Bob Plott is a third great grandson of (Johannes) George Plott who first brought the Plott bear hounds to America in the mid-18th century, and he is a great-great nephew of Henry Plott who introduced the breed to the Great Smoky Mountains in the early 1800's.
He has spent most of his professional life working as either a manufacturing executive or a martial arts instructor, although for the last ten years he has been employed in the NASCAR racing industry.
