Dr Melanie Oh, Melanie picture on the facial plastic surgeon in Birmingham, Alabama, and have missed my podcast. I had some trouble with my mike, and I couldn't figure out how to, and I just stop and I think that in this day in time, there's just no excuse for it. There's always a way, and there's always a way to figure something out. And when you take the time to figure things out, especially things that matter to you thinks that you feel a very deep need to express to the world. And when you stop them, there's an energy that you lose because at the end of the day, it's really, really about your energy. And over the past few weeks, we have had so many patients that wanted to express and chair there, felt on social media and one of the most profound things that here is feel light. I have more energy, and I wasn't expecting that. There's just no way toe quantify the difference in life that it makes when you feel good about yourself, whether it you finally got a mic toe work her because you did something that you wanted to do, whether it was exercise a face, lift our little boat. It's about valuing and cherishing your knees. And I think that's really what it shows you is that you're important to yourself, and I think that gives you energy. And I think that there is a kindness in a sweetness about women that's just not present anywhere else, Just so giving. I mean, every day I hear stories about, we've been taking care of husbands, their kids there, ex mother in laws and they give up their lives, take care. And we're here on my faith. My God, what an amazing woman! And there's never a bitterness there time and a genuine sire to help. So I think that finding the time to take for yourself is especially important to women, and it makes me so happy to see women that do it. I mean, come in and tell me that they shine, that they feel good, that they're wearing makeup or not wearing that they've gone zip lining or they've done something, brought them closer, who they're supposed to be. No, we don't have an unlimited amount of time. I mean, Kobe Bryant's death and all of it is there just never know and it reminds you, And for those of us that have lost someone suddenly, hey, this constant reminder that we only have a certain amount can be so happy. And it's not even a chore to sit down and really think about what you really want to be when you grow up. What do you really want to do? What are you good at? Like what if other people appreciate out They're all these secrets in every day? You know, Oprah says, Life whispers. I only wish for a whisper Month screams out loud. But when you start paying attention and you follow your energy and you follow the things that make you feel good on this path and you, everything is so much more fun. I'm not perfect at it. But I have really decided we are a tech company. I just got back an Apple store, and I have gotten iPad pros from my staff, and I'm going to teach them and everyone that comes around. Technology can be so frustrating. Thio have all these things you want to share because it would just make it so easy. Someone is interested in something all the information's there. It's just difficult to get to, and it really shouldn't be. I mean, it just shouldn't nice for me, part of what I love about what I do. It's the technology behind it and organizing, realizing the technology, constant influx of ideas like drawing on your pictures and giving them to you. I never list how much, man, but I think that a lot of people underestimate how smart people are. And people that say you should never inject yourself on Instagram because it tells people it's not a big deal totally disagree. And some of my favorite humans say it, and I want in on my head when they talk. But I just can't get that totally disagree because I give more. I just don't think that's the mess. And I don't think there's an action that conveys something. I think that we learned about what we want to learn about. I mean, that's all there is to it. I mean, if there's something we're interested in, I mean, I know just about every washing machine, So if you need a washing machine, give us be queen. Because if you've had a bad watching machine, um, you will research it and you'll figure it out. I'm about to do the same thing for dishwashers. That information that is out there is can be overwhelming, but it's also really amazing. I mean, you want to learn something new, you can learn it and whether it's how to work a mike or best dishwasher or what's best for your face and what can make you look and feel great, taking the time and having a facial, you're such an energy associate ID with getting getting in your group. And when you find yourself getting impatient or upset about all these little things if you stop and just take a deep breath and remember what you love about. I think that helps more than anything because when you're really picky, everything buckshot, every sound. Everything's must be just so much louder to some of us, and it must smell just so much bigger. But it also could be really a good thing. And when you remember and you stay in touch, what you really love it just clear. Only thing I love is my hey, and it has so much to show and so amazing. I mean, I could play on it forever. My screen time pops out and people say, Oh, you're on your phone all the time Bye amount on methadone I'm really, truly following