With the recent holiday and the debate over the name; Indigenous People's Day Vs. Columbus Day, I felt it was important to take a good look at the man behind the holiday.

Colombo, as he will be referred too, was not a smart man. Challenges arose from the get go with his miscalculations concerning the distance he needed to travel. He assumed his voyage would be 1/4th of what it would actually be.

But once he had the funds to set out he did so. And as soon as he made landfall in the America's, the horrors began. In his first interaction with the Arawak peoples, he took some captive to force them to show them the source of their gold. And that's just the first of his four voyages across the sea.
