The solar sector can deliver the lowest levelised cost of energy of any form of energy generation to the grid. Government commissioned the Solar Road Map, which is the culmination of the Solar Taskforce’s work, a joint industry and Government initiative to identify the opportunities and the challenges to meet 55GW of capacity by 2030.
Liz Cammack is one of the industry’s titans. She is Vice President for sales, and global advisor for Segen, she is the winner of Women in Energy 2024 and a Director of the UK’s solar trade association, SEUK. Liz chaired one of the four groups within the taskforce, looking at the supply chain to identify the opportunities and the challenges to overcome and support the UK elements.
Liz talks about the challenges of on-shoring manufacture in an uncertain world, the issues of modern slavery in the sector and encouraging innovation. She is hugely optimistic about the future, believing that the industry can become one of the UK’s world leading sectors.
