The Hidden Struggles of Menopause Healthcare: What Needs to Change

In this episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jennie, a talented maker from East London. I discovered her work on the art trail in Walthamstow, where she showcased pieces on the menopause. Jennie shared her journey of creating art about the menopause, a topic close to her heart due to her own challenging experiences with perimenopause. She emphasized the lack of proper healthcare and support for women going through this phase and highlighted the importance of peer support. Jennie also talked about the lifestyle changes she made, like weightlifting and healthier eating, to cope better. We wrapped up our conversation discussing the representation of menopause in the media and the need for better education and awareness. It was an enlightening and inspiring discussion, shedding light on an often overlooked topic.
