Tom Hagy for Blue 360 Media

Welcome to the Blue 360 Podcast, our vehicle for sharing with our nation’s law enforcement professionals insights to assist you in better understanding and applying ever-evolving laws governing the vitally important work you do.

Created by veteran legal content producer Tom Hagy, this episode is about the laws, protocols, and practical aspects of search and seizure.

Our guest interviewer is Joseph Bucco, a Municipal Police Lieutenant in New Jersey, a certified police instructor, and a valued member of the Blue 360 Media team. Joe has taught on a variety of topics at police academies across his state. His law enforcement assignments have included positions in his departments’ Detective Bureau, Street Crimes Unit, and an on-loan assignment with a multi-jurisdictional Fugitive Task Force. He received a Master of Arts Degree from Seton Hall University’s Police Graduate Studies Program.

Joe Bucco interviews Joseph L. Giacalone, a retired NYPD Sergeant SDS (Supervisor Detective Squad) who held many prestigious positions during his 20+ year career, most of which was dedicated to conducting and supervising major criminal investigations.

Joe Giacalone was the Executive Officer of the 110th Precinct Detective Squad in Queens and the Commanding Officer of the Bronx Cold Case Squad. He was responsible for managing hundreds of cold case homicides and missing persons cases. He proudly received the distinguished NYPD Medal for Valor. While at the NYPD, he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice with a Specialty in Crime and Deviance from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he currently serves as adjunct professor. Joe also holds a BBA in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University.
