Money, money, money. Well, hello, hello, hello, Kavi, Kavi, Kavi. Welcome to War Week, War 2. I know the whole week is War Week, right? I know. I'm going to try to go see it this weekend. What about you? Yeah, same here. I'm going to try to see it this weekend as well. Try to put it in because I really want to see it. There's only like two songs, I think, from the movie itself. That's what I think they did in War One also. They did Gunguru and they did Shankar. And both of those songs were like on my playlist nonstop. And this time around, I'm not really feeling... Either of the songs or just... They're both good. They're both good songs, but not the way I felt for, like, Goongroo and J.J. Shiv Shankar. There's something about the songs that were, like, so good, so much energy to both of them. Like, I loved it. Yeah, I mean, I like... I'm not in love with them. It's not like a Sayara album, which I'm, by the way, still listening to like a crazy person. I don't think that's ever going to change for us in the next couple of months. Seriously. I can't stop. But you're right. They don't grasp you immediately. I think when we will feel it is when we go to the theater and we watch the dance with it and then we'll be like, Holy moly. Like, what a great song, even though the song is probably not all that great. Yeah, probably. But also this weekend, Cooley is coming out. We talked about, I think we talked about the clash between Cooley and War 2 last week during the blinds, right? Because Omicron is promoting Cooley with the movie with Rajnikanth. Yes. So Cooley, it's kind of actually... Another cute thing that happened, Hrithik Roshan did his first movie with Rajinikanth. But so he posted, and I am going to read it for you. Yes. Took my first steps as an actor at your side. You were one of my first teachers, Rajinikanth sir, and continue to be an inspiration and a standard. Congratulations on completing 50 years of onscreen magic. Because Cooley, like, I guess Cooley marks his 50th year in the cinemas. So everybody, because Hrithik Roshan did this, everybody in Bollywood is boasting about him. Your buddy, Himesh Reshammiya, being secure at Rithik Roshan. Very few actors cheer for others, especially on release week. Here's to hashtag HR celebrating 50 years of Rajni Khan. I mean, and then there's another one. The most secure Indian actor ever, like to Rithik Roshan, replying back to Rithik Roshan. Wow, the definition of being secure. So keyword, key trending word is secure related to Rithik Roshan. It's just hilarious. I like that he was doing a post about Rajnikant and somehow the post now had become about him like it has switched and become about him 100% this is all some kind of PR led activity and I get that most of these people were probably paid something to post the word secure you think so how are each Three random peoples are going to all say secure, secure, secure. I don't know. That's a very awkward word to use. You know what I mean? It's weird. It is that he's secure in his stardom where he doesn't have to worry about promoting someone else's movie. He's comfortable with his stardom. But is that the first word you would think about if you're going to reply back to Hrithik Roshan and be like, wow, Hrithik, that's so nice of you, Hrithik Roshan. That's true. You're right. You're a very secure Indian actor. It's so stupid. You're right. You're right. You're right. I can see where that's coming from. Secure wouldn't be my first word I would think about. All right, Muni. Bring us some Bollywood buzz. Your trending topics of the week. Yes. Highlights. Trending highlights. Bollywood trends. This whole title gets a new title every time we talk. So whatever. Whatever we're going to call it. Remember a couple of weeks ago, we talked about how Shai Khan got hurt, I think, while filming King. Yeah, you told me it was on CNN. Yeah, it was somewhere, something. It was somewhere out there. But apparently he did get injured. I don't know if it was very bad, but pretty bad where they had to stop his... shoot for King and now the release is postponed to 2027 as opposed to 2026 I guess it was supposed to be oh wow so he really got hurt huh must have stopped shooting remember I told you that he stopped doing the shoots for the movie so it must have been bad enough where he can't do a lot of it so they had to push the movie to 2027 Well, we did see him post a video because remember he won the National Award, right? And in that video, like his arm was kind of like in this cast type of thing. So I'm sure maybe it's going to take some time for it to heal. For it to heal and whatever. And King looks like it's a very stunty, very like, I don't know, like. It looks like a spyversy type of thing, but. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, it looks like Dishoom Dishoom, like kind of like what you would call it. Maybe gritty type of gritty movie. So just a new. I don't know if you've seen it, but it's been trending all over my feed. Murnau Talker made a statement about Bipasha and Bipasha's body. And this actually is great timing in the sense that we just talked about Bollywood bodies. Yes, we had Sheila here, work hard, mom hard, who's trying to, you know, become the first Bollywood bodybuilder, female category. So Murnau Talker makes a comment, I think 2015, where she says to her co-star that, oh, at least I'm not like, Bipasha, manly. Oh, you like that type of look? Then you should just go marry Bipasha. Go marry Bipasha. Rolling her eyes, just like, I'm better than her. I don't look like her. Didn't marry her. She says that, and that just came out maybe a couple of days ago. And the internet is just going wild on it. How dare you criticize Bipasha? How dare you bring women down? And I think the reason that particular came up is because she's recently been talking about like, Oh, I want to flaunt my curves. I want to change the beauty standards about being
SPEAKER_04skinny. Who?
