They need to make uh podcast coming in a lot more expensive to get some of these files off the air gather around, as we discussed, a modern manly approach to chivalry. So I hope you're ready, because I know we are. So let's get into it. And we're fast here with another segment of chivalry after hours. We have Leon Oriega, the what the foremost expert on TV shows, right? Leo is that is that your is that your title?

SPEAKER_02

No, still still not an expert on anything. Again, I'm saying like five times, it's okay to dabble with us and be interested.

SPEAKER_00

You don't have to be the expert. Now we're we're gonna try to do we're gonna try to do a podcast on TV shows. We hadn't really touched TV shows, and we tried it once before, and your your dog fell asleep. So we're trying to make it a little bit more interesting. So we could do the old, you know, what's the top ten all-time TV shows? But that'd be too easy, because just look it up. There it is. Whatever.

SPEAKER_02

So what Right, and then we were saying, we were saying how they're usually in consensus with each other, that it's like the same handful of five or six that are all either they take turns being number one, and then they fill out the rest of the list with the same stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Right, right. So we want to do just give me your top five, I'll give you my top five, and then I need five. Well, here's here's a better question before we get to your top five, and then we'll get to five shows you wouldn't think people would know that you watch. And then what I want to know is are you watching any TV shows right now? Like what's on your, you know, like back in the day, what's on your Ti-Vo? What's on your what is it, DBR now? I don't even know what what recording, you know, it's like streaming system, what's on your streaming system?

SPEAKER_02

I guess you'd call it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you call it on your cue, right?

SPEAKER_00

Or as one of my coworkers one day goes, yeah, that's on my quench. I was like, What? Yeah, my quench. You know the Netflix has a quench? I was like, Q demon Q? It's like he's like, oh shit. Is that what it says? So I was lost in my boy. I didn't know what he was saying, dog. All right, so what's on your quench?

SPEAKER_02

New stuff or just in general?

SPEAKER_00

What you're watching now? Like, what are you watching right now?

SPEAKER_02

The show I'm stuck on because you know how we were talking about um last year with Superman. How I told you that the greatest lost lane ever was in that movie.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Rachel Brothman. And I hadn't seen her in anything, so started backtracking to see what she's done, and her famous thing is Marvelous Mrs. Nazel. So I'm season on season three of that right now.

SPEAKER_00

So it's been out pretty damn good. It's been out for a while. Is it over? Is it already been done?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this is an Amazon Prime show. It came out in 2017.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, okay.

SPEAKER_02

It ended in 2022, pretty sure.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Yeah, because I don't I don't watch 2023, so oh, it ended in 2023?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, cool. We were, you know, anytime a famous actor dies and shit like that, you know, um, you know, you're kind of like, oh shit, what are they gonna do about this show? And I was telling, I was telling Letty, I was like, oh, Catherine O'Hara died. Damn, what are they gonna do with shit's creep? She goes, That show's over, it's been over. I was like, oh shit, my bad. Like I don't keep up with that show, but she used to watch it, you know. It's like, how are they gonna you know, write her off? It's like, no, that show's done. I was like, damn. So is that the only show that you like are binging right now? Is the marvelous Mrs. Mazel, I think, is on?

SPEAKER_02

Yep, Mrs. Mazel is that's about it. And then I just have a list of stuff that I just need to power through, find the time to sit out. Because it's just a big time uh, you know, investment, time investment. Because you know, I'll I've been on a movie kick for all of the all of the last year. Really, it started at your house two Christmases ago. Because I didn't have anything to do. Y'all were off work too.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

And I know y'all watched a lot of movies, so we watched like six movies while I was hanging out with y'all. And then that's just and that just that just set me off for the whole year. I mean, I went to the theater like seven, eight times, I haven't done that in a long time. So TV is TV has been on backburn.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

So, and the only reason I discovered Mrs. Mazel is because of Race of Brother Man. The greatest lowest lane of all time.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. All right. Let's let's put a pen in that. We can discuss the best the best lowest lane ever at some other time. Because we already know, we already know your your tendencies.

SPEAKER_02

So right, a prisoner was a moment, but I'm just saying. It's been a it's been what half a year since Superman?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's been a while. But there's there's other stuff. There's Andor I still need to get into.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

There's all these, there's all these HBO shows that I want to watch, like Task and Industry, and there's just too much stuff out there. But right now, it's just that one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So like we're the same way. No, well, we're a little different, I guess. We we have several shows that we watch that my wife and I watch, that Letty and I watch, right? There's stuff that we watch, like where we're having dinner, where it's a not too often like we're not watching Game of Thrones where we're having dinner, right? It's that's too graphic. It's too it's too much going on. Very, you know, kind of toned-down shows like we'll watch, like Ghost. Ghost is a I think it's on Paramount or one of those streaming system streaming services. And it's it's a pretty good show. Yeah, it it you can get in and get out. You don't really have to know what's going on. You can put it on while you're having dinner. You know, it's just one of those things just to keep in the background. It's an okay show. We've watched Paradise, which is a new show. Season two just came out, and that one's pretty good. It talks about the end of the earth and people moving underground and you know, kind of it it's really good. It has Martson, what is it, Cyclops?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it has James Marson in it, it has uh Sterling K. Brown. I mean, there's just a bunch of you know, a bunch of other people I I've never seen before, but those two I was like, okay, and it's a pretty good show. Of course, recently I did I I have started watching the Knights of the Seven Kingdom, which is really slow. I mean, I think episode five here last week got the most views because it it was finding a little bit of action, right? There's like a tournament scene with with knights and stuff like that. But it's really it's it's a super slow burn. Watch the Landman show, I watched you know, just stuff like that. So, you know, uh when when the fall starts, right, you you get certain shows, then they end, and then in the spring you get other shows that come up. But there's nothing really that I'm like, man, I gotta I gotta sit down and watch that, other than maybe Knights of the Seven Kingdom, even though it's it's a brand new show, you know, along the Game of Thrones thing.

SPEAKER_02

But but we have Yes, that that one is uh I still have HBO, like cable HBO, and that show is just on all the time. Yeah. I'm talking like all day. It's like, well, all right, man, show a movie or something. My question was why was it why was the show so short? It was only six episodes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's I I assume that's it. I don't know. Like it the show's really different, and and I don't know, maybe because the the the House Targaryen is coming back up. I think it's starting in April or or something like that, and that one I'm in, you know. But yeah, it's Oh, House of the Dragon? Yeah. Yeah, House of the Dragon. So that one's coming up. So I don't know if they wanted to cut it short or but uh yeah, I have no idea why it's and then they try to kind of pivot away from Game of Thrones. There's they they try to add a little bit of you know, kind of take you away from it. You know how Game of Thrones was really dramatic with the music when it kicks in, you know? This one they kind of made fun of it, not really make fun of it, but just kind of literally crapped on it, you know. If you saw the first the first episode.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, no, I'm not what I'm not watching the show, but I know we're in the past or something, right? We're in the past, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's it's between House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. It's like 90 years after House of the Dragon, something like that. But it's that that's the other thing. It's like they introduce so many characters that you almost need, like, like I need a flowchart. Like, how is this dude important? You know, where is this? How is he related to Daenerys Targaryen? You know, how's she you know what I'm saying? It's just like a lot of characters, yeah. So you almost have to do a little bit of research. But I mean, those are the shows that you know, am I gonna go back and rewatch, you know, House of the Dragon? I don't know. I mean, I haven't, and it's been like two or three seasons already. You know, then which gets us to you know, which are the greatest shows of all time. Like I I'll I'll give you my, or you give me your top five if if you have that ready. If not, I can give you mine. They're pretty easy. I mean, it's basically a consensus, right? But what do you have as your top five?

