Speaker 2:Welcome to the Intuitive Marketing Podcast, where we ditch the bro marketing BS and bring you big sister vibes instead. I'm Meg and this is Chelsea.
Speaker 1:Your new biz besties.
Speaker 2:We met on TikTok in 2023. Fast forward to now and we have teamed up here to guide you through the wild world of marketing your business with heart and soul.
Speaker 1:Are you feeling lost or overwhelmed, maybe unsure of your next steps, but you have a big vision of where your coaching, healing, speaking or writing career could be in the next five years, 10 years. Don't worry, we've got your back. We'll help you tap into your intuition, build a brand that lights you up and leverage proven marketing strategies to grow towards a six or even seven-figure business in a way that won't make you cringe.
Speaker 2:We're actually here to help you bring the magic back into your marketing.
Speaker 1:Because marketing should feel good, not gross.
Speaker 2:Grab your favorite drink, get comfy and let's get started.
Speaker 1:So let's be real, we have all been there. You pour your heart and soul into creating this, like killer content. It's filled with education that you feel is really going to connect with your people. You hit that post button and then crickets nothing. You feel like no one's engaging, no one's liking. You feel like you're putting all this work in and there's just no reciprocation on the other side. It's enough to make you want to just chuck your phone out the window and go live in a yurt somewhere and totally burn down your business. But I want you to hold on for a second Before you trade your Wi-Fi in for the wilderness and just totally let go of the business.
Speaker 1:Let's dive into why this might be happening for you and how to turn things around. This is especially relevant for us intuitive entrepreneurs. We're not selling like mass marketed fidget spinners here, right people Like we're talking about specialized magic for a specific soul client. So how do we cut through the noise of everything that's on the internet and attract those exact right people? So today we're going to shake things up a little bit and we're going to explore the power of something that was just downloaded to me this week and what I am calling journey content. So we hear about niche content, we hear about storytelling content. What really landed for me in something that I see people do well and something that I have tried to do, is journey content. So I have used my social media presence to take people on a journey through the last 14 years of being on Instagram, say, and that has allowed me to make multiple pivots. It has allowed me to open group programs and sell out quickly. It has allowed me to hit my goals because I have been taking these people on a journey for a long time. I've been building that relationship. So I want you to think of it like this, instead of just dropping your offer on your audience like a surprise birthday cake which, let's be honest, it can be awkward even if you like cake, right. So just being surprised by something is wait, where's this coming from? I don't understand. So you're going to be taking them on a behind-the-scenes adventure. So that's what we want to think about, because we create these amazing products and people will say to me I spent so much time, I created this awesome ebook, I created this awesome membership, but it's been really slow to get signups. And then I will ask, ask, did you share?
Speaker 1:Along the way of the creation process of this, and oftentimes it is no. So all of a sudden, they just have this great thing in front of them, but they don't understand the value of it because there was no journey behind the scenes. So you're inviting them into your world in journey content. You're showing them your process, you're showing them the struggles that you've had, you're showing them your triumphs and how your offer is magically emerging from it all. So they are seeing you embodied in your work, embodied in whatever it is that you're bringing out into the world and that's really magnetic, that's really attractive to people. This is the other thing. I did a post about this. Currently, when I'm recording this week, it's like flirting with your audience.
Speaker 1:Okay, so you're building that know and trust factor before you even mention your amazing product, your service, whatever it might be, and that's what we need now. We don't need it just unless it's something that they can clearly understand, this is going to solve a problem very quickly. So what we need is like the lead up, and that's what a lot of us intuitive entrepreneurs. We don't have something that we can say okay, you have curly hair and you need your curls to be tighter. Here's a gel for that, right? That's something that's super understandable right away. You can make an ad about that and people are going to get it.
Speaker 1:What we are selling is more nuanced it is. It has different components that people don't understand just from two slides on Instagram, right? So when you're showing the behind the scenes and the journey, they're getting to understand the process, they're getting to feel the energy of the container that you're creating before you even put it out into the world. So this journey concept ties beautifully into the magnetism step of our five pillar process. So, remember, people are truly drawn to authenticity and vulnerability and real life stories.
Speaker 1:So by showcasing your journey, your business journey, your personal journey, whatever it might be, you're not selling a solution, you're creating a connection. Okay, so in a lot of marketing you're going to hear show how you're the solution, show how you're the solution, how you're the solution to their problems, and that is very valuable and that is a component that you do have to have in your marketing strategy. But something that is just as powerful, that I don't hear a lot of people teaching about, because it's hard is create a connection. So, by showcasing your journey, you're going to create connection with your people and they're going to know that you are the person that they need to get this product or service from. So let's just get real for a second.
Speaker 1:I know some of you might be thinking like but, meg, my niche is super specific and won't journey content be too broad. No one wants to know about what I'm doing behind the scenes. My life is so boring. But here's the thing, my friend even within a niche, there is room for relatability. Even within a big brand, there is room for relatability. You can share your struggles with finding the right suppliers for your organic crystal infused skincare line, or the hilarious mishaps that might have happened when you were learning to communicate with houseplants and animals. Those are things that are super relatable to people, where they can then see themselves in your story and then feel connected to your personal brand.
