Jeremiah chapters 32-34: Jeremiah is in prison for prophesying the truth to the king. God tells Jeremiah to buy a field as a sign of hope for the future. God promises to make a permanent covenant with His people and bring health, peace, and forgiveness. The ruling class in Jerusalem repents of their sins but later re-enslave the people they had freed. We are called to love God and others, treating them with respect and not enslaving or mistreating them.

Even in difficult times, we can have hope for the future.

We should not enslave or mistreat others, but instead love and respect them.
Repentance requires true change and not going back to our old ways.
