Unlocking Past Lives Through Hypnosis

Stan Mallow

Journey to the furthest reaches of consciousness with Steve Burgess, a master hypnotherapist who fell into his profession by accident and discovered his true calling. After 33 years and over 15,000 therapy sessions, Burgess shares in his interview with host Stan Mallow on “Paranormal Yakker” the extraordinary healing potential of past life regression therapy that has helped thousands overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Burgess immediately dispels common misconceptions about hypnosis—you don't go "under" anything; you enter a state of focused relaxation where healing becomes possible. This clarity sets the stage for the remarkable cases he shares, including a woman with a terminal liver condition given six months to live who, after releasing trauma from past lives as a stabbed Native American and a bayoneted Polish boy, is now 29 years past her diagnosis and thriving.

The conversation ventures into territory few therapists dare explore—alien contact experiences, spirit attachments, and past lives on other planets. Burgess recounts his work with a family who experienced missing time after a spacecraft encounter, revealing memories recovered through careful, non-leading regression techniques. His recent discoveries suggest many people currently on Earth may actually be "star seeds" with origins on other planets, here to help humanity through challenging times.

Burgess's adventures extend beyond his therapy room—performing hypnosis on the Great Wall of China, spending a night in his own grave as part of shamanic training, and developing a friendship with Britain's most notorious prisoner, Charles Bronson, revealing the artistic soul behind the fearsome reputation. These extraordinary experiences illuminate the boundless healing potential when we access the deeper layers of consciousness.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, physical ailments, or simply curious about the nature of consciousness and past lives, Burgess's compassionate approach offers insights into healing possibilities beyond conventional medicine. Discover how releasing the past might transform your present from Burgess, author of “Adventures of a Hypnotherapist: Was I Under?”.

Hi everyone, I'mStan Mallow. Welcome to Paranormal Yakker. My guesttoday is Steve Burgess, one of theworld's leadinghypnotherapists anda specialist inpast liferegression.I'll be talkingwith Steve abouthis book,Adventures of a Hypnotherapist, Was I Under? Steve Burgess, welcome toParanormal Yakker. Thanks for havingme on, Stan, Iappreciate it.Thank you.The profession youare now in, one inwhich you havedevoted your lifeto helping othersheal by using thephenomenal power oftheir subconsciousminds, was not theprofession you setout to become. It is in fact oneyou fell into byaccident. Couldyou, Steve, describe thisodyssey thatchanged your life?Yeah, I like theword odyssey aswell, Stan, that'sbrilliant. Itreally has been.Yeah, 33 years ago,I was a director ofa publishingcompany andeverything wasgoing well and thenwe went bust andtook some of mymoney with it.I had to thinkabout doingsomething fairlyquickly. And myfather had beenplaying withhypnotherapy forsome time. Now, myfather's ascientist byprofession and hetried to give upsmoking many times.Nothing had worked. And one day he wentto see ahypnotherapist andthis therapist laidhim in acomfortable chairand relaxed him andtalked to himquietly and softlyabout being anonsmoker. And my dad didn'twant cigarettesanymore. And hecouldn't understandthis. It didn'tmake sense. So hisleft brain, hisscientific leftbrain, it didn'tcompute, did not make sense. So he started toread up abouthypnosis and becamefascinated and somuch so that hetrained as ahypnotherapist andthen startedworking from homejust with familyand friends. It wasa hobby, really. And then peopleheard about him sohe would helppeople withdifferent issues. And so he said tome, well, why don'tyou have a thinkabout being ahypnotherapist? So I thought, well,I knew very littleabout it, but wentinto it, gottrained. And I wasvery lucky becauseit's almost like Iwas coming homeinto something thatI shouldhave been doing. And I always saythat some peopleare naturaltherapists in thesame way that somepeople are naturalsports people, somepeople are naturalmusicians, somepeople are naturaltherapists. And I'm a naturaltherapist. So I gotstarted and reallynever looked backand great successesin the early dayshelp people tostop smoking. And then my sort oftherapeuticportfolio justbecame wider andwider to such adegree that I thenstarted to helppeople with allsorts of issues. And 33 years later, over 15,000 therapysessions later, here I still am.I would be amissSteve, if beforegoing any further,I didn't ask youabout the secondpart in the