SPEAKER_00Munal Thakur is one of her interviews. I'll send it to you. She wants to change that image of being really skinny. She wants to flaunt her curves and things like that. So she says that now, but then that other thing resurfaced. And it took her a long time to respond back. But Basha, in response to that particular comment, A real comment. Yeah, comment. And going viral, she goes, you know, she is so funny. And I like how Bipasha did this. She wrote, strong women lift each other up. And she had like a bodybuilding, like a barbells. She has barbells in between there. And then she says, get those muscles, beautiful ladies. We should be strong. Muscles help you attain your good physical mental health forever. Bust the age old thought process that women should not look strong or physically strong. That's a direct comment. like, response to Mernal Tucker, right? Like, direct response to it. And everyone's like, that's such a classy way Bipasha responded back and things like that. I mean, and then Mernal came back maybe, I think, yesterday saying that, oh, I was 19 years old. I didn't realize what I was saying. I made a mistake. I apologize and things like that. So... Wow, she's got some guts, man. My personal thing is that she took too long to come out and say, make an apology. Because that started happening in the weekend. So you should have came out much sooner, not yesterday. You should have come out much sooner saying, I made a mistake. Or just apologize. Just say, you know what? That was really dumb of me to say. And I understand that it was dumb. And that's it. I'm sorry, Bipasha Basu. The end. Oh, I was so young and it was 10 years ago. Shut up. Yeah. Like I was 19. I made, I made a, I made a comment. Like I was like, I wasn't thinking, but like you have to make it, make it after Bipasha responded to you. Like Bipasha put a statement out and then you put a statement out. Yeah. What did you think? Bipasha wasn't going to see that? Like we all saw it. Of course she saw it. You know how we always talk about nepotism in the industry. We don't talk about it. It's there. It's in your face. It's always in our face. Yes, exactly. How do we not talk about it? Well, today's episode is kind of about nepotism in the sense that we talk about the parents and the children in the industry. Actors that have made a name for themselves or people know, well-known, and then how their kids have come into the industry and what their kids are like. I mean, there's generations and generations of these. So I'm really excited to see where you're going to start. Yeah. There are. There are generations and generations of it, right? There are parents and kids in her, all these different things from their parents. Talent, I mean, may be one of them for some people. So we'll discuss that part of it. I want to start off with Tanuja and Kajol. I don't think a lot of people realize that Tanuja was also an actress. And one of the... famous movies that I know of recent time and recent I say like you know of my recent time of my life is Satya because she was the mom in Satya oh she was I didn't know that so she was the mom I don't think like Kajol looks like her so I didn't know that until like later on in my life like oh
SPEAKER_04who
SPEAKER_00who Tanuja was and who Kajol was so Tanuja debuted as a child actor, actress in Humari Beti in 1950. And then she did another, her official debut was in a movie called Cha Billi, 1960. She did that. And she's been, she's known for her like strong-willed characters, her very like lively characters in Hati Meri Sati. She was in Jewel Thief. Oh, Hati Meri Sati with Rajesh Khanna. Remember? Back in royalties.
UNKNOWNYeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't remember, but yes. Sorry, not royalties, but we did like our old man research. Research we did. Like Rogers kind of was one of the guys that I did research with and he was happy. Anyways. Yeah. So she was happy. She was in Jewel Thief. I don't think I've watched any of our older movies. I don't know any of her movies. This is why when Kajal came out, like who is Tanuja? I don't know who this woman is. And she must've been amazing. If you know, Kajal is this great, this great. Um, And she worked across, she worked, she did Hindi movies, she did Bengali movies. So she did all that stuff. Gajal, so she started in her debut movie, they said Behudi, 1992. But her breakout performance was 1993 in the movie Bajigarh. Ooh, with a shot of... With Shara Khan. Yes, that was her debut movie. Sorry, her breakup movie. And that's when everyone noticed who Kajal was and how good she was. You know what else they noticed about Kajal? Yes, what? Her unibrow. That was a very, very... Yes, exactly. People talked about the unibrow. People did. And she was the first one about beauty standards. She didn't care about her hair, how her hair looked. It would always, to me, look like it was unkept. Just disheveled. Yeah. Disheveled. Her hair always looked disheveled to me. She's like me. Like, look at me right now with my hair in a bun all day long. Eyebrows. I always was like, why don't you just do your eyebrows? Like, why don't you do it? I do my eyebrows. Yeah, she doesn't draw eyebrows. But she also has beautiful eyes, though. So, like, I guess she can get away with those unibrow and have, like, beautiful eyes. I don't know. Sorry. Okay, anyway, sorry to interrupt you with my unibrow comment. And then, Kajol dominated 1990s and the 2000s. You know, all of the movies that... And some of my favorite movies are those. And obviously, there are those because I love her chemistry with... those two will be my pair forever we talked about this before yeah they are they are my favorite pair um and i compare everyone else to them she and i just didn't start dating and then they got married and so she's also married to an actor herself um as well so then which isn't the only one in her family that was a was in the industry so this is like their family being in the industry has been for a while she's she is from her dad was a filmmaker and And her mother was an actress, Shabana Samrat. And then they had three sisters. Oh, Sanuja's mom? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't know that either. Yeah, Sanuja's mom. Her dad was a filmmaker and her mom was an actress. And then apparently her sister, which I didn't realize, was Nutan. Nutan was her sister. Okay. Because Monish Bale, that's his mom, Monish Bale from Hamapke Hikon. So like Kajol, like I found that out after Hamapke Hikon. I was like, who's this guy? He's really good. And then I was like, oh, that's Kajol's cousin. It's like, oh. Again, industries, like there's so much nepotism. It's like a spider web of everyone connected somehow. Yeah.
UNKNOWNYeah.
SPEAKER_00Tanuja is known, she did a wide variety of movies, all different types of styles. So I guess Kajol also has a variety of movies as well, too, in her list of movies that she has done. And again, I'd never seen Tanuja's movies before, but she's known to be a great actress. And she got a couple of Filmfare Awards as well. I mean, I've never, I don't think I've really ever seen any of her movies either, but I mean... Kajal, I think, is really talented. She is a little bit annoying in some of her interviews, but in terms of her acting and stuff... And I could see that. In Coffee with Karen, she came and she was laughing so hard. People couldn't watch the entire episode because she was so loud in that episode. She was so annoying. She was very annoying. But yeah, so I mean, I feel like her personality can be a little bit out there too much, but her acting is great. So if... If her acting is good, I'm sure she must have got some of it from her mom and from the movies that you've listed out. Jewel Thief, I've heard, is a really good movie. The songs are really, really nice in that movie. There's quite a few movies that you listed out that I feel like I've heard of, but I've never really watched, but... I'm sure she must have gotten some type of acting talents from her mom as well. I'm sure. I'm sure she got it. And then some people are just naturally good. Like, not everyone gets the talent from the parent. Like, yes, kids get some talent from the parent, but not every kid could have that. All right. So, Muni, do you think that Kajol– leveled up in terms of her acting and bringing the family name to a higher level? Or was Tanuja it and Kajol should have just stepped back? What do you think? I definitely think that she leveled up. I definitely think that she took Tanuja as whatever she was in the industry because of Tanuja. Maybe that's what it is. And not just Tanuja, her whole family background. They all have been in the film industry. And she leveled it up. Absolutely. Leveled up. Leveled up. Okay, so you just talked about the nuja and kajal. I've got a family that we've talked about in the past before. It is the kapurs. Not the annual kapurs. Which kapurs are you talking about? The other kapurs. So I want to talk about rishi and runbir. Oh. Yeah. So Rishi Kapoor, we know he's the son of Raj Kapoor. He started in his first film also as a child star, just like the Nuja, in his dad's movie. And he officially debuted in a movie called... Miranam Joker. He was playing the younger version of Raj Kapoor. And he won a National Film Award for that. Just like R. Shah Rukh Khan won a National Film recently, so did Rishi Kapoor as Best Child Artist at that time. Oh, wow. I mean, it took Shah Rukh Khan forever to get that. 33 years. Poor guy. And for Jawan. I'm going to keep bringing him up. Jawan was a good dude. It was good. Not for a National Award. You didn't even know what a national award was until... It doesn't matter. For