Good morning, Pokemon Sleep Researchers, and welcome to episode 14 of Sleep It Off. Sleep It Off is part of the Pokemon Professor Network, and today is Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. I'm one of your hosts, Justin, with my [00:01:00] co host, Luis. How's it going?

PureLighter: Hola, everybody. How's it going?

Justin: it's been like a month since we potted.

PureLighter: Oh, yes. It's been a while, right? Since you and I would really

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: and talk about our, our amazing finds in Pokemon sleep, you know?

Justin: Yeah. That's what happens when you schedule your three week honeymoon over Christmas and then you're not back.

PureLighter: Oh man. Yeah. I mean, we do have, you know, live events and everything. And I did do our solo or at least my solo episode.

Justin: Mm hmm.

PureLighter: So that way you guys don't know that we're, you know, we're still playing the game with this, you know, having our own thoughts and feelings of life, but yeah, no, it's great to be back.

I'm just glad that we can finally talk about everything that has happened in the last few weeks. And hopefully we got some cool stuff to talk about too, right.

Justin: You mean like how I visited Hobbiton? Oh, oh, you meant the sleep stuff.

PureLighter: no, yeah, sure, sure, sure. [00:02:00] Oh, man.

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: you said you've been away for a while, so where you been? What you been doing? I think you actually hinted a little bit in the last time you were in the podcast.

Justin: So my wife and I, we had been wanting to go to New Zealand for a while and we just never found the time. Cause you know, it's a really long flight. It's expensive and you gotta have enough time off where you just, it feels like you're just going to be in jet lag city for, you know, a good majority. based off of how the holidays fell this year with Christmas and new years, we got almost two weeks off just for company shutdown, so we just added a week onto that of our own vacation time.

And then boom, we had a three week honeymoon lined up.

PureLighter: That's amazing. I wish I can do that, but I can never do that.

Justin: Yeah. At certain jobs, you can never do it. I could have never afforded to do this and my previous two jobs [00:03:00] for time off and multitude of reasons.

PureLighter: If I would have stated in a job that I had about, you know, 10 or so years ago, maybe, but I had to be an employee for like 20 years before I can do that. I think they give you like, I think a sabbatical or something for like two months or something. That'd be crazy,

Justin: Hmm.

PureLighter: but

Justin: no, it was pretty cool. I like to describe it as. The great American road trip, even though we're in New Zealand, because it's like every Midwesterners dream, let's drive everywhere. so, you know, we would,

PureLighter: driving from the other side of, yeah.

Justin: Oh, that was tough. I kept like, you don't get close enough to the middle lane. So that you're like going off the edge of the road. It's terrible

PureLighter: Yeah,

Justin: because you're sitting on the other side and you're just like, I don't know how I feel about driving on the left, but eventually I got more accustomed to it.

So then when I came back, I had a hard time driving on the right. And [00:04:00] I'm like, ah,

PureLighter: And that's gotta you just gotta love when other countries have things like that.

Justin: yeah. So

PureLighter: bad.

Justin: if I had to summarize my top five favorite things we did, cause we also went to Australia. So Hobbiton, seeing where the hobbits live, they have like 50 hobbit holes and they have two fully furnished ones. That are incredible. They like, you know, full bath, full kitchen storage, master bedroom, child's bedroom, family, living room, dog bed, everything.

PureLighter: You can't tell me that it was an airbnb too, right

Justin: Yeah. No, it was not. And although there is like a Hobbit themed Airbnb somewhere. I think it's here in Texas. I don't know. I'd have to look again.

PureLighter: we'll see

Justin: But so that was pretty cool. we had a private tour to see some marine wildlife, like seals, [00:05:00] penguins, sea lions, pretty cool. It was 50 degrees and raining all day, but I'm glad they gave us some extra jackets.

PureLighter: Hey, at least it works for you, you know, so that's pretty cool.

Justin: we did a overnight cruise through the fjord lands. And if you don't know, a fjord is, it's like a narrow sea inlet between mountains

PureLighter: Okay.

Justin: what.

PureLighter: That's pretty

Justin: What's wild about this is the water is black because of they get so much rain. They get 400 inches of rain a year, It's the only cold weather rainforest and it drains tannins off of the trees and foliage into the water.

So it just kind of looks like black tea.

It's pretty cool.

PureLighter: some tea

Justin: like,

PureLighter: y'all.

Justin: yeah, exactly. Yeah. So then,

PureLighter: you had some exciting stuff for sure

Justin: [00:06:00] Oh, one last thing we got to go to Australia zoo, you know, home of The late Steve Irwin,

PureLighter: that you had some birds poop on you this time around.

Justin: They pooped on Jody this time.

PureLighter: Oh, Okay. So it was

Justin: Yeah, yeah,

PureLighter: one in the end of the day.

Justin: yeah, yeah,

PureLighter: That's cool. Yeah. Also Justin, I know my audio keeps dropping un audacity when I talk a little more louder than usual. So you may have to do some crazy editing when you can.

Justin: we shall see.

PureLighter: Yeah. All right. So yeah, I'm glad. How was your sleep though?

Because I mean almost a full on, you were on the future's flight kind of deal happened, you know,

Justin: Oh yeah, you know, I meant to talk about that. So as far as gameplay goes, because I started the week in one country and went to another one. It just assumed that I skipped a day.

PureLighter: mm.

Justin: actual day that I skipped was Thursday, because I flew out Wednesday night and I arrived Friday [00:07:00] morning.

PureLighter: Mm hmm.

Justin: And I just basically didn't have any, you know, I didn't, I was on an airplane, didn't have any cell service on Thursday.

And so, but, so I actually recorded, you know, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday night. But the game assumed that I just skipped Monday and then did Tuesday through Sunday.

PureLighter: That's interesting.

Justin: And then the same thing happened on the way back. So on the way back, we left Sunday and arrived on the same Sunday. But because I changed time zones, it assumed that I skipped Sunday's sleep session. It was weird. I didn't understand. I was like, even though it did record Sunday night, it put it on Saturday.

