Brian Parton Remembering Don Morris
In this episode, we sit down with Brian Parton, a performer and singer/songwriter known for his pivotal role in the Rockabilly Revival of the early 1990s. Brian’s storied career includes sharing stages with music icons like Jerry Lee Lewis, Blake Shelton, Courtney Barnett, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Jim Dickinson of the Rolling Stones, and Don Williams, among others.
Brian also has an extensive background in voiceover work across cities such as Las Vegas, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Tulsa. This episode is particularly poignant as Brian reflects on his collaboration with the late Don Morris, a revered figure in Oklahoma’s music scene. Morris, known for his work with Tom Skinner's Science Project and hit country artist Martin Delray, left an indelible mark on regional music. Brian shares unreleased gems from a 1989 project with Morris, titled "Red, Hot, and Blue," recorded live in one take on the TU campus.