titleof your book, thefirst part,Adventures of aHypnotherapist,I get. The second partI don't fully get.So that's why Iwould like you totell me what's thereason for youcalling the secondpart of your title. Was I under?Funnily enough, itwas my father'sidea. When he readthe manuscripts, hesaid, why do youcall the bookWas I Under? The reason is, isbecause I put somewords in the bookabout the fact thatwhenever peopletalk about hypnosisor hypnotherapy, they talk aboutbeing underhypnosis. And it becomes likea red rag to abull, becausehypnosis is a formof relaxation. Andyou don't go underrelaxation, youdon't go under arelaxed state.Hypnosis is atrance, you don'tgo under trance, you go intorelaxation, you gointo hypnosis, yougo into trance. So I'll be honest,if I had a poundfor the number oftimes over theyears, Stan, when aclient at the endof a session, afterI've explained thisto them, adnauseam, you're notgoing to be asleep, you're not going tobe in a coma, you're not underanesthetic, you'llbe able to heareverything they'resaying, you'll beable to hear soundsoutside the room, you'll be able to,if you need to, getup and go for a peehalfway through. You're not underanything, but thenumber of times atthe end of asession, the clientcomes out of tranceand they say, well,I don't think I wasunder, I could hearwhat you weresaying, or I couldhave opened my eyesif I wanted. And so, you know,I grit my teeth, because this hashappened for the4000th time. I say, look, you're notunder anything,I did explain that.So I sort of make abit of play aboutthis because I'vetried to make thebook as funny as Ipossibly can, although it's alsoquite shocking inparts as well andvery serious inother parts, butI wanted some of mysort of humor tocome through. So what I under waslike a funnysubtitle.I thank you forthat explanation. You, Steve, havecompleted thousandsof past liferegressions, helping yourclients get yourlives back on trackby resolving issuesthat have hamperedtheir growth andhappiness. In that regard, have you foundcertain issuespeople come to youwith for help aremore prevalent thanother issues?Yes and no. Ialways count myselfas what I call ahypnotic GP, ahypnotic generalpractitioner. So Idon't specialize intreating any onething. Sometherapists do.Anxiety is one ofthe main thingsthat we treat ashypnotherapists andregressiontherapists. It'slike there's anepidemic of anxietyout there. Also phobias, depression respondsvery well toregression therapyand physicalissues. I work alot with clientswho have physicalproblems and havehad incrediblesuccess, thankfully, withhelping them tohealphysical issues. But having saidthat, every issuethat we have as ahuman being stopsus from living ourlife freely. Everyissue that we taketo the doctors, every issue that wetake for therapycan comefrom the past. They come fromtraumas in thepast. So theregression model isthat all of theissues we have ashuman beings arecaused by locked infeelings andemotions frompast traumas. And the regressionprocess is aboutgoing back intothose traumas torelease the energyand the emotionsthat are causingthe problem in thefirst place. Andwhen you do that, then the problemjustdissolves away.To answer yourquestion, yes, certainly somethings are veryprevalent in thetherapy setting, but actuallyregression can workwith virtuallyanything.Included in the15,000 plus therapysessions you'veconducted are casesthat explored aliencontact experiencesand the releasingof spiritattachments. Canyou, Steve, share acase from each ofthose categories?Stuff has got 2aspects to it,Stan. I'll share acase, first of all,but if I may, thenI'll maybe expand alittle bit in termsof what's beenhappening in thelast year from analien past lifeperspective, whichisn't in the book, because obviously Iwrote the book acouple ofyears ago.For me, one of themost interestingand what for mecases which provesthe reality ofextraterrestrialcontact is a casewhere I was calledby a Sky TVproducer to see ifI would regress alady whose familybelieved thatthey'd had somesort of ET orcontact experienceor possibly evenabductionexperience. And so this was fora TV show that Skyproduced some yearsago called The Real4400. She'sactually still onYouTube, I believe. And what hadhappened was thisfamily, it was alady called Racheland her mom andRachel's 2 youngsons who were about10, 11 years old.And what hadhappened one day isthat they had gonefor lunch in arestaurant close bythe home. As theywere driving backhome, a spacecraftsuddenly came rightdown alongside thecar, startedshining lightsinto the car.And they were allobviously amazed, but they all hadthis incrediblesense of euphoria. And all of a suddenthis happened forseconds. And thenthe next thing thespacecraft justshot off at thespeed of light anddisappeared. And they were allleft feeling verycrestfallen anddisappointed. Andall