It was bizarre.

PureLighter: If anybody in the Pokemon sleep or network company, whatever they actually, you know, make the game. Can you let us know how that works?

Justin: Yeah. So like I've heard people who adjust their time [00:08:00] for, if you're going to do it at all, you got to do like the whole week in that time zone.

PureLighter: Okay. You know, that makes sense.

Justin: Cause like, you know, when people like to go to, you know, the earliest time zone. So there's a time zone earlier than New Zealand. New Zealand is one of the earliest ones.

PureLighter: Yes.

Justin: 19 hours ahead of central time zone in America.

PureLighter: You were in the,

Justin: ahead of, 18 ahead of you?

PureLighter: time.

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: yeah. Well, actually from here to New Zealand, let me actually check because I always have to have my world's clock anywhere. Yes. 18 hours in New Zealand. And if let's say we're doing like Cindy's like 16 hours or something.

Justin: Mm

PureLighter: But yeah, I just keep myself in check and other parts of the world and knowing that everything happens in 24 hour period.

Justin: hmm.

PureLighter: period. How about any cool catches, anything that you actually got? Because we had had a bunch of stuff release and

Justin: hmm. Yeah, there was, there was quite a few things. [00:09:00] I was catching a lot, you know, transferred a bunch. Let's see. I caught an onyx today.

PureLighter: Oh,

Justin: that count?

PureLighter: I

Justin: onyx.

PureLighter: mean,

Justin: I've caught,

PureLighter: it works, I guess,

Justin: I've, I caught a steelic. I caught a lot of evolved forms because, you know, there was that event where there was like three hungries at once or four hungries at once, especially if you use the good camp ticket.

So I love value, even if it's not like the right thing of, you know, don't catch the quagsire, Catch the whooper. You know, 'cause then you can evolve it up, up the scale. Increase your holding space. But I was like, no, I just want the value. If I can give it my bonus biscuit and it can get, use all 12 from the hungry, then I'm gonna do that.

So, like I caught a bunch of forms like Quagmire, Doug Trio, Flo Gato, fluffy Cro lore de Dine. [00:10:00] Multiple Dragonairs.

Cramorant. Kangaskhan.

Let's see, I gotta check the dates on some of these. Oh, it's only December 29th? I caught so many things.

Justin: Let's see here, when was Shiny Mimikyu? That was December 1st. Okay,

PureLighter: well, Shiny Mimikyu was like the last few ones that I remember

Justin: yeah.

PureLighter: of course we had brand new Pokémons introduced as Alolan Bulpix and Pomny line were actually introduced for the first time. Anything there?

Justin: Okay, let's see, Where did that go? Okay, so I got a Shiny Mareep, no, Shiny Flaffy, a shiny Snover, a shiny Butterfree, and a second shiny Flaffy [00:11:00] during the last month since we potted.

PureLighter: Okay, quite a bit of Shinies, that's good.

Justin: let's see, I caught a Sneasel at Snowdrop. It was terrible. It was ingredient focused with speed of help down.

PureLighter: oof.

Justin: I want to trash you, but I just can't. Let's see, I caught one Pommy? He does have skill trigger M.

And then dream shard bonus and inventory up, and then a neutral nature. So, I'm gonna hold on to it. I'm not investing yet. I was really hunting for Dedenne, so I spent one of my event weeks at Gold Power Plant, specifically for the increased Dedenne spawns, and I barely saw Dedenne. I think I only saw, like, four.

PureLighter: Yeah, it wasn't Really helpful, I guess, when it came down to it, a lot of people really didn't go way that we

Justin: I had a much better time [00:12:00] when I did the first week at

PureLighter: Lapis.

Justin: Lakeside. Catching all the Dratinis for the extra candy, getting all the extra Dragonite candy because I need it. I finally got my Dragonite to level 50

PureLighter: Oh,

Justin: to unlock the next subskill. I had to use a bunch of rare candy too.

PureLighter: Yeah, I

Justin: I was just like, we're so close!

PureLighter: And when you get that little piece, it's crazy too, you know?

Justin: Yeah, I mean, even with EXP up nature, it still took a while. But yeah, let's see, what was Let's see, Pommy, who else was the new ones?

PureLighter: I love them all picks, Bami, and I think that's it for the new ones, but of course the event focused on the newer Pokemon introduced in 2024,

Justin: Caught one Alolan Vulpix, it was terrible.

PureLighter: Yeah, same. I think I got two and then I just trashed one because I was like, I'm not gonna keep this anyways

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: But they're both. A lot of ball picks and regular ball picks are both very specialist It's just depending

Justin: hmm. Heh

PureLighter: candy it gets you and don't worry. I don't i'm not hearing the crickets this time around

Justin: heh heh. No, my [00:13:00] dog is growling, saying he wants outside, so my wife's gonna take him outside.

PureLighter: But yeah, I'm actually happy that we have a brand new line with energy for everybody in the main skill. And that is of course the Pommy line. giving it a outside perspective from the other three that we have, which is of course the two fairy types, Wigglytuff and Sylveon. the psychic type, Asgardowork, which is still one of the best, don't get me wrong, but Pommy giving you another ability,

Justin: Mm hmm.

PureLighter: to have that strong of a skill trigger ability. And help out the team when needed. Luckily enough, and I don't know if you listened to the last week's podcast or the last time we bought iPodcast is that I actually got a really, really good palming

Justin: I heard that, I was like, wow.

PureLighter: it was literally similar skills from God of war, except for nature and just where they were.

Justin: Mm

PureLighter: just for recap, because I know a lot of people had it or it is that I [00:14:00] have helping speed a level 10 helping bonus a level 25. Skill level up M, which was S I just use a sub skill seed for it. And then at 75, it has trigger M and at level a hundred has very finding. So this is probably if it wasn't for the nature, because the nature is hasty, so it has experience up. if it wasn't that, you know, it gets in more triggers and things like that, it will be amazing, but. I think this is a long term investment level 75 comes on. This is gonna be a monster I already spent

Justin: hmm.

