This week we are looking into an industry that hits close to home. A dear friend was traumatized by the troubled teen industry, and one organization in particular was at the middle of it all.
Known as the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools this organization was created to give parents a place to send their kids when they have hit the end of their rope.
But what parents didn't realize, and what many came to regret later, was that the programs they sent their kids to were abusive. From losing access to food, being put in uncomfortable positions for hours, and the physical and sexual abuse, these programs are more like a playground for psychopaths than rehabilitation programs for troubled youth.
