The Mexican fiesta, if you haven't tried that yet, we have harped on that for months, and I need you to go and get some. It's my what is it, Coa? It's one of my favorite. It's her favorite. And you know what else she likes to do? Cry and laugh. She can't just be able to do that. I don't like to cry.
SPEAKER_02I cannot laugh like a normal person. My tear ducks. Soon as I as soon as my ducks.
Welcome to Coffee Talk with a Cajun Mamas. Grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and let's dive into real conversations about life, motherhood, and a little inspiration to brighten your day.
SPEAKER_01Hello and welcome to Coffee Talk with a Cajun Mama. Cajun Mamas. And you left me out. You left me out, friend. Hello and welcome to Coffee Talk with the Cajun Mamas. My name is Sarah O'Pry, and this is my partner in crime, Koa Malensong. We are two Cajun Mamas that love coffee and love talking. So here we are. So welcome to the coffee talk. So welcome to the coffee talk. Well, let's let's thank our friend Hal, the Cajun Lady accent, because what is better than two Cajun ladies? It's three.
SPEAKER_02She's sponsoring all this. She is sponsoring all the genius creation.
SPEAKER_01That is her seasonings are low in sodium and MSG free. If you don't have a seasoning in your house, this is a good place to start. Which I know you do because we have talked about how so much. But it says they say it takes seven times. Stop it, call her in eight. It takes seven times for you to want to purchase something. And I'm telling you, if we haven't had Howl on for seven times yet, which I know we have, maybe not personally, but we have done a sponsorship for her. There's something wrong with you. Statistically. Statistically, you need to buy this seasoning and liquid butter and Cajun chili mix spaghetti. No bit, really. We actually use this in our kitchen and we absolutely love it. The Mexican Fiesta, if you haven't tried that yet, we have harped on that for months, and I need you to go and get some. It's my favorite. What is it, Coa? It's my favorite. It's her favorite. And you know what else she likes to do? Cry and laugh. She can't just laugh like a regular person.
SPEAKER_02I cannot laugh like a normal person. My tear ducks. As soon as I as soon as my ducks.
SPEAKER_01Dang.
SPEAKER_02As soon as they just feel a lot of her.
SPEAKER_01Oh my God. It's ridiculous. It is ridiculous. But I love you for it. And um. Your makeup looks floorless. Thank God. And and it also is also uh water resistant. Thank you, Line Life. But thank you, How the Cajun Lady Accent. You can find her on Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, all the places. Make sure you are watching those cooking videos because she got it going on. Okay. Um, y'all go to how the Cajun Ladyaccent.com and uh y'all hit her up because she's great.
SPEAKER_02Yes, we love you, Hal. Thank you for being our sponsor of all this foolery.
Okay, today we are talking about what's new with the Cajun.
SPEAKER_02What is the what is our newest adventure? It is called Whatnot.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And I was like kind of not too excited about like I was like, man, all these people they're getting their vintage goods off of whatnot, just getting them.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's not the same as going find them in the wild. That's cheating. You know, that's like I didn't want to buy a fairy lamp on eBay because I feel like that's cheating. But then whenever I got discouraged because I've looked everywhere and couldn't find a fairy lamp, I was like, why not? It's in somebody's it was in someone's home.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well loved. Now it's in my home.
SPEAKER_01And it's got a home with me. It does have a home with me. So we have been partaking in Whatnot. And if you don't know, if you don't know what Whatnot is, it is an app that you put on your phone, and it is a live selling app.
SPEAKER_02It's like eBay auctions, but live.
SPEAKER_01Right. And quick. And quick. Like so we do, yeah, 10-15 second uh items. So, like for instance, which I will never get rid of this, but um, this is my uh white enamel coffee pot. Um, we're gonna start the bid, like the bid starts at, I don't know, I would start it at $50. Yeah, yeah. Um, but you're never getting this. So this will not be on one of our whatnot. And then you can bid uh online on the app and get get things that we choose.
SPEAKER_02Really get a bargain for things.
SPEAKER_01And this is not just vintage, this is anything you could possibly think of. This is car parts, this is, I mean, tools, marbles, stamps, the marble community wild. Uh-huh. You better be able to open up those purse strings if you want a nice marble.