SPEAKER_02

See, I went with a little bit of everything up with me, it's straight up rewatchability. And what we were talking about last time was like you know, impact and just omnipresence. These shows are big at some at one point or another. But they're you know, for me, these are the shows that I watch all the time. Number five.

SPEAKER_00

Oh shit, we're we're going in order, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Number five is New Girl.

SPEAKER_00

New girl, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Zoe D. Chanel.

SPEAKER_00

What wait are we are we at the these are your top five all time, not your these are the these are the shows that I watch that I don't care if they ever make a list.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Alright, go ahead.

SPEAKER_02

These are my greatest, these are my greatest shows.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Like New Girl. Obviously, Zoe Damon Wayans Jr. is on it for the first season. Actually, the first episode, and then he comes back later. Just hilarious. Funniest freaking show that I've seen in the last the funniest news show that I was watching week to week two. I don't know if you ever watched that. I don't know. It was a Fox show.

SPEAKER_00

I've never seen it. Like I know about it just because the shop it shows up, you know, but but I've never seen a single show. I've just seen the I guess the uh trailers are for it or whatever. But yeah, I'm not familiar at all with that show.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's number five.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

You want to go your number five or you want me to keep going?

SPEAKER_00

No, keep going. Keep going.

SPEAKER_02

All right. I was, you know, I've been going back and forth. I think the last time I said in the Breaking Bad universe, all of that is only there's better called Saw, there's Breaking Bad, and then there's El Camino, the the movie that was on Netflix. Right. And I just appreciate that it's that that story, and I don't think we've I don't think we're going back to that universe at all. I just appreciate how it's one title story, two shows, one movie, and we're done. You're talking about Game of Thrones, it's completely, you know, the opposite of and walking dead and all these shows that have all these spin-offs and prequels and sequels and all kinds of craziness. So I just appreciate breaking bad, keeping it simple, sort of like fun. You know, we got minus and we got fun and we're done. I don't know which one I watch more often. It's probably breaking bad, but I think better of calls all is a better show. So I'm gonna say that four.

SPEAKER_00

That's four, okay.

SPEAKER_02

And that one is another one that I caught up to current to watch it week to week. It was that good. And yeah, I was skeptical because I didn't really like that first season too much.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

There's just it's just kind of a slow bird. And Breaking Bad was like that too. The first season of Breaking Bad isn't the greatest. I mean, you got your setup, you know, you know what you know what we're doing, you got the permits, you got everything, and then it just gets better from there. And better calls all is the thing. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna have to go better call fall. Okay, that's and then breaking bad three? No, no, no. I'll say those two shows I I just wrestling in my own head, which one's better than the other to be at four, and I'm just gonna go better call fall.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Alright, better call fall at four.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, I don't know if you finished it, but it's it's a wild ride. Number three. Alright. So I gotta stay calm. I got like my crime drama, you know?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because I could have picked I could have, you know, gone pivoted sons of the one we were talking about before. It's a little more fantastic fantastical, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

So I've never really liked the uh work, work, what do they call it, workplace comedy?

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I know during I know dur during COVID, you know, everyone was watching The Office, so I was like, okay, I'll give the office a try. And it's okay, right? Yeah, I still haven't finished it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what season Yeah, I don't think I ever like binge watched it. I've I've seen a couple of episodes. I saw them out of order, you know. I never started on episode one, and you know, like I do with most shows for some reason. That one I just you know, do you jump in, jump out, and that's it. Like I know my kids, Liana and Joaquins, they were like big time office fans for some reason. Like we had mentioned before. It's like wow, I didn't know I didn't even know it it had made a comeback. And so the only reason I I I started noticing they were watching us because they started using all the jargon, right? Like what is it, beats, bears, and battlestar galactica. They just start, you know, you're like, okay, y'all are watching the office. Uh I gotta put up with this bullshit for a while. You know, so so they started using all that dumb shit, and I was like, ah, y'all are watching that. And so I'd watch, you know, one with them. I know Liana would like kind of just watch on her laptop or whatever. But uh it was never a show that I was like, I gotta watch that show. Uh it just, you know, it it was it was funny, yeah. But you know, it's like one of those things like I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was a big deal during COVID, so I you know, I got as far as I could and it's just I didn't finish it, so I don't know how it ends, but I don't you know, and then there's community not community, yeah. Community, there's modern family, which I think you're a fan, big fan of that one.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, modern family is great.

SPEAKER_02

Um or not. Modern family.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But of those shows. I was getting shit for this, but of those shows, Arsenal, I think, is just better in the office. Funnier, better character. I mean, you're talking about Aubrey Plaza. Come on. Amy Amy Polar, Rashida Jones, Aziz, Nick Opperman, Star Lord.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Which I was calling, which I was calling Star Lord when the girls at work introduced me to the show, and I'm like, oh, it's Star Lord. They're like, show some respect, that's pretty good. Chris Pratt, that's his character in the show. Yeah. So Park Story. Better in the office, I don't care. At me, fight me, it's better.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And that's one that I have you know sat through and watched. It's another one where you can pick up any uh episode. Sometimes they'll show them on Comedy Central just on a loop early on Sundays, or I forget. Some days they're just on. And I can always jump in on those. And the office is on all the time on like the e channel, and I forget which other one.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

But I I take give me parks and record. So that's three. Number two is an easy one. It's Seinfeld.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So but it doesn't matter what season does it.

SPEAKER_00

But but parks and rec doesn't make your list?

SPEAKER_02

That's number three.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, Parks and Rec is number three. Okay, so parts so breaking back doesn't make nope. Okay, gotcha.

SPEAKER_02

I inserted better calls or breaking back. And then number three, I thought I guess I went off on a tangent about workplace comedies of mine would be parks and rec. I tried to spread it out on my on my list. One of everything because these are the rewatchable shows for me.

SPEAKER_00

I gotcha.

