Exploring the Language of Scripture

Welcome! I'm Daniel Mikkelsen (BA, MPhil (Cantab), Cand.theol.), a PhD candidate in New Testament at the University of Edinburgh. Our podcast exists to make gems from biblical studies accessible to everyday Christians, bridging the gap between scholarly discourse and everyday understanding to enrich your personal walk with God and deepen your love for Him and His Word. We aim to demonstrate how the biblical languages help open up Scripture, fostering a desire to learn these languages to deepen your comprehension and appreciation of the Word of God, as well as your participation in His mission.

James Maurice Morgan

James is a lecturer and researcher in biblical studies at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, where he teaches New Testament, Greek, and exegesis. He specialises in the Gospel of Luke and Acts, and has written numerous scholarly articles and book chapters on these texts. He is the author of Encountering Images of Spiritual Transformation: The Thoroughfare Motif within the Plot of Luke–Acts, and has recently focused on reading Luke’s Gospel in light of ancient Greek historians—especially Herodotus, a theme we explore in this episode.