SPEAKER_02Man, I wish I just had a uh I was sitting on a collection of marbles.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I could put my kids through college. I know for sure I throw those things away when I see them because the kids are gonna choke on them, you know?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01They were just giving them to the kids back then. That's what they played with.
SPEAKER_02That's what they played with. Marbles. Glass marbles.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know. But anyway, um So yeah, if you don't, if you have, if you don't have the app yet, maybe we need to put our our whatnot invite in the link to this video on YouTube so you can use our use our invite um and get yourself like a little credit. Like if you use our invite link, you'll get some like $15 credit or something. $15 credit. But um it will open you up to a whole new world of shopping and a whole new world of scrolling because you know the auctions are live, so you get to kind of interact with the people and you can ask questions. Um, you can also go look at whatever like their their uh what you call it, like the show, whatever the show has. Yeah, the shop. Yeah, and so all the items will be there. And if you can't watch the show, the uh auction live, you can pre-bid on things. And then if nobody outbids you during the live auction, you get it. Yeah. So yeah, we we we started we started uh watching this and getting a few things here and there, and then y'all know we can't do anything halfway. Um, and so Sarah was like, we should do a whatnot. And I'm like, Oh my god, another thing. Not another thing to do. We don't have time to do this.
SPEAKER_01But we love to shop. You know, we like to go thrifting. We are not going like Koe and I, we're not going to, I don't know, we're not like really going to a whole lot of boutiques, we're not really going to Walmart, hell no. We're not going to Target. We're not doing those things. We go and troll the thrift stores every chance we get. Yeah. And so there's things there that I love that obviously I don't have the room for at my house. So I said, why don't we go and grab some things at the thrift store that we love that we can't keep and share it with others? Because there might be some things you looking for. So this is not a commercial for our whatnot. I we're just kind of letting y'all know what's up with us.
SPEAKER_02What have we been doing? And this is one thing that a new thing that we have been doing, and it's so much fun.
SPEAKER_01It's so much fun.
SPEAKER_02We've been really having fun with it. We do shows like every cut two weeks, and we try to do them on the same day. So, like Wednesday nights um worked for us, and like people are they looking forward to it already, and we're like, oh my gosh, there's a hundred people on here that just want to collect all the old things like us and they love old things.
SPEAKER_01Or they like to see what we
pick, you know, because like we pick things and we're like we hope that they will look good in somebody's house. And recently, like sometimes they'll send us pictures of when they get it, and where they put it, and where they put it, and it just makes my heart so happy because that was just hanging in a lonely antique store for Lord knows how long.
SPEAKER_02Lord only knows, collecting dust, and now it's collecting love, love, and and bringing somebody joy, and I love that.
SPEAKER_01So, um, so we started with this, and actually, we are gonna have a show tonight. So if you um are a vintage lover and you like all things old like us, which I'm guessing you probably do if you've been following us for any amount of time, um, we are gonna have a whatnot show tonight. So I need you to go check it out. We'll put we'll put that referral link in the thing, and uh and you can come and just hang out with us if anything. We give giveaways, we do giveaways just for you hanging out in there. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So what's some of your favorite things we've like collected and and shared so far? We've only been doing this a few weeks.
SPEAKER_01So we've had two whatnot shows. Three, four, yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, by the time this airs, it'll be more.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So my favorite thing? We did a groovy show. That was my favorite. A groovy show. 70s theme show.
SPEAKER_02All avocado green, yellow, harvest gold, harvest gold. That's the color, and then orange. What's the name of the orange? It probably has a name.
SPEAKER_01Oh gosh, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Avocado green, garvis gold.
SPEAKER_01That's the orange. Y'all let us know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, y'all know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_01Like that old orange 70s color. Yeah, that was big. And that's that's all the things that we had. We had those Burrwood wall plaques, we had some Sirocco, we had some uh sconces, we had uh, but what was your favorite thing out of that whole show?
