May 5th is MMIW Awareness Day and June 6th is MMIM Awareness day but everyday indigenous people go missing and their cases are thrown to the side.

This is what happened with Benita Long when she went missing in March of 2022 from a motel in Washington state. At first police were not concerned due to her past history, and by the time they actually cared to investigate it was far to late.

If you or anyone you knows knows anything about the disappearance of Benita Long call the Yakama Nation Police at 509-865-2933 and refer to case number 22-004079.