SPEAKER_02

And then two with Seinfeld.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Seinfeld. Doesn't matter. As a matter of fact, I was watching it last night before I fell asleep. It just co it just comes on blocks at night, you know, like I don't know which channel, TV land or something, from like 10 to 3 in the morning. And I'll just let it play.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, on Netflix. I have it on DVD. I've seen every episode. I know every episode. You know, I use Seinfeld quotes in everyday life. I remember watching it like week to week in high school. I remember the last episode that people hated, but it's Seinfeld. How do you end that show? Yeah. You know, there's it's they always said, like, no hugs, no lessons. They're just four awful people that they don't use shit or anything. So why would you try to wrap it up in some kind of nipo? Or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no number two is Seinfeld. That that show is like I do remember watching it. It was a big thing like in the 90s, right? I mean, it felt like that's everybody was watching it, and so you you know, we watched it. It's when you go back and watch it, and I and I've you know, YouTube has like condensed versions of the show, right? You can really knock it out in like 20 minutes because they cut everything out and just give you kind of the meat of the show, and so I'll watch them every once in a while, and you forget how well laid out the show is. Like, you know, I know they they said they didn't want to wrap it up, but they do wrap up each individual show in a nice little bowl at the end, you know. It's like everything calls back to itself. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I said, no, the show changed over time, right? Because at first it was like Jared is like doing his stand-up, and it's like, oh, this is what happened, you know, in my life. Right in the show that it's right. Like this this is how where all those jokes came from. So it was kind of the first couple of seasons Seinfeld didn't really it's still funny, right? I'll still obviously like the show starts to finish up is just a masterpiece. But it just got kept getting funnier as we went along. Like it just And then it's when you watch it now, it's really quaint and of its time, right? There's all these landlines and yeah, you know, how what everyone says like how many episodes of Simon Code are ruined if they have cell phones, right? Like Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The the the one that the one that always makes me laugh, man, is that the cigar store Indian episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like that shit would not fly now. It would not fly. The one where um Elaine dates one of Seinfeld's friends, you know, and he goes, he took it out. He took it out. Like that would that wouldn't fly now, you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_02

It just it's just or it's Elaine's Elaine's dating the dude. Yeah. Elaine's dating the dude, and she's not sure if she thinks he's black, but she's black.

SPEAKER_00

It's just uh the one where George just does the opposite of what his instincts tell him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Just goes talk to that girl at that diner. And the other thing that I loved about shows like that, and and one on one one on my list, I guess it didn't make a list, but I kind of like shows that have a place that they go, right? Seinfeld, they went to that diner. Cheers was at that bar. How I met your mother, they went to that same bar every time. Like that bar is where they hung out. And I kind of like that, you know, aside from the the apartment and all this and that, they went to a place where it it was almost like a you know, a fifth, sixth character in the show is the actual bar because they were always there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Then friends had the coffee shop. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_00

So I I don't know. I don't know why they I don't know if they have that still. I guess they still do, but it's it's hard to catch that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So even though you border proof science was not funny, the stand up comedy episode number two on the left.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know what, like uh w what I said. If I have to repeat myself, I said I remember watching his stand-up. Like the the stand, I think he put up a stand-up like in the middle in the mid-90s. And I watched it and I just didn't remember. Like I remember the show more, which I guess is a stand-up. But his stand-up was like to what I said is it wasn't memorable, you know, for me. Like, like I remember some of the other stand-ups like vividly. Like I can quote it. I can, you know, if when I watch it, it's like, yeah, I remember this joke. If I if you tell me that a stand-up was each one of those episodes, then okay, yeah. I remember the you know, like like when he I remember the episodes of the show, but I don't know if like I you know I didn't I didn't watch Seinfeld as a stand-up, you know.

SPEAKER_02

After the show ended, he kind of went back out and doing stand-up. So, you know, he released a DVD, it was called, I'm telling you for the last time. Yeah. It's all the it's all the jokes from the show.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_02

You know, basically like he's just he's just running through like the greatest hits you know. What's the deal with that?

SPEAKER_00

So okay, so we're at Seinfeld at two, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yep, Seinfeld two, and then you already know, number one. Greatest TV drama of all time.

SPEAKER_03

Oh shit. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Also, perfect ending. A lot of these shows don't know how to fix the landing. Like some of your favorite shows didn't stick the landing.

SPEAKER_00

I agree.

SPEAKER_02

You know. But Mad Men maybe the best ending of any show everything. Just gonna say that. A lot of people haven't seen it because you haven't seen it, but it's a perfect ending. I think it's the greatest TV drama everything. And there's another one that I was watching week three, you know, this is in the A Day of AMC, right? Like prestige television was just coming to be, you know, this is in the aftermath of like your you know, Sopranos and all that good stuff.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

And then AMC really starts Mad Men, Rick and Bad, Walking Dead, they kind of take over the TV space of Mad Men. Don Draper, right? Rick anti-hero. This was the era of anti-hero too, like you know, Walter White.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

What's his what's his name on Walking Dead? Rick.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Rick.

SPEAKER_02

Don Draper. Anti-hero, they're not really they're kind of deplorable. He's kind of a deplorable person, but you're still root for him. I mean, you could say the Tony Soprano too, same thing, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, but but was Rick the anti-hero or was it was it the punisher? Wasn't it Shane? Wasn't Shane the anti-hill the anti-hero? And Rick was the actual actual hero.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no. I mean, it just depends. If the show goes on, how they characterize Rick as what he has to do to uh Walking Dead is a whole other animal and it shows up. You know, it was good for like four or five seasons, and then it just flew off the rails.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I agree. Like, I think I think I stopped watching it about probably season four, maybe. I don't think I got to season five, but I want to say the that first episode, man, that grabs you, and you're like, I want to know more. I wanna I wanna be in this universe, I want to know what's going on, I want to know what I would do, you know, I want to consider all those aspects of if this were to happen to me, you know, what would I do? And so I I man, I was all about that show. And then I think season three, we start going like, man, what's going on? And four, and then I think we stopped at four.

