This first episode exploring black excellence during Black History Month looks at one of the bravest and most influencial black women in the history of the US.

Ida B. Wells was born as an enslaved child before the emancipation proclimation just a few years later. She became an educator at a young age to take care of her siblings.

As an adult she was never quite about the inequality and injustices towards black people. And her words put her in danger many times, but she never let the violence silence her.