my passion, so excited and happy and energized by the fact that there's so much knowledge to Sima Hand that I can't separate. I can't stop learning how to create anything is to me the creation of something. It's just so exciting. And transformation is so fun and finding more creative ways to do things. Whether it brawling, it's just fun. And I think that the part of being physician and a surgeon is teaching people what we do so that it's not confusing so that they don't get treatments that they don't need or want. I mean, why would you let someone else be in charge, even a physician? I mean, no offense all the grownup doctors out there giving you the power and giving you the control and giving you the knowledge to make the best decisions for you. Really, Our job. I mean, there are so many options. I mean, if you your net bothers you, you can have a multitude of things. You could have a face lift. You could have injections under your neck to try to get rid of the fat where Cabella or you could have close sculpting. That's you know, that's really about where that stop. That's about what the options are. But then looking at the cost of it and laying it out and letting you make those decisions. I mean, I had a patient today, you know, taking care of someone and waiting every day on a transplant list. And, you know, surgery may not be the best option right now. There are all kinds of reasons, but there really upto isis positions and to explain. And I think sometimes it just doesn't happen like that. Like, it just seems like it's Ah, me Tarzan, you, Jane Like it's ah, here's what you need And yeah, all the good news is you're not sick. I mean, when you're sick, it's just a time when you have to give up and you have not give up. But you have to listen. And you you're in a position where you can't really think that you're afraid elective things, so look and feel your best should never feel that way should be the absolute opposite. It should be where you enjoy the process of getting all the information and looking at the costs and looking that downtime and thinking about your schedule and given yourself this perfect window or waiting until you have it so that it feels good to you whole time because it's the process and it's a beautiful process. I really don't think there's anything in the whole world more beautiful than a woman finally realizing who she is and feeling herself like really feeling herself and taking, you know, just being who you were, whether it 10 years ago. There's just something about looking in the mirror and recognizing yourself that gives you back yourself and finding different ways to show that through technology and pictures and videos and just kind of one of those. It's just one of our passion because, you know, I was that, um, Songwriters Festival and Rosemary last weekend. I mean, I love it. I love it there, and one of my very good friends was singing about Someone's dog is not. But when he does may. I was in tears the whole time, and there are I couldn't stop even afterwards, but there are a lot of There's so many sad songs in country music. Look, then you look at them the older ones. You look at their faces and you see, especially when they're singing bad, faceless, like really bad faith. And you say, No wonder everyone's so afraid And I don't even know how people can hear the music. And I really don't know what they can't get off the dogs and seeing about these people that are like icons in this industry that have had these terrible face lifts. I mean, there's really nothing sadder than trying to make somebody look like they did but instead making him look like total free. And I really don't know why they don't write a song like that. I think it would win a Grammy because I don't even know how they go out. I mean, it would. To me, it would be so embarrassing because I would feel so stupid looking so fake and so not like myself. But I think from the world standpoint, you see that and you think, Gosh, that person couldn't have it, couldn't have it go well, can I? But I think there's something about surgery in a small town that it just makes it better, I guess, because they're less of us. So you would know, maybe it's kind of like hair like I like a really small town for here because I think that it justice to off like it. They're not as many people and you can't hide. But I want it to be that way everywhere. No one Isis women to share our stories, to connect with each other and to protect each other like men do. Only, you know, we're nicer and we're just talking about hair of plastic surgery. I just think they're so much power in that. And I think it's women. We stopped connecting with each other when we have kids and there's just so much more. But I think it's so important, and I think we could spare ourselves a lot of grief on a lot of love in a lot of weight. So I'm gonna work on that, and I'm gonna continue to create an environment where you feel really comfortable and where you can share and connect and feel safe and feel like somebody's got your back. Somebody truly cares that you have best experience and that you're the happiest you can possibly be. Just makes for such a happier life. And it keeps you so much who doesn't need well, hope you'll have a great day. And I hope you don't hear the clicking that I'm hearing right now. I think it must be Go do something fun for your