SPEAKER_02

I I stuck it out as long as until because they kept teasing stuff that is gonna be really cool, right? Because, you know, obviously these famously these were comic books and yeah. So I stuck around like, oh, this is coming. Okay, I want to see that. I want to see how they treat this or how they handle the the source material here. I'm not crazy about like I don't lose my mind over this happened in the book or this happened in the comic book. You would think I'd be more of a you know a gatekeeper. Um Yeah. Maybe. But I'm I'm okay with it. Like, do do your own thing because a lot of things that happen in in comics and you know it's not feasible. You're you can't make that happen on TV. You know, sometimes it's too sometimes it's too arrated or gruesome in the comics, you know, like comic book movies sometimes can veer off, and I'm okay with it. I'm not following. Yeah, just don't do anything stupid. So right. So madman, so madman, number one then now forever. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. Damn, do I have to go backwards? You're trying to you're trying to Tarantino this shit, okay. We'll we'll we'll well I don't know. I'm gonna just tell you my my number one overall show, and it's been my number one overall show forever. But what kind of screwed me up is is your intro to your top five and your component of being of it being rewatchable kind of screwed up my top five, right? Because I guess you have to put that into consideration. You have to you have to mix that in in your ingredients, right? Is it rewatchable? So when I was when I had my list, I had my list when we started, you know, recording, but you said that I was like, oh shit, you know, you're right. So then I started reordering my list on if have I rewatched it, you know. And yeah, you know what I'm saying? So my number one forever was Sopranos, right? It's I really enjoyed that show. It was back in the day where freaking shows were what is it, like 20 episodes, I think, every season. So I mean, when they got into something, they got into it, you know. You don't get those kind of shows anymore. But that's always been my top, my top show. So whenever they, you know, whenever people started watching Breaking Bad and saying, oh, that's you know, that's the best show ever, I was like, man, I don't know about that. So then I went and watched it. And you know, I finished watching it, it's a good show, but it's not better than Sopranos, in my opinion. So, and I have rewatched Sopranos, you know, because a friend of my coworker, I was telling him about Sopranos, and of course he's younger than I am, right? It's probably like 10, 12 years older, uh, younger than I am. And it it it's also when you get into watching shows, it's also like a generational thing, right? Sopranos is an old show, it's like 26 years old or whatever when it started, right? It was a long time ago, it was like 99, I think. So he's like, you know what, I'm gonna watch it. I was like, cool. I was like, you know what? I'll rewatch it with you, you know what I'm saying? That way we we can talk about it. And so I re-watched it. So I and I rewatched it maybe a couple of times, you know. That that was probably like the third time that I re-watched it in its entirety. So that show does have that. Game of Thrones. Because I watched it, I pretty much binge watched it before.

SPEAKER_02

Uh wait, these are in these are in no order?

SPEAKER_00

These are in no order. Number one is Sopranos Forever. And then these other ones, they're in they're in no order. Um because you screwed up my list, but saying have you rewatched it? Is it rewatchable? I kind of it kind of screwed up my list. But Game of Thrones, I think it it it's between two and three, right? Game of Thrones is just a it's just a good show. And Entourage has to be up there because I've rewatched Entourage at least at least three times in its entirety. And it's a good show. It's probably a show that won't fly now. It wouldn't fly if it came out today, you know. But in the time, it was a good show. Like it's rewatchable.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it yeah, I mean, it took forever for us to get a movie, and the movie was a lot of people are like, it's just a long episode of Entours. I'm like, that sounds awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And I thought that it was funny that they double back, right? You know, they well, if if nobody's watched it, can do we do we spoil Entourage for people? Do we do that?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, who who doesn't have HBO Max and just throw it on?

SPEAKER_00

In this day and age. All right. Well, I thought it was funny whenever they they ended that season, right, with with Vincent Chase getting married, and in the first scene and then in the movie, it's like, hey, we're back to being single. Let's get the band back together. Yeah. I was like, what the hell? That's what makes no sense.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I mean, the whole the whole show ends, right? Like, he's getting married, he and Sloane are getting married, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Turtle is a mil turtle's a millionaire, Ari has given up the business and he's in Italy or whatever. So we get that stinger once the show is done, where it's like Ari gets the phone call and come back and be God or whatever he says, right? So they did always leave that thread out there just I don't know if they the plan was always to make a movie or what they were what the but then they just undo all the stuff from the ending, right?

SPEAKER_00

And like the first 15 minutes is like, what the hell?

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. The movie starts with them saying, you know, I'm single and Ari is already on his way back, and Mrs. Ari is just okay with it.

SPEAKER_00

Let's go back to hell. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like what the So again, it's again it's me. I'm telling you, some of these shows can't stick to landing during the story. And I think Entourage. I I'll I wasn't I didn't hate the ending, but it's like, okay, we're teasing something. So it doesn't feel like the end, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

And we just ruined ruined entourage for everybody. That's okay.

SPEAKER_00

That's okay. There's you'll get over it. So I mean, i if I if you were to ask me yesterday, you know, is is Entourage in your top five, I would have said no. But when you when when you're like then then I started, I was trying to take my shows and go, okay, which ones have I rewatched? And maybe those are my top five. You know what I'm saying? Maybe I'm just hanging to these other shows because they're better. But maybe these are the ones I enjoy more because I've rewatched them over and over and over. And I'm like, well shit. You know, so that kind of screwed up my list. So So Primal's definitely right. Entourage, I've rewatched that. Game of Thrones, those three. Yeah. The wire was always in my top five, but I've really only seen it once. So it's gonna sneak out of my top five, right? I it's just not gonna, you know, Vikings is a great show, and I enjoyed it, but I'm I haven't rewatched it, and I actually I'm shit. I I made it to like season, I think it's like five or something. So I'm you know, because at the time I had to bounce back and forth between I want to say it was like Amazon Prime and then you know, Peacock. I don't know where, you know, I had to go, you know, Netflix had a couple of seasons, and then I had to jump to another streaming service, and then after a while, you know, I caught up, and then so I'm in like season five or something like that. But I enjoyed that show. Have I rewatched it? No. So so it's gonna slide out of my top five for the purposes of this show. A show that I will that I'll re-watch is How I Met Your Mother. I've seen that show probably two or three times, and that's a show that I can just go, you know, do like the the price is right wheel, you know what I'm saying? Like and flip through a show and then go, I'm I'm gonna watch the show and then watch it and I enjoyed it. And it's it I mean to me, I can re-watch that right now. And then of course, my huh?

SPEAKER_02

I said how much your mother's another one with a not only bad ending, but just not a great ending.

SPEAKER_00

It was not a great ending. Like I I yeah, it's man, I I I don't know why they can't like you're saying, you know, like you said, they can't stick the landing. And speaking of Suns, right? I've rewatched Sons five, six, seven times. You know, I'll if I'm working in the garage, you know, I'll I'll put it on.

SPEAKER_02

Just playing in your garage all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Like like I'll I'll be working out and I'll put it on. Uh, you know, I'll be, you know, working on the bike. It's on. I'll be like, you know, doing I used to do a bunch of like uh wooden you know, like a bookcase that was uh made of wood, and I would be out there sawing and you know, and and using the the reciprocal saw and all this stuff, you know, standing shit, and you know, you just sit in the garage and build stuff, right? We did we've done so much, and then you just sometimes you need noise. If there's no sports or something, you know, if there's nothing that yeah, if it's a random Friday night where there's no NBA or baseball or something, then I just throw on whatever. And but I I've rewatched that show so many times. Like I, you know, I have my favorite episodes that I'll run through, but you know, if we're talking about the thing, have you re-watched it?