they could dowas talk about thisincredibleexperience all theway home. But theyarrived home tofind that a journeywhich should havetaken 20 minuteshad taken an hourand 20 minutes. They'd lost an hourof their lives. Sothey had thismissing timeexperience. Andthey knew somethinghad happened, butthey didn't knowwhat. They had noconscious memory. And it wastroubling to them. They were veryupset about it. Theboys were gettingnightmares andanxieties over it.It was just such abig experience, butthey had no proofthat anything hadhappened.I agreed to regressRachel the mom tosee if we couldtake her back tofind out what hadhappened that day.And this is all oncamera. So I guidedher into tranceinto a gentlehypnotic state, guided her back tothe day of theincident. And she thenremembered what hadhappened is as shewas driving the carand the spacecraftcame down, it thentook the car upinto the airbeneath thespacecraft. In someway they were takenout of the car andinto the spaceship, which wasvery dark inside. And there werelights flashing andthings like that. And they knew therewere some beingsbehind the screenwhich weretelepathicallycommunicating withthem. They wouldn'tshow themselves. And they all feltthis incrediblefeeling ofeuphoria again. And then lightscame out like orbs. And these orbsstarted to move upand down aroundRachel. And shefound it was quitefunny. It wasalmost like this isweird. It was likethese orbs. Theselights were almostx-raying her. Itwas probably theway we would knowit. Orscanning her.And it did the sameto her mom. Then asshe was in trance, she had a big smileon her face andsuddenly she becamevery scared andvery tense. And shesaid, No, don'thurt the boys.Don't hurt theboys. And then sherelaxed again. Andshe said, It'sokay. She said,They're reassuringme. They're notgoing to hurt us.They're not goingto hurt the boys. They're justcheckingthings out.So this scanning ofthem went on forsome time beforethey were put backinto the car. Thecar was loweredback onto the roadand they went offon the road and thespacecraft shot offat thespeed of light. The relief that shehad and the reliefthat that broughtto the family wasimmense becausethey now knewsomething had happened. What I will alwayssay with this work,Stan, is that Idon't lead myclients. I'm verycautious aboutthis. I use what wecall cleanlanguage. So I'mnot saying, Well, tell me about thespacecraft you wentinto. No, no, no,no. She came upwith all theinformation. At the end of therecording, theproducer asked me,he said, Do youfeel that that wasreal? Now, I'malways looking forparticular signswhen I doregressionsessions. For me, all theregression signswere there. And sofor me, as I lookback on that, I'mtotally convincedthat that familyhad that abductionexperience. Also, becausethere's no goodreason why theyshould havepretended that theyhad an abductionexperience. Becauseobviously they werelaying themselvesopen to ridicule,as youprobably know. There's so manypeople who come outhaving had contactexperiences thatare ridiculedterribly. So theyhad no benefit toactually sharingthis sort of story. So for me, that wasvery, very real. And so that's oneof the ETexperiences that Iwrite aboutin the book. But going on fromthat, if I may, iswhat's beenhappening in thelast year or 2for me and my team.I have a team ofhypnotherapists, regressiontherapists, who I'vetrained in myregression system. They're all veryexperienced. I passwork on to thembecause I just getso busy all thetime. I've got somany clients comingin all the time. And we all foundthat at the end of2023, for a periodof about 3months, we startedto have clients whocame to us fortherapy, who wentback into pastlives on otherplanets as otherlife forms,non-humanlife forms. And theextraordinary thingwas that I've hadthat occasionallyhappen over theyears, not veryoften, but maybeonce every 5,10 years, somebodyhas a past life onanother planet. For example, I hada gentleman inNorway some yearsago, because I usedto run a lot ofhypnotherapycourses in Norway. And this gentlemanrelived a past lifewhere he was anextraterrestrialwho crash landed onEarth. He survivedthe crash, but thenhe spent some timeterrified on Earth, trying to hide awayfrom everybody andtheauthorities, etc.Because he knew ifhe'd been caught,he would be introuble, becauseespecially we knowwhat the Americansare like when itcomes toextraterrestrialsor the Americangovernment, sorry, not the Americanpeople, becausethey're beautiful, they're wonderful. And he spent thewhole of thesession in tranceand he kept saying,What's wrong withthem down here? What is wrong withthem? It doesn'thave to be like this. And he wasrealizing that hecome from a higherplace where peoplelive withintelligence, andhe'd come down ontoplanet asylum, andit felt all thefear of all that.Fortunately, whathappened is hispeople