an award he won that he had never won for anything else but that movie. Come on. Chakde India Swade. Like all of those movies. Yeah. Okay. So anyway, so his breakthrough movie that kind of brought him to the name Rishi Kapoor that we know of was Bobby. And Bobby was with Dimple Kapadia. It was Dimple Kapadia's debut. And... It was a sensation. The songs were amazing. He was really cute, actually, back then. He was this cute little... You're a baby face. You're like a baby face lover boy. Yeah. Yeah. And so he's known for his like romantic roles. Like he did Chandani with Sridevi, Amarak for Anthony and like a really kind of funny but also romantic movie. So as he got older, he transitioned to into other roles like more dad characters, like kind of side character roles, but strong character roles like Agni Path. He was that mean guy. Remember? Yeah, yeah, yeah. He was. He wasn't the villain villain, but he was part of, like, he was also a bad, like, not the good guy. Yeah, yeah. And then he was in Kapoor and Sons as well. And I think, wasn't he in Student of the Year? Yes, he was. He was principal with Student of the Year. Yeah, yeah. The first student of the year. Yeah, so he did a lot of really good films. He did pass away in the last few years. He had cancer and he passed away. But, you know, he gave us some good movies at the time. Now... Coming to his son, Mr. Ranbir Kapoor, Mr. Naughty Naughty himself. Mr. Naughty Naughty himself. So he was actually born a day before I, but in a few years much later than me. So he is Rishi Kapoor's son and his mom is Neetu Singh. Neetu Singh was also an actress back in her day. And I have to say, I really... like Ranbir Kapoor as an actor. Yes. I think he's a very good actor. You're not going to hear argument from me at all on that. Yeah, he is a very good actor. So he started his acting debut with Saveria, with Sonam Kapoor, and it was Sanjay Leela Bansali movie. The movie was really stupid. So bad. Really dumb movie. It was very bad. It was a terrible debut, honestly. Agree. Totally agree. But you know what? He basically... proved us all wrong after his debut he did Wake Up Sid Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani he did Rocket Sing and I think Rocket Sing is one of those underdog films it's really good I really think people should go watch it we need to talk about underrated movies I don't think we've talked about underrated movies that's one of them because it's really really good and then dude one of your favorites or favorites in terms of his acting Barfi like so good and Sanju too Sanju oh my god Sanju was a different level I felt like Barfi was so good and like you actually saw, like you saw an actor, like you saw a legacy there, right? Like he comes from a line of amazing actors, right? Their families are kind of known as like the godfather of movie industry and things like that. And you saw that from Ranbir I feel like in Barfi how he portrayed that character and that's one of the movies that even though there's like so many sad and emotional parts and it's not like a lovey-dovey type of movie that I know I love rom-coms Barfi was a good movie and I'll watch it over and over again whoever has never seen Barfi I'll watch it with you because it's just a good movie I don't know if I would watch it over and over again but the acting was very very good I actually one of my favorite movies of his is E Dil Hey Mushkil yeah yeah that's a sad one so I won't watch it that often but yeah It's sad, but, like, there are certain parts of, like, the relationship between him and Anushka. It's so cute. Like, it's just friends, right? Like, from her side. Yeah. From her side. And then even the Bachinay Hesino. I really like that movie, too. Like, it's another really, really good movie. A lot of his movies I like. I like watching it. I love watching that movie. I know he's a red flag character. We talked about him, but I love watching the movie. I think it's a fun movie to watch and his acting is really good. I like it. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, I think. So let me ask you a question now that I've explained both Rishi and Ranbir to you. So who do you think is the better? Let's see either. I'm going to say the better romantic actor. What do you who do you think? Rishi or Ranbir well I didn't watch that many of Rishi's older movies right so like I watched Rishi in the 90s and I felt like why is this old man romancing these young girls right like in Diwana with like Shah Rukh Khan's movie and then that was Divya Bharti he was romancing Divya Bharti and I was just like why is this old guy romancing this young girl so like I didn't see romance there so my pick would be Ranbir I think Ranbir does really good job with like girls that he like has good chemistry with kind of have to agree with you I'd really did like rishi kapoor and chandani as well but then i was like why is he being such a cry baby at one point too so you asked me like who was more in the romance but like Who do you think had a bigger... Who was a heartthrob of their era? Do you think Rishi was a bigger heartthrob at his era? Or do you think Ranbir is a bigger heartthrob in his era? I don't think either one of them, honestly. Like... You think Ranbir is a heartthrob? Whose heart is he throbbing? No. Like, I mean... Nah, I know a lot of my friends that were like Ranbir. They were like, oh, wow, Ranbir. Yeah, I have a lot of people that were like me, like Ranbir. I mean, I think he's cute. I think he's cute and all, but I'm like... I don't know. Like... Maybe because we just know too much. Yeah, maybe. We know a lot. So I don't know. Like, I am just not. I don't know. We talked about Rashid, we talked about Ranbir. Do you think what is a legacy scale? Do you think leveled up? Leveled up in terms of acting, yes, I agree. But also leveled up, we didn't talk about this, but Ranbir Kapoor's dancing. The guy is amazing. He's so good. He doesn't get enough credit for his dancing, I think. I think everyone else kind of talks about other people's good dancing skills, but Ranbir, he does it so smooth. And we talked about it in my favorite movie, Tu Juti Me Makar. Sarcasm oozing. Pyaar Hota Hota. In that one, it's just such flow in his movements. You You don't realize that the dance moves are actually pretty hard, but he does it in such a smooth style so well. He's so good. He's really, really good. But yes, definitely leveled up. And I think, you know what? I think he's going to keep the Kapoor legacy alive. I think so too. We'll see what happens with the next generation because you know they're going to be acting too. Well, we talked about mother and a daughter. We talked about a dad and a son. Let's talk about a dad and a daughter. Oh, okay. I can't even think of one. You're talking about one family, Kapoor. I'm talking about the other Kapoor. Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Oh, Lord. God save us all. Okay. Go ahead. We've talked about Anakapur often, though, that how much like he is, how good he looks for his age right now, how many movies he's done and how like he didn't get stuck on trying to play the hero role, that he made sure that he was doing other roles too. And this is why like people can remember him in the movie Tal and movie Animal and other movies he's just done with like as a character. And probably why he got asked to do Slumdog Millionaire, right? Like, because like he was doing all of these side gigs. He's so versatile, like with his acting, like, you know, We remember him from 1942, A Love Story. Mr. India with Avisu Sridevi. I think Tezab was with Madhuri. And also, we talked about Tal was with Aishwarya. And Slumdog Millionaire. Again, we talked about 24. He was in the season of 24. One of the things that people remember about him, he has this energy about him. He's just very loud. And his personality is loud. It's like a casual version of it. He's just really fun. And I think he brings that aura into him in everything. Well, Arjun Kapoor always says it too. Jack That is the word that we need to describe Anil Kapoor in his acting. And then we have his daughter, Swarnam Kapoor. She's the most amazing thing in the world. Everything she does is like, wow. Her debut movie, we just talked about Ranbir, right? Her debut with Ranbir in Salwaria. And it was considered a stylish flop. But I personally think she is pretty. Her sister styles her really well. And I've talked about this. I felt like she became the style. I personally thought she became a style icon where I started paying attention to the clothes and the brands and who is this brand she's wearing, who is that, a lot more when she was doing it. And I would look forward to seeing her on the red carpets. I'd look forward to seeing her in events. I'd look forward to seeing what is she going to wear this time around. So to me, Sonam Kapoor was that kind of a style. icon as opposed to like an actress i can't name one movie ever like oh i watched this movie and she did good you know what i mean maybe her face looks pretty in it again pretty like delhi six that was you know she did well in that she barely did any acting with abhishek she was in it ranjana apparently she did really good in that movie um i didn't see it danusha heard was really good but i didn't see it she did near job another movie i did not see but apparently she did i saw near ja she was okay she was okay yeah but they like call it like her best before If a really bad actor does mediocre acting, yes, that is her best performance, right? Yeah, I agree. That is her best performance. Yeah, in that way. And then you can say it's her best performance. One of the things that she does and her dad also tells about her is that she just says things, like puts her foot in her mouth often. So her dad's like, yo, you need to step back for a second. Like, what are you saying? Sometimes he rolls. She was in Coffee with Karen again. She says something and a couple just looked at her like, what are you saying? So I was going to say, like when... When I found out that Sonam Kapoor was making her debut, I was very excited because I really like Anyal Kapoor. Yes. I really like him. Just like you said, like Ram Lekha and all. Like, remember, that was my first movie that I ever watched, Hindi movie that I watched. And I was so excited. And I still gave her a chance after Savarya. Savarya was a terrible movie, but I was like, oh, I still like Sonam Kapoor. I still like her. Then she opened her mouth. Yes. And started talking. Yes. And I'm like, oh, God. Like, just… Terrible, terrible things would come out of her mouth. Like just... uh not even terrible very um entitled things would come out of her mouth and i'm like dude tone it down man and a lot of like hip-hop a lot of like things that contradictory like she would be like there's one point she'll be like i i'm so i'm anna kapoor's daughter i'm so anna kapoor i grew up with a silver spoon in my mouth and then she'll be like i struggle so hard to do that you can't be both like you can't be like you both you can't have us be anna kapoor's daughter you know which you are and you get everything you ever wanted and then be like i struggled like what did you struggle with like you didn't get the right purse one day like i don't know like what is it that you struggled i will say there are some fun movies of hers that i've watched um like aisha the fun movie to watch is a good one is with um bobby dell's cousin abedel's in it i forgot his name for a second abedel's in it and abedel was really good in that movie um so i thought it was yeah so she did like some couple of fun movies and i like you i've tried to give her so many chances like i saw with fuad ali khan and you know that was actually i have to say that was a um kind of a nice timeframe past movie but because of Fahad Khan like not because of her but yes it's a good movie just fun movie to watch right it's a fun movie to watch that one there's another one where she is Dorleek Dorleek I think it's called or something like that where she plays a bride that like keeps