The construction industry has hundreds of trade bodies, each representing a slice of the industry and each having to demonstrate value to its members. The Building Engineering Services Association is one of these, but it also acts as the focal point for leadership and standard setting within the building services sector. David Frise is their Chief Executive, and he is driving their focus on quality and competence within membership and the wider industry. David talks about the role of trade bodies and the routes to getting your messages out into the wider industry through collaboration and adherence to standards.
Listen to this podcast if you would like to understand the role of trade federations within construction and the effect that the Grenfell tragedy will continue to have on the sector as companies are found not to comply with the new legislation. Listen too if you need to understand what a competent organisation within the Building Regulations may look like and how their trade associations can support, change, but ultimately validate or not each individual business.