SPEAKER_02

Rewatchable, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It it is probably my number one.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. The thing about sons, like you got me on that show. I mean, obviously that's right up your alley, just motorcycle.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Primarily, right? Like, and you just finished it to me like motorcycle club, it's Hamlet. It's Hamlet on motorcycles. I'm like, okay, well, yeah, that sounds a little crazy, but I guess you know, I you could see the the you know the DNA of Hamlet in the story. And then also it just made you think, Eddie, think of just the Brotherhood of the Fraternity. Right. Because they, you know, obviously I mean, you just you basically stole the gavel for this for show. I mean, that's where that came from.

SPEAKER_00

No, so we've always had gavels at all our meetings. Robert's rule. Robert's rules of order.

SPEAKER_02

And then the other thing with sons is the freaking merchandise. Like, I have like five sun shirts in the closet. Like, I'm sure you have more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think Getty by used to buy them for me whenever she saw them. Yeah, I wear them, I wear them to work out, I wear them to, you know, to sleep, or you know, like I rarely wear them out just because I was like, man, I don't want no clown coming up to me. You're gonna show I mean shut up. Like, I didn't wear this shit for you to come up to me.

SPEAKER_02

So, you know, I got invested in that one, and then I told, you know, I would tell people, like, everything's run, you know, and then the main the thing is always like watch the pilot. If you don't like the pilot, then I can help you. But it's a really good pilot will get you, you know, sucked into the show.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um a lot of these shows, like break breaking bad has a great pilot, Mad Men has a great pilot that you said you didn't like, but whatever. Yeah. Um Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I didn't like Game of Thrones pilot either, but it ended up being really good after I rewatched it, you know. So I've only given it to the And then I don't know if you remember the what Yeah, you talk about Game of Thrones too. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if you remember the like the Wild Wild West days of the Netflix, where everything was on Netflix, right? But right before everyone decided, like, hey, we have our own IP, let's make our own freaking streaming service, right? Why are we giving everything to Netflix? So I remember catching up on Netflix on fun.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And then the season that the season that was current, well, I think was season four, and then I was getting the the DVDs because it wasn't on Netflix, yeah. I was getting them from like Hastings to catch up to what was happening current. And then one time one time Brother Philos came to stay with when I was living with MTO or he came to hang out for like a week or two. I forget what was going on. And we were watching Sons, we were caught up to current. He's like, What is this? What's this bullshit you're watching? Like, who tells you who tells you that you're watching Dom Shoot? Like we're like Sons of Anarchy, man. Like it's really good. First three seasons, first three seasons are on Netflix. The fourth season, I don't know how we um I don't know if we owned it or something. So he watches the new episode with us. I don't know when did the sons come on? Wednesdays.

SPEAKER_00

I think it was Thursday. Was it Thursday?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I wanna see. A week to the Thursday, new show, and Celos had caught up to current. Like he watched all four seasons in a week. Like this brother was not sleeping, man. He was like locked in. Well, it's I mean that's how that show was.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like I I think the well, you know, and we've talked about this before. I I love shows, movies, shows that show motorcycles, right? And I did a list on Facebook a long time ago. Movies that showcase motorcycles, but it's not about motorcycles, right? Like, you know, another 48 hours, right? The two bad guys are on motorcycles. And it's not about motorcycles, it's about chasing bad guys, but the fact that they were on motorcycles, I thought that was cool. La Bamba has a motorcycle, like has you know, that type of stuff. So when I I saw the pilot, and I want to say Suns probably came out when did Suns come out? I don't remember. 2008? Something like that. I'm trying to look it up. But anyway, you know, and I didn't really catch it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh 0814.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so it came out in 08. I didn't really catch it till like probably season two. And it was because and I didn't really hear a lot of buzz about it, you know, and then when season two started coming around and I started seeing the the kind of the trailers for it, I was like, all right, okay, you know, it's got motorcycles, it's got, you know, all right, uh, you already got me, you know, I'm already in. But I saw the pilot, and I was like, oh yeah, oh I'm in. You know what I'm saying? Like the brotherhood aspect about it, the politics, when you have an organization like that, in you know, some of my favorite episodes is when when they patch brothers in, which reminds me of, you know, the fraternity and and pledge classes, and when they cross over, it's just it's something that I mean if you experienced it, it's great, and you're never gonna get that again, right? I mean, I guess I can go to where brothers get you know, cross over, but it's not gonna be the same because I don't know them, you know what I'm saying? I didn't know what they went through. I don't know, you know, what kind of program they ran. I don't know. It's just uh you just know they crossed over. But when you're active and when you're it it's just that much better.

SPEAKER_02

Also, some of the like politicking behind the scenes, you know, when you were an undergrad and on an exec board, and you know, how like are you gonna vote a certain way? And if you didn't vote the way I wanted you to, it's like, what the hell, bro? Right. You know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I uh man, I didn't I didn't get a position the second time I ran for it, and I was pretty freaking I was pretty pissed about it because I was gung-ho. I was like, man, let's do it. And then, you know, when the brotherhood is like, nah, you're like, goddamn. And that has a lot of that in the first couple of seasons. And then of course it it goes to shit and everything, you know, goes haywire, but it's a show that I will re-watch. I've rewatched probably five times. And, you know, like I said, my my co-org gets pissed off at me because he pitched uh Atlanta. He goes, Man, you gotta watch Atlanta. And I said, Well, I've seen that one clip where they're in jail and and that one guy's talking to what looks like a girl, right? And then they're like, Man, that's a man. And he goes, Yeah, that's Atlanta. And I was like, Well, what episode? He's like, I think that's the first episode or second episode. And I was like, Man, I'm just afraid that's the funniest that show's ever gonna be. And it's downhill from there, so I haven't watched it. He's like, he's like, Man, I'm just I'm gonna start giving you shows because you you you rather watch Bullshit. You rather re-watch about Bullshit than watch a new show. And I was like, Well, you know, I just I have to be in the mood to watch that. So but I I will try new shows. Like I've tried Shogun, I thought was a good show. I just started watching it last year, and I I think I made it through the first season, and you know, and then you gotta put it aside and watch something else because your shows come up. But I mean, I don't I'm not in the habit of not watching shows. I'll try them. But it's also has to they have to they have to grab you from that first episode. Like you know what I'm saying? If you if you're not in, you know, somebody's gotta tell you, like, hey, just power through these first two episodes, it's gonna get better, you know? Sometimes it doesn't.

SPEAKER_02

You didn't get far enough, you didn't get far enough into season one of of Mad Men, but share we share a character. It's it's Tara. Oh yeah. Oh, that's right. That's right. She's she She's a semi big deal and she comes back later in the show. But you know, Mad Men is 07. So you know, she goes from Mad Men right into the right into Suns. So I know if that if she had a larger role in Mad Men and she's like, sorry, I'm gonna do Suns, because that she was that's a basically a starring role, right? Because she was in so that's it's just it's just cool to see see her tara, you know, like in the 60s, and then and then see the you know, once a black crystal light, always a black crystal light, son.

