Good Is Good Enough
Perfection sounds noble, but it’s quietly strangling your pipeline. We pull back the curtain on a truth most high-growth founders live by: good is good enough when you’re trying to earn trust, learn fast, and sell more. If you’ve been stalling on posts, emails, or offers because the headline isn’t perfect or the design needs one more pass, this conversation gives you a safer—and far more profitable—path to action.
We start by naming the real enemy: perfectionism disguised as quality control. Then we show how consistent, “good” marketing outperforms flawless drafts that never ship. You’ll hear why rhythmic activity leads to rhythmic acquisition, how to set a sustainable publishing cadence, and where to place lightweight quality guardrails so messages are clear without slowing to a crawl. We discuss using live market feedback—opens, clicks, replies, objections—to tighten your copy, refine your offer, and speak in your customer’s language. Along the way, we share relatable examples, including typos that slipped through yet still converted, and the mindset shift that lets you hit send with confidence.
By the end, you’ll have a simple system to publish on schedule, repurpose content without burnout, and measure what matters: conversations booked and revenue created. Expect practical guidance on building trust through visibility, turning small, consistent actions into compounding results, and focusing on outcomes over opinions. Ready to trade anxiety for momentum and finally ship the work that moves the needle?
Subscribe for more growth playbooks, share this with a founder who needs the nudge, and leave a quick review to tell us the one action you’ll publish within 24 hours.

Good is good enough, and here's why. Welcome to the Business Growth Blueprint Podcast. If you're an entrepreneur looking to elevate your business, you're in the right place. In today's fast-paced world, growing your business is more than just numbers. It's about making great marketing decisions to build meaningful connections, increase your revenue, and keep your customers not just satisfied, but truly happy. So you can live your life on your turn. Let's get started. Hello and welcome to today's episode of Business Growth Blueprint with me, your host, Mark Fitzgerald. Great to have you joining me here. So at the beginning I told you that good is good enough. And here's why. Well, the reason that good is good enough is because we can procrastinate and we can hold ourselves back because we want perfection. And particularly, this comes to light in our businesses where we think everything has to be perfect before we can actually take action. Now, one of the things I will say to you is if you're putting a piece of content out there, you're putting a piece of marketing out there, you do want to make sure that your grammar is correct and that everything is punctually sound. I myself, being dyslexic, struggle with that. So I do have to get people to proofread some of my content and how I put things out there. And sometimes things do slip through the cracks and it embarrasses me to see that happen. But do you know what? Even when I do this, sometimes I still get a positive result from what I've done. Why? Because I've actually got out there and done it. Whereas other people will keep holding themselves back, not sure whether to actually put their piece of content, that piece of marketing out there to help grow their businesses. So I'm going to keep it quite brief this week and I'm going to reveal why business is not making more sales, why oodles and oodles of more profit are basically passing you by. The reality is that businesses are not flourishing because they're not really pushing themselves out there. And what they're not doing is the stuff that needs to happen to get them the results that they want. There is, if you like, insufficient action happening. And a lot of the times it can be in our own heads because it's holding us back because we get worried about what other people might think of us. But you'll see the businesses that are really, really flying, they're the ones that are spewing out stuff, especially from a marketing perspective. And sometimes we can even say to ourselves, geez, they're putting a lot out there that must be really annoying people. Yet you see these businesses growing, you see their sales going up. So it works. Why aren't we doing the same? What makes the difference between you know a business that is flourishing and a business that is struggling? The key really is just getting stuff done. It doesn't have to be perfection, it doesn't have to be out there. You don't need to be a perfectionist in what you're doing because you're still doing great work. And a lot of the time when people do this, they are recognized for taking action, for being everywhere, and for putting it out there. And any business that wants to achieve its potential has to have and get good at churning out good quality marketing. But if nothing else, if you're just starting out on this, it's all about churning out marketing. You will get better as you go forth. Remember when you first started to drive a car, you didn't know where the gear lever was, the clutch was, or the brakes were, you were getting used to it all. We went and we basically bunny hopped all the way down the road until we got better. It's the same with your marketing. As you start to put things out there, you will get better over time, but you have to keep doing it consistently and persistently. I talk a lot about being consistent and persistent for your market and gaining new customers. And you always want to be putting it out there, and of course, to gain new customers, you have to be active. Rhythmic activity will always precede rhythmic acquisition. So by putting it out there now, you will really help yourself. And of course, delivering marketing, delivering content just needs to be good. Doesn't need to be great to begin with, it just needs to be good. It needs to be something. You know, the email that never gets sent never actually gets criticism, but never gets praised. So get it out there and make sure that you are consistent and persistent with it. The little secret is lots of our marketing goes out with typos in it, as I touched on before. Not everything is beautifully laid out, some still need design work, and we want to get better as we're going, but getting things out there drives massive action that in the end gets results. Because the more action we take, the more results we get, the better our results are gonna get as well, and the bigger the impact we can have. And guess what? Our profits will grow as well. So the underlying aspect of all of this is to recognize that good is good enough. And if you could take that statement and recognize its truth and then deploy it in your business, well, I believe that you'd have a much better set of results than potentially you're having now. I believe that your impact will become much greater, and more importantly, your profits will grow as well. So today's biggest takeaway in this episode is get consistent and persistent with your customers. And of course, make sure that you're sending out good quality marketing on a regular basis. And consider an email that might have a couple of spelling mistakes or is not quite put together punctually correctly, or even has a dodgy picture, is still better than the one piece or the one email that never gets sent out. And of course, will never get you results. So you don't need to be perfect, you just need to be getting out there. Speak to your customers in their language and then put your marketing out there. Be consistent and persistent in your approach, and that will get you results. If you need any help with this, check out our free tools and resources at martfitzgerald.com.