did come forhim, and it was alittle bit like ETphone home, wherehe then he wentback up into thespacecraft and theytook him back tohis home planet. That sort of thinghappenedoccasionally, andthen for a periodof 3 or 4months at the endof 23, start of 24last year, me andmy team found thatday after day wewere regressingclients back intopast lives, andthey went back intonon-human form asextraterrestrialson other planets. And what we sort ofhave found, and alot of these peoplehave found it verydifficult to fit inin their lives onEarth, have neverfeltcomfortable here.Often they've beenvery sensitive, then they've hadtrouble atschool, etc.And it looks like,I say that theyalso have a, thehome planet iswhere they'reactually from. It'sas if they're notreallyhuman beings. They've been senthere for a reasonat this time onEarth. And mybelief, and I can'tquantify this, butthis is my belief,is that they'rehere on Earth aswhat would havecalled starseeds, and I'm sure you'veheard the phrase, which are thesepeople who arebeings who weresent to Earth inorder to raise ourvibrations, inorder to channel, if you like. It's like they havea direct line tothose up there whoare able then to,and they'rebringing down ahigher energy ontoEarth, whichhopefully ishelping, I believethere's a greatawakening takingplace on Earthnowadays.Having looked atso many things forso many years, andI think they'repart of the greatawakening. I thinkthey're going tohelp us through themess that we'reactually in rightnow, and help us tocome through thisand winout over thecontrolling powersthat don't want usto be free. With regard tospirit attachments, this is somethingthat I don't findall the time, butmore regularly thanpeople like tothink. Sometimes Ihave clients whohave a spiritattached to them. This is a spirit ofa person or a thingthat has died, butis not fully passedover, that remainsEarthbound. But you know oneform of spirit, anEarthbound spirit,is a ghost. But some spirits, because they'relost or confused orscared, theysometimes will notmove on fully, andthey then willsometimes attachthemselvesto a person. And what happensthen is we pick upon their energies. If that spirit islost and hurt andscared, we feeltheir energies, andwe don't know whywe'refeeling like this. Then we go to thedoctor saying I'mdepressed and gettablets. But thefact is, there's aspirit attachmentcausingthe problem. It does appeargenerally thatpeople who are in alower mood, they tendto be more open tospirit attachments. It's actually saidthat they canattach ontoanybody, even ifyour moodis very high. But generally, ifyour energies arehigher, you areshinier, and it'sharder for them tohook into us.Whereas if you'relow and depressedand unhappy, youtend to be an easytarget for them. And what I've foundis that peopleoften get scared bythis concept, butvery few of thesespirits are notnice. Most of themare just lost andjust needsending home. And usually we gothrough a protocolto send them home, where they canfully move on intothe spirit worldand continue theirjourney as a soulover theirlifetimes to come. And what happens iswhen we do that, the client feels alot of relief, andoften, really quitedifferent inside, because what hasbeen causing theproblem is nolonger there. So, you know, occasionally we'llcome upon a spiritwhich is a littlebit more nasty orunpleasant, butthey will alwaysmove on at somestage if we do the right work.A woman who came toyou suffering froma serious and rareliver condition, she had been givenonly 6 months tolive by herconsultant, is nowalive thanks tohypnotherapy. Canyou, Steve, elaborateon that case?I actually startthe book with thisbecause it's stillone of the greattriumphs of mycareer, if youlike. So this ladycame to me, she wasin a mid-30s, anex-police officerin the UK. She hadthis rare liverdisease calledfocal nodularhyperplasia.I'd never heard ofanything like this.Only about 12people in the UKhave this at anyone time. Nobodysurvives it, andhers was the mostaggressive. And the disease issuch that tumors, they're notcancerous tumors, but they're tumorswhich grow on theliver, and theygrow to be the sizeof grapefruits, youcould say.And what happens isthe resulting painis awful, becausethese tumors pushall the internalorgans all aroundthe place, into thewrong place. Theliver stopsfunctioning correctly. The sufferer startsto feel toxic allthe time, and shewas just inabsolute pain. Sothis lady had to behelped up to myoffice by 2people, and she satin front of me. Shelooked like a stickinsect stand. Shewas lost somuch weight. And she spent most ofthe day just layingon a sofa or a bed,in pain, feelingsick. She had ayoung daughter, shecouldn't doanything with thisyoung daughter. Shewas doped up to theeyeballs on morphine. And this specialisthad just done hisbest, but he said,There's nothingelse I can