had decided to start messing around with a Ouija board. Let me tell you the story that happened to me. Might want to rethink this. Sadly, I didn't. Uh this is Ellie's story. Where it all begins. Lived up in Traverse City, and she had an Ouija board. She actually had a friend. She would do it alone by herself, would contact his friend regularly. Friend it apparently. Civil War era, died in prison. She talked to him.
SPEAKER_03Huh.
SPEAKER_04And then he he revealed a little bit more information about himself.
SPEAKER_01Alright, so what's missing in context there, because his uh Dave's connection was pretty rough, is that Ellie was contacting is a old Confederate Civil War vet. So let's let this play through and get into the next part of it.
SPEAKER_04And then he started to come on to her. Uh wasn't cool with that at all, you know. Said he wanted to be with her. And that just kind of made her blood run cold, and she's like, you know, oh, this ain't cool. Put the Ouija board away. And that was the end of it for a bit. So Ellie's at work, you know. She's she's put the Ouija board behind her, she's not gonna mess with it. And one day this little dog comes walking in, you know. And it doesn't have a tag on it, so they get it a collar and a leash, and uh, you know they tie it up at the at the post office and put signs out and put an ad in the paper. And nobody ever claimed claimed the dog. So Ellie would take the dog home with her at night and bring it back the next day. And after about a week or two of this, she decided, you know, I think I'm gonna keep the dog. So she did, and she named the dog Finnegan, and everything was fine. She liked the dog. Everything's good. But for some reason, she kinda missed her old friend. She just got to wondering about that. So she tried contacting him. And he wouldn't answer. And she tried again and he wouldn't answer. And she thought, you know what, that's that's kind of odd. And then uh he did. He answered her, but he and she said, You know, why why where have you been? Why wouldn't you answer me? And he was like, Well, where did you go? And she said, Well, you kind of freaked me out. She was calling him to the Ouija board, her old friend, and he said, That's that's no longer my name. And she said, Well, what is your name? And he answered, Finnegan. And that's the name that she had given the little dog.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04And she looked down, and that dog is sitting down at her feet, staring up at her with big, wide, adoring eyes. And she's like, Nope. And she walked over, opened the front door, opened the gate, and she said the dog walked out, didn't look back, and she never saw the dog again. Holy cow wandered down the road.
SPEAKER_01That's freaky.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and she she didn't mess with the Ouija board again. Part two. Ellie moved down to Shelby Township area to get a job. And we ended up working together.
SPEAKER_01What year are we in now?
SPEAKER_04About 1983. How old are you, Dave? Uh, that would make me 23. Yep. And I was living in uh in Pontiac in my brother's basement, and a room was filled full of motorcycles and a mattress.
SPEAKER_02Perfect for you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, perfect. I was happy. And uh she was living, you know, with friends, and I think she was more or less kind of living in her van because she was traveling back and forth from West France to travel city. So I conducted to uh to rent a room, you know, for my brother, you know. Which he was all about, if she rented a room. And things are, you know, for my brother's house, uh, you know, situation. But uh one of the companies for the uh contact, you know, and if you know we're gonna confirm how we're sitting in the house. Yeah, that'd be fine, you know. So hey, I'm gonna be staying in the right new work. You know, I'm gonna be staying over here at this house, you know, for a couple weeks. Uh you want to come? Yeah, that'd be awesome. You know, and then you get out of my brother's house. So uh, yeah, we go to this house. And she goes, here I'm staying in this classroom. You can stay in any room you want. And I remember I went to the house, I got my golf bug, you know. I'm like, yeah, this is gonna be great. You know, we're just gonna hang out. And she shows me the master bedroom, and I walked in. And it's it's I wasn't thinking ghosts or anything. I'm just I just like, nope. I just felt weird about staying in somebody else's bedroom or something, you know. I got this uh instant nope, not gonna stay in there.
SPEAKER_01Was it just a feeling? A feeling came over you. It's your gut feeling, right? Okay.