SPEAKER_00

Right, and my man gets shot and shit. So if if I were to rank them by like, have I rewatched it, then Sons is probably up there. Like I said, How I Met Your Mother, I'll rewatch that. Other shows that I've rewatched is like Modern Family is a it's just a good show to watch, especially if you have kids and your family, you know. It's a good show you watch during dinner. We we eat dinner like in the in the kind of uh not the dinner table, but we have a little it's called the keeping rooms right next to the kitchen, and then we'll just turn on TV on. And how much your mother's just one of those shows that you can watch when your kids are like five, six, seven. You know what I'm saying? It's like you you're not gonna sit there and watch sons, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. You know, um for my my Seinfeld slot, like the only thing that could I could have even compete with that is friends. But friends is not as iconic to me as Seinfeld. I've seen every episode of Friends. I remember I was joking on the other conversation we had that you don't like friends, and I was like, Cousin Edith, spit out her Dr. Pepper. She heard you say you don't like friends. Who? Um but Edith spit out her Dr.

unknown

Pepper.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? I just I never got into Friends. Everybody in in in college was watching it. I just I never I never saw it. I I've never, you know, it's just you know, it's like one of those things is like it it's the timing was off.

SPEAKER_02

Man, the other thing about friends is they had all these crazy cliffhangers, like if you're watching it year to year and this was back with the musty TV, right? Like I remember you know I remember a bunch of videotaped VHS tapes like the whole night. Because I don't know if they used to go out for the night or something, and he'd leave his tape, and then it was Seinfeld Friends, Will and Grace, and whatever else. But they had all these, you know, Ross says the wrong name at the altar. Joey, Rachel thinks Joey's proposing to her and then it ends. Or Rachel is pregnant pregnant and no like no one knows and it ends. Like, yeah, I think it's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, man. Sons had them too. It's like they stole my son.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was season three, right?

SPEAKER_00

I think it was season two.

SPEAKER_02

So the worst or the worst season of the show is when they're in Ireland. Is that three?

SPEAKER_00

That's that's season three, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, no, Sons was always always had that explosive premiere and just Earth Shattering finale, and just the journey to get between those two things every season. And you know, it always always works. I mean, they have a good formula.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I I think I don't know if they just did away with shit like that, but I know like when you're watching the show, and especially if you're watching it live, which doesn't happen a lot now because everything's just like you know, they they put the whole season out. They they I don't know if a sh I I can't think of a show that just left you hanging. And then now it's it's you know, you have Apple, you have the stream interpreters, they just released every episode, you know what I'm saying? Like, and then there's the there's that meme that says, you know, you know, let's watch this movie. And it's like, man, that's just two hours. And then like, what if what if I break it up into what if I break it up to 40 minutes? You'll sit there like 10 hours just watching shit, just binge watching the show, which I've done. Yeah, I've done all weekend, you know.

SPEAKER_02

I think uh I think Netflix was kind of the was Netflix the the forerunner with that kind of thing? Because I remember they would drop just a whole season and it would be a like a long season. Like Daredevil was what 18 episodes or something? Like an hour, and an hour? Like crap, I would stay up because it would drop at like midnight or one. I would stay up as long as I could, you know. But it's crazy because people would damage the whole freaking thing and already be talking about it the next day, like, man, how did you how's it even possible? It's like 18 hours.

SPEAKER_00

And they're sitting there like like Tom and Jerry and shit with toothpicks on their eyes and shit on their eyelids and shit. Yeah, they're all red and shit.

SPEAKER_02

Like you even retain any kind of information.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I hate is like you're watching, you're watching some shit and then you fall asleep, but the fucking thing keeps going and shit, and you go back and you're episode nine and shit, and you're like, god damn it, I fell asleep at four. So now you gotta go back. Where did I leave off? Do I need to rewatch this episode?

SPEAKER_02

And then once you know, Netflix dropped that formula, and then during COVID, I feel like COVID was really like Oh yeah. I think Disney Plus was good, and then you know, everything was ex and then somebody walked it back. I forget who walked it back and started doing weekly drops again.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and that's so more than me. Like, yeah, HBO does it with like it's every week. Like all the all the like the Yellowstone, they were all per week, you know, that was once one episode a week. You know, and then you you do the trick of, well, I'll just wait till the whole the whole season's done, and then I'll just binge watch all of it. But then you have people just talking talking about it on Facebook or Twitter or whatever, and you're like, man, they didn't ruin the shit for me. Now I can't even watch it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Social media and all that kind of Reddit, all this stuff. It's just you gotta really stay locked in and relative news. Because I remember Yeah, seriously. Sons of Anarchy was people were bad with Sons and Game of Thrones, if I'm not mistaken. We have to just avoid everything.

SPEAKER_00

Like, come on, man. Like the show just I mean, the the the episode just aired like 20 minutes ago.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're doing it a cowboys game. You're not gonna give me the play by play, man.

SPEAKER_00

They're like status updates and shit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. R.I.P. so-and-so, like, what the hell? Jesus.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I for our list, like I stayed away from like Star Wars and Marvel, you know, DC, because I mean Daredevil is was a great series. Still watching it when they re rebooted it. Punisher was great. Like I, you know, I set up I watched as many of those as possible. Watchmen, did you watch Watchmen, the series on HBO?

SPEAKER_02

No, I I got two episodes in it's really good. I just again I just pick up on stuff excellent and I need to come back to it. Like, no, it's really good.

SPEAKER_00

No, you know, then you get the other the other thing, like Let the Nine watch certain shows, right? And then me, you know, if I'm watching a show, for the most part, you know, nine times out of ten, I'll try to finish it. If it's if it's the show's done, I'll try to finish it. There's times when I've left them, like like Walking Dead, we just never went back. But there's times when we're watching shows and then like we're watching Ozark, right? And we got to a point where it got really really graphic, really gruesome, right? And and so you know, we did that, and I was like, Do you want to watch Ozark? She's like, No, I'm like, you know, not really filling in. I was like, okay, cool. You know, next day we we watch an Ozark, you know, because I was like, I'm trying to finish it. She's like, Well, you know, watch some outside. And then then it was like, Look, are you not gonna watch it? Because I'm invested, I'm already in, like, I'm gonna I'm gonna keep going. She's like, Yeah, I'm not gonna watch it. I was like, cool, done. And then I just finished it, right? So I I would mess with her, I was like, stop holding these shows hostage. Like, I want to finish it. She was like, No, I'm not really feeling that anymore. I was like, all right. And then there's times when you're you you catch a show, you're like, man, this is a really good show. And then you get to like on Netflix, right? It was on Netflix for three or four seasons or two or three seasons. Then you have to jump on the season has been out, but it's not available. You have to buy it, and you're like, ah, screw it, man. It's only 20 bucks.