do. I'mguessing you've gotabout 6 months tolive. She sat infront of me andsaid, You're mylast hope.I talked to herabout the emotionalcauses of illness, because everyillness hasemotional causes. With the liver,it's the angerthat's locked in tothe liver. And shequite understoodthis concept. So in our firstsession, I guidedher into trance, and I gave her somepost-hypnoticsuggestions torelieve the pain, because the painwas so bad for her.And somepost-hypnoticsuggestions abouthow she's going tostart to feelbetter and move onin her life, andwe're going to dosome good worktogether. And she came out oftrance and shelooked verydifferent. The painhad gone from 10out of 10 to 4 outof 10 in half anhour. So I taughther someself-hypnosis, andshe went home. Shecame back a weeklater. She'd comeoff all of themorphine. Shedidn't needit anymore. The pain, she hadcompletely the painunder control usingself-hypnosis.Generally, the painwas down to about 2out of 10, andshe'd got her lifeback. She wasstarting to eatagain. Whereasbefore, she feltnauseous all thetime. She wasstarting toeat again. So 2 thingshappened here. Oneis we began workingon the emotionalcauses of theillness. We didwork on herchildhood torelease childhoodtrauma. And therewere 2 past liveswhich were causingthis liver disease. In the first pastlife, she was aNative Americansquaw. And araiding party cameinto her village, and a brave came upbehind her andgrabbed her andstabbed her in theback andkilled her.And of course, guess where thedagger went? Itwent straightthrough where theliver is in thislife. In the secondpast life, she wentinto the SecondWorld War as ayoung teenagePolish boy who wasbayoneted to deathby the Nazis andthen throwninto a river. And of course, guess where thebayonet went?Again, straightthrough where theliver is. And Iwill actually saythat a lot of pastlife regressionwork is aboutreleasing deathtrauma inprevious lives. We worked throughboth of those pastlives, and we didwork a lot of workto help her toheal. Now, whatthen happened isthe tumour stoppedgrowing, which isunheard of. Thetumours actuallystopped growing. Her surgeon, herspecialist, aconsultant, thenthought that, well, she's now strongenough to dosurgery on. And itwas a surgery thatshe'd had donetwice previously. And twicepreviously, it wasa completedisaster. The first time hedamaged the liveritself, the secondtime thegallbladder wasdamaged so badly,it had to beremoved. Andbasically, this isa surgery where hehad to implant itpush a plastictube, having made aslit in the groin, threw blood vesselsup to the liver andthen try to pushcrystals and coils, force them up theplastic tubeto the liver. And the idea wasthen these thingswould attachthemselves to thetumours, cut offthe blood supply, and then they die.And that's thetheory. But one ofthe problems is inorder for hersurgeon to see whathe's doing, she hadto drink dye downbefore the surgery. Now, this poor ladywas highly allergicto virtuallyeverything. So inthe operatingtheatre, she's justspent all the timevomiting andretching andvomiting andretching. And thepoor surgeon istrying to do adelicate operationon a body which isjust movingall the time. And she turned upat my office oneMonday morning andsaid, well, I sawmy consultant lastweek, he wants todo the surgeryagain. And my voicesaid, we'll do thesurgery andhypnosis. Then I realised Ijust said thosewords. I was verysurprised. Who thehell said that? Andshe said, okay,we'll have a wordto the surgeon. Hewas happy to goahead. So we didthe surgery withoutany anaesthetic.I went into theoperating theatrewith her, took herinto trance.I disassociated herout of the body, havinganaesthetised herbody with the mind.So we did somehypno-anesthesia.So the body wasanaesthetised. Itcouldn't feelanything. And then I guidedher up all the 13floors of thehospital. And wewent on animaginary visionaryjourney around theuniverse, all theway through thesurgery. Thesurgeon got on withhis job. The end ofthe surgery, hecouldn't believeit. He turned tome, did the surgeryand he said, I havenever ever seenanything like thisin my career. He said it was likeoperating on a deadbody. There were nodefensive reflexes. Also, the surgerytook like, I think,90 minutes, whereasthe previous timesit had been severalhours. And she wasout of hospital 2days later. Andthat lady is now 29years past her dieby date. She evensubsequentlyhad a child. So this is A, thepower of thesubconscious mindand B, the power ofregression therapyto work onreleasing theemotional traumasof illness in orderthat the illnessgets weaker and weaker. You've performedtherapy on theGreat Wall of Chinaand the Inca Trailin Peru. What,Steve, were thevibes, the energylike, working atthose ancientmystical sites? Anddid they differ, ifindeed they did itall, fromperforming therapyat locations thatdon't have