Good morning, Pokémon Sleep researchers, and welcome to episode 15 of Sleep It Off. Sleep It Off is part of the Pokémon Professor [00:01:00] Network, and today is Thursday, February 6th, 2025. I am your host, Luis Palacios. My co host, Justin.
Justin: Hey, did you say it's February already?
PureLighter: My goodness.
Justin: Where is the year gone? ~Did the,~
PureLighter: this point, let's just go to Christmas again, right?
Justin: did Groundhog see his shadow? Do we remember?
PureLighter: Yes, so it's six more weeks of winter.
Justin: Well, they need to tell that to Texas because ~it's been like, ~it was 83 today.
PureLighter: you can say the same thing for Florida, man.
Justin: ~Yeah. ~Yeah. Well, you know,
PureLighter: the 80s and I'm
Justin: we live in where winter doesn't live.
PureLighter: yeah, the mornings are good. The afternoons I'm stuck at work and then the rest of the day is just like night time. So
Justin: Yeah. So my group, we, you know, we like to be healthy. And so we organize a group walk around 2 p. m. And so, ~I like, ~I got some sun, so we go walk outside, it's about like 20 minutes, 25 minutes,
PureLighter: That's good though. I mean, it's better than having to sit and, [00:02:00] work all day
Justin: yeah,
PureLighter: you know, so it
Justin: yeah,
PureLighter: but it's been a couple of weeks since we last recorded
Justin: it has, oh, yeah,
PureLighter: Kind of. Yeah. I think it's mostly because after the last one, we didn't really have too much to cover and it's just been kind of like a quiet week or so.
Justin: yes, and, you know, another event, a new event, I'm excited for it, we didn't have a Valentine's event last year, did we?
PureLighter: I believe we did because we had new recipes for the desserts back then too.
Justin: Oh, is that when we got the, the macaroons?
PureLighter: Yep.
Justin: Oh, because they're heart shaped. ~I should have, ~I should have remembered.
PureLighter: Hey,
Justin: know,
PureLighter: a year and a half so
Justin: if I'm,
PureLighter: forget.
Justin: ~if I, ~if I remember, I'll put it in the edit right here. Boop! And if not, I'm going to delete this.[00:03:00]
PureLighter: Oh man but yeah, so we have a full year and a half of this game already been out. It is pokemon month at
Justin: A year and a half?
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: Wow.
PureLighter: it's crazy.
Justin: Can you believe we've been hitting our little Pokéball Plus Pluses and we're now setting it on our watch or even just using the phone app? ~Since then.~
PureLighter: I can remember the first time that I tried to actually play the game. I tried to do the 90 minute tutorial. I was on the couch
Justin: Yeah, man.
PureLighter: by the time ~I, I, ~I finished the, like the one hour or whatever, it only recorded like five minutes because I was moving around too much. ~I~
Justin: before they fixed it, the, if you did it on the phone, it just got so hot and consumed so much battery as it was trying to record under your pillow. I was like, this is horrible. How do people do it? Does he got to use the Pokeball plus plus maybe they're trying to sell more of them. But [00:04:00] I, Oh, ~I had a, ~I had a nightmare moment where I thought I lost it.
PureLighter: Oh,
Justin: And then I found it the pocket of a pair of pants that I thought went through the wash.
PureLighter: I
Justin: And then luckily, I saw a stain on them, and I was like, Wait, these have not been through the wash! We're good.
PureLighter: Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I trust me. I would not be here without my Go at this
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: of my essential everyday Pokemon Go and Pokemon Sleep.
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: to reset my Pikachu because I had to get a new one, that would be insane.
Justin: I, for some reason I've fully transitioned now we're getting off of like, you know, the show topics and everything,
PureLighter: True.
Justin: but I fully like doing the Apple watch now. I just, it's more convenient. It tracks it better for me. It's more forgiving. ~If I, ~if I have to get up to pee in the middle of the night, just. It's all around more forgiving than the [00:05:00] Pokeball that I have to, like, wedge under the side of the bed.
PureLighter: Well, I'm sure, you know, it appreciates anybody trying to push it around, so you know. But. we do have some information for you guys today. Some news, our usual come and go So we have 1. 5 anniversary rewards from the developers. We have Good Sleep Day number 19 coming up. Looks like we're getting brand new Pokemon Day views.
And the reason why we talk about the Valentine's Day event is because we want There is going to be another event for the Valentines. We'll deep dive into some desserts because it is something that ties into our beautiful events. And then our simple drink dexitectus, hopefully I can get this one so I can keep this drink going.
Justin: Remind me, is it your guess or mine?
PureLighter: It's your [00:06:00] guess to me, and then I got to give you a new guess. ~So~
Justin: Got it.
PureLighter: But yeah. Shall we get into the sleep news?
Justin: Let's get into the news. The first one, the one and a half year anniversary
gifts.
PureLighter: Woo.
Justin: Let's see, distribution period. Oh man, these dates are throwing me off. January 22nd, 2025 to April 7th, 2025. Right?
PureLighter: Nah.
Justin: right?
PureLighter: April 8th.
Justin: Mine says 2025 slash 04 slash 07
PureLighter: Mine says 2025. Show for slash out eight
Justin: what? You're looking at the Pokemon sleep net article, right?
PureLighter: ~Yeah. ~Yeah. The one that I put on the notes.
Justin: I literally
clicked on it. ~is happening?~
PureLighter: ~don't know. Do you have, ~I don't know. Maybe you're, oh, because you, no,
Justin: mean, I'm in central time,
but it's still
PureLighter: yeah, it's
Justin: the same day [00:07:00] here. ~This is ~this is generic. I'm gonna refresh the page
PureLighter: Me too. Just in case.
Justin: It still says 2025 slash 04 slash 07. ~I don't know. Okay.~
PureLighter: am not sure, but
Justin: You know, forget what just happened, you know. All right. So here's what we're going to get. 1000 sleep points, five pokey biscuits, two friend incense, 10 handy candy S. This applies to players who log in during the distribution period. So anytime over this like three month period, plus or minus a day, you know, 738. so those of you. who listen because you like our pretty voices and haven't been playing recently adam no i mean no he's been good i've been tracking him You can get some nice perks. We're just coming back. Sleep points. Amazing. It's like the best thing you can get in the game. In my opinion,
PureLighter: Yes that's [00:08:00] basically the currency of this game if you don't want to spend gems.
Justin: Pokey biscuits are great, sleep points, you can spend on whatever
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: incense, fun, useful,
PureLighter: always a plus.
Justin: not as good as sleep points, but still pretty good. And then handy candy S always use more of that. That's just like, doesn't want rare candy?
PureLighter: Everybody. My take on it, yes, as always, sleep points are always the best. It's always nice when the developer just gives us a nice little gift here and there. And even if it's just 500 or so. Thank you. The friend instance though, I think it's great with what the event is coming up with and good
Justin: Good old Valentine's.
PureLighter: So, know, it'd be kind of it's been kind of good the last few events Actually wouldn't even recap what we got in the last few
Justin: Yeah. we can go back to that.
But friend incense, [00:09:00] I just haven't, I hadn't, because when I got this, I probably used it somewhat quickly. I think we're in an event when I first got it.