SPEAKER_04And I'm like, you know, I'll just sleep on the couch. And she's like, you sure? I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine. I'll just sleep on the couch. Back then, you gotta understand you gotta understand, you know, it's it's not like TVs these days and stuff. I remember this house actually had a TV, and the remote for the TV was like a uh extension cord that ran across the floor of the living room, you know, to a big box, you know. The TV itself had those um was like an old clock radio, you know, where they got those sheets that keep on falling down to change the numbers. That was how you change the channels.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04So I'm I'm watching the TV, and the TV keeps on changing channels. Well, the people had warned Ellie. They said the house is kind of weird, it gets these power surges, you know, it's okay, you know, you don't have to check the fuse box or nothing, it's fine. Well, I've you know, I tried watching TV, but I couldn't get the damn TV on a single channel, you know, it kept on flipping. And that the TV is actually changing channels, you know. It's it's clicking over to another channel, like mechanically.
SPEAKER_02Right. What's unique about that, Dave, is that uh, you know, a remote control. I remember in the 70s, we had one of the early remote controls, and it was a sound thing. So certain sounds might churn change a channel, but if you have a cord, it's the physical action of pushing the button that would change the channel. It would those didn't change on their own with a flash of light or a uh a sound frequency, correct?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, you it's gotta be you gotta push a button.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's totally totally mechanical and not electronic.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, totally manual, yeah. And and the button, of course, is gonna trigger an electrical surge, or you know, okay to to do it, but I'm just thinking it's electrical surges, but just the same. It was annoying as hell. You know, I was kind of cold in this house, didn't feel right, couldn't watch TV. I spent one night and I was like, yeah, I'm not really digging this. You know, I'm just gonna go back to my brother's place. So it just kind of creeping me out and just not comfortable. Yeah, you know. So Ellie invites this other girl that we work with, Karen, to come stay with her at this house. Now, Karen came from a little house in Roseville with like, you know, a mom and dad and seven kids in a two-bedroom house, a little bungalow. You know, so they had kids stacked on top of kids, you know.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04Karen's about the same age too, she's about twenty. And she's like, Yeah, yeah, I'm on it. I'm on it, you know, two weeks away from from mom and dad's house, fantastic. So Karen goes to this house, and after a day or two, you know, I'm having lunch with Karen, and she says, you know, don't tell Ellie. She goes, but I think that house is haunted. And I'm like, no way, I thought you know, I felt uncomfortable there too. And she's like, Yeah. I go, where are you at? And she goes, I I got the master bedroom. She goes, I woke up the other night and I swear the telephone by the bed was levitating.
SPEAKER_03Oh boy.
SPEAKER_04Whoa. And I'm like, could you have dreamed it? She goes, Yeah, but I I swear I seen it, you know? And I'm like, man, that's so weird. And the next day, I'm having lunch with Ellie, or I'm on break with her. And she goes, you know what, don't tell Karen. I'm like, no way. Oh boy. And she's like, Yeah. I I think that house is haunted. She goes, it's it's so strange. I feel like I'm being watched. She goes, I go to the bathroom to take a shower, and the bathroom door, I latch it, you know, and the bathroom door keeps opening them up. She goes, they got a big brass duck in there, like a door stopper. She goes, I closed the door, I latched the door, and I put the big brass duck in front of the door, and I get out of the shower, and the door is open. And she asked Karen, did you have anything to do with that? And Karen's like, no, no, I didn't. So I was like, You you gotta talk to Karen and Karen, you gotta both talk, and they agreed, you know, okay, yeah, yeah. This is weird.
SPEAKER_01So how long at this point, how long was Ellie how long has she been staying out? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04This is probably about say three or four.
SPEAKER_01For Ellie?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and Karen.
SPEAKER_01Wow, so what's happening?
SPEAKER_04Karen filled in right after I was out.
SPEAKER_01It's happening right away.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04Now, neither one of them really felt like they were in danger. They were like, yeah, there's something going on in the house, but they were they still preferred that to their personal living situation. You know, so they were like, no, we're we're gonna stay. You know, it's just kind of interesting. Well, that weekend, you know, after week one, they decided to have kind of uh uh you know card, you know, cards night, you know, kind of a party, you know. Invited a couple people over, my brother being one of them, and uh I don't play cards, I've never enjoyed cards. But I decided to drop by and have a couple of beers. And they they were playing cards, and I remember the the cat jumped up on the table, and my brother switched the cat off the table. And the lights in the kitchen dimmed, you know, or in the living room. And that happened a couple of times, and then I I noticed, you know, it's one of those, you know, round dimmer knobs. It's again, it's it's not a power surge because those things only go so far, you know. They don't you can't spin them around forever. They got an on and an off position.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_04And that dimmer was going back down. It wasn't a power surge, you know. That knob was moving.