SPEAKER_03

Let's let's keep going.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. No, they'll they'll get you like that. I did the same thing with Zara Call Soul. I said, I'm not gonna wait for Netflix because it just happened. I was like, I'm just gonna buy it. Let's freaking let's get this thing over with. Because at that point, it was the last season. I'm like, Amori invested, like, let's go. You know, yeah. Same thing happened with Tons, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, no, I caught up to it. Because like I said, I think I I got to it probably season two, and then I think I had to pay for season three because they didn't just end it, and so I was I was really pissed off at the beginning because I was like, man, I paid money for this shit, and this this is this is not going well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but then I know you own the complete series, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, um, you know, something I never bought was the actual little it it came with the little crates, you know. I never got that box set. I got them individually. So I won't I always wanted to buy it because it comes with the the table, you know, with the Sun's logo, which I thought was kind of cool. Being a nice little talking piece.

SPEAKER_02

All right, so I own Mad Men and I own science of um DVDs. Yeah, crap. I didn't know DVDs were gonna be obsolete and freaking 15 years or however long it took.

SPEAKER_00

The PS5 still plays them, though, right? The PS5 still plays them?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it'll upscale it a little bit, but it's like come on. And then Mad Men I own in 4K.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay. So now do you have some shows? Do you have some shows that you watch that people be like, what? Leo watches that shit? Like, what are some shows that that you watch? What's your guilty pleasure, right? Your guilty pleasure shows. What are those?

SPEAKER_02

Well, there's no such thing as guilty pleasure, Simon. Like y'all said it on the comment show. Yeah. They don't exist. If you enjoy it, then you can't be a kid like that. Yeah. Another show that is in my top ten. I I'd almost cracked the top five, actually. Have you ever seen Rob City?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_02

That was on Comedy Central. Freaking hilarious, hysterical. Almost as funny as as I think it's if I were to rank my comedies here, it's like right under Seinfeld Park and New Girl. It's it's right there. It's that funny. You should check it out. I watched Grace and Anime. I'm not sure if I was watching of the current RP McSteamie. McSteamie. I watched it. I was caught up on like season 19. I was like, alright, that's enough. Damn. I don't like when it ends, ends, when it ends, ends. I don't know what season they're. Well when they finally finish that show, whenever that is, then maybe I'll finish the rest of it. But it's pretty freaking compelling TV, man. You start the journey from the beginning.

SPEAKER_00

I've never definitely watched that. Yeah, I've never seen it. Never I think Letty's seen it, but I yeah, I've never seen a single show.

SPEAKER_02

Pretty good. Pretty good. Let's see. And then all my shows from back in the day, like uh Felicity and Sawson's Creek.

SPEAKER_00

All those like that's right. Oh yeah, R.I.P. James Banderpeak.

SPEAKER_02

R R. P. James Bander Peak, man. And again, like I was telling you, I blame your brother because he was watching all these kind of shows. And then I'm in this mentality, it's like, but like his shows was like 902 and 0 and Melrose Place, and all those teenagers, all those teenagers were 20 something, right? They were like 25, 26, playing freaking 16.

SPEAKER_00

But what was Andre Andrea? Or Andrea, she had to be like 40.

SPEAKER_01

Andrea.

SPEAKER_00

Andrea.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Andrea Zuckerberg.

SPEAKER_00

Like, come on. Zuckerman. Zuckerberg.

SPEAKER_02

Zuckerberg is freaking Facebook. Zuckerman. But yeah. And then, but when I was watching Dawson's, these kids they looked like they were teenagers. Right. Young Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams and all them.

SPEAKER_00

And what's her photos? All those shows.

SPEAKER_02

My so-called Life.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Wow. That's an old show.

SPEAKER_02

Hey, it was it was a one season, 19 episodes. I used to watch it when it was current. Then they used to show the reruns on MTV, like after school. I used to watch those. I don't own that one. I think uh need to find that on DVD because some of these aren't even in new format, so you the only way you can get them is DVDs. And like I always say, the only thing Jared Leto's ever done is worth the damn was my so-called one. So Broad City, Grey's Anatomy, all my those shows like Dawson's and Felicity, and the other one I was telling you that it's just an awful show, but I just I just like Cat Dennings, it's two bro girls. It's an awful show.

SPEAKER_00

I've never seen that show. I've seen clips of it, but yeah, I've I'm never I mean it looks I don't know. Anytime you see Kat Dennings, right? You're like, I kind of want to see that. And then you're like, uh I'm alright.

unknown

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

The one with uh new show.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that one. That's the one I was like, man, wait, I might give it a shot, but then then you're like, Are you then you watch a little clip of it like I'm good?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think it's Tim Allen. Every time you see Tim Allen, you're like, oh, this can't this can't be good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Tim Allen and Williams, Sean William Scott, I think is in it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I didn't even see I didn't even get that far. I mean, I'm sure it's like on the Hulu or something, and I could just but I just like her. That's why I wish we had more of her. I mean, she she was in one division. I was like, awesome. Because she's great in the MCU, but that show's terrible, it's racist, it's just not funny, but I like her.

SPEAKER_00

But she she makes it better. Yeah, I mean not really.

SPEAKER_02

That's really rap rapid fire, like you wouldn't think uh I'm sitting here watching, but sometimes I like background TV shows, and I've seen all of these pretty much start to finish, except for Green's Anime.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that's just a few things. I know, like, I don't know if you saw Deadwood. It was on HBO. It's I want to say it's critically acclaimed, and it was only like three seasons. That show was so freaking good. I watched it way past, you know what I'm saying? Like after it been out and it it already, you know, had had ended and all that, and people talked about it all the time. And so I was like, you know what, I like Westerns, you know. I'm like I'll check it out. And then what was funny is that I watched that show, and then I'll go to watch Suns, right? And a lot of the there was like four characters from that show that showed up on Suns. You know, Uncer, Uncer was there, the the the lawyer, the the Sons lawyer, she was part of it. The chick from the brothel, she was part of it. It was just like, man, these are all Deadwood characters. What the hell is going on? Ian McShane is so good in that show. And and Ian has a great voice, you know. So so I mean, he he shows up in in John Wick, you know, he's uh the the hotel owner. Yeah. So he's just a great great actor. And so that was a great show. I I I loved it. And then, you know, and then I was like, man, how come they didn't just continue the show? Then they they tried to reboot it. They made a movie like 10 years later, and it was okay. It was okay, but you know, it was one of those shows you wished you'd they continued. Gang Related was a good show, and they only it was only one season, and I was like, Man, what the hell? It had I don't remember that one. Yeah, it was only one season. It was like really crazy. We caught it. We caught it as as it came out. And it has Alvarez. He was one of the yeah, he was one of the characters. In Bar Lavi, she shows up in Sons 2. But it but it was a good show. The the the dad was uh was Smiley from from Training Day, Cliff Curtis, you know, the the dude that can play any any minority and shit. He plays uh he plays a Mexican in this one, he plays like uh Hawaiian or Tongan or whatever, you know, and in Fast and the Furious. And but it was a it was a pretty good show that that only lasted one freaking season. It was like 2014 or something. And then you get to all the all the all the girl shows, right? Orange is a new black, I watched, girls.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's that's another one you got me on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I watched Sex in the City, and then I started reading about what's her face, the main character. And then I tried watching a new one, and I was like, man, I can't I can't watch this show because I don't like this lady. Sarah Jessica Parker.