PureLighter: Right, Yeah
Justin: And, when I was like on a Sunday, it was like a really high day, something. Anyways, I haven't used a friend's incense in months. Because I don't buy incense from the shop with diamonds. And so unless we get it through Daily Lottery, or another event perk, or sometimes like, you know, there's like the event currency, like, Legendary Mains, or whatever, I'll use that to buy, but Other than that, I haven't, I just haven't been using them or had them.
PureLighter: Well I haven't really used them that much either. Just because there's really no reason to get the extra spawns since I probably have already seen 99 percent of the decks at this point. Well, maybe like 90. But it's mostly because I've just been [00:10:00] focusing on other things that ~Just ~are more priority.
And of course I'll use it when an event tells me, Oh, you got to use an instance for this kind of thing. You know, that or the, whatchamacallit, the recovery instance, which I only have one now. Oh my goodness.
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: too many of those.
Justin: ~This will be a good, I was going to say, ~this would be a good test for the podcast. A fire truck and an ambulance and a police car just drove by. If you can hear it, then the editing didn't get the job done. But if you can't hear it, that means I had good editing.
PureLighter: I'm just waiting for the train.
Justin: Oh man. If I can get rid of the train, then
PureLighter: ~That'd be, ~that'd be great. Yes.
Justin: we're cooking with grief.
PureLighter: Yes. All right. Well again, thank you. Yeah. Elka in the Pokemon works for the information is NASA like
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: but it's still there. ~So some~
Justin: Yeah. I wonder if they're really involved anymore.
PureLighter: You know at this point if
Justin: I mean, we're not going to know.
PureLighter: Yeah, unless we get a developer to actually tell us what the heck [00:11:00] happened, you know It's like maybe we'll just bombard them on Twitter or something
Justin: Yeah,
PureLighter: ~so we got that see ~So real quick before we move on to the next piece of news Do you remember what you got and how you spent the last two weeks worth of gameplay?
Justin: yeah, so, I didn't want to have to do what I did the last time and try to remember, so I just started increasing my storage and keeping the stuff that I caught.
PureLighter: Right, that's good. Yeah.
Justin: Let's see, in my handy dandy Pokédex here. What did I catch recently? First we're gonna look at the shinies that I caught
PureLighter: Oh
Justin: because I caught a few.
PureLighter: When you say a few just two or three
Justin: It might be two. Let's see. I had the shiny flaffy. I'm pretty sure we did that last episode.
PureLighter: Yes, same thing
Justin: Let's see.
PureLighter: [00:12:00] my shiny quack sire
Justin: Yeah, so I've gotten two shinies in the last week.
PureLighter: same
Justin: A
PureLighter: actually three.
Justin: here's the camera, a shiny red Aaron.
PureLighter: That's cool.
Justin: And just this morning, a primate.
PureLighter: Hey, there you go. I mean a fully walled Pokemon's are nice just because you can just catch it with one
Justin: Yeah, that's great. It's just like, even if you're not good, I just enjoy the simple giving you a pokey biscuit, critical catch. Boom. Now, primate, not good. Double inventory up main skill chance up. Yeah, ~it's, ~it's not good for berry Pokemon. Let's see. Shiny Aron is actually interesting.
PureLighter: All right
Justin: Because it has Berry Finding S, Ingredient Finder M, with Sausage, Coffee, Sausage. And I can always use [00:13:00] more Sausage and Coffee at the same time. So
PureLighter: not a bad sign.
Justin: It is interesting. And then an ingredient finder S at level 50.
PureLighter: Oh
Justin: recovery up, main skill chance down, lax nature. So,
PureLighter: That's a really decent one ~really I~
Justin: yeah, honestly,
PureLighter: percent
Justin: already invested in one, but this is pretty good.
PureLighter: especially with a
Justin: So,
PureLighter: finder That's like almost
Justin: I just, yeah,
PureLighter: Scott like
Justin: I should have remembered ~that I had, ~that I had this, because I just powered up my aggron more today.
PureLighter: Ah, well, I mean, you are invested in one, it's not too bad to invest in the other
Justin: Yeah, and hmm, maybe I'll just keep that one at level 30 and I'll also put this one up to level 30.
PureLighter: What's your DreamShard count right now?
Justin: Oh, you don't want to know.
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: see
PureLighter: I almost had over 600, 000
Justin: we are at 4, [00:14:00] 999.
PureLighter: You would need another
Justin: I have been a spending machine.
PureLighter: Yeah, I can tell. I invested in a few things mostly because of the
Justin: So, oh, first, before you invest. Did you get any shinies?
PureLighter: Yes.
Justin: Any good ones?
PureLighter: I
Justin: Ooh, Mime Jr. ~I don't even, ~I didn't even know what that one looked like.
PureLighter: Yeah. ~A little~
Justin: Tomatoes, potatoes, ~tomatoes. ~And let's see,
PureLighter: yeah,
Justin: he's got
PureLighter: down to the
Justin: inventory up. Is that Barry finding S
PureLighter: Yes.
Justin: and speed of help up?
PureLighter: Yeah, but it has ingredient finding down,
Justin: Oh, yeah.
Hmm. Yeah.
PureLighter: I will always want to test out the mim mechanic, but ~if you, ~because of the nature, it just kinda killed it.
I did get another.
Justin: Another shiny Evie.
PureLighter: Yeah, I'm surprised.
Justin: It is the year of Evie. ~So.~
PureLighter: yeah, the stats could be a little bit better. I think we have nature stats.[00:15:00]
Justin: recovery bonus, dream shard bonus, inventory up, blank nature. Yeah, your other one is so much better.
PureLighter: oh yeah, and I evolved that, actually.
Justin: Oh, you did. You finally chose. What did you decide on?
PureLighter: I chose some Vaporeon,
Justin: Yeah.
~Yeah.~
PureLighter: shiny, and during the skill event, that actually, that was triggering so much. I was getting so much ingredients from that thing. It was beautiful. Last but not least, I actually got one less shiny.
Nice little Ghastly here,
Justin: very cool. It's ABC ingredient list. But
PureLighter: Not too bad actually, helping,
Justin: bonus, helping speed, ~speed of help ~up. Nice.
PureLighter: yeah, it
Justin: ~it's, ~it's ABC. So it's like,
PureLighter: yeah, not something I should invest on so far.
Justin: If you just, like, had currency to spend, you had candies to use, which you might have because Gengar has been so [00:16:00] popular and so many candies recently, you could take it to level 30 and just do, what is it? Herbs and Mushrooms. You could always use more mushrooms.
PureLighter: Always it's not a bad combination, especially because it's shiny. Now, let me ask you, did you get a good roughlet from the release?
Justin: Let's see here. ~I caught, I caught more than I thought. ~I caught four Rufflets and a Braviary.
PureLighter: Oh,
Justin: The Braviary crit. So I
was like, I'll take it.
PureLighter: had, ~the, ~the same amount of roughlets and a crit, or well, not a crit, but a hungry bravery. So I was able to just bonus biscuit it.
Justin: All right. So let's remind ourselves here. So we're going to search by flying type. that way I can pull them up easier.
PureLighter: Good choice.
Justin: ~Recent, ~recent rough lit. And remember it's a skill nature
PureLighter: Hmm
Justin: ingredient finder M inventory up and speed [00:17:00] of help up. Not great. And the ingredient finder again at 50 pass. This one is interesting.