SPEAKER_01You mean it's physically scrolling backward?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yeah, I'm talking about the round old-fashioned dimmer knobs.
SPEAKER_03You know? Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04So then so then I went to watch it and nothing happened. You know? Well, all right. I'm out of here. You know, uh going to meet up with my friends to do some drinking and go probably down to Bookie's, you know. So, so that was it. You know, I'm out of there. So Ellie's friends came home, you know. They stayed the whole two weeks, her and Karen, you know, nothing bad happened to them. They just felt a little freaked out, you know. So Ellie's friends come home. And she asked them, she's like, This house is haunted, isn't it? And they're like, Yeah, yeah, definitely. We've known about it. She's like, Well, why didn't you tell me? You know, and they're like, Well, because it's not harmful, you know, we've never felt in danger these oh need danger from them, and you know, we figured so you know, she kind of got a chuckle out of that, both her and Karen, you know. And uh I'm telling Yellow tells me the story, you know, and I'm like, man, we should get a Ouija board.
unknownOh boy.
SPEAKER_04I've had no bad experiences. And she's like, Well, let me tell you. And she tells me the story of Finnegan. And I'm like, no, we we still need to find out, you know, we should do this. It's like the next day, you know, this this punk rock guy that I knew, arc, you know?
unknownMm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Out of out of the blue, for no reason, he calls me up and he's like, hey man, I was uh getting the Christmas decorations at Winchester Mall. You know, he worked at the big boys at Winchester Mall.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And he goes, I was up in the attic, and uh, I found this Ouija board up there. He goes, You want to play? I'm like, no way. I go, let me tell you a story, man. And he's like, Oh, that's too cool, you know. You got you you gotta do this. But he got some friends. He got this girl, Renee. She was a white witch. Got Wayne, Art, me and Ellie. Tell them the story. We're real serious about finding out who's in this house, you know?
SPEAKER_02Now, now for for the listeners, I I want I like to paint pictures sometimes. So, uh, real quick, I I know, I know Art, uh, Art and Wayne. They were in a legendary hardcore punk band uh in Detroit. Well, actually, they were from the Pontiac area, but they played in Detroit all the time, called Heresy of All Things. And uh uh so I know these guys, I know, I know Dave, I know some of these actors paint you a picture, it's 1983, and Art Ferguson has the perfectly charged, spiky GBH hair. If any of your listeners out there know who GBH is, he had perfectly spike hair, bullet belt, studs, oh yeah, the whole punk rock bit. They look like a scene right out of uh Night of the Living Dead. Is that the one with the punks in it? Right, Dave? Is that fair? Is that fair? Yeah, yeah. Okay, sorry, go ahead. I just want to paint that picture about Art and Wayne. All right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so so these are, you know, you're really tough guys, you know? And um nobody's ready for what happens next. They come over, we're we're the people are back living in the house. We can't do anything at the house. So we're in my basement room, in my brother's house, you know, in the basement, and we decide to have this seance. And we're all gathered around in a circle, and we're we're we're trying to raise the spirits from this house. And uh Wayne and some other guy that was there is they're like snickering, you know. They're like, woo, you know, in the background, and we're not getting anything. Yeah, we're not getting anything. And Renee's getting frustrated, you know. And uh I tell these guys, I'm like, hey man, you know, there's a 7-Eleven right now on the street. Why don't you guys go buy some beer and go hang out in the parking lot for a while, you know? Anybody who's serious about this, let's find out. So they split, and it was me, Renee, Allie, and my and we we try to raise the spirits from this house. Um so we tried doing this, and we we got a couple of messages, you know. The Ouija board was working, we got some kind of freaky messages, didn't make a whole lot of sense. And then all of a sudden, all of us felt like like a flash, like a uh almost like getting knocked in the head where you see stars, you know, like a surge. For real. And we're all like stunned, and when we come out of it, Ark, nail head, you know, GBH Mike Ark, is laying on the floor in the center of the circle in the fetal position, flying as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I'm I mean grief. I mean sobbing. He is inconsolable. Everybody's like art, art, art, you know, it's okay. It's okay, you know. We kind of comfort him, you know, and and it was like he doesn't even know we're there. He is just you