PureLighter: the dream shards to get it to level 50 So it does have his 50 skill.

Justin: Man, look at you, already level 50?

PureLighter: Yeah,

Justin: I've been working on my Dragonite for 6 months.

PureLighter: well this was during the dream shard event the holiday event.

Justin: Oh, did you use the increase the double candy effectiveness?

PureLighter: the candy boost.

Justin: how much dust did that cost you?

PureLighter: I [00:15:00] was basically broke by the time I finished and I

Justin: I was gonna say,

PureLighter: about, I think over 300, 000 dream shards at one point.

Justin: You ended at 0?

PureLighter: basically now the good thing about that is that throughout the entire week I was focusing on dream shards and I had a team full of dream shard triggers, plus whatever was going on through sleep recessions.

So from, Almost zero. I was back up to over 250 at some point at the end of that week, because of

Justin: Dang.

PureLighter: I was doing, surprisingly enough, it worked. I mean, after spending everything on that company, I still had enough. after that, and since then, let me tell you, I have over 550, 000 dream shards right now,

Justin: Do you spend, so I'm kind of like in Pokemon Go. I just kind of spend incrementally like every couple days.

PureLighter: well,

Justin: don't just.

PureLighter: the one mission that you have to spend like 270 something candies to get like 15 gems or something like [00:16:00] that.

Justin: Oh, that one just naturally happens for me. I don't try to get it done.

PureLighter: well,

Justin: I guess now I look at it. I'm at 214, 000.

PureLighter: that low right now. It's just that we haven't invested in anything bigger since. However, I am keeping Palmini as a Palmini for right now, because I'm running a long term experiment for the next six months. And this is to be able to have Palmini reach good Riven status

Justin: Oh,

PureLighter: before I evolve it all the way to its final evolution, Palmore.

Justin: interesting. we'll talk about this more in our deep dive section later about the best buddy ribbon.

PureLighter: yes something that for a second I was like, oh, I'm just gonna evolve it all the way down to and everything Just I have the candies. I have the dream shirts It doesn't really matter if I don't do but then I realized like hold on This may actually be the time to invest in something.

Justin: Yeah, the downside is you got to keep it. I mean, you [00:17:00] got to use it for those 2000 hours.

PureLighter: Yeah, which is

Justin: I used to don't have to, you could just swap it in every time you go to bed.

PureLighter: true it depends on really on, on the ingredients that I'm looking for the day, since I'm an OG PP right now, and I'm thinking I'm staying there until some other event comes on. it doesn't really change too much of my strategies. If I need to put God award on the team, like a day before or something like that, just to keep the team healthy throughout the day, fine. but it has helping bonus. So it does help out the team regardless. Even if it doesn't trigger too many times, and it's

Justin: Hmm.

PureLighter: at least right now, because it's carry limit is only 10. It did actually reach the first status of good Riven, so I've been doing this since I got it.

Justin: Oof. Carry limit of 10. What level? Oh, it's at level 50 though.

PureLighter: yeah, it's level 50.

Justin: Man, carry of 10. That's brutal.

PureLighter: it is brutal. That's why it doesn't trigger as much. Because it gets too full too quickly, and it has a frequency of 59 minutes.

Justin: Hmm.

PureLighter: at least,[00:18:00]

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: but once we get into a deep dive, I'll get more going into what the good ribbon really is going to help and efficiently help me in the future.

That reason. So I'm, I'm, I'm waiting. I'm just, I'm, I'm playing the longterm on this one. Kind of what will be, of course, my second in command when it comes down to healing my team for now on. But if I'm not doing a crazy decision or something like that, and for the near future probably it's just going to stay in my team until I reach that status. Real long, and I did do the math that day. 'cause 200 hours or 2000 hours of sleep,

Justin: Mm hmm.

PureLighter: In days, I guess I think it was like 84 days or close to 84 days or something. that is of course if I do actually no I'm doing wrong sooner in. Eight hour days, I guess I should say. Let's see If it's eight hours a day, that's 180 minutes and things like that Where's the calculator what I needed? I know I did a math last time. I can't remember right now [00:19:00] Assuming I get eight hours of sleep, you know, it's like at least minimum eight hours of sleep Which I technically do because of the gold plus plus anyways however

Justin: no, no. You go ahead. Okay.

PureLighter: No, okay. So I know that I read it at some point that it needed over 200 days or something like that But it's definitely gonna be a good six months before I can actually get two thousand hours. Which, again, it doesn't seem a lot, but if I just play this game every day, it doesn't really matter. Aside from events or things that I'll need my team to be healthy throughout the entire time, I'll probably take it off and maybe skip a day or two, but, you know, just like any Pokemon with long term investments like maybe pseudo legendaries or something like that, it's just a matter of going to sleep with it at the end of the day.

So it doesn't change that much.

Justin: Yeah,

PureLighter: so, it's nice. Helpful.

Justin: He did remind me of my, besides Dragonite, I had two other investments. During this month off. So one was to get my [00:20:00] Shiny Barry Finding S Raichu to level 50

PureLighter: Mmm.

Justin: because he did not unlock Barry Finding S until level 50 So he was unusable until then and then he's got skill level up M and skill trigger S Which you know, not great, but he does have a speed of help up nature

PureLighter: Okay. All right.

Justin: I was surprisingly lacking in Pikachu candies, mostly because I've invested in multiple Raichus.

PureLighter: Right.

Justin: Raichu I have another shiny Raichu at level 37.

PureLighter: It's

Justin: where all my, that's where all my Pikachu candy goes. And then I finally invested in an Ampharos.

PureLighter: Oh, yes.