PureLighter: Okay,
Justin: the bravery area that I caught though.
PureLighter: okay
Justin: Skill trigger S, inventory up M, helping speed M. So it requires another skill,
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: speed, and ~I would, but ~I would use the subskill C to get to skill trigger M. ~it's like, ~it's interesting, right? The other roughlet, it has helping speed S, but speed of help down nature, so that's a pass. Okay, I have to remind myself, it's like, that's not shiny, right?
PureLighter: no definitely not
Justin: Let's see, another roughlet, a bunch of, it has skill trigger, well, it does have skill trigger M at level 50. But nothing else.
PureLighter: Long term investment and only one time low decent.
Justin: ~And then the, ~and then my last [00:18:00] one as skill trigger asset 25, but EXP down and then just not enough candies. I just can't do EXP down.
PureLighter: Yeah. Well, I can it's just again long terms
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: My very first ~raffle ~raffle it. I got one with main skill chance up for nature skill level of s and everything else it is helping speed and ingredient fund. So I was like, okay This seems pretty decent, especially because it has the level up and the skill trigger and bow weights But then I caught the bravery after that.
I think I got another rough lot after that, but I think I deleted it. This one has both skill level up M at 25 and skill trigger M at 50. So I was like, okay, that is technically a little bit better. It does have experience down with ingredient funded apps, but I was like, doesn't seem too bad.
long term investment, but it's already evolved, so I may have to invest more, seeds into it. Especially [00:19:00] for the skill. Then I have the other roughlet. This one, I'm not sure I'm keeping, I'm probably gonna trash it at some point. It does have skill as a 10, but then after that everything else is either late or, you know, not in math investment at the point.
Second to last rough let's, I may just stretch this one too. It, I, the only reason I kept that is because I've had the skill trigger as at level a hundred, everything else doesn't really help it. So at that point
Justin: Even these level 7500
skills, they don't exist to me.
PureLighter: ~I know, ~I know, but I'm always looking at the
Justin: Even if it was unlocked. I don't even have the ~or ~dream shards or blastoise to get to 75.
PureLighter: Yeah, they definitely don't. so I might just trash that one just because ~it's, ~it's easier to just get a new one. Not the last one that I got. one seems pretty promising. level up or inventory up L at 10. skill level up s at 25 skill [00:20:00] level up m at 50.
Justin: Oh,
PureLighter: it has all
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: it has all the skill levels that I
Justin: Yes.
PureLighter: and it also is a gentle nature with main skill gens.
Justin: You know what? ~I, ~I would strongly, ~it's like a, ~it's like a low risk, high reward. Hmm.
PureLighter: surprisingly, it has ingredient m and verifying it at the last two slots.
It has the ability to have as much possible inventory, thanks to a level inventory L.
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: It
Justin: Which is good because you know, ~if you fill it, ~if you max out your inventory, you're not going to trigger the skill.
PureLighter: true. once it evolves, it gets even more inventory. I don't have to spend more than probably one seed to get it to a max level main skill. And it still has main skill chance up, so it will go through it. I'll do a calculation on the background, but I believe that might be ~the ~the one that I'm gonna invest to the most in the end of the day.[00:21:00]
Justin: Very nice. ~Alright, so, looking at something,~
PureLighter: Mm
Justin: I was also searching for croagunks because I need more
PureLighter: Oil.
Justin: oil farmers. Like, I just, I never have enough oil. Even though I have a good Cramorant. ~a good, Toxicroak Oil Farmers. ~They're just, ~it's just not, ~it's just never enough.
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: I'm looking for a better one.
PureLighter: and
Justin: you know, I caught some other things. ~I've been, ~I was looking for Berry Finding S Minky. Didn't get it. ~I, you know, ~I caught a Heracross, which was fun,
but not any good.
PureLighter: Pinsir are just the two that I feel like it's only possible if you get it and hopefully to be a good
Justin: But the, so you wanna, if you had to guess, do you think I spent all my Dream Shards on? ~I spent, ~it was Flareon. I spent almost 300, 000 Dream Shards taken from level 50 to 60.
PureLighter: But hey, it's a good investment.
Justin: But [00:22:00] yeah, but look at it now. It's name is Triggered,
PureLighter: 000. That's
Justin: 6, 000. Isn't that crazy? I didn't even know they went that high.
PureLighter: ~I, ~I'm surprised it says who you are, brother.
Justin: Yeah, because it's, you know, it's
PureLighter: I think even
Justin: skill trigger and skill trigger as its main skill chance up and then skill level seven. So,
PureLighter: That's pretty good. Yeah, I like that. I mean, it's good to invest on the ones that you're definitely going to. I did actually have two Pokemons now at level 60, but the other one is the Pommy that I'm still working on. ~So,~
Justin: and then let's see, did we talk last time how I invested in Ampharos?
PureLighter: I believe you did tell me just
Justin: Okay.
PureLighter: to use it for the skill.
Justin: ~Yeah. ~Yeah. So I finally invested all the skill seeds. It's skill level seven now. And yeah, pretty good.
PureLighter: That
Justin: It was
PureLighter: good.
Justin: triggering like crazy during that event.
PureLighter: dude, that event was like,
Justin: Oh man,
PureLighter: I loved it. ~That was,~
Justin: ~it was a great event. ~It was a great event. We did. I wish they'd do it more often.
Like, I [00:23:00] also enjoy the cooking events, but that was the first time we ever had a skill event. And I just don't ever focus on skill Pokemon. So I had that and I had my gold duck running at the same time. It was just like pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. Even though I was like traveling. At the time
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: anytime I picked up the game, Oh, my game's unfrozen. My phone is literally unfrozen. Cause you know, snow and Oh, trigger. Nice.
PureLighter: ~I, ~I, again, even my pony was doing work during that week. I was so crazy. Wow. That's interesting. I'm running right next right now ~on, ~on that rough let, and he's telling me that it, because it doesn't have a skill trigger subscale that is in the low thirties of PRS.
Justin: Hmm.
PureLighter: That's crazy. I mean, it has the [00:24:00] gentle nature, so it will trigger a lot.
Justin: Right. Did you look at skill trigger amount though?
PureLighter: Man I was talking how my roughlet was actually in Red Knox. It seemed like a pretty bad
Justin: Oh, I was just gonna say, did you check the individual, like, how many times it'll trigger? like, sometimes, know, you're like, oh, I have a pretty good one, and then you look at the total strength, and it's like, it's like a 60. I'm like, okay, but how many times does it trigger its skill? 99! I'm like, okay, that's what I wanted.
I wanted the skill, I didn't care about the
PureLighter: Right. ~Yeah It~
Justin: sausage. I'm
PureLighter: say let's see. What's my what is mine?
I mean, it says that's gonna skill trigger a lot for some reason it says You Wait, is this mine? Yeah,
Justin: a percentile.
PureLighter: it's, I may be looking at this wrong just for a couple of reasons [00:25:00] Wait,
what's mine then? Oh Okay. Okay. It says that I'll trigger like two times per day at a droplet level out of three that it could be better you know, and I think because of the energy recovery down It's that's keeping it from the the calculator to go through, you know, now most of the time my, my, my Pokemon's are going to be fully healed just because of my team.