getting married and steals all the riches from all these different guys that she marries again the concept looks like a fun movie again I gave her so many chances I watched a lot of her movies but in the end I just don't think she's a good actress so I'm glad that she took a step back and is like doing you know her family life doing decorating and like doing more fashion stuff. So I'm glad that's happening for her. I don't know. I feel like I'm kind of like, I don't, I don't know if she's going to come back into movies. And I feel like if she does, like, it's not going to be, it's going to be what we've seen already, which is not anything amazing. So, okay. So if you had to keep one of these Kapurs, Anil or Sonam? In the industry? or in the world? Because it's a very dark question. I may not know the answer, but I'm going to ask you anyway. In the industry, Anil Kapoor, hands down. In the movie Jogjogji, he played like a father and he did a good job. It was like this fun rom-com thing and he did a really good job in his portrayal of that character. I don't think there's more of those because I like watching him that way. I want to see more of those type of acting. So you're going to want to keep Anil, basically. Hands down. Hands down, Anil Kapoor. Well, guess what? Wish granted because hopefully Sonam won't come back. She's been gone for a while. I don't know. She might be like, guys, you guys miss me and our industry has lost so much talent. I'm coming back. No. Okay. Okay. So, all right. So what's your verdict? Legacy leveled up or? Leveled up. Legacy fumbled, right? Legacy fumbled. She took her father's legacy and she just like, well, like, wait, what happened? She just dropped the ball on it and just like, oh, what? Well, I mean, she just didn't have the talent and that's fine. But just why you step away by yourself without us having to tell you. I feel like. Humbly and humbly and humbly. There was no like real humble. So you talked about a father and daughter. I'm going to talk about a mother and son, Nargis and Sanjay Dutt. Oh, yes. So Nargis, we did talk about Nargis a while back in one of our earlier episodes about like... Bollywood females and stuff like that. So Nargis was one of the first Indian female film directors back in the day and one of the finest Indian actors, actresses in Bollywood. At least this is what she's known for. I've seen one of her movies, Mother India, and I thought she was really, really good. So she entered into the films at six years old as a child star and And her name actually was not Nargis. It's Fatima Rashid. And they gave her the screen name Nargis because I think they just wanted a new name for her. They do that a lot, though. They change names all the time. They do. They change names all the time. Yeah. They do. Akshay Kumar's name is like Rajiv something. Rajiv Bhatia. Rajiv Bhatia, yeah. So anyway, her breakthrough movie was Takdir on... in the 1940s. And she became this icon with Raj Kapoor. You know how we talk about Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol? So Raj Kapoor and Nergis were like the it couple in the movies back then. And she married this guy named Sunil Dutt. He was also an actor. And they had a son named Sanjay Dutt. Yes. Now, Sanjay Dutt. Where do we even start with this one? Um... He, let's start with his acting background first. He started off as well as a child artist way back in the 1970s. And he officially debuted in the movie Rocky. And it was directed by his dad, actually. And it's kind of, it's actually very sad. His mom passed away days before his release because she had cancer. Yeah. And so she never got to see her son debut. And I don't know, I feel really bad. Like, you know, that's kind of really sad. Like the son needs his mom, like kids need their moms, you know, and it's... I didn't know that until I watched the movie Sanju where they could show all that stuff and like how hard it was for him with losing his mom. It's gotta be hard, man. Like you, you like, it's a time that you're supposed to be celebrating, but you can't, you don't want to celebrate. Right. Absolutely. But anyway, so he's, he's been known for his like muscular build and like, he used to be like in all of these, these movies, like, you know, Sajan, Kulnayak. And then he went into like more of a comedic role with the Munnabai series, which I have not seen, but I know you have seen it and you loved it. So I like Sanju. I think I like his acting. I like him as an actor. And just like his comedic ones too, with Govinda, with Salman Khan and stuff like that. I like watching a lot of movies. I think he's good. And when I saw Sanju, I was like, obviously Ranbir Kapoor did a great job acting, but like just seeing like what he went through with his mom passing and like all his like, I think the drug addiction that he had and just like, you know, with the underworld that his connection was and whatever it was. So he went through a lot to get where he is. Yeah, but you know, I mean, okay, fine. The drug abuse and all that kind of stuff, I'm sure he was probably using that as a coping mechanism because his mother passed away. But all this like underworld stuff, like he could have not... done all that but I guess you know his dad tried to get him out of it and is like once once you're kind of in you're kind of in and it's really hard to like get out of that type of life right unless until you really really really I have no idea I've never been part of the underworld so I can't give you I haven't either I'm just I'm just taking a guess Yeah, because I'm sure some people probably don't want to really be in it. Maybe not. I have no idea. No idea. He went to jail. All kinds of stuff happened. He went to jail. He went to jail right before Konaik came out. And that's why Konaik was such a hit because he came out right after he got released from jail. Well, Konaik was a hit because the movie was released too. I feel like the hype. There was a hype on it too because of that. There was a hype behind it. It was like free PR for them.
UNKNOWNYeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, you said you saw Mother India of Nargis, but who has more of a compelling life story, do you think? So, I mean, it's kind of hard to compare because I really don't know much about Nargis' life story except what was shown in Sanju and then the little research that I've done. I know that as a mom myself, I would hate to be like, not be able there for my son's debut film and all that kind of stuff. Of course, this is not in her hands. So Sanjay Dutt, yeah, I think has a little bit more of a compelling life story only because it is interesting to read about or hear about all of the things that he went through. And now he's living a nice, clean life right now, right? He's got kids. He's got a wife. So given that, what do you think? Was it legacy leveled up? Legacy fumbled, Legacy maintained, Legacy rewritten. What do you think it is? Well, it depends on what you think their legacy is. In terms of Nargis, if you're talking about acting, she was supposedly one of the top actors of her day. If you think about acting with Sanjay Dutt, Yeah, not so much. He did have a few good movies, but then, you know, all of this like all this turmoil that happened in his life kind of like took over and he hasn't really had anything great until the Munabhai series. Right. So I think I think his legacy is still kind of in the works, maybe. But as of right now, I'm going to choose Nargis to have a little bit of the upper hand. I think Sanjay Dutt has a lot of, outside of his personal life, in the movie industry, I think he has done a lot of good movies, and I think he did a really good job. I don't know all of his mom's movies, and I don't know all of his dad's movies, but yeah, Munna Bhai, MBBS was great. That was him coming out of reinfecting himself. He did a lot of other movies. He did romance movies, too, and he's doing a lot of dad roles now, too, because he's also in Boggy 4 now with Your Boy Tiger. Oh, yeah. He's supposed to be like a villain, right? Or he looks like a villain. I don't know. it's very unclear who the villain is because like Tiger's talking and he's like you know every story has a villain and every story has a hero and I'm I feel like for my story I'm both like it's unclear like who the villain is and who it's very gory movie looking though that's why I'm saying I feel like I need to see more to determine what his legacy is because if he's got this coming out I'm sure he's got some other stuff coming out I personally I feel like he but I want to see Sonam Kapoor I don't want to see anymore I feel like he's maintained for me like it'd be maintained because I feel like he He came out of the film industry with his parents' legacy, and then he's maintained it, doing good movies. All right, well, you know, we can agree to disagree because you think he maintained, and I think he's got more to come. So let's see what happens. I want to see more from him, unlike other people. You will. You will see a lot of him. Yeah. Because I don't think he's leaving anytime soon. No. Okay, it is blindy-windy time. This handsome actor has legions of female fans who can't help but drool over his good looks and killer physique. He has dated some of the most gorgeous looking women in the past, but has never settled down owing to his commitment phobia. As per a source, he's been dating a Goan model since the past few months. Another Goan beauty is his booty call. Oh God, what is this? And it looks like the actor has... So the... Looks like the actor has a going fetish. Can you guess the actor? I think, is it Saman Khan? No, very bad guess. It is. Can I tell you? Yeah, please go ahead, tell me. Tell me who it is. Aditya Roy Kapoor. Oh. Who is he dating? Some girl named Georginia. Georginia, yeah, Georginia. And then his booty call is a girl named Selva. Yeah, but it's so funny. What's that? One of these people commented, Aditya is not as handsome as you're describing him to be. I agree. I don't think he's that handsome. I agree, too. I think he is a good-looking guy, but he has legions of female fans. And killer physique? Aditya Roy Kapoor? What? Now that you say it like that, I think about it. In the movie Malang, I think it is, he did really work on his body and he looked really good, the scenes that they showed. But Malang was how long ago, dude? Like, look at him now. He looks like an ordinary Indian dude. I have not seen any movies of his, so I have no idea. Well, just like, you know, in Insta Reels and stuff like that. Yeah, he does. I mean, they all, if they're on Insta Reels, they're like ordinary looking. But yeah, but I do think there is a fan following. He does have a fan following. But it's interesting because recently everyone's talking about him dating like Sarah. And they're like making such a thing about Sarah's taking her friend's boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, Ananya's ex-boyfriend, things like that. Oh, yeah, yeah. I heard this too. Well, apparently