thehistory of theGreat Wall and theInca Trail? That's a reallyinterestingquestion, Stan.I've never thoughtof this. I didn'tnotice any sort ofdifference inenergy. That couldhave been becausegenerally I wasdoing the therapysessions after aday's walking. Andusually what hadhappened is, aftera day's walking, wewere just all sodamned exhausted. The Great Wall ofChina is just madeup of thousands ofsteps. I think oneday we walked10,000 steps up10,000 steps. Andso I was sort ofnot going throughthe motions, but Ithink I was justtired and sofocused on gettinga result for myclients that Iwasn't reallyaware of that. What I will say, though, is thatwhen I arrived forthe first time onthe Great Wall ofChina, it was veryemotional toactually bestanding on a site, one of theseincredible, extraordinaryplaces in theworld, that veryfew people areprivileged to gofrom the West. And we went to, wewere doing acharity walk for achildren's societycharity in the UK.We went to parts ofthe Great Wall thatthe tourists arenot allowed to see.And it was anextraordinaryexperience. Andthere is anatmosphere aboutthe Great Wall, definitely. Now,that could bebecause it's highin the mountains,of course, andmountains arealways amazingplaces to be.But there is anenergy about it.And of course, theInca Trail is quiteremarkable as well. What the story forthe therapy aboutthe Inca Trail ison the night beforewe started thetrek, thechildren's societyknew about my workand they knew aboutthe work I'd donein the China Wallthe year before. And they saidthere's quite a fewpeople coming onthis trek. It was80 people, quite afew of them whohave gotheight phobias. And I do thinkthere's anythingyou can do to helpthem becauseobviously we'regoing to be walkinghigh up in theAndes with narrow,we're walking downnarrow littlepathways with asheer drop, hundreds offeet below. And this was goingto be a tough gigfor some people. Doyou think you canhelp them? So onthe night before westarted the trek,I did a group sessionwith 12 people,I think it was.And by the end ofthe trek, everysingle person hadcome to me andsaid, thank you. It's been amazing.I wasn't scaredonce. I didn't havea single problem.Again, the power ofthe mind. And ofcourse, Machu Picchuis just anamazing place, asyou can imagine. You, Steve, didsomething thatboggles my mind. That was to spend anight in your owngrave. What wasyour reason fordoing it?It was all part ofmy spiritualprocess. So I'dbeen a Buddhist fora number of years.I was a practicingBuddhist. And butafter a while, Igot a bit, it felta bitreligious at times. So I sort ofstarted thinking, well, part of mypast lifebackground is as aNative American. SoI joined a group inthe UK that wereteaching shamanism,Native Americanshamanism. So part of theceremonies and therituals that wedid, and we didquite a lot, obviously, innature. Forexample, we did alot of sweatlodges. I did lotsof sweat lodges, which are veryintenseexperiences. But this particularexperience was aceremony calledMaking an Ally ofDeath. And so therewas a group of uson a beautiful, very large farm inthe middle ofEngland, in thehills, miles awayfrom everybody. And we had to spenda full day diggingour own grave. Soit was 6 feetdown. We had tohack through anddig it out. Andhaving done aceremony at dusk,we were then putinto our own grave. And it was coveredin boards and thenthe earth and thentarpauling was puton the boards.Earth was piled upon the top of it,just leaving asmall hole for meto get into. And then that wasclosed up with justa little bit of ahole, a small holeto get air through. Andwe then had aceremony all nightlong to doin the grave. And I can'tremember what theceremony was now,but initially, Imean, I wasworried. I mean,it's just a weirdthing to do,obviously. But itwas a scarything to do.Having said that, what happened is Ifeltextraordinarilycomfortable. It wasas though I wasbeing cradled byMother Earth. Itwas just a reallycalming, beautifulexperience.I was being cradledby Mother Earth andI survived thenight. I really did.Amazingexperience, though.I would imagine. Inaddition tospending the nightin your own grave, another strangeadventure you wenton was to spendtime in prison withBritain's mostviolent prisoner. What wasthat all about?I sometimes tellpeople that I spent3 years inprison and thenrealize I shouldhave rephrasedthat. So just atthe start of myhypnotherapycareer, I wasinvited to teachstress managementand meditation toprisoners in thelocal prison in thecity where I lived. So I used to go inthere and work withthe standard, youcould call them runof the millprisoners, most ofthem young lads inthe teens or in thetwenties doingstressmanagement work. And then I wasinvited to go on toa particular wingin the prison. Itwas called A-Wing.And this wing wasonly for what arecalled category Aprisoners. These are murderersand