Rethinking Our History
In this new weekly show from the host of The Paranormal Lovers we take a look at some of histories less well known events. Why are they less well known? Because " History is written by the victors."
So we are here to look at the other side of the story, and to give people a starting point to learn about the true history of this country.
Rethinking Our History
Episode 73: The Navajo Long Walks:
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Growing up in North Carolina the Trail of Tears was learned about from an early age. One thing we did not learn about were the long walks the Navajo, or the Dine people, had to endure as well.
Though they are the only nation that has been allowed to return to their lands, albeit less of them, what they endured shaped future generations.
Much like with the Cherokee they faced horrible conditions before they even began their journey. And during the journey they not only had to contend with the conditions, they were also abused by the Army that was escorting them.
