The Building Safety Act continues to impact our construction sector as companies and clients further understand their roles in securing the safety of their buildings and the competence of their organisations, their staff and their supply chains. James Butcher, Director for Strategy and Operations at the National Federation of Builders has been explaining the consequences of the Act to members of the NFB and hearing first-hand of the changing culture within the industry. James talks with Mark about the changes that the Act requires and the key elements that every business, designer and contractor needs to understand if they are to work within the law and professionalise the industry. James also reminds us of the loss of life and the long term injuries that caused the creation of the Act and failures within construction that the Act aims to make much more unlikely in the future, to safeguard our customers where our industry has previously failed.