Justin: Sure. ~so~
PureLighter: Yeah.
Justin: was
PureLighter: That's only on rufflet though.
Justin: a day.
PureLighter: haven't even put it in evolution mode. ~Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.~
Justin: if I'm going to invest in this thing, I put it as the evolved form, so Braviary, and I put it as level 50. Because it's like, ~I, only, ~I only take things level 60 if A, if it's an ingredient Pokemon, or B, I just love the thing, like I love Flareon.
PureLighter: I'll look at it ~as a, ~as a Bravior at this point. It does seem [00:26:00] somewhat similar a little bit higher.
Justin: Because two
PureLighter: Yeah, it seems weird. ~Oh,~
Justin: my Ampharos, with level 7 main skill, that normally only triggers 3 and a half times a day, ~I only, ~I only run it if it's like favorite berry type, ~or I have the, I'm not, ~or I'm like not
PureLighter: yeah I don't know. It just feels like that rating because it doesn't take into account The level ups on the main skill and anything like that either.
Yeah, how Raynox really helps. Yeah
Justin: How to use rain and X properly, what you're kind of looking at and you have to, it's not like
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: many things you can do with it and you just
PureLighter: Yeah. No, that's for sure
Justin: looking at. So anyways, I think that was enough
PureLighter: up events
Justin: [00:27:00] the,
PureLighter: Yeah, the scale up event.
~Yeah, true.~
Justin: well of the
PureLighter: We've been saying for the, for the entirely of it that the event just, it's probably one of the best regardless. At least for us, they like to see the triggers go up and up in value. Like stonks goes up and everything.
It's like triggers.
Justin: Yeah.
PureLighter: Like, okay. But yeah, I believe it's time for a break.
Justin: all right. I'll be back right after this.
PureLighter: Good afternoon!
Justin: Alright, and we're back. Good evening. Good night? No. Alright. We want to take a moment to recognize some [00:28:00] of our patrons on the Pokemon Professor Network. PureLighter: No, we're good.[00:29:00]
Justin: That's it, right? I didn't forget one? And make sure to check out PokemonProfessor. com, that's the website that we built. And, it's pretty slick. It's a pretty good website. Not to brag, but I'm gonna brag. And ~y ~you know, you can connect with us, grab some merch, leave some reviews. Five stars are the best stars.
PureLighter: Yes,
Justin: But yeah, no, ~we, ~it's something we've been thinking about, thinking about changing up some of like the Patreon, how that kind of works, you know, different tiers, that type of stuff. So, you know,
stay in the loop. We'll keep you
PureLighter: All right, so let's get back into some quick news. Hopefully some quick, but we have some more stuff to talk about anyways. Good sleep day number 19. A year and a half, once again. Thank you. And this is happening once it loads up for me because [00:30:00] it's a slow computer today. This is happening. The event period is Tuesday, February 11th at 4 AM.
Of course, to Friday, February 14th, Valentine's day. Yeah.
Justin: during the Valentine's event. That's fun. I actually really like these double triggering events. Good sleep day on top of whatever the event is in this case, Valentine's
PureLighter: Yes. I mean, Kind of Soufflé, but you know, anyways. The day of the full moon is on Wednesday, February 12th. So that's when you'll get your highest drowsy power. Once again, you know, Pokémon sleep tiles you haven't discovered yet are more likely to appear during the sleep research. So, I'm guessing everybody's gonna go to Tapu Halu.
whatever it's called, they're in the event. Thank you.
Justin: hollow.
PureLighter: That's not possible.
Justin: ~say it like ~a white Midwesterner.
PureLighter: a Saturn and I'm Hispanic. So [00:31:00] anyways everything, every other day, of course, during day one and day three, drastic powers, 1. 5 sleep experiences, two times, and then bonus experience or bonus sleep points will be 500 though on the night of the full moon, which again, Always, 2, 000 sleep points just on a week, that's just amazing.
~There you go. Again,~
Justin: biscuit.
PureLighter: February ~Wednesday February Wednesday, ~Wednesday, February 12th, that's when we'll get 2. 5 sleep points, or drowsy powers, you say. Bonus sleep points a thousand and then three times experience for a sleep. So if you really need to power up those Pokemons, that is your time to shine.
Justin: Yeah, I'm just glad that it's,
PureLighter: I know.
Justin: happens on
PureLighter: isn't that what we usually get? Like four times the drows the drastic power?
Justin: but you're still locked into like the, whatever Pokemon you're
PureLighter: Yeah.
Justin: encounter at your great tier or
PureLighter: I mean, if you're mad smart enough, you want to get to the higher tiers as soon as [00:32:00] possible. ~But, again,~
Justin: I'll have to look and see which area I'm missing more. ~Well, actually, no, I forgot. ~That's not going to matter. I'm going for the,
PureLighter: yeah.
Justin: event spawns in
PureLighter: everything else is still the same. You get the grinding appearances of ~Clefable, ~Clefable, and Clefa. And they could be more shiny to appear, but you never know. All of the same information from the last few sleep days. And I'm pretty sure they'll change that up pretty soon, but that's just my guess at that point.
But we got brand new Pokemons again!
Justin: Yay! Wait, you didn't want to talk about the important news? The most important news. The most, positively, best news we could possibly get.
PureLighter: The update?
Justin: Do you know what that is?
~Was in the update?~
PureLighter: new dishes?
Justin: Nope. Better than new Pokemon, better than a new skill, [00:33:00] better than new dishes, something that happens with
PureLighter: Sleep? Woo!
Justin: from PokemonSleep. net. We're skipping over Valentine's, who cares? I gotta read this one right here. I heard this earlier I was reading it. I was like, oh my gosh, I gotta drop the phone. Adjustments regarding the issue that caused background music from other apps to stop when booting the app
PureLighter: Okay, yeah, no, that is a pretty important update.
Justin: I was like it. It makes me so angry, like when I'm like,
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: I'm gonna do this, but I'm like listening to something I'm taking a five minute break and then I'm like, no,
PureLighter: Yeah.
Justin: You have to like play the game of you. Go back to it, hit play. But then like you go back to this and then you have to go back to it.
Hit play again. But it is
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: Sometimes you do it a third time and then it goes. ~or I do it~
PureLighter: ~little bubble. Yeah. Yeah, the ~little bubble.
Justin: like, you know, where it like [00:34:00] I, click on it at, with the thing, with the game open, then I can sometimes trick it, man. Okay. That's all I cared about out of the,
PureLighter: All right, well, since we're already here,
Justin: day.
PureLighter: The update, of course, gave us the new recipe, the new alarm, the up tempo alarm. By the way, the new recipe is already live, so you guys can cook it at this point before the Valentine's Day event. There's also adjustments to some Pokemons. Looks like Absol's carry limit has increased.
Yes. And the frequency has shortened slightly. So I guess a little bit faster. Yeah.
Justin: I'm still not using Absol, even though I did get a good one. ~I'm just~
PureLighter: Yeah, that's true.
Justin: heavily
PureLighter: it does give you a good combination of apples and, the cacao if you needed to, but, you know, if you need a little extra here and there. And also if you guys have a little more [00:35:00] intuitive in making your teams a little bit better, now you can actually make up to eight teams in the team slots category.