Justin: I only have to take him to level 30 because I've already invested in one, so I didn't have the candies to go past level 30.

but he's got skill trigger M and skill trigger S in the first two slots.

PureLighter: There you

Justin: So. [00:21:00] Pretty good. And he's also got eggs in his second slot,

PureLighter: Oh,

Justin: which is great for me because I always need eggs.

PureLighter: yes.

Justin: he's got like a surprisingly high ingredient finder rate, even though he's a skilled Pokemon.

PureLighter: Okay.

Justin: So,

PureLighter: I really think that if you invest enough to it, I think it gives you a good chance.

Justin: yeah, so then I also dropped in four main skill seeds. Four or five?

Five, to get it to level seven.

PureLighter: Right. And how much does it trigger once it triggers

Justin: So the base strength is 6, 409, but depending on your island. So when I was on OGBP, we had the increased scale trigger rate for the event, but my island bonus there's only like 15 or 20%,

PureLighter: Mm.

Justin: but even still, I was getting over 8, 000 for every trigger.

PureLighter: That's

Justin: now that I'm at Topalo this week, cause I'm hunting Onyx [00:22:00] and I'm hunting specifically a good Larvitar.

PureLighter: Mm hmm

Justin: And then they also have full pixel there that I've never gotten a good one of

PureLighter: Kantonian ball picks

Justin: it triggers, I get 11, 000.

PureLighter: That's insane that's at least you know, one of the lower meals every time we trigger so it's pretty good

Justin: So

PureLighter: Yeah,

Justin: now it's in theory only triggers four times a day, but you know, sometimes it's less, sometimes it's more

PureLighter: and

Justin: and I don't always have it on my team. So

PureLighter: For me, I did get a few extra pokémons that I've been longing to get. Unfortunately, I didn't get like full on mono pokémons but last week where I was, I got a Quagsire, a shiny Quagsire actually,

Justin: ABB.

PureLighter: so it's just very nice. It does have, unfortunately, has only mushrooms at level the first slot, so it's ACC because it has potatoes or ABB, I think it's ABB. Yeah, so it has potatoes at 30 and 60, unfortunately. However, it does [00:23:00] have both ingredient finders at level 10 and level 25,

Justin: Ooh,

PureLighter: finder up as its nature.

Justin: dang. That's I know what you mean. Cause that was me and my Agron

PureLighter: Yeah.

Justin: ingredient finder, the first two slots.

PureLighter: Yep.

Justin: Yeah. So.

PureLighter: I want to invest in

Justin: Do you have problems with potatoes?

PureLighter: no big trouble. Just wins that all at that point.

Justin: Hmm.

PureLighter: could work if I'm, let's say I'm like in that island that needs the berries for it. But in the end of the day, I'm just going to get the potatoes regardless. So,

Justin: So I actually have problems with potatoes. That is potatoes,

PureLighter: Hmm.

Justin: it's not level 60. It's only level 42. I do not get enough potatoes purely from it. Cause like the top dishes require like 24 potatoes or something every time. And so that's a lot of potatoes for me.

PureLighter: honestly, my [00:24:00] Victorville can go to level 60 right now if I wanted to

Justin: Oh,

PureLighter: get double the potato farmer.

Justin: Oh, well I've, I had to double invest in victory bell cause I also have a tomato focused victory bell.

PureLighter: Yeah, no, I haven't really caught too many Victorville's or anything for tomatoes. I actually have penis or for that to replaced because the answer can have tomatoes in the, in the next two slots, plus ingredient finite

Justin: Yeah, my tomato victory bell, but I don't know. I'm never going to take the level 60 cause it's the EXP down, but it's AAC with leaks in the last spot, which always need leaks.

PureLighter: honestly, I don't have a lot of Pokemons that actually give me a lot of the mono stuff. I've been just investing enough and never getting it to level 60 for that reason. So I don't know.

Justin: Yeah. So the way I look at it is if you need a large amount of the ingredient in that 60 slot. That's the only way I would ever take it from 30 to 60. Now, some of them you've used [00:25:00] them enough. They level up over time. Like for example,

my what's it called? The electric bug Pokemon,

PureLighter: those.

Justin: flying bug. Pigavolt. I only invested it to level 30, but I've used it enough. It's level 38, just from like being on my team and EXP from overnight and stuff.

PureLighter: Yeah, I've been in the same situation with the big of all too. But this big of all just gives me the amount of coffee beans that I need. even without being in my team more than a couple of days or anything like that. So at the end of the week, I'm usually overstack with coffee and I'm just like, when am I going to use all of this?

Justin: Mm

PureLighter: So it works when he wants to, but you know, all

Justin: hmm.

PureLighter: Anything else before we continue on because I feel like we've been here for quite a minute

Justin: Yeah, well, I mean, it might be a good time for a break. You think?

PureLighter: [00:26:00] I think so.

Justin: All right. We'll be back right after this.

Good afternoon and we're back once again. That was a good break, I guess.

Justin: Yeah. So it was great.

PureLighter: Of course, you know, but before we continue, we want to take a moment to recognize some of our Patreons. Huge thank you to our gym leaders, Ben, DJ Wonderbread, Esper, Espeon Wheeler, Willow, sorry about that.

Justin: Willow.

Justin: That reminds me. I need to go log [00:28:00] in and see what the reviews are.

PureLighter: Ah, yeah, that'd be great. All right. So, quick few things, actually something that was just announced today, is we're going to have another maintenance coming up, but this is an interesting one because it is some information that may come for future events. Oh hey, thank you. That's cool.

Anyway, so the maintenance period is gonna start on the 15th and it's gonna end on the 16th. So basically the 9th of the 15th or something like that, which is usually around what 8 or 9 p. m. our time or at least my time and then it's like 9 or 10 to your time, I guess.

Justin: basically

I feel like it changes.

PureLighter: Hmm.

Justin: tells you

PureLighter: I

Justin: I just wait for people to tell me.

