Speaker 2:Tell us a little bit about your background, buddy. Well dv, how long have you and I known each other?
Speaker 1:man, it's got to be about 15, maybe north of 15 years, I would say. I would say it's closer to 20, my friend. Okay, buddy, there you all right. You know better than I do, that's good so I would.
Speaker 2:I would say my background is um. I'm a professional salesperson and I have worked in the sales industry. I've been in sales in Orlando for 40 years and have seen Orlando go from a little bitty vacation place in the late 80s to what it has exploded into now and the vast opportunities that are available to everyone. Most of my background has been spent in the B2B arena, helping businesses grow, whether it was through the marketing efforts of working in broadcast or what I do now with Insperity, which is help small businesses succeed.
Speaker 1:You've always been and that's a good summary. You've always, since I've known you man, you've always had that. You know building relationship, consulting approach. You know when you're out you talk about sales and that is a strong characteristics that I've known and that's one reason why you're on the show as well, because you have done right by many of your business clients. You know, I was looking at your website and a little bit about Asperity and it seems like you guys have been around in the HR industry for since 1986, right, correct.
Speaker 2:We are the founders of the PEO industry.
Speaker 1:What is PEO? Explain that Professional.
Speaker 2:Employment Organizations or what is the PEOs, and they are basically outsourced HR platforms. So we will come in and help a company with that HR suite of business, will come in and help a company with that HR suite of business. Everything from HR compliance and employee management to payroll benefits management, performance management, employee growth it's all designed to help businesses run better, grow faster and make more money In today's world. If it's not your core competency, outsource it. And very few people got into business to run the HR side of their business. They had an idea, a spark, that entrepreneurial spirit that said you know what I'm going to go. Do this and they've become successful and they're growing the company. Do this and they've become successful and they're growing the company.
Speaker 2:And if let's just say, for an example, they're an engineer, designing and building and engineering new processes and systems, to be able to do something is what their core competency is based on. That's how they grow their business. It's not making sure that everybody is compliant with government regulations on how I structure my paid time off policy. That's not what you do. What you find more and more is the world becomes more integrated and more complex, that these things eat into a business owner's time. So basically, what we're doing is giving a business owner time back to focus on their core competency.
Speaker 1:And to do what they do best. And I like the word that you said, scotty, when you said outsourcing right, that is so important because let the business owner do what they do best and you come in with your service to take that off their shoulder correct, it's you, they're not.
Speaker 2:They're not HR people. They're not trained to be HR people. We are, but then again, I'm not trained to be an engineer. I can't code, I can't build anything, um, so we do what we do. You focus on what you do. You make money with it.
Speaker 1:So, out of all the services that the company provides, are there two that seem to be more, that stand out, more that business owners are asking, or all of them work together?
Speaker 2:It's an interesting thing that you look at Our world's becoming more and more complex. Ai is everything that you can imagine it to be. It's going to take over the world. If you read anything on any of the journals or any of the posts or podcasts that are in it, ai is going to be the thing. You know what? The most successful thing we provide is Human interaction. We provide a human support team that you can pick up the phone and actually call and talk to someone without having to put in a ticket, without having to wait 48 hours, without having to use a chat bot. Whatever you want to do, you can literally pick up the phone, call somebody and say, hey, I have this challenge or what do you think of this, and actually get communication. The fact that we provide a dedicated service team to everybody is our differentiating factor and it seems to be what's driving our for 30 years. It's what's driven our success is the fact that, no matter how complicated the world gets, one-on-one human interaction seems to be driving everything.
Speaker 1:Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself and you know when you, when you talk about AI, like you just mentioned, it's missing that one component, right the human interaction. It's always.
Speaker 2:It's going to be great, it's a great tool for humans to use, but you'll never replace the human interaction humans to use, but you'll never replace the human interaction Interesting.
Speaker 1:So you kind of mentioned what differentiates yourself from your competition when it comes to that human interaction, because we're in an ever-changing environment when it comes to technology and for you to take a step back and mention that I believe it's probably one of the best services, besides all the other services that your company offers. So did you want to say I'm sorry?
Speaker 2:Technology we have. We combine the state-of-the-art technology. You can't be in our field, in our vertical of HR outsourcing, and not have outstanding technology. If you don't, you will be left on the wayside, because people are technology savvy to the point of it's either easy to use or it's not. And if it's not easy to use, I'm moving on to find something that is. So. Your technology has to be state of the art. We have that, but we combine that technology with the human element.
Speaker 1:Are there any examples? Maybe one example you don't have to give the business name at all, because you've been doing this for a long time that a customer just picked up the phone and called you and said you know, thank you, scott, for for helping us, because it really took a weight off my shoulder. Anything comes to mind, and if it doesn't, that's okay so, yes, one does come to mind.
Speaker 2:I, I just got it right before christmas and the email opened up with wow heading on. The email just said wow, and you know you, you see that and you're like, am I gonna want to read this? And it was a company, um, that had had some unique, unique challenges, that had been doing their HR to the point where the principal had actually built their own HR platform internally. Wow, and she said you know was very honest. She goes I'm pretty, I'm pretty savvy, I'm pretty smart. But I've gotten to the point now where the company has grown that I'm staying awake at 3 am staring at the ceiling thinking about what ifs. And we had told her I said, okay, we can handle this, this, this and this, we'll make this happen, we'll take this off your plate. And the wow was wow, it's everything you told me it would be and more Thank you. And I'm like that's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:It is pretty cool because she started her business. She probably knows everything about the operations and everything that is involved in that business over the many years and found a point where her time was more valuable than having to do what you guys do best. So therefore, hiring you to outsource it, I think that's, uh, that's awesome.
Speaker 2:Well, that's that was the driving point of the call. Nick um, she had built a multi-million dollar business and her spending time it couldn't have been more than a sales brochure. I mean, it's like you know, I gotta get this story and print it. Because she was like I'm wasting time where I could be making money, managing my clients, and I'm thinking about am I compliant with this policy? And I don't even know what this policy means. There's a whole alphabet soup of compliance that business owners have to go through, and she was worrying about where's my exposure, where am I not compliant, rather than focusing on business. And that was the tipping point of the call.
Speaker 1:Well, that's great, Great information for our listeners. I want to, can you please provide your phone number as we wrap up here, your phone number as well as your website for people to get a hold of you.
Speaker 2:Sure, Easiest way to get a hold of me is 407-659-4356. And I'm in sales, so I'm going to repeat it 407-659-4356. Easiest way to communicate with me is scottwith2tsmills at insperity I-N-S-P-E-R-I-T-Ycom. The website, if you want to look up Insperity, is insperitycom. You won't find me specifically there. You can't. I'm on LinkedIn. You can find me anywhere you want, but that will give you information about the company.
Speaker 1:Well, scott, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to kind of share your insight on your successes with Insperity to our listeners and hopefully, again, and hopefully again, we can have you in the back in the near future. Uh, but thank you so much for joining us.