Justin: this is like an actual
PureLighter: hmm. Yes.
Justin: like, helping mechanic. of like my, my silly, like, wanting my music to play while the game's playing. Because, there's a lot of times I'm having to swap out Pokemon, okay, I need more corn, my. beware isn't doing enough corn. So I have to supplement with the comb fee that gets extra corn But now if I can have eight I could like set up eight teams for the week So you'd be like, all right, here's my extra corn team. Here's my extra oil team. Here's my level up team Here's my sleep at night berry team. Here's my you know, whatever it could be
PureLighter: yeah, no, definitely a good plus to this.
Yeah, it's life.
Justin: is that live? Can I show it right [00:36:00] now? ~Hmm.~
PureLighter: Yeah.
Justin: My,
PureLighter: Yeah, sure.
Justin: Is yours
PureLighter: So yeah currently there is, of course, my one team here. This is the one that I usually just change over all the time. But if you just scroll over to the next one, you more,
and I got
Justin: teams.
PureLighter: Yep.
Justin: And then it
PureLighter: Eight teams in total, which is great because now it's funny though. Each one of the ones has my God reward as the number one there. So it's like,
Justin: Yeah. if it just like. It just chooses your strongest. Actually, that's a good point. Let me look at mine. ~What is, ~what does it choose for mine? All right. So here's my salad
PureLighter: it looks like you choose your strongest Pokemon. ~Yeah,~
Justin: No, that's my Dragonite team. ~There's my~
PureLighter: yeah, so it uses your like strongest Pokemon in your inventory again. Instead of the Pikachu, Pikachu used to be the [00:37:00] strongest.
For beginners.
Justin: Really? Oh, that you
PureLighter: Yes.
Justin: Pikachu is really strong. ~Yes. I think~
PureLighter: I agree.
Justin: the best, just general berry gatherer. surpr
PureLighter: Wait, why?
Justin: surpassed by, yeah, Weavile. I'm hunting this week and can't find a single one. I keep getting
PureLighter: It's in No, yeah,
Justin: and I'm
PureLighter: it isn't. No, you mean Snoozing, right? No. Ah, really? I thought
Justin: need snoozing. Because slumbering, you
PureLighter: Right.
Justin: use the Go
PureLighter: Oh yeah.
Justin: I'm like, more tired than usual, and I don't toss and turn as much. That's how I get snoozing. ~But if I'm dead to~
PureLighter: oh wait, we are, or sled this gen too, right? ~Yeah, that makes sense.~
Justin: Yes. Sneasel is
PureLighter: Yeah. ~Yeah. No, I~
Justin: team
PureLighter: actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I actually have [00:38:00] seen a sled yet.
Justin: just reminded myself, need to talk to my friend about
PureLighter: Mm-hmm.
Justin: team rocket set when it comes out in
PureLighter: Yes. . All right. So ~e ~everything else it says in case we're a Pokemon Church style, when it evolves we have adjusted. the display to make it clear what type it will be after the evolution.
Justin: Oh yeah. ~Cause like some of~
PureLighter: More,
Justin: from Barry to skill
PureLighter: yeah, it's like Tyranitar. goes from like a rock type ~to ~into a dark type or something like that.
Justin: it means that type. ~I was thinking Barry. ~I was thinking like the skill type,
PureLighter: I don't think there's been a Pokemon that's changed this type of skill or from, evolution yet.
Justin: Okay.
PureLighter: Yeah, no, I wouldn't be able to.
Justin: even
PureLighter: But yeah, it's a good adjustment. Everything else just, you know, just like Justin mentioned, the [00:39:00] background.
Justin: And then ~the, ~the cooking pop up menu. The cooking pop up appears when you tap the pot on the home screen. After the adjustment, the pop up will display any current cooking related bonuses. Okay, so I think that means, like, the level of the dish? So, like, is it, you know, sometimes, like, at a certain level,
PureLighter: Maybe. I'm checking to see if there's something.
Justin: they buried the lead saying that the background music, they put that all the way down at the bottom of the
PureLighter: only took a year and a half.
Justin: What were they thinking?
PureLighter: It only took a year and a half. Alright, now we can talk about the new Pokémon, right? It's very dark one.
Justin: Yes. Well, one is a Paldean form. ~The~
PureLighter: and the Technically the same for the last time we had a regional forum.
Justin: let me just say, I know there's some[00:40:00]
PureLighter: Clotsire.
Justin: and
PureLighter: Or Quatsire. Okay, that makes sense. ~Yeah,~
Justin: them. He's all right. I mean, he's great in the game, but as far as like the way it looks, I don't know. But pal day in form, much cuter, much happier, much less
PureLighter: I, yeah, I agree on that. Although the creepy part comes out when the harness comes out. All right, so the arrival of Wooper, the Pandem form, which is a poison type, and Clotsire, another poison type in the game. Beginning on February 10 at 3 p. m. ~So is it, that's the~
Justin: day is February 10th?
PureLighter: so they're in the event of the time of the event, so that's good.
Great appearance, or I guess, well, not great appearance, but it will be appearing on Greengrass Isle and Tapu Holu.
Justin: Yeah. Topalo. Okay. I was, I was
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: I was like, we all said we're going to Topalo for this event,
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: I
PureLighter: [00:41:00] Yes, and
Justin: knew I had to do it.
PureLighter: of course, Sleep tile, sleep tile types, sleep tile. Anyways, Wooper and dosing type.
Justin: Hmm. That's good. Well, because I've been getting dozing so much this week, I'm ready. I'm preparing,
PureLighter: Well,
Justin: for the
PureLighter: I think that's in it actually skewed to another sleep style. If you have too much of the same sleep style for one week or something. So, if you've been getting a lot of dosing this week. ~Dosing?~
Justin: had it four days in a row
PureLighter: So, that's what I'm saying. It's like, usually, ~so, ~if this week you're getting mostly dosing and you can't get what you want, next week you're gonna get something completely different for the rest of the week.
Well, let's talk about the Valentine's Day event because you're gonna be happy about that, okay?
Justin: okay, all
PureLighter: this week long event is a special The time when [00:42:00] Snorlax requests his dishes will be set to desserts and the final string value for dishes will be multiplied by what? 1. 5. To commemorate this week, two brand new dishes will be added which, at the recording of today, we already have them in the game.
It says right here, also Pokémon who collect fancy apples, soothing cacao, and roasting coffee more are more likely to appear. Is there any coffee related Pokémon in Tapu Halu right now?
Justin: Ah,
PureLighter: I'll let you look that up. ~Yeah.~
Justin: see if I can
PureLighter: I mean, I know Mimic is one, but I don't know if it spawns a Tapu Halu.
Anyways, while he looks that up, the event period of course happens on February 10th, which is a Monday, all the way to February 17th. You can go to any of the islands, but just listen to this part of the bonuses and everything. The following effects will trigger in the applicable areas during the event, [00:43:00] throughout every single day.
Unless our new little friends come along.
Justin: coffee at
PureLighter: Paldea, bring the coffee. But hey, we'll see. Anyways, dishes will be set to desserts, just like I mentioned. A few Pokemons of different sleep types will appear during sleep research regardless of your sleep type through the day. So,
pseudo balance, let's go!