know, sobbing, tears, crying. Never seen anybody. He's like that distraught. And then after a minute or two, you know, he came out of it and he was like, you know, oh my god. So embarrassed. Didn't know he's like, he he didn't know what he was crying about. He didn't know how he had got there, what had happened. But he was done. He didn't want to do with this. So they they packed up, you know, him and Renee. They went and met them other guys and they were out of there. So me and Ellie. We decide let's let's let's try this. Okay. I'm like, okay, you know I'm serious. You know I wanted to know what was there and I've done this before. I'm serious, I'm not playing any games, you know, I'm not gonna push the Wheezy board around. So we tried it. And the Wheezy, I don't know what you call the thing that you that thing just did right off the board. I don't I don't think uh I don't think we should be doing this. I don't think they would you know they want to talk. But all right, alright, I've I've seen enough tonight, you know. A couple days later, I happen to stop by my mom's house and go, okay, now let me introduce my mom. My mom has had a fair amount of experience with the occult. She used to study with lady, June Black, a psychic minister and an occult medium, and they helped people do outer body experiences and chain riding, uh traveling from one realm to the next when people get trapped. And my mom had helped her with that stuff for years. Well, I tell my mom about this house that I was at. And you know, my mom's eyes big like saucer's, and she goes, she goes, that house, does it have this feature in the front of it? Is it right off of this road between these two roads? Like, what are the odds of that? And I said, Yeah, yeah, it is. That's that is exactly the house. How do you know that? And she goes, that's that was June Black's house. June Black died at home from cancer in the master bedroom that I didn't feel comfortable.
SPEAKER_01Right, and Karen slept in there and the phone was levitating.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh-huh. Now now, Dave, Dave, didn't you tell me that at this uh June Black woman, she um she would help people clean spirits out of their houses and made a confession to your mom about where the spirits went. Yeah, she would help them on to the next round.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02But sometimes she said she couldn't get them to move on and didn't they come home with her?
SPEAKER_04Well, that's the thing, see. When you call a spirit forth, it can stay where it's at. If she welcomed a spirit into her house, it can stay in her house. Sometimes when she would bring a spirit forth, she would find out it didn't deserve to go to the next round. It had issues or it wasn't a good person. So June Black had a whole bunch spirits with unfinished business living in her house when she died.
SPEAKER_01Well, I can only imagine.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and that's that's the spirits that were in the house.
SPEAKER_02Okay. And didn't didn't you tell me that June had a uh a motto about never using Ouija's?
SPEAKER_04Yes, she did. She did. Thanks for bringing it up. So my mom, when I told her our plan to use the Ouija board, my mom said, absolutely not. Absolutely not. June Black used all sorts of mediums, but the one thing she always said was, do not use a Ouija board. Nothing good will come out of it. The spirits, they don't have knowledge of your future, you know, they're not all seeing beings. Ask them questions, they can't give you honest answers. What you do have is you have life and they don't, and they're jealous of it. And they they got nothing. They don't have a body, they don't have anything. But if you get a hold of them and they think they can mess with you, maybe you know mess with your head a little bit, you know. Yeah, they'll do that for entertainment. It's basically all they got. So you're not gonna get anything real out of them. And don't do it. And there's also bad spirits who can reach those two, and nothing good is gonna happen out of that either. So don't mess with the Ouija board. Armed with that knowledge from my mom, that she knew which house it was, and that that was June Black's house, and that these are real spirits. What did me and Ellie do?
SPEAKER_01You went right with it.
SPEAKER_04We immediately grabbed the Ouija board and decided to contact June Black. Oh no. Yep. Because me and Ellie made another attempt, and that's when the discs that you move around, just first we we trying to get hold of June Black, and we got yes, no Ouija symbol, and then off the board. We're like, yes, no Ouija symbol. We tried a couple more times. It was saying yes, tune black, no Ouija, and off the board. It got to where it was almost doing it violently. It's like no Ouija off the board. And we're like, okay, yep, we're done. That's it. Out of hold of tune black. Ain't gonna talk. He wants us off this thing. So that was it. We quit.