Speaker 1:The key is to find the sweet spot between your unique expertise and the universally human experiences that everyone has. So this is why you will see on Instagram some people using memes Often. Now it's very popular to do something where you have a green screen background and then you have a meme from a movie, like from Bridesmaids or something. It's two actors and people put on the top POV. All the ADHD business owners out there get this or something and those get tons of likes and shares because it's a universally human experience for their clientele, right? So they see themselves. It might have nothing to do with their crystal infused skincare line, but they're showing that human side, as a business owner gets more eyes on their content to get. So how can you really look at who your ideal client is and speak to them in things that are more broad than just your product line or your service?
Speaker 1:This is something myself, for my personal brand, I've been thinking more and more about, because I don't do a ton of that speaking to a specific population, but I have ADHD. I have three sisters that I'm constantly sharing Instagram memes with and stuff, so I've been seeing people do things, create content like that. That then is like highly shareable and I'm like, oh, I have to jump on this because that will show even more of a relatability side to my personal brand. So let's think of some of the ways that do this. You can create this authenticity. You can create this authenticity. You can create this journey for your clients on social media. You can do it through your email. You could do it through your subject, however, it is that you connect with your people.
Speaker 1:The first thing is creating behind the scenes peaks. Show your workspace, show your creative process, show your aha moments. It could be showing how you get out the door with five kids in the morning and then you go to work. Whatever the behind the scenes are, it is not boring. Listen to me, you are not boring. People love the mundane. People want to see how you pick out your shoes in the morning. You don't have to live stream your entire life in order to accomplish this, but show some behind the scenes peeks.
Speaker 1:So the second is vulnerability. Share your challenges, share your doubts, share how you overcame them. People love this. We often think that we have to be so perfect on social media and that's going to be what attracts people, but it's actually not. It's your most vulnerable moments and again, I caveat this with saying that you're not going to share from the wound If you're in the middle of a divorce. Your partner just asked you for a divorce yesterday. That might not be the time to share, but in a few months, when you're feeling more and more healed and you want to share, that is a place to share from your authenticity and call in community and call in connection, because there's other people that are going through very similar, like-minded things.
Speaker 1:The third thing is humor. Don't be afraid to laugh at yourself. Don't be afraid to show, like we said, the little mishaps, things that have gone wrong, things that are funny, whatever, maybe a mistake that you make while you're podcasting or in your writing. I am, I'm not afraid to poke fun at myself. Sometimes people can really relate to that. And then fourth is client wins. Celebrate your client successes. Show, behind the scenes of what you are doing with your clients, a transformation that they're going. Of course it's with their permission.
Speaker 1:An example of this is I was coaching in the functional nutrition academy this week. What I did was I set my phone up on the other side of my computer so it could see me in the Functional Nutrition Academy this week. What I did was I set my phone up on the other side of my computer so it could see me in the back of my computer, and I recorded a little bit while I was coaching, which was great because I got the sound clip from it and I was able to put that on my Instagram stories and it gave people an example of how I coach. It gave people a really good tidbit of I think it was something about like your Instagram bio, and then it gave people also. It showed them oh wait, she could come into my group too and do this potentially. So it was a great way to take them on the journey, show them what I was doing currently that day, but then also help build that authority of oh wait, she does this. I could hire her to do this too, possibly.
Speaker 1:Okay, so, after hearing all that, I want to just quickly come back to how I am using intuition in my personal healing and in the boardroom in our business this week. So I am really leaning in hard on my meditation practice and I know I brought this up in our joint episode with Chelsea. I currently am in a program called Initiation with Sarah Jenks and I went to the in-person retreat last week and we did a ton of visualization and meditation and it was so good and it was this huge reminder to me that I can come back to this practice. I can empty out my energy, I can meditate and I can channel my content. I can. Yes, there needs the strategy and the structure, but my content is so much better and connects and gets so much more engagement when I make space to intuitively be led versus trying to use my logical mind. It's been the holidays are coming, we're trying to get organized for a week off before Thanksgiving and things but I'm really making sure I prioritize this meditation. And the other part of that, too, is also after meditating, whether it's when I take a shower or when the kids go off to school, putting on a playlist of music that really lights me up. It's really helping me get back into my physical body, which then helps me create content from such a more grounded place, which then helps with that magnetism and embodiment parts of our framework, and it just feels like it connects so much better with people.
Speaker 1:So if you are trying to get back to a meditation practice or I just want to know how you're weaving your magic and your intuition and your energy back into your business this week, so reach out to me on Instagram. I would love, love, love to hear about it and we could just talk there, because we need other people who are going to lead in this way, who are going to connect in this way, who are going to run their businesses in this way. When we do, it's going to feel so much better. All right back to content strategy. So let's get rid of that talking into the void feeling and turn up the volume on your engagement.