Justin: Because, unless like I'm super trying to hunt something down, like Sneasel, for example, that I can't get, rather
PureLighter: Yeah, certain pokémons will look more likely to appear during sleep research. We'll talk about those. You may meet certain shiny pokémons. This is the only game that really prioritizes shiny pokémons in their events, right?
~I just,~
Justin: What do you mean? every Pokemon Go event is a shiny
PureLighter: I guess I'm more thinking of the main series games. Because they don't like saying, oh, shiny pokémon. ~Yeah, I guess. Oh,~
Justin: [00:44:00] like what? Think about like the, Oh, Battle 7
PureLighter: shiny roquasa.
Justin: Battle Against Shiny Mewtwo or whatever. Shiny Rayquaza. Yeah.
PureLighter: no, they also advertise and this is actually hilarious because the Twitter community wrecked the Pokemon company because of this and they even had to take the post down. Yeah, so, the Pokemon company has released Shiny Anamoras through Legend Arceus and completing the decks in Pokemon Home.
They posted a clip of Shiny Anamoras in Pokemon Legendarius and being thrown on a Ultra Ball, which, if you guys don't know, any distribution Pokemon that you usually get becomes on a Cherry Ball, which also translates into a Strange Ball in Legendarius. So How did you get in an ultra [00:45:00] ball Pokemon company?
Justin: Ah, God, I love the comment, it was like,
PureLighter: first one in the entire
Justin: nice
PureLighter: that was ~like I ~like millions of you.
Justin: I was like, wow,
PureLighter: notice.
Justin: up on that so
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: I because of the story,
PureLighter: Yeah
Justin: that I would have recognized like, oh, it's shiny and amorous. ~I~
That's hilarious.
PureLighter: To continue to the sleep news the final strength gains from dishes will multiply 1. 5 or 3 times for extra dishes or 4. 5 for extra dishes on Sundays only. So make sure you power up those new dishes. The greater rate appearance for Pokemon, so Wooper and ~Klaus ~Klausir will actually be appearing more greatly throughout the event.
~Yes,~
Justin: the greater appearance rate. ~You wonder if it's like 30~
PureLighter: probably. But here's the thing, since we have also good sleep day event throughout the entire week of it, You may be able to encounter all sleep tiles of both Wooper and Clocksire [00:46:00] if you're happy.
Gotta plan that out.
Justin: Hmm. ~Hmm.~
PureLighter: And then slightly grayly appearance, Psyduck, Pinsir, Pichu, Ralts, Aron, Abso, Graben, Mimikyu, and Fuegoco. So those are the ones that usually bring you the dishes for desserts. Or the ingredients for the search, let's just say. So, pick and choose, again, if you're looking for the new Pokémon, you go to either Greengrass Isle or Tapu Holo.
Or if you want something specifically, or hunting something specifically, you can go to the other areas and still have great time through the event.
Justin: Hmm. All right. So, okay. So we're picking Topalo it focuses on Wooper,
PureLighter: much. Heh heh heh heh.
Justin: So I can just catch whooper after whooper, after whooper, and we're like, whoop, [00:47:00] there it is. And hopefully get a good one. ~So, ~but let's say it comes out cause you know, we always benefit being in the Western hemisphere. We find out that whoopers aren't that great. Then you're like, well, maybe you don't care. I'll get it eventually. I really need something else. let's say you wanted a good Golduck go to Snowdrop Tundra. There's also Absol there. If you still need Pikachu for some
reason,
PureLighter: would Ralts.
Justin: go to Lapis Lakeside.
PureLighter: I would go to Ralts if it wasn't for Wooper at this point.
Justin: Yeah. Well, I mean, you and I
PureLighter: I want a shiny though.
Justin: Gardevoir we've already invested in, but if you
PureLighter: I want a shiny though.
Justin: if you, what? yeah, I can't remember
PureLighter: Not really.
Justin: any good in this game.
PureLighter: fighting type through the evolution. ~So,~
Justin: Yeah. [00:48:00] Hmm. Okay. Let's see. Oh, GPP. ~Which,~
PureLighter: yeah, grab him, right?
Justin: that's the
PureLighter: That's an interesting one.
Justin: Pichu, which you can always use more Pichu. There's Aaron, that's got coffee at level 30. Grubbin, coffee at, you know, first ingredient. Mimikyu, also coffee.
PureLighter: Yes,
Justin: And then
PureLighter: yeah, ~I, I, ~the graded granted all GPP is still probably one of the best aside from Lapis Lakeside. So if again, it wasn't because of the new Pokemon, my top list will be all GPP just because of the coffee. I need coffee for everything. Lapis Lakeside just for the rolls. And again, anybody who really needs the rolls probably should get a rolls and then so on Tapu Tapu Halu and everything else after that.
But that's pretty much it.
Justin: then, just to round it out, Greengrass Isle has everything. And Cyan Beach has Psyduck, Pinsir, and Foycoco. Pinsir is a [00:49:00] berry
PureLighter: No, it's an ingredient, isn't it?
Let's find out
Justin: I don't know. We'll find out. Oh, you're right. It is ingredients. it's a honey monotype. Honey, I don't know what C is.
PureLighter: You need
Justin: apples. always
PureLighter: it
Justin: Venusaur, so that's why I haven't ever cared about Pinsir. Now I understand. It's Heracross that I like, ~cause he's got, ~that I also used during the skill trigger event. he already has like a relatively high skill trigger rate, like Vaporeon. And mine, the one that I have sitting in my box, has skill level up M. So skill level up M, plus the plus three, when he would trigger, I'd get so many extra ingredients. Because I was, I just had not decided on an Eevee I want to use for Vaporeon yet, so. I'm being very indecisive on that one. [00:50:00] So ~I just let, ~I just let it be, and I used my Heracross instead. That was a minimal investment. Okay.
PureLighter: to be good too, depending on what you really want. But again, Wooper and Clawsire, hopefully they'll be good ingredient Pokemons or whatever ~they, ~they choose to give it to. Also real quick, the two dishes, since they're actually live already, I do have a little bit of information about what you need for both dishes.
Justin: a,
~a, ~
PureLighter: The first one is something that you can simply do just by having, well, actually both of them you can simply do if you actually have the right ingredients.
Justin: D,
PureLighter: the first one is has 14 rusting coffees,
Justin: O,
PureLighter: green grass corns, and 12 muumuu meals. So seems pretty decent. Ah, you got me on that one.
Well, I think the base is like [00:51:00] 16, 000 because that was the very first one that I actually made. Without a level up so ~it ~it could actually top the flannery Without having too much ingredients ~to ~to dump on depending on it. I may be wrong But again, ~it's ~it's just me at that point However, the next dish this one is probably ~the gonna be ~the strongest dessert dish We're gonna have from here on out because it does require a hundred and two ingredients Correct.
Justin: A hundred and two?
PureLighter: And the,
Justin: Oh no,
PureLighter: but here's the list. Here's the list. Hold on. Let's make sure that everybody knows this. You need 30 sooting cacaos. So your blaster already covers that. 26 muumuu milk.
Justin: Alright, yeah, I got I
~invested~
PureLighter: 24 rusting coffees. That is.[00:52:00]
Justin: That's a lot
PureLighter: ~And 22 honey.~
So I, again, I still haven't gotten to the point of actually making this dish just because I don't want to use a good coffee ticket right now or any of my other struggle triggers since I already have a team. So I am preparing for Sunday and for next week. I already have my team set.