he's into going girls. Well, apparently from this blind. I said, so I'm on con because of physique. I was like, who has a good physique? Not Salman Khan anymore. And not anymore. I was just thinking like old days, maybe him. I don't know. Yeah. Well, the answer is Aditya Rai Kapoor. Second blind. This young superstar walked out on the studio that launched him. He has been banned by the studio. His next release, a spy thriller, has been delayed. It'll release during ETH next year. He has three other projects lined up. He returned the money he received as a salary for the spy thriller and is now one of the producers. Can you guess the actor? I don't know. Spy Wars. It could be like Salman, Shah Rukh. I don't know. One of them. No idea which one. Hrithik, Tiger. Ranveer Singh. Why are they calling him a young superstar? First of all, he's not young. I think everyone's comparing these actors to the older actors. To compare to those 60-year-olds, they are young. But in our head, a 37-year-old man is not young. Because a 37-year-old woman, you don't call her a young heartthrob. No, people are washed out and old. Exactly, exactly. So stop calling these men young heartthrobs or young studs or young whatever. Young heartthrobs or young actors are people that are coming in now in the industry. Yeah, Ahan Pandey, young heartthrob. Abraham Ali Khan, young heartthrob. Those are young people. Stop calling them that. Right. So, well, anyway, the superstars, Ranveer Singh, the studio that banned Ranveer Singh... This is news to me. YRF. Well, YRF banned him for what? Yeah, because he... This is bullshit. This is not true. Because he walked out of the studio. Or he walked out on some movie. Let me see which movie that they walked out on. I don't know what you're talking about. Oh, Doom 4. He walked out of Doom 4. That's news. Recent news, though. He's been in Doom... Doom 4 has been going on for so long we're talking about it. Well, he walked out of it, apparently. And then he walked out of it and is doing that Durandar movie, right? Yeah. So, well, Ranveer Singh, young superstar. I don't know. I don't believe this particular blind. Well, believe what you want to believe. That's why it's a blind. Okay, Mani, it is vow time. What have you got? Actually, I was thinking of us doing a new section where we ask our listeners for the vowel that they're listening to or the song that they're vibing to this week or the week that I asked the question, actually. Oh, I like it. Yeah, so I actually, we did it last week, put songs out there and people voted the song. Avan Javan from War 2.
SPEAKER_01Sone se bhi jo sunahra hai Sajra, sajra, sajra, sajra Tere to dil nu
SPEAKER_00laga ke sonaya It's a great song. Got audio. Oh, God, you're bestie. Yeah. And the song is called Mera Long Gawacha. So he did like a new version of that. And it's a fun song. Oh, I like the older version, too. Like the original.
SPEAKER_03So good. Yeah. So my vow
SPEAKER_00It's a Tamil song, actually. And it's an older Tamil song. And the reason I'm bringing this up now is because I messaged you when Param Sundari, that first song came out. And I was like, this sounds like a South Indian song to me. It sounds like this one. And it's called Manaselam Marie. And guess who sings it? It's not a South Indian singer. Mr. Sonu Nigam is one of the singers. Oh, wow. Sonu. Look at him. It's a very nice song, very melodious, very pretty, but I hope you guys will like it. Really, it's a fun song. Yes. Barman's Night is a great song. When we first heard it, I remember you said it, and we were just like, it just sounds like some old songs that we've heard. So, yeah. Yeah. I'm excited. All right. That's the vows, guys. Like, share, follow. See you in the next pod. See
SPEAKER_02you in the next pod. You came into my heart and kept me in your embrace. You are my life. My life. You came into my eyes and kept me in your embrace. You are my life. My life. No, I
SPEAKER_00heart the ones that we've done and I don't heart the ones that we haven't done. Look at you being so smart. So smart. So smart. That was after like the 10th episode I started doing that. All right, ready? Yes. Which one? You did some. No, I did. I did. No, I did. I get those movies mixed up for some reason. They're completely different. Well, no, because they both look, they both are with people that I don't care to watch. Okay. Really funny. You're right. There are people that get them. Yeah. Completely different storylines. One second. There's my mom screaming in the background. I hear. Older, like, daddy, dad kind of roles. Daddy. Daddy. Wow. This podcast has changed. It is no longer Bollywood. She was doing... Excuse me? Who are you talking to? I'm going to wait for your comments to finish with your Alexa. I don't know why she started talking, stupid lady. Okay, go. You don't know how to whistle? No, I don't. Really?
SPEAKER_03Wait, you don't know
SPEAKER_00how to whistle? I know how to do this. But I don't know how to whistle.