SPEAKER_02

Sarah Jessica Parker?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, just her.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, I I finished the uh the sequel show called and just like that.

SPEAKER_00

And just like that, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

All right, it was really bad. It was really bad.

SPEAKER_00

I think I I got into maybe the first season. I don't even know if I finished the first season. I was just like, man, I'm out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was really bad. And then the only other thing that I was thinking about, like these characters have gotten in, like they keep giving them endings, yeah, and then they keep drawing out the story. It's like, how did Sex in the City get two movies and a sequel show? We still only have one on tourism.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's what I'm saying. I mean, uh that you know, well, I'm guilty. I watched the damn thing, so I I freaking contributed to it, to that nonsense, but as one of those shows, like I'll check it out, like I'll see what's going on.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I forgot one of my shows, Desperate Housewives. It was on in the same night as Crazy Anatomy back in the day.

SPEAKER_00

I never saw Desperate Housewives either. Like I yeah, great show. I missed a bunch of these shows, and well, I know I know we talked about 24. I enjoyed the hell out of that show.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, 24 is great.

SPEAKER_00

But I never finished it. I think we'd only watched maybe like five seasons of it, and then you just fall, you know, you kind of fall off and do something else.

SPEAKER_02

Then it came back with Dr. Dre.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

We played Dr. Dre and uh Shriada Compton. I watched like the first couple episodes and it was the same format, it just I'd never I never finished it. I don't know. I think that's where we left off. I don't think they've done anything in that universe since.

SPEAKER_00

But I think that's that's it for the shows that I'm like, uh, I mean, I'm game for just about any show, right? I mean, if it like I watched what was it, House of Lies that I enjoyed. I think that's Don Cheetos in it. I think it's House of Lies, it was on Showtime back in the day. You know, I did I watched all of Taylor Sheridan's universe, you know, with the Yellowstone and H and 83 and 1923 and Lioness was really good. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Landman was Oh yeah, I've heard that's good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Heard that's good with Zoe.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Right. It's it's a really good show. You should, you know, out of all the Taylor Sheridan shows, that's probably his best show. I mean, Yellowstone was good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, I But Lioness. I avoid all those shows on as a general rule. I just stay away from those shows. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Lioness, there's a there's a scene where Zoey, Zoe's like a special ops group, right? They they bring these people in and they're they infiltrate certain areas and then they try to get info and then they get out, right? And so they kind of work above the government. They're like black ops or I don't know what you call it. I'm not in the military, so you know, I'm not I'm not gonna sit there and claim to know what the what the hell's going on, but they're kind of they're above a lot of people, right? So anyways, always shows up in this base, and then the guy that's running the base is like, you know, who's running this? He's like, I am, and she goes, he goes, Well, I'm so-and-so, blah, blah. And she's like, I'm the highest ranking officer anywhere I go. And I was like, oh shit. Like I've seen that clip, yeah. Yeah, she's like, Where's your office? He's like, that's where I'm gonna be from now on. And I'm like, God damn, you know, she comes in and well just tears shit up.

SPEAKER_02

Well, see, all these shows are on all these shows are on Paramount Plus, right?

SPEAKER_00

Correct. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So it's just like I was saying earlier, like the law of all the web saves is Netflix or everything was there, now everyone has their own IP and I'm just I've Apple T V and Paramount Plus is too that I just like I can't justify getting those 'cause then then I do have to start watching stuff. 'Cause it's like why am I paying ten bucks or whatever it is for nothing? So that's one of the that's one of the barriers for me for all those shows is it's Paramount I don't want to get Paramount plus.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, Paramount and we have 'em. We have every damn thing known to man. So it still pisses me off when I can't find certain shows that they're trying to charge me for. But if you do have Apple TV, Shrinken is good, Ted Lasso was good. Yeah, I heard that was good. We watched what was that other show? I think it's called Bad Bad Girls.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, with Christina Hendrix?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, no, no, no, that's not it. Or is that a different yeah, that's a different show. That I also I also jumped on that. Bad Sisters.

unknown

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Bad Sisters is, you know, Letty was watching it and I was like, ah, what do you watch? Oh, the show about sisters. Like, okay, cool. You know, and I'm like, oh, I'll sit down. And I was like, okay. All right, what's going on here? You know what I'm saying? Like, she goes, okay, I'm gonna press pause it. I'm gonna I'm gonna catch you up to speed. I was like, cool. And then we watched it. We watched there's only two seasons so far, but the first season was really, really good. And I actually honestly think you'll you'd like it. One is there's five sisters, and they're always together. And the inner, like kind of the the intermingling of all of them together will remind you of like, because there's five of us, right? And so when we get together, there's just certain roles that people play, you know what I'm saying, that you kind of fall back into. That show does a really good job of showing you kind of family, you know what I'm saying, and and how everyone is and how they can they'll call each other out, or you know, one will look at the other one and go in and almost without saying anything, you know, kind of communicate with each other. So that that that to me I thought was was pretty interesting. But it it's a good show, so you you might want to check it out. So anyway, what are we gonna what are we gonna what are we gonna board approve here?

SPEAKER_02

Have your like your favorite TV show is your favorite TV show, and it's gonna be different than the next person. That doesn't mean it's any worse or any better than it. So pick a favorite show.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and and I would say do what you did, right? Rank them. I know some people are gonna say, well, I don't rewatch shows. Okay, whatever. If you rewatch certain shows, rank them by that, because that that threw that threw me for a tailspin a little bit because I was like, Well, I have my five shows. These are my have always been my five shows, or they've been my five shows for the past I don't know how long. And now you're like, but have you rewatched them? And it's like shit. So yeah, rank your shows, you know, your top five shows, and talk about them, you know, with with the next time you're out with with with the guys or with your wife or whatever. And yeah, you're right. It's not gonna be it's not gonna be a consensus, and you know, and and that's that's the whole part of this, right? Is is you know, build a good argument that those are your top five shows and why they're better than everybody else's shows. That's what I would do.

SPEAKER_02

And then some of these shows are out there, right? Like Mad Men is HBO Max right now, 4K upgrade. Seinfeld is on Netflix, Parkinson Rec is on Peacock, Center Call Sol is on Netflix. You know, a lot of these shows are just out there. A lot of these shows are on these free services like Tubi and Pluto and Flex, and they just have a live channel playing all the time in order.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_02

That's why I was watching Mad Men again here recently, just Mad Men for like a week straight. Because it was always on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you know, that's I just yeah. It's okay to rewatch movies and TV shows and whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, don't don't make it weird. Don't make it weird, just rewatch it. Well, there you go. Order proved.