Speaker 1:So here is a quick breakdown of how you can infuse your content with your magnetic journey vibes. So the first place we want to look is Instagram stories, because those are your like warm, hot leads, the people who they are there for, the behind the scenes. They want to look is Instagram stories because those are your like warm, hot leads, the people who they are there for, the behind the scenes. They want to know what's going on in your business and your life. So it's a perfect way for a quick, like unpolished glimpse of the day you can. What I like to remind people of is think of Instagram stories as a story. Set it up, so it is breakfast, lunch and dinner timing Timing-wise. You can set an alarm on your phone to remind you. People also really like recognizing consistency. So if every day, you start your stories with a selfie of yourself and then maybe you tell them what you're doing for the day, it really helps build that journey. You can tie it back to your business, but you want them to be scrolling through the stories and recognize your face to your business. But you want them to be scrolling through the stories and recognize your face, recognize your brand, have an expectation of what is coming next.
Speaker 1:Often, when I was in my life coach and spiritual coach business, I would post a picture of me having my coffee and then I would post my journal or cards that I was pulling and people really loved that. So that had nothing to do. I wasn't selling anybody directly there, but then when I did open my programs, people knew, wow, she is embodied in this work because I'm seeing this every single day. So another way is to use reels. You can use trending audio to add a fun, relatable spin to it, but you can create a reel just on your journey. So it could be like POV, running a spiritual business for the last 10 years and I'm finally had my first 10 K month or something like that. It doesn't have to be a direct call to action that you're selling anything. You're again. You're just embodying it and you're magnetizing them by showing them I'm a leader, I am embodied in this work and I am having success and just showcasing that in something like a reel, which does usually get more visibility than just a regular post.
Speaker 1:Another great way is to use Instagram lives, tiktok live, going live, hopping on and chatting with your audience in real time. So answer questions or share insights, let your personality shine, because people feel really connected to that right they feel connected to, they want to have that conversation. It's much easier to have that conversation, get engagement, when you are live on Instagram or Facebook or wherever you do go live. People really love watching that. Whether you're putting on makeup or you could be making your coffee, whatever it is, they feel like they're in the kitchen with you and they want to have a conversation. So that really ups your engagement as well.
Speaker 1:And then, last but not least, is something like a blog post or sub stack Like this is a place. That is a lot. It could be a YouTube video long form content where you can really dive deep into your process, your philosophy and the why behind your work. So many people have a why, and this was another thing I said in our coaching call recently. People were talking about how they weren't getting much engagement and I they were telling me their why, but I kept going deeper.
Speaker 1:And a good way to put your finger on the pulse of your why is to think about your industry and think about the things that you hate, the things that, like, really get you mad and the contra not controversial, but like in the way of trying to just cause controversy, but like. Something that makes me really mad in the marketing industry is that people focus so much on just virality and growth, and that makes me feel super passionate, because you can have a six figure business with a thousand people on Instagram. It does not matter. So it's more about pouring into whoever who is there. Growth is an important part of a strategy, but it's not the end, all be all and it doesn't mean that you're going to make money. So when I do posts about that and I come from this impassioned place it really connects with people.
Speaker 1:Again, I was in the Functional Nutrition Academy, so we were talking about nutrition and I then saw one of the members go and make a post about all the things that she saw in her industry that day that she hated, and the post was getting a lot of traction. It was really good, because people we are a lot of. Our content is just boring, because we're trying to appease everybody and that doesn't make people emotional enough to take action, to like it, to make a comment. So really dive in your long form content to like why you feel certain ways about certain things, and then you can take pieces of that and put it in your short form content and you're going to just see. It's going to connect with people. You're going to elicit a response from them, and sometimes it will be people who don't agree with you. And how can you create safety in your nervous system to settle into that and say I am an expert in this, I know this and it's okay that people don't agree with me. This is going to get me in front of more people. It's going to get more people engaged, and that's really what my ultimate goal is.
Speaker 1:So take them on the journey, take them on the experience of what you are doing, what you were embodied in, and the other part of being authentic and transparent in your journey is that you are also allowed to change too. So you could say, a few years ago I used to share this and now I don't believe that anymore. I changed my mind. I'm taking you on this journey of me becoming the most connected version of myself, or however it is the language that you use. People really also can relate to that too. I think we see so much of an example online of that. You have to be the same as you were five years ago, and that's simply not true. It's just not even possible, and people want to see people that are willing to show up and change and evolve, and that is something that's really magnetic. All right, so that is a wrap.
Speaker 1:On another episode of the Intuitive Marketing Podcast, I want you to remember that you are a magnet for your dream clients. By sharing your journey authentically and embracing the power of your intuition, you're going to attract soul-aligned people who are ready to say heck yes to the magic that you have to offer them. So I would love for you to tune in next week when Chelsea and I are gonna be talking about how to create a vision and strategy for your business in the new year. It's gonna be so good and it is our last episode of this season of the podcast, which has been so exciting to produce, to do and get out there for you. We're getting such great feedback and if you have anything specific that you want to see in the upcoming season, please let us know and we would love to dive into that and just create really good content for you. So have a great day. We will talk to you soon.