SPEAKER_02Um, I let me think. I liked the wicker trays. Yeah, the serving trays.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh, that was so much fun showing that too. Because, y'all, when we first passed that in front of people's eyes, they didn't want to, they wasn't touching that with a 10-foot bowl. It was some bamboo bamboo trays, like serving trays. And we found four of them, and we had to have them. And so we just knew people had them.
SPEAKER_02They just looked like they belong in Mama's house.
SPEAKER_01Yes, you know, and so we really played that up because at first we showed nobody was biting, and then we were like, okay, but remember when your mama brought you this tray with a little soup on it and a little Gatorade or crackers, coke, or whatever, and because you were sick and then you was watching prices right at your mama's home.
SPEAKER_02Just like that. Exactly. Or, you know, uh it it looked like a breakfast in bed type of tree, you know. The for for the Mother's Day morning that your mama did not really want, but she pretended to like. So paint the picture. We pay and go.
SPEAKER_01And we sold all of our trays, and it made me so happy because now maybe they're gonna do that with their little grandkids, you know. Um, but it's just sharing um and and keeping stuff out of the landfill, y'all. Because you go to Target, you go to Walmart, you pick up these little things that ends up in the tr it ends up in the trash at my house. Yeah. Because I don't care. If I'm tripping over it and you got too much of stuff and it's always all over the floor, gone. Unless I can donate it to the thrift store.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. You know, and then sometimes you see some of your treasures at the thrift store, you're like, I think that was mine.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, probably
so. Hope I don't buy it again, though. You know, might have to have it again. Might have to have it again. Um, but you know, it's just nice to share that with other people because not every time. And one thing that I loved about Woodnot was I can't always be at the thrift store finding treasures. Or we live in Louisiana, there is narry a butter pat.
SPEAKER_02What is wrong with did they not make it this far south?
SPEAKER_01No, they're buying them up. That's what it is. There's too many resellers, and we just added and we just added ourselves to the list. So dang. No butter pats, fairy lamps, forget about it. We've only found one in the wild, and that we didn't even know it was a thing at the time, and you bought it for me for Christmas. Um, so being able to find things on whatnot or like have all the kids and she's got kids and easier access to be able to shop and just watch and have fun and see what they got, see what they found.
SPEAKER_02Have you ever done clothes or anything yet? Because I saw there's some shops that sell clothes. Oh, lots, you know, a lot.
SPEAKER_01Lots of clothes. How easy that would be to ship to people. Yeah. Um, but no, I haven't. Me neither. Probably should though. We we we just scratching the surface of what's on that app. Oh, yeah. Because there's there's the squishy people, and there's the laboo boo people, and there's the candy people. There's people that sell candy, you know. Oh my god. Like there's just everything you can possibly think of is being done on whatnot. Okay. Um, anyway, so we have we have started doing that and we're having a lot of fun with it. So we are. We typically what we do is we gather all things that we can make a theme out of.
SPEAKER_02I love doing themed shows or something, at least a guide, a guideline of what we're doing. Like we did a groovy, we'll do a uh cottage um tour with little heart shelves and little heart-shaped things and croc pieces and stuff. I love I like that vibe. That's my oh, I love that vibe.
SPEAKER_01I like it all. I like a little bit of everything. The marmalade, y'all, that's huge. If you can find some marmalade, oh my god.
SPEAKER_02I didn't even know that what they were called.
SPEAKER_01Little ducks, but yeah, the little duck things. Those are geese or whatever. They are wild about the geese and the heartland stuff. Um, not so much the corral, but for us corral goes, if we find corral, we're picking it up for whatnot because our people love it. Yeah, you know, and we always do our corral in twos. So you get two, one for you, one for your partner.
SPEAKER_02One for your buddy, for y'all to have a coffee date.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that those are probably our highest sellers. Those are the things that go the best for us. Um, and it means a lot to us because that's our thing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we almost we feel like y'all are y'all are wanting a piece of us when y'all get that, you know.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know that, and just like sharing the community that is sitting down with a friend and having coffee. You know, I just think it's special. Yeah, it's so special.
SPEAKER_02It's true.