Justin: know what? That's right. Okay. You're already on desserts this week. See, I'm on salads. I was like, why haven't I tried this
PureLighter: Yeah, I got lucky with because I went to Tapaholo just because I wanted to raise the island strength at least for another 5%. And I got desserts and I was like, Oh, that's pretty cool. So I'll just do whatever desserts I have for the week and whatever. And then because of the update today, I was able to do at least one of the new desserts today, this morning.
Actually, I did it twice. So I did it twice. ~Breakfast and dinner. Oh, ~breakfast and lunch, ~sorry.~
Justin: Nice. You know, something I would like to see is an event that didn't focus on, like, the best [00:53:00] ingredients. It focused on assortment of dishes that you cook. not just trying to cook the same one every time. Because, like, it's great, you know, like, in the game.
PureLighter: True.
Justin: real
PureLighter: True.
Justin: You don't eat the same thing every time.
PureLighter: I don't know.
Justin: Where's that nutrition? ~really~
PureLighter: If it's an affiladary probably but ~i'm ~i'm excited because i'm always happy to see new ingredients Well new dishes to new ingredients because in the ingredients usually come with a new island regardless But excited to see how they power up and everything I'm sure if I go to reddit right now, somebody has already probably done the new dish.
So Yeah Yeah, so i'll check it out when we can say so
102 ingredients so 40 for the new one for the first one and then 102 ingredients for the other one it does make it the strongest dish [00:54:00] and Mm
Justin: ~you know, ~you know, what's crazy. That means you're not doing a good camp ticket. You need a double skill trigger because the max cooking pot
PureLighter: hmm
Justin: let's say I've changed it. Nope. Still 69. And I, my flurry on with the level seven skill pot up or, know, whatever it's called max up. It gives you 31, which gets you 100, is the exact thing you need the Defiant Dressed
PureLighter: Yep
Justin: Salad. That's, because that takes 100 ingredients.
PureLighter: Oh my god, I just saw a meme on Reddit.
Justin: pull
PureLighter: one of the ingredients in the two new dishes that uses coffee. Then, you know the, the one meme where, you know, you have like the little girl playing with somebody in the pool and then there's another one just drowning and then on the bottom of that, [00:55:00] You have that like the the dead man on the so the two new dishes is of course the one playing with the With the grandma then you have the the the old dishes for dessert Which is the macarons and the the other ones as the one drowning And the one that's underneath underwater as a skeleton is the flannery He's like Yeah, oh
Justin: of an ingredient gatherer to do the fruity flan at the time, the jiggly puffs fruity flan.
PureLighter: i i've been cooking it every time that I don't have a good cappie ticket I usually just cook that anyways But yeah, so that's how it goes also saw a little leak from dynamines and I don't think we should talk about it yet. ~Yeah.~
Justin: Okay. Wait, was there a Farfetch'd leak?
PureLighter: Okay, cool
Justin: Then
PureLighter: All right, so let's not dwell too much more we already run so late on this podcast [00:56:00] anyways, Oh, yeah, that's true.
Justin: ~okay. I can ~edit ~it~
PureLighter: All right. So let's get into our ~deep dive ~deep dive sleep.
Justin: do, ~do~
PureLighter: So since we are on Portion of things.
Justin: from our friends at game eight. co.
PureLighter: now go ahead. I already talked too much
Justin: you want to talk about it? Here is the list of all desserts you can make during the days of the very beginning when you'd sometimes make mixed juice and you just didn't know what you were doing. And then you're like, oh, if I put it in seven milks, I can get a warm moo moo milk. Okay, it's fancy apple juice. I really liked the craft soda pop. Chant apple pie, no, because I wasn't good at apples. And then, let's see, what was after
PureLighter: Same I actually maxed that out before the flannery at that [00:57:00] time.
Justin: I, ~my, ~my lovely kiss smoothie ~was like, that ~was like, it was like right in the sweet spot. Get it? Cause it's dessert right in the sweet spot of like strength and value versus also like ease of getting the ingredients, especially if you use
PureLighter: That's right.
Justin: blastoise. anyways, here are the ingredients. And if you look at this list, kind of, you can look at the base strength on the right and you know,
PureLighter: Yes
Justin: that sounds silly, but that's the way it is. And so you should always be looking to have the best score that you can semi consistently do. The way I do it now is, I don't even, unless I'm trying to get a specific mission done, I don't even worry about cooking three meals a day. I instead worry about cooking two really tough meals per day. So I will focus on [00:58:00] like doing
PureLighter: sounds pretty good
Justin: Spice Cola twice a day. And then let's see, that has apples, gingers, leeks, and coffee. So then I will find something that doesn't use ~that ~that for my other meal of the day.
So like, let's see. Not scones. So actually I might the jiggly pluffs fruity flan it's, well, it's still somewhat the same, but it's still, no, it's actually pretty different. The honey egg and milk are different. Only the apple's the same, but. I'm so good at apples. It's really matter. And then I've been feeling like
I'm
of times because leaks aren't super easy for me.
I swap between Zing Zap Spice
PureLighter: Yeah, I actually haven't really done flower gift too much, but it's still a pretty strengthable dish for me to right now.
Justin: do
PureLighter: Let me check [00:59:00] my
Justin: of
PureLighter: dandy game. I have to reload again to
Justin: You
PureLighter: cooking pot, but you know,
Justin: notebook. we don't know yet, but we're assuming the
PureLighter: oh yeah, 100%.
Justin: ingredients. It's definitely gonna be higher than Zing Zap Spice leveling up the recipe. Also, don't be afraid. To miss a meal, if that means you can get a better meal, and the next time instead of, cause sometimes what you'll do is you'll do the lesser meal, but that'll take ingredients of something that you need for the better meal you
PureLighter: I agree 100 percent on that.
Justin: and I also really try and focus on, you know, something that you're likely to get a, so like on Sundays, for example, when you already have the, the, what is it? The plus 20 percent chance to crit. ~On a, ~on a recipe I'm trying to level up, I will [01:00:00] try and do those the most on that day and use a bunch of extra ingredients, pretty much kind of like max it out and not be afraid to overspend because I'm
PureLighter: That's true. Yeah, I 100 percent agree because it's better than to do something for the lower tiers than having to really worry about Almost as consistently as we have. You probably already have enough Dream Shards to be able to expand your cooking pot
Justin: Like, you know, the hardest one to make at the bottom ~to like, even like, ~even if the number of ingredients weren't the thing.
PureLighter: Actually, I think
Justin: the types of ingredients. ~So like~
PureLighter: correct.
Justin: to get cause there's no monoleek farmer yet. So leeks, that many apples, ginger and coffee. It's not a ton of coffee, but it's still enough that you have to have a coffee farmer.
PureLighter: ~Yeah, ~yeah, I, ~I~
Justin: do a
PureLighter: agree too. Also, I didn't notice, but I can make tea [01:01:00] time corn scorn without having a good camping ticket on or any Pokemon level up since it's only 67 ingredients. I just noticed that.
Justin: Mm hmm. Alright, so then, Flower Gift Macaroons, Soothing Cacao, Fancy Egg, Honey and Milk. ~I would say~
PureLighter: Yes.