SPEAKER_02Now I'm uh if I may, I want to tell a couple stories, and then I might want you to chime in, Dave, because I think that you'll remember this. So you told me the story, and I sat down with Sam, uh local tattoo artist named Sam. You know, uh, I I think you know Sam, don't you, Dave? Yeah. So Sam came over to my house and we were having like a an art day where he's you know he wanted to work on some projects, and so did I. And I told him your story, and he looked at me and he says, You're not gonna this is this is crazy, but I gotta tell you a story about my dad. I'm like, what's that? He goes, Well, my dad, my whole life, my dad has collected Native American artifacts. And he said, I've never um been afraid of the the visage of a skull. Skulls don't scare me. But when I was a kid, my dad had two Native American skulls, and I could not be in the same room with those skulls. Okay, they filled me with some kind of dread. He said, Now, fast forward, I'm an adult now, my dad's elderly. My dad develops lung cancer. And he said, My dad never smoked a day in his life. So he gets on his uh his Native American collector board, wet board sites where they communicate and talk about stuff, and he finds this whole conversational thread about all these collectors that have Native American remains in their collection, and they all develop cancer andor other diseases. Sam's dad immediately went and sold his two skulls that he had in his collection, and his cancer went in remission, and his cancer's gone. Wow.
SPEAKER_03Really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Now what what what what rang with him with Sam and that whole story that you told that I told him was there's a little nugget in there that uh this can what was her name? This is Black, what was her first name? June? June Black. That June Black died of cancer. Oh. That was the thing that triggered him. So then I told so then I told your stories. There's a I I for now I'm gonna leave these people, uh, the details of these people's nameless because I don't know if they want to be on anything that's even remotely conservative. I'm not sure one way or the other, but there's a an outrageously wild metal band from Detroit, punk metal band, uh, with an outrageous name, and they they traveled all over the c the the world and they have a following, you know, small following of their own. And I told them the story, and they started relaying personal stories back to me. And my buddy Tim says from the band, he goes, Check this out. My old girlfriend and I rented a house in Hanframic, Michigan. And we went up in the attic, and the attic was painted black, and there were symbols that I've never seen before. Now, you're talking about a guy that plays like in a a punk death metal band, he knows what satanic symbolism uh is. He didn't he didn't recognize any of these. So I don't know if it was some kind of a meta, you know, voodoo or something from some other country that he wasn't familiar with, but there were symbols all over this attic. So they went up there with some friends and they started messing around with the Ouija board. Oh boy. So the Ouija went flying out of their hands, like your ex but just like your story, and they all started accusing each other. You did it, you were messing with it. No, it was you. So Tim and his girlfriend decided they made a pact amongst themselves that they were gonna go back up there just the two of them. Like me and Alan. Uh-huh. And he said, We're not going to um we're not gonna mess around. Yeah, we're not gonna push it. We're it we're making a pact between us that we're really trying to con So they went up there with this Ouija and they had similar experiences. Finally, the Ouija board went flying out of their hands. Yep. So so the dummies, just like you guys, sorry, just decided to hold hands in a stance type mode, uh, Tim and his girlfriend. And he said, just like your story goes, and we felt a physical jolt of electricity. Next thing you know, my girlfriend is on the floor in the fetal position, crying inconsolably. When I finally jarred her out of it, she just said she was filled with the worst fear and dread she's ever been, she's ever been felt in her entire life. Just like ours. Yep. Then he goes on to tell me, he goes, So then check this out. And now once again, there's all these tenuous stories ties to your story. So then he said um they had another there was another band from Boston that they were friends with that was like a like a very similar type band, and they would they would play shows out together out in Boston, and then that band would come to Detroit and play, and they decided that they would go um tromping around graveyards, historical graveyards in each city. That was their one of their hobbies. But anyways, um at one point they decided to do a photo shoot for their band, and they went into a crypt and uh the singer laid on his back and put his uh hands across his arms and rolled his eyes back in his head with his mouth open like he was dead on the floor in the crypt. And there's the rest of them are you know striking their death metal poses with their hands out and they're fullet belts and everything, right? Well, he said, Well, when they got the the photo back, their friend who took the photo had a very high-resolution digital camera. And there was an orb in the singer's mouth as he was laying there with his mouth open. So they so they zoomed it up. I mean, you could this camera was so uh it was such a high-end camera with high resolution, you could zoom up on it, and they zoomed right up on that orb, and it was actually reflecting light off his teeth. Off of what? Off of his teeth in the photograph. You could see light, the light from the orb was shining off of his teeth. So it wasn't it wasn't a fleck of dust, it was actually something, uh light in its mouth. And then a little side note, which which then I told you this, and then I'm gonna let you respond. Uh, he says, and right after that photograph was taken, I'm not kidding you, he said, this string of events started happening that led to all of our worst luck that we've ever had in our lives. He said, This guy's girlfriend cheated on him with this guy, and then this guy started sleeping with this guy, and then all of our friends that was our support for our band that followed us around, everything imploded. And then this guy ended up on the street, and then this guy, I mean, I'm I'm exaggerating maybe slightly, but he just said it was the worst, absolute worst luck they've ever had in their life. I turn around, come back to you, and I said, I start telling you these stories, and you said what about that?
