First Love: Sharuka Suthaharan (27)

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Sharuka’s entrepreneurial journey began in 2020, when she and her sister Navina turned a sewing machine and a passion for self-care into First Love—a brand rooted in fashion, wellness, and advocacy.

What started with handmade silk scrunchies evolved into Everything Oil, a multipurpose hair and skin product Sharuka invested $20,000 of her own savings into. First Love has since been featured in Vogue three times and now focuses on making luxury wellness more accessible to immigrant and underserved communities.

By 2024, First Love grew into a $50,000 business supported by a loyal customer base and a community initiative called Love Club.

Today, Sharuka balances running the business, a part-time job, and her work as a creative director supporting other local founders—while staying committed to the belief that wellness and self-love are necessities.

Sharuka is only 27 years old.