PureLighter: Yeah, I know. Right. It's like, I think I go to Reddit and be like, Oh, it's maintenance time. I was like, okay, I got to do dinner before this. But yeah, so the features of this update or at least [00:29:00] points of interest on this is preparation for new events happening very soon, which will be posted on a later date,

Justin: descendant,

PureLighter: preparations to add new Pokemons.

Justin: or

PureLighter: details, unfortunately. Additions of a new relaxing sound that Jigglypuff's son, if you ever

Justin: You think it'll be like the anime one?

PureLighter: Yeah, nah nah nah nah. She got the, in the buff. Anyways, don't quote us on our singing guys, come on. There's also gonna be some balance adjustments to

Justin: Oh, I hadn't read these.

PureLighter: Yeah, so, this to certain helper Pokemon's helping stats. the frequency has shortened slightly.

Frequency is also going to be shortened slightly and its carry limit will be increased, which is kind of nice because Kangaskhan is a very good monofarmer and a few things that I use.

Justin: Yeah, I use it for ginger all the time. I'm using it right now.

PureLighter: Yeah, same.

Justin: POWer,

PureLighter: [00:30:00] Heracross will also have a shortened frequency.

Justin: records

PureLighter: I don't know Probably like 30 seconds or something. I don't know

Justin: one year.

PureLighter: with its main skill chance will be increased slightly so that's pretty nice, but also his carry limit will be increased

Justin: Ooh. Wait, no, Wobbuffet.

PureLighter: well What if it was a little bit of a helper back in the day before we got a skeletorch because it needed apples for a while

Justin: Yeah, I did use my Wobbuffet for apples. I don't,

Hubsan x4 H502E Desire

oh, and then also it's Barry finding S and psychic.

PureLighter: yeah,

Justin: Mm hmm.

PureLighter: that's all right. It is a skill trigger though. So it does help out the team when it needs to

will also be shortened slightly and his carry limit increase which is Actually something slacking needed some people actually opted out of evolving into slacking for a few reasons of frequency eyes So it's not bad

Justin: hmm.

PureLighter: least.

It does have one of a good main [00:31:00] skill, additional stuff like It says gaming contents to a new Pokemon search pattern, you can now search by spec

Justin: And

PureLighter: a specialty.

Justin: that's,

PureLighter: searching for a Pokemon in your Pokemon box. So instead of having to worry about looking for

Justin: that's just,

PureLighter: ingredient finders, now you can search through the box that easily.

Justin: And so, I actually like that. I've been wondering why that wasn't already a thing. Like if I want to look for my berry finders to see what I'm missing, why can't I look for berry finders?

PureLighter: Mm-hmm I agree.

Justin: Is

PureLighter: to it will be the capacity limit for the ABAX items pockets will be unlocked.

Justin: other

PureLighter: It's gonna go from 800 to 1, 000. I didn't even know we can carry 800. I thought it was only 600.

Justin: And,

well, I'm not maxing out my bag item.

PureLighter: Yeah, not either.

Justin: I don't,

PureLighter: 200.

Justin: who needs a thousand?

PureLighter: whalers.

Justin: [00:32:00] Like what are you putting in there? I think I'm under two hundred.

PureLighter: Yeah, I'm actually, well, I'm at 200 capacity, but under 200 items right now.

Justin: Yeah, let me look what I'm at.

I bet it's like one sixty. Let's see. Oh, that's the wrong spot. Yeah, I'm at one forty.

PureLighter: Oh my goodness.

I'd never had needed that much item space.

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: because I was never using too many of the items, but then

Justin: 10.

PureLighter: use

Justin: did they mean the ingredient pocket?

PureLighter: No, it says item pocket there.

Justin: wonder if they meant ingredient because who needs that much items

your breath for 10

unless you just never spend

11.

you just never spend your items ever. I don't use any rare candy. I don't use any dream clusters I don't use any energy pillows. I just let it all stack up.

PureLighter: Oh,

Justin: Maybe that's it.

PureLighter: on my energy pillows one point.

Justin: You trashed them?

PureLighter: Yeah, well I use them on some occasions, but I don't have that many anymore [00:33:00] I used to have like 10 20 of them. Now. I just like five.

Justin: have any. I like, I'll get like one to two and then I'll use them and then I'm back to zero.

PureLighter: Yeah.

Justin: 10 seconds.

PureLighter: Yeah, I haven't really been using too many of the other items Just a lot of Pokemon instance

Justin: Oh, incense.

PureLighter: Mm hmm.

Justin: Huh,

PureLighter: I mean aside from what was that?

Justin: what was that or? What buffet?

PureLighter: oh, no I saw the game tag We have a brand new event announced just now

Justin: Oh, just now.

PureLighter: Just literally now, like literally I went back to the main menu and I saw the little tag, I was like, wait, what was

Justin: Maybe that's why I was having an error as I was opening this.

PureLighter: probably, all right. Well breaking news, everybody.

Justin: As of

PureLighter: literally a

Justin: p. m. Central Time in America.

PureLighter: Yeah. 9 PM. Oh, well, central time. It's 10

Justin: I

PureLighter: [00:34:00] Yep.

Justin: love it, it's so cute!

PureLighter: Well, we were just talking about the maintenance update that's gonna happen. Brand new Pokemons

Justin: Alright,

PureLighter: to Pokemon Go,

Justin: okay.

PureLighter: this is exciting.

Justin: Very exciting. Alright, I'm just gonna jump straight into it.

PureLighter: Go

Justin: Rufflet and Braviary, the best birdies, are coming to Pokemon Sleep. They are so cute. You see Rufflet, if you've ever seen him, he's a little puff ball. He's got a little puff head with a single feather on his forehead. He's got his little wings spread out.

He's just happy to be there. And then there's a happy, I can only assume mama or dada bird that's looking down on their Rufflet son, There have been reports of Rufflet and Braviary appearing near certain areas. Maybe this is thanks to sleep research you've all been conducting. It may be possible to encounter them during sleep research sometime soon. Rufflet. [00:35:00] Flying. Braviary. Flying type.