Justin: almost as hard as leek. as hard, but it's still pretty darn hard. Because the only mono egg farmers are the ingredient farmers are Delibird I'm pretty sure. You know, these are links,
PureLighter: And how to get.
Justin: So let's look at the eggs. Alright, so, the best Pokemon to get fancy eggs are
PureLighter: Yes,
Justin: and Abomasnow. Which I have both.
PureLighter: it's still pretty consistent that gives me enough eggs for almost all my meals.
Justin: there are other Pokemon that get it. know, [01:02:00] Alteria, but
PureLighter: Mm hmm.
Justin: ingredient based. Actually, my Ampharos, I was using it a lot, does get a decent amount of eggs, with a three
PureLighter: okay.
Justin: type at level 30. So ~it's like a, it's like a plus, ~it's like a bonus when I get to use it. So let's talk about the other hard ingredient, Leeks. The best Pokemon to focus on for Leeks,
PureLighter: Mm hmm. Oh,
Justin: Doug Trio is supposed to be the best. I don't have a good Doug Trio. have a hard time finding Diglett for some reason. And I have a shiny Doug Trio that has leaks, but ~he, ~I don't think he has good, skill set. I have a [01:03:00] ditto that I've invested in that is a double leak at, you know, 30 and 60, but I think he's only like level 39 right now.
And so 60 is a long ways
PureLighter: yeah.
Justin: have the candy or dream shards for it. Cause he gets three at level 30. Doug Trier gets three at level 30. Quackavall only gets two at level 32 leaks, but it's so fast
PureLighter: And also,
Justin: of makes up for it.
PureLighter: ~I, ~I just wanted to add to Ditto, because Ditto is the only other Pokémon that can actually get tails. At level 60. So ~it's kind of like a ~You kind of want ~also the ~the tails but in reality we haven't really seen the ability to use tails in any Meals yet
Justin: Yeah, of given up on tails. I just get tails
PureLighter: skill trigger.
Justin: when I get the,
PureLighter: Yeah, ~it's great pot. ~It's great addition to the pot. I can tell you that much I [01:04:00] mean over 300, base strength. ~good, but~
Justin: I only use it on days where I have like a, tasty chance as saved up like, Oh, it's high enough. I might actually get, extra tasty this
PureLighter: Yeah,
Justin: Or if it's on Sunday,
PureLighter: but yeah, so that's the only ~the only~
Justin: it.
PureLighter: other downside if you want to get more tails for that reason, but In the end of the day ditto and every other Pokemon we've mentioned are good for the leaks anyways, so
Justin: Milk, you should have a good milk farmer at this point, you don't, you know, there's always,
PureLighter: mm hmm
Justin: is the best, the mono farmer, and then after that, you know, there are some other ones, but really, I would focus on, well, who was it?
PureLighter: Correct yeah, you might as well use
Justin: for potatoes,
PureLighter: And increases the pot,[01:05:00]
Justin: milk
PureLighter: time. But yeah, in the end of the day, all of these ingredients definitely should be pretty accessible early on aside from probably the eggs or something like that.
Justin: and if you have a decent corn farmer do tea time corn scones. Don't have to increase the pot size and if you've unlocked up to 67 because you can unlock up to 69 now and Ginger and apples and milk are easy to get So then you just have to focus on corn. And there's multiple corn, mono corn
PureLighter: Yes.
Justin: Lampus Lakeside has been in the game for a long time.
PureLighter: Correct.
Justin: have
PureLighter: Again, it seems to be a little more into the in game because OGPP now you really need to start getting more coffee for a lot of the dishes currently. one ingredient that nobody is using, Well, yeah, that [01:06:00] would be grubbing, right?
Justin: farmers,
PureLighter: Yeah, 100%.
Justin: I
PureLighter: And it's very fast, actually.
Justin: And then Mimikyu also gets
PureLighter: It really depends on what you can get at the time.
Justin: be honest, I'm, ~I'm~
PureLighter: I think so, too. So you may actually have something that's gonna help you a lot in the long run.
Justin: Oh, Luxray also has it at level 60. Braviary has a level 60, you know, that doesn't matter. You don't have the candies for this, unless you're dumping all your rare candy. You've just been saving up
PureLighter: Yeah, no, I agree. ~Yeah,~
Justin: from
PureLighter: would be nice.
Justin: 60.
PureLighter: But yeah, again, we can go over every single ingredient at this point and know what Pokémons will be best at that issue. But ~what you can. ~Focus on what you can get. And don't worry about actually making the dishes. I mean, they're going to be there regardless. Try to ~what you can ~focus on that dish, power up as much as possible.
And then if you [01:07:00] are able to fund for something different, that's going to help you in the long run later, hunt it, get it, start making the dish. So on and so forth ~for the, ~for the remainder of the game. So, but yeah, we'll leave it at that deep dive. Thank you so much, Justin. All right. It's your favorite part of the show.
~All~
Justin: It is. Dream Dex Detective.
PureLighter: and I have to guess, let me look at the.
Justin: need to remember what
PureLighter: It's right there, you can see it.
Justin: Alright, so, my last entry, Blink, is thought to be a very deep sleeper, since its sturdy body gives it a sense of security. Apparently, it sometimes wears itself out, tunneling through the earth, and falls asleep mid dig. that Pokemon?
PureLighter: Well, that sounds like a rock type just digging [01:08:00] through stuff. Kind of seems like it is at that point.
Justin: Hmm, a rock type, you say? I need to pull up the deck so I
PureLighter: Well, I mean, it likes to, you know tunnel through it. And I feel like there's actually one Pokemon that likes doing that just because I thought about a certain anime episode. And then because it says that it's sturdy body. So it's a really strong, like, hard headed Pokemon and all that. So can I give you my guess?
My guess for today's Dream Dex Detective is Onix.
I was gonna say Steelix, but I feel like it could have been either one. Well, it's the first time I actually guessed it a lot quicker.
~Yeah, ~yeah, the last few times we had a couple of hints. [01:09:00] So that's pretty cool. I redeem myself because I know I missed last time. I'm sorry, guys. Justin, your Dream Text Detective entry is It picks fights indiscriminately and grows stronger and more powerful each time it faints.
Thanks for watching! Although quite rare, you may see a sleeping of this Pokemon that looks like it's about to cry. It could be challenging a strong opponent in its dreams. Dun
dun dun, hmm.
Justin: thoughts at one time I was like,
PureLighter: Yeah, true
Justin: Mimikyu, but it's not creepy enough.
Also for some reason, it's like fighting people in its dreams. It could be sad, but it said sad and not angry. So I'm also thinking like Mankey, because you know, Mankey likes to fight. He's not angry like Primeape.[01:10:00]
PureLighter: Well, right. We'll come back for it on the next time trick deck. All right I believe that's everything we got for you guys today. ~Yes.~
Justin: That's it. Email us at Sleep It Off pod@gmail.com. Voice text pictures 7 3 2 8 3 5 8 6 3 9. Make sure to check out Pokemon professor.com and
PureLighter: Let's go to sleep. Justin.
Justin: that's it.
PureLighter: Good night.
Justin: ~You bastard. I'm hitting stop.~
~ I,~
~ I dunno what to say.~
