The Further Education Sector is the mainstay of vocational education within England, training students from 16 years old and providing the basis for long and successful careers within construction and other vocations. It is often misunderstood, but it is a sector that is asking for active employer engagement to inform the direction and content of training courses and to support its students into quality and valuable careers.
Oliver Symons, Principal of Moulton College, gives a masterclass on the services that FE Colleges can provide and talks through the ways that colleges support and nurture their students. He describes how employers can support their local colleges, enhancing not only their own resources and reputations, but also that of their local communities. Ollie describes how colleges have had to focus exclusively on the value add elements of their provision, and that the three way partnership is needed, now more than ever, if students and employers are going to have the skills and attitude needed to support the construction sector.