We don't think we have a ton of flying types in the game.

PureLighter: No, just a few here and there.

Justin: you hear

okay. If I read further down, newly arriving Pokemon details, appearing beginning January 20th, 2025 at 3 p. m. Let's see. Is that the middle of the week again?

PureLighter: no, that's next

Justin: No, it's a Monday.

PureLighter: Yeah,

Justin: Pokemon incense for new arrivals can be used starting from the date above and time above. Appearing at Greengrass Isle, Cyan Beach, and Snowdrop Tundra.

I might go to Cyan Beach just because I haven't been there in so long.

11.

PureLighter: agree with you, but I'm also gunning with Snowdrop Tundra.

Justin: oh, yeah, because then I could also hunt for The Sneasel,

PureLighter: Yeah.

Justin: yeah, maybe I will do Snowdrop. And then the sleep type is slumbering, which isn't great. I don't, [00:36:00] although I did get slumbering last night without manipulating it. Sometimes I got to put the device in a certain spot to get slumbering. Otherwise I move too much at night.

And then its main skill will be Berry Burst. Gets a set amount of berries plus a few. of each other berries of other Pokemon your team collect. Note that the number of berries you'll get is different than what you get from the skies.

PureLighter: yeah.

Justin: type, I'm gonna guess skill type, but I don't actually know.

PureLighter: Just based on the skill itself, but we are always wrong when it comes down to things. So we'll leave it at that. Let's say that it's a skill type for now. so it's not too bad in the end of the day, however, there's more to it because there's gonna be a brand new event happening right next to it.

Justin: Alright Luis, tell us about this [00:37:00] event, what is it called?

PureLighter: the super skill event. Oh my God. This is already,

Justin: My Ampharos is ready, my body is ready.

PureLighter: Let's do it. Okay, so get the most out of your Pokemon speciality during Super Skill Week. During this one week event, helper Pokemons with skill specialists can really shine.

Justin: front page

PureLighter: Also, Pokemons with a skill specialist will be more likely to appear and a limited time Beanie Candy boost will be available during this event.

So, if you're ready to power up Pokemons, this is your time.

Justin: Yes,

PureLighter: when is this happening? This is happening on Monday, January 20th to Monday, January 27th in all areas, so you can go anywhere you want

Justin: nice. Coincides great with Rufflet and Braviary.

PureLighter: Yes, so just pick your good, area to go to. The mission, of course, will also be throughout the 28th to the 27th, so mission period.

Justin: to this resource Where you will find

PureLighter: let's see.

Justin: the side to read or את Or

PureLighter: every single day of the event, from the 20th to the 26th, the chance of triggering the main skill of helpful Pokémons with [00:38:00] the skill specialist, will be multiplied by 1. 5.

Justin: Oh, interesting. It does specify skills specialty. So my blast source that I use all the time that it has high skill level does not get the boost.

PureLighter: Correct.

Justin: It's an ingredient finder.

PureLighter: Yep. It says here, the main skills levels of helper Pokemon with the skill specialties will be boosted by three when they trigger

Justin: that's pretty sick.

PureLighter: that is, Oh, I'm already warm from all that limited time. Many condi boots functions will be available.

Justin: a story

PureLighter: Pokemon's of different sleep tasks will appear during sleep research, regardless of sleep time for that day. So really don't have to manipulate anything. then certain Pokémons will be more likely to appear during sleep research.

Justin: than 10 years with

PureLighter: So, greater appearance rates.

Justin: this

PureLighter: Breviary will appear more throughout the event. So, it really depends on where you want to find it the most. And then everything else likely greater appearance will [00:39:00] be things like Meowth, Psyduck, Rowlet, Slowpoke, Magnemite, Eevee, Eaglipuff, Dugupie, Mareep, Heracross, Zebulai,

Justin: Australian

PureLighter: Gulping, Wynaut, Drifloon, Bonsly, and Eevee. Riolu, Pommy. So those are all skill triggers skill specials, right, as

Justin: Correct.

PureLighter: And then it tells you which Pokémons could be in each island here. The most notable ones, of course, because we already know most of this, will be Rufflet and Braviary, which we know they're in Snubdundrundra, Scion Beach, and Greengrass Isle.

Justin: theonomy,

PureLighter: if you really want to prioritize Getting those new pokemons go to an island that will have lesser spawns of the other ones, which unfortunately

Justin: don't go to green gas.

PureLighter: Yeah, unfortunately, it looks like both time beating snub dub tundra will have Appearances between the two even though rufflet and breviary will appear more greatly at that point

Justin: the

PureLighter: in mind that when it comes down to it have information about the limited time candy boost already, which we already know that will have [00:40:00] the function of 50 candies per day

Justin: word

PureLighter: And

Justin: work, and

PureLighter: of course the

Justin: Okay. Actually this seals cyan beach

PureLighter: yeah

Justin: Gralith left my boy. I do actually want another Heracross because I have one, but it's like, it doesn't have any good skills. It just has skill level up M. And then it has a Ruffle Embraviary.

PureLighter: I'll definitely have to plan out what Pokemons I'm going to want, be wanting more skill triggers to appear. but I think I'm going to be in the same decision as you and go to Scion Beach for this. Just because there's a few other Pokemons that I'm hoping to get as mono and things like that. So,

It

Justin: Maybe get a shiny Eevee.

PureLighter: Again.

Justin: Oh, I've never gotten one.

PureLighter: I did, but you know. So, it's

Justin: Mr. Fancy over here.

PureLighter: Yeah, it's not bad when it comes down to it. Roughly, I remember it being flying types will be really helpful in Scion Beach anyways. [00:41:00] so long as, of course, it seems like there are going to be skill triggers just because this whole event is about skill triggers.