all roundbaddies. And it wasa wing where theywere just giventime to get theirheads together awayfrom the mainprison system.I was asked if I'dlike to go in thereand do some workwith them. And so Idid meet severalmurderers and Iwould sitmeditating in acell with amurderer, which isa really bizarreexperience. But I was thenintroduced toCharles Bronson,Charlie Bronson, who in the UK is alegend. He's spentmost of his life inprison. He's spentover half of hislife in prison. He's an armedrobber or he was anarmed robber. And the prisonsystem has done itsbest to break himand it's neverbroken him. Now,this Charlie's abig man. He doesabout 3000 pressups a day. Hedoesn't sleep on abed. He sleeps onthe floor. He don'twant to get soft. And in fact, therewas a movie withTom Hardy playinghim called Bronsonsome years ago, which gives a goodidea of Charlie'spower andstrengths. And itwas very strange. We got on very welltogether. We got onlike ahouse on fire. And what wediscovered in thatprison is thatCharles Bronson hadan incredibleartistic talent.Nobody had foundthis before. They'dalways treated himas a thug. But wefound there was alittle artistic boyin there, inhindsight, thisgrown man,who loved to draw, who loved to doartistic things. And Charlie foundout that I was apart time writer. And so he came upwith an idea for usto write a radioplay together. Andthe radio play wasall of Charlie'sidea. Well, I putso much in, but theconcept was his.And I include quitea bit of it in thebook to give peoplean idea of just howgood this radioplay is. I've justgone so well withhim. I have a lotof respect for thisman. He'sstill in prison. Now, he's beingheld in prisonwrongly, in myopinion, becausehe's never murderedanybody. He's gotvery in his world, strong moral tones. And there arepeople going in andout of prisonhaving raped andmurdered fora few years. This man's been inover half of hislife. He's now 68,I think. And he'sno longer a dangerto the public. Heactually he callshimself now CharlesSalvador afterSalvador Dali, thegreat artist. And he sells hispaintings forcharity. And theBritish governmentinsist on keepinghim in prison, which is so wrong,in my opinion. So,yeah, it was quitean experiencebecause you wouldhave thought thisbig, gruff Cockney,Londoner would havebatted me awayfairly quickly. But we got on sowell. I have a lotof respect forCharlie Bronson. Ireally do.When it comes tophysical pains, challenges orillnesses thatpeople face, is itpossible tocategorize whichones can be causedby past lifeexperiences andwhich ones arepurely result ofthe body welive in today? My world isactually is a factall physicalillness hasemotional causes. So what that meansis that underneaththe physicalillness, there areemotional energieswhich are causingthe issue. So any issue, anyphysical issue, anyphysical pain cancome from previouslives, can comefrom trauma in thislife or even ourancestors lives, because I do a lotof ancestral traumarelease, because wecan inherit traumasfrom our ancestorsin our bloodline. And, you know, inthe book, Imentioned quite afew of these. So,for example, it maybe somebody comesin with a bad back. And we found thatin a past life, they've beenspeared in the backand killed, relivethe death.Sometimes someclients relive thedeath in quite adramatic way, butit releases theenergy, we relivethe death, theenergy dissolvesaway and the paingoes away.So this is theconcept in the bookI write about alady who hadcancer, lip cancer. And I'm notclaiming to curecancer, that wouldbe foolish, though,we did find therewere two past liveswhich were causingher cancer. In one of the pastlives, she was ayoung woman, anoble woman livingin a castle, let'ssay, in medievaltimes. And she wasa very seductive 16year old girl, andshe had a maleservants, and shewas very flightyaround him, and hegot the wrongsignals from her,and one day kissedher. Oh, well, shewent berserk. Thatwas completely noservant should evertouch or kiss thelady. And the boyran away, he wasfrightened and heknew he'd donesomething very bad.And she didn't knowwhat to do. And shethought, well, if Itell my father,he'll have himkilled. So sheactually told hersister who told herfather who had theboy executed.Remember, she gotlip cancer. So thisis about speakingout. You know, there's often asymbolicaspect to illness. In the second pastlife, she was anAfrican woman whowas down by theriver doing somewashing in a, youknow, the tribe, when one of thevillage elders cameand raped her andthen left her andwalked off. Andfirst of all, obviously, that wasdevastating enough. But secondly, sheknew that shecouldn't tellanybody about it.A because he was avillage elder, nobody wouldbelieve her. B, shewould then belooked upon astainted and shewould never find ahusband, so shecouldn't speak out.So again, thesymbolic aspects oflip cancer, shecouldn't