SPEAKER_04All right, part three. Ellie died. How? Died in his sleep.
SPEAKER_02How long after?
SPEAKER_04About a year and a half. No explanation? And he and my boss, who was friends with her, went to her funeral, and we came back, and now Ellie had moved out of my brother's basement after that and taken an apartment. I followed her shortly thereafter, and she moved down to Florida, and then I'm getting a call. Ellie's dead. We went to her funeral, and then we came back to my apartment, and we were in my apartment, and now this is true, this is absolutely true. I had this alarm clock that was sitting on the mantle, and we you know, it had a lit up face, you know, and the clock is blinking, and it was not a clock, it's not a feature of the clock, it doesn't blink. But on this day of her funeral, the clock is blinking, and Jack asked my arm, and he's like, dude, look, we looked outside, and this is the only time in my life I have seen the sky a brilliant purple, it was just weird. And the the clock continued to blink about a week, hour, and it just stopped working. After that, the apartment that Ellie and I had burned down. And then I moved in with some friends in Detroit, and I got a pipe, an exhaust bum driving down the road, and the exhaust pipe comes flying through the air, comes through my windshield and hits me in the head. Oh, wow. And uh folds the car, you know, and car gets smashed up, you know, and then dogs run under my motorcycle, foot crushed at work, you know, then uh the basement flooded with my car in it. I mean, you know, you could say, well, you know, it's just natural ad hoc, and and it is, you know, but I had so much, you know, any one of these things, my apartment burned down or something, you know, could be, you know, like a landmark moment in somebody's life. But with me, it was every weekend. Jeez, this is crazy.
SPEAKER_02Every weekend. Didn't you tell me didn't you tell me that that lasted for ten years?
SPEAKER_04Well, the incident happened in '83 and it kept on going up until 1990. So, you know, seven years. Seven years bad luck. It just occurred to me now for the first time. And I'm just listing a couple of things off the top of my head. My lock was so bad that my friends had taken to calling me Slep Rock Blumrock. That little uh pebbles and bam bam character, you know, that used to walk around with a black cloud over his head. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, it was it was just never-ending bad luck. So here we are. New Year's Eve, 1989, 1990. I go out with my girlfriend, we go to a uh a New Year's Eve party, come back to her place. She had an apartment in Ann Arbor. And the next morning we're sitting there in her apartment, we're trying to decide what to do that day. And Karen, so she was a good Christian girl, you know, real strong morals, you know, raised by a good family. I don't know where this came from. But she comes out of the back room with a Ouija board.
unknownOh man.
SPEAKER_04And she goes, hey, you want to play? This is like a movie. It's not the type that you would expect to have a Ouija board. And here we are, the brand new decade, the first morning of the new decade. And she offers me to play on a Ouija board. And I say, No, no, you have to take that thing out. I don't want to touch it. Take it out to the dumpster. Now, get rid of it. And oh, I don't know if she went back and got it. She changed. She wasn't the same. He broke up. I didn't see her anymore. Uh, you know, and then this is a girl that I had dated off and on for like, you know, six years. I mean, you know, I was ever serious about marrying somebody. It was her after that. Uh, we were done. Um, don't mess with Ouija boards. I lost seven, seven years of my life to just never-ending bad luck. And I I can't say that any of that sprung from that house. But it it definitely sprung from the Ouija board when we were messing around with it.