Justin: All right. So that is cool. The limited time candy boost. So it's kind of like what we were talking about before you do get twice the amount of a EXP for four times the amount of dream shards. Now, one of the events we had recently, I think was five times the amount. So this being four times, the amount is quote unquote, good value.

If you can call it that, but again, would recommend Pokemon under level 30, that you do this too. Once you get above level 30, it's so crazy expensive. I just knew it'd be insane.

PureLighter: Well, it's a good thing I didn't power anything up at this point.

Justin: Yeah, it's like the last time we had it when it was the five times, I didn't even, I didn't use it at all. I didn't have anything I needed to power up that desperately.

PureLighter: Yeah, no, so definitely plan out what you would like to power up throughout this [00:42:00] event and just be ready with your dream shirts and everything.

Justin: Yeah.

PureLighter: else.

Justin: also the traditional notes that they put in here about like, you know, when to track your sleep data and stuff, but it's kind of the same every time. So

PureLighter: Yeah. So just keep in

Justin: don't be dumb.

PureLighter: Just go to sleep. That's all you gotta do.

Justin: Transcriptive Aikido.

PureLighter: At least press the damn sleep button when you play the game.

Justin: one of the basic principles that we have in our

PureLighter: Exciting, at least for the very first big event of 2025.

Justin: Transcriptive

PureLighter: brand new and a brand new type of event. So really,

Justin: yeah,

PureLighter: actually

Justin: that's very cool.

PureLighter: about this.

I'm always a sucker for skill triggers. So I may do a couple of things now that I'm going to

Justin: I'm a sucker for birds.

PureLighter: Yeah, true.

Justin: Oh, I.

PureLighter: you actually saw in your vacation?

Justin: Oh, I have an app and in this app, it was like real life Pokemon go, well, not Pokemon, more like a Pokemon snap because I'm like, all right, what bird is that? And like, okay, it was. Black with white on its [00:43:00] wings. And it's about the size of a crow.

Oh, it's the Australian magpie. And then like stuff like that. there's some, you can identify by sound based off their call. I could record their call and do that. and then we also saw a bunch of parrots.

PureLighter: There you go.

Justin: So, which is always a dream of mine to see.

PureLighter: Yep.

Justin: So they have a couple different types of parrots there. And there's this one type called the Kia. And it is an alpine parrot. It's the only species of parrot that lives in the mountains. And It is so like curious. it's like a five year old and it's also destructive. So we were asking the, the people at the information center, like, yeah.

So if I wanted to take a hike over here,

PureLighter: a

Justin: is in like a national park.

PureLighter: You

Justin: where do you know where I could find some kias and they're like, Oh yeah, just go to the parking lots. I was like the parking lots. Yeah. The [00:44:00] parking lots of like. X trail, Y trail, and Z trail. They will, they like to hang out there like, Oh, okay.

So we show up there in the parking lot. Sure enough, they're just like diving on top of cars and then just like chewing on things.

PureLighter: There you go.

Justin: They're like,

PureLighter: when you want to, you know?

Justin: yeah,

PureLighter: Alright, so that was, again, very exciting stuff happening very, very soon, guys. So luckily we were able to catch it for you this time around. So let's get quickly into our deep dive and something that we've been alluding since the beginning of the podcast today,

Justin: yes.

PureLighter: we talk about.

Justin: Louise, tell us about the good night ribbon.

PureLighter: So the good night ribbon, and thankfully I have our friends at game8. co to give us some really good information about this. the good night ribbon was actually introduced at the one year anniversary of Pokemon Sleep. It did help out in a few ways how you're really going to [00:45:00] manage it. So the good night ribbon will be applied to your Pokemon's the more you sleep with them.

So the more you spend time with them and go to sleep with them. And throughout the time the more sleep hours you get with them, you'll get more chances on the good night

Justin: Can I point out something I've noticed that I'm curious that they'll fix at a certain point? You know, every time you level up your Pokemon or unlock a new sub skill, it increases your RP.

PureLighter: Mm hmm.

Justin: When you get a good night ribbon or you level up your good night ribbon, it does not increase your RP. I find that weird, even though like your skills are better now.

PureLighter: Yes. But the good night river effects goes by levels and definitely needs to know what level it gets. I don't know if you actually have gotten the 2000 hour good nights

Justin: I'm when I leveled my blastoice leveled up from the 1000 to 2000,

a leader on team one,

PureLighter: Mm hmm. All right. Well, I think it matters in a different way when it comes down to it. So let's go [00:46:00] really quick.

Justin: работаем на

PureLighter: Yes.

Justin: ссенарии, ну Spring

PureLighter: It's like comeback power in Pokemon GO. It's just CP level or something like that.

Justin: producing our

PureLighter: So we have four levels of the good night ribbon. Starting at level one, it requires 200 hours of sleep share with the Pokemon and

Justin: we

PureLighter: that it gives it is carry limit added to one. So it carries one more berry or ingredient to the already stack of carry limit that it has. Level two, it requires 500 sleep hours. So we're getting up in the numbers of sleep. The carry limits of the Pokemon will increase by two,

Justin: PDF

PureLighter: also has the. Yes,

Justin: see a

PureLighter: plus three, correct.

Justin: certain

PureLighter: And other bonuses to the level two would be if the Pokémon can still evolve once,

Justin: there's a

PureLighter: its frequency, or helping frequency, will be shortened [00:47:00] by 5%. So basically, a helping bonus subskill.

Justin: there is

PureLighter: if the Pokémon can still evolve twice, meaning to a second stage evolution, like

Justin: the

PureLighter: You know, Palmini to Palmo to Palmino, whatever it is called.

Justin: how I would

PureLighter: was twice, it's helping frequency will be shortened by 11%. So double, even more double than the helping bonus

Justin: you.

PureLighter: at that point.

Justin: It's

PureLighter: which is great. However, if that means that the Pokemon needs to be able to evolve during those times that you get that ribbons.