speak out.So all of thatlocked in energywas here in theface throughout herlife. And it cameout in the form oflip cancer. So wedid these sessions, she went and hadalso somekinesiologysessions.Kinesiology is anincredible therapyprocess. And 5months later, sheemailed me to saythey couldn't finda trace of cancerin her body. Idon't knowwhy that it was. When it comes topast lives andreincarnation, justabout everyone iscurious to knowjust how many pastlives do we usuallylive? And can we bereborn as animals? You, Steve, havethe answers tothose questions. What are they?Well, I'll come onto the animals in amoment. First ofall, the number ofpast lives, thelikelihood is forthe vast majorityof people on Earth. Now, we've livedthousands of lives, tens of thousandsof lives. Now,Tibetan Buddhismsays we've livedcountless livesover aeons, countless aeons ofexistence. And I don't know howtrue that is, butmy sense andexperience is thatmost of us havelived manylifetimes in thethousands on Earth, and that's withoutbeing reborn onother planets, etc. However, it doesappear that somepeople arerelatively new toEarth, and somepeople would callthem new souls.Either that meansthat they have hadpast lives on otherplanets, and nowthey've come intohuman form. Or itcould be, but Idon't know how thiscould be done. Theycould be created asnew souls in someway. So that'ssomething I can'tquantify. And certainlyI remenber some year ago,I use a therapytechnique where Iask my clientssubconscious whilstthey're in tranceto take control ofa finger. Thefinger moves all byitself so I can getyes-no answers tomy questions. There was onegentleman who camefor therapy, ateacher of primaryschool teachers, ateacher of youngchildren, and healways had a verylight energy abouthim. He was almostnaive in a way.And he asked me oneday, because we'retalking about, hesaid, I wonder howmany lives I've hadhere on Earth? SoI asked hissubconscious, and Iwas expecting itcould be 10,000,5,000, 3,000.He's so consciousbecause I was counting. Now I said something likeis it more than 100lives? No. Okay,if it had been morethan 100, I'd havesaid, Is it morethan 1,000? andkept going up. ButI brought it down. He'd had 33 pastlives on Earth, andthat reallysurprised me.But it shows thatsome people arenewer than others. As for animal pastlives, now theseare unusual, and wedon't get many ofthem. There is aschool of thoughts,I think, in sort ofspiritualistchurches or inspiritualism, thatonce we've achieveda human form or ahuman rebirth, thenwe stay inthat rebirth. We can't regress,as they would say, back into animalform. I don'tagree. I've had notlots, but quite afew clients overthe years who havehad pastlives as animals.Usually those pastlives are veryshort and a bitbrutish. Usually Ihad one lady whohad very badallergies. Orallergies have gotemotional causes.People think,Well, it's anallergy. I have totaketablets for it.There are alwaysemotional causes toallergies. And we found, shewas in one life arat, which ranacross a road andgot ran over bysome sort of oldcar. In anotherlifetime she was asquirrel. And people were tryingto come and catchthe squirrels todrive them out ofthe forest to killthem. She had tomove further andfurther away fromthe forest. She did survive.I had one lady someyears ago who had aspider phobia, andshe had a past lifeas a squid. Again, you've got to thinkthat none of myclients are weird.None of my clientshave gotpsychiatricproblems. These are allnormal people withjust issues. Sothey're not sort ofcoming to me withthe tongue hangingout and dribbledrops coming downthe chin, Oh, Iwant to talk aboutbeing an animal. It's nothing likethat. These peopleare just bothstandard humanbeings as we arewho have an issue. But thesubconscious takesthem into theseanimal past livesin order to clearthe problem. The lady with thesquid, she was ayoung baby squidwho was sort offorced out of thefamily nest tooearly because therewere a lot ofyoungsters. She was thenswimming around interror, expectingto get eaten at anysecond. And there werethings coming forher and she wasflicking aroundtrying to hide. Shefound eventually asmall sort of cavein a rock. She hid in the cavein the darkness. There were bigfishes coming totry and bite herand grab her at theentrance to thecave, and theycouldn'tget to her.She felt a realsense of reliefuntil she realizedshe wasn't the onlything in that cave. There was somethingbehind her and itwas coming towardsher to eat her.So she managed toescape, although Ithink she lost atentacle in theexperience. But shemanaged to sort ofthen survive andgrow to adult lifein that past life. This does happenoccasionally. Youcould say, well, why did she go intothat past life?Because thesubconscious tookher there, notbecause shethought, oh, I'llbe a squid today.Should viewers ofParanormal Yakkerwant to buy
