Episode 11: The Trails Of Tears
This week we take a look at the forced removal of " The Five Civilized Tribes" of the southeast region of the US.
Starting in the early 1800's with the Creek Nation the US government drew up treaties for the native nations, giving the government control of their land, and moving the tribe to new land west of the Mississippi.
But when they refused to leave, the government forced them at gun point. Even for the ones who left on their own free would soon learned the government would not keep their promises and did not care about the nations at all.