SPEAKER_01Um, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So y'all know, y'all know, I mean, one of our biggest episodes we've done was all about mama's house. And so y'all already know how we feel about old nostalgic things that remind you of a simpler time or a special memory with your mama or your mom or something. And that's really why we decided to do the whatnot. Because we like when you're sharing an old piece like that that triggers a memory, you're sharing joy, you're sharing a piece of someone's childhood with them, or like we had one of our our guests this past month, I mean, this month, like last week, was uh Molly Clayton, and she was like, This this cup, like this Corel cup, reminds me, I'm gonna cry. She's like, I'm gonna cry. This was my mama's cup, and that's that's what it is. It's just it's connecting, it's connecting.
SPEAKER_01I love that, and um, and so we love to do a lot of that, and it it felt natural for us to do that because we just love the old things, the vintage things, and it gives us a chance to get out of the house and shop and have some fun.
SPEAKER_02I mean, any excuse we can have to go. Oh, I'm sorry, I have to go, I gotta go source, you know, I gotta go source for my people.
Source. But what we typically typically do is we pick a theme, we set it all up, okay? Everything's nice and pretty, the background is nice and pretty for you to see.
SPEAKER_02You do such a good job with that.
SPEAKER_01And then I have so much fun with that. You do great with that. I love it. And then um we take every pictures of everything, we put it up in the shop so you can see what's gonna be in the show, and you can go pre-bid on it, or you can put the little bell on it so when it comes up, it notifies you. Oh, uh, that coffee pot that I really want is coming up right now. They're putting that on right now. So if you're not able to catch the whole show, you can definitely put the bells on just the ones, the items you're interested in, right? They got a big thing.
SPEAKER_02And bookmark future shows.
SPEAKER_01So, like you can put go on and you'll see our shows, and then you bookmark the show so you'll be notified when we on. Um, and then my sister, Lainey, is she kind of helps us out a lot with this. She comes and she loves to play in it too with me. And so she will uh pull up the whatever we're gonna talk about next. She sits in a little chair and we act the fool and show you all what we got. And then uh after the show, we pack and ship it. So Lainey and I get together and we enjoy that process so much because we just get to be together. So it's um and it's connected to the house. So, you know, we can go check it right here. We we enjoy our time for the sister time for us. Yeah, and it's uh it's it's good bonding, and then um, you know, it's just fun to do. We enjoy it so far.
SPEAKER_02And if the time comes where you know we need to slow down or whatever, we'll slow down. Yeah, it's it's whatever, but we're having fun with it right now. Yeah, it's fun. We hope y'all come along on this new journey with us, as y'all do for most things, and we can't tell you how much we appreciate that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, for sure.
SPEAKER_02We we feel the love and support um that y'all give us all the time, even though, even like when there's some people that come watch us on whatnot, and they just just to watch us, you know, they're not interested even in buying, they just watch us, or they'll watch us do our makeup lives, and they don't necessarily even want to buy the makeup, they just want to be around us and listen to and that means that means so much to us so much that you you know you just want to uh hang out and support us, and that's the way that you do
it.
SPEAKER_01Thank y'all so much for hanging out with us. Um, and um don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel.
SPEAKER_02Please, we're getting close to 10,000. We're very close. That's a big milestone for YouTube, huge. Well, for us, you know for us.
SPEAKER_01I don't think we get a play button or anything.
SPEAKER_02No, but I'm just you know, YouTube is a different animal, and like you, you know, we grew pretty quickly on social media, but YouTube is a whole nother thing. So make sure you subscribe and please, it doesn't cost anything to do that. And you know, sharing out our videos and stuff, it it all helps. So thank y'all so much.

SPEAKER_02During crawfish season, um, or even not during crawfish season.
SPEAKER_01Boy, the whole the dip.
SPEAKER_02The dip, yeah, and and the seafood boil in the big pack, like for when you're boiling crawfish, like that's your seasoning right there. Um, or a shrimp. You can do shrimp any time of the year. Yeah, you know, really.
SPEAKER_01With a little bit of that fried batter, you can have fried shrimp anytime. I'm hungry. Salad. I lea salad. I leave fried shrimp salad. That's good right there. Oh, yeah.