Justin: just, you know, putting

PureLighter: Correct. So with that, of course, being the case, we have level three requires 1000 sleep hours share with the Pokemon and a carry limit of plus three.

Justin: a lot

PureLighter: So

Justin: work

PureLighter: an extra

Justin: translating short for translateions

PureLighter: limits rather than, and then you also get a special profile icon for the help of Pokemon. So, you know, [00:48:00] something that you can display that you have slept so much with this Pokemon. And then level four, we have the 2000 hours sleep share with the Pokemon,

Justin: the

PureLighter: So at this point you do have Eight carry limit extra for the Pokemon

Again, this is another thing that it's added to the bonus of 2, 000 sleeps If the Pokemon can still evolve once it felt helping frequency will be shortened by an additional 7 percent and if the Pokemon can still evolve twice its helping frequency will be shortened by an additional 14% If you guys don't know what I'm talking about at this point, don't worry, I'll explain right now. So the reason why the good sleep ribbon is actually great on early stage Pokemons,

Justin: Text.

PureLighter: basically what I'm doing with my Pumney at this point,

Justin: Text

PureLighter: the frequency does help a lot and in a lot of ways to make sure that the Pokemon can get a berry [00:49:00] or ingredients or even just help itself trigger a little bit better at that point. Knowing that you need to have the Pokémon at its base form still means that you're

Justin: Dial

PureLighter: investing on a long term Pokémon that's gonna have better stats once it fully evolves in the future. Since the effects of the good ribbon stack, both the carry limit and the frequency,

Justin: you

PureLighter: you're actually having a really strong, fast Pokemon if you do invest in early stage Pokemons at that point.

So, even if the Pokemon is only one evolution, having a percent frequency shortened by the time you get to level 4, it's incredible. I mean, just getting it fast enough is, it's amazing. You can do this with berry finders too, because it will just bring the berries and sneaky snacking so quickly at that point.

Justin: file and see,

PureLighter: same time goes with having an additional almost

Justin: a child.

PureLighter: percent

Justin: child [00:50:00] is

PureLighter: and that's not including any of the subskills like helping bonus or helping speed at that point so that just makes the pokemon incredibly fast in its own right both for maybe fairy fighters the best but also for any additional skill specialist or ingredient fighters at that point

Justin: We

PureLighter: The icons are pretty cool too.

You get a nice special I do. My guard works over well over 2000 hours of sleep at this point.

Justin: do our,

PureLighter: Hmm.

Justin: our,

PureLighter: Yep.

Justin: articles.

PureLighter: I'm using my shiny Mimikyu right now. You know?

Justin: But

PureLighter: it's something like this. So it gets right here on the, on the article, it gets you like best Pokemon to use the good ribbon for. And honestly, works better with berry finders. just for the reason that it outspeeds things like that and everything that I can barely see that, but, you know,

Justin: for watching. Table.

PureLighter: It gets to an example with level two [00:51:00] onyx or level four onyx at that point, when it comes down to things, the base value of speed in onyx will be like 51 minutes and 40 seconds or something like that

Justin: Postcard.

PureLighter: two, it goes down to 49 minutes and five seconds.

And at level four without evolving, it that extra 7 percent boost and frequency it's 45 minutes. So it really does lower the ability.

Justin: table.

PureLighter: gather those berries faster when it comes down to things. So,

Justin: Fraud.

PureLighter: and even gets you frequency when in comparison for bigger audience slacking and things like that.

So it's definitely something that you want to invest if you have the chance to invest it.

Justin: Traitory

PureLighter: The only reason why it's a long term investment is because 2000 hours is about

Justin: course,

PureLighter: worth of

Justin: you gotta keep traitors.

PureLighter: of sleep with that Pokemon. So I'm definitely sacrificing a lot when it comes down to it, but I am adjusting currently at that point. [00:52:00] Yeah. Yeah. So you got it. You really got it. Mm. Which is crazy. And that's just bass frequency at that point. So yeah, the article itself just gives you better examples when it comes down to you know, the good ribbon effects and things, how it works out in the end of the day. So keep in mind. Yeah. Which is cool Ah, man, but yeah, I really think that just because of the way that i'm looking into things. Well, I just lost.

Oh, there he is Knowing that the good sleep ribbon will always be a beneficial factor. You just need to know when to use it Or when to actually apply it because you really want it on the base pokémons instead of the evolved pokémons at that point So maybe i'll look for a better gardener which I don't know how I can get any better than that Actually, I can but need a really good [00:53:00] nature one Yeah, that's true. Unless it's a shiny. Ahahaha! Always, son. I mean, my last shiny was not that bad though. It had double the greeting. Yeah, right? Alright, let's not get too much longer on here. Let's get into our next, last piece of Detective wise, Dream Decks Detective is back. I know it's been a couple weeks. Ah man since it's been a couple weeks, let's remind Justin what he needed to guess this time around, because I'm sure he wanted to.

So, Entry or at least guess entry would be this Pokemon feeds on soil on very rare occasions You might find one holding a half eaten clump of earth as he sleeps it grew sleepy after feeling its [00:54:00] belly. So just what is your guess? That's true Is that your final answer? It is not. It's a ground type at this first two stages. There you go, finally. Yep. Yep, you know funny enough. I actually picked it without you being in the turn at that point, but you know You know, there's a lot of Pokemon said that does that just that process wise I'm thinking like The Geodude line the Onix line the Pinsir line and of course the Gravin line just for that reason alone just because it has a [00:55:00] sturdy body. So it kind of sounds like Steelix at that point But we'll see we'll see Oh, we've been catching up so it's nice All right, well will finalize things here. Make sure that you, email us anything to sleepitoffpod at gmail. com, if anything, or you can also voice text or picture line at 732 835 8639. you can also check our link three for the Pokemon Professor Network, if you want to check us out there. and that's pretty about it, it? Justin, I think it's time to go to sleep. Good luck with that. Have a good night everybody

[00:56:00]