SPEAKER_02Like that even if they don't work, you're inviting bad stuff. Don't ever mess with anything like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, uh to this day, you know, I swear to God. If I had driven for 12 hours in the rain to get to somebody's house where I was going to stay for the night, and they said, hey, we're just about to crack open this Ouija board, I would keep on driving.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I hear you, brother. You know, I was always told by my grandparents, don't ever, ever mess with anything like that, especially a Ouija board. And I never got into that stuff. I've been I've been into a uh house party once in high school. And they brought Ouija boards, my kids, I got a couple of questions about black cards. Um I don't want to give the exact location. But what in Rochester, what role is that on?
SPEAKER_04That's I purposely left that out because is anybody interested in maybe trying to find it now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I'm just wondering if the house is still there, if it's been built uh built around or you know subdivision.
SPEAKER_04I know your heart's in the right place, so once this podcast is over, I will tell you the exact location because I know you're not gonna mess with it.
SPEAKER_01All right, good.
SPEAKER_04But for the protection of anybody else, yeah, I hear you. Um any drill seekers out there that want to buy this stuff, no.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. You just you just said that in a way. Yeah, I I agree with you. And you just said something about for the protection of ourselves.
SPEAKER_04It it almost I almost feel like we need a uh sort of a prayer over this because I don't want any of this stuff following me in the Yeah, I was uh hesitant as I told as I told Jason about even telling this story lest um something would catch catch wind of it, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I know what you mean.
SPEAKER_04You know, uh it's it's very, very real. You know, so uh like as Jason suggested and I did, you know, I prayed for protection.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well I'll be doing that after the show. I um I grew up around in a house, uh my grandparents' house for 15 years. And something was not right with the child. My dad's generated. We've never had any issues after that. Um, it's roll three to five. He was down there brain and doing all kinds of stuff and he wouldn't tell anybody. He wouldn't even tell my dad. Somebody in the family of what he had done, but I guess he never told anybody.
SPEAKER_04When the occult stuff is real. And you believe that. You know, you don't want to take any chances.
SPEAKER_01No, no, I don't know.
SPEAKER_04You don't want to close anybody else. No. I can see him turn it into your dad if he told them what he did. They did turn on not true, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Yeah, see in that house, we don't know if it was high um if it was uh, you know, mean spirited. I I I do believe that there was one thing that was really mean. But a lot of the other stuff was more like playful kind of you know, pulling pranks and fun kind of things. But but there was something that was not about fun. It was more about some harm. So uh whatever he did, you know, w he said that we didn't bring it into that house. It was there when they b uh bought the house. And I gotta think early sixties when they when they bought the place.
SPEAKER_04He got rid of it.
SPEAKER_01He got rid of it, it took twenty-some years, but you know, he was some stories, you know, a lot of stories I can tell on some other shows uh at some other point. But Dave, I'm glad that you uh you came on here and told us about this house and the story and you know wow, that whole journey you had with uh with Ellie and Karen and those seven years. That's that's tough, man. That's that's tough. Something something you're never gonna forget, right?
SPEAKER_04God, I wish I could.
SPEAKER_02My prayer before before we started this episode was that the main takeaway for our listeners is you know, that this is something to be, you know, not to be messed with, not to be not to be glorified, not to glorify it. Kind of in the spirits of the season, you know, they hope to believe that uh this time of year was when the the veil between life and death was finished. And uh I don't know about how the all the dimensions work. I do I do know I love the Lord and I and I uh declare Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and He's protected me throughout my life. But yeah, we we uh it was my goal that in telling the story that this would be a cautionary tale, not a tale of glorifying it. I hope that translated to our listeners. Yeah, yeah, I think it will.
SPEAKER_01I think it will, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_04There's no glory in the seven and you know, if it sounds all cliche, seven years of bad luck, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hey man, that's I believe just the amount of time that it was. Yeah, the the you know, the never ending.
SPEAKER_04Wow.
SPEAKER_01Well again, I I appreciate you coming on here and and sharing that with us. That's that's a lot, guys. That's a lot of stuff to put out there for everybody.
SPEAKER_03And it gets creepy.
SPEAKER_01It's creepy, brother. It's uh I want to talk to you some more. And uh that was great. That was great. I'm glad you uh I'm glad you came on and shared that with us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean I mean there's a lot of there's there's a lot of facets to Dave. He's a he's a patriot, he's a gun owner, he's uh all right, you guys.
