Good morning, good afternoon, good thing. I checked my calendar at home. I completely forgot about this. I was just going in to put my appointments on the written calendar for my wife you know that's how we communicate through a calendar and I saw, hey shit, I got a pack of red meat. I checked my phone. I forgot to put it in here, because the phone is designed to remind me of everything.
Speaker 2:I gave you a whole list of all the meetings for next year. Sam put it together for you before she left, did she like Put it in your phone? Yeah, we can do that. Folks. A whole list of all the meetings for next year, sam put it together for you before she left. Put it in your phone. Yeah, we can do that. Go ahead, that's what.
Speaker 1:I do Want me to do it, I can do it. Oh, a recurring meeting, recurring calendar event, a recurring calendar event, that's what I do First Tuesday of the month. It goes off the day before and then like an hour before. Yeah, that's what I need. I'll have to figure that out. I got a coffee right now, like follow up should use it as a photo. All right. Motion to approve the minutes. Yeah, all right. Second Second All in favor? Aye, aye, all right, nobody's here. Old business Rental property.
Speaker 2:I just wanted to give you an update. Things are going well. You guys have seen the pictures I've been sending you. Yeah, it looks excellent. Yeah, I know the work's coming along. Just a couple of minor things left to do. I want to replace one light fixture upstairs. I need to put the staircase railing back on and get a new fridge. The other fridge is kind of you know, God knows how long it's been in there. I took a look at it and it's officially the eighth day. That's tight. So besides that, after that we can get out to rent out. I did reach out to Ted I'm still waiting to get back on his answer and what he recommends for a water-free procedure. Okay, but we really should look at setting what you guys want to do for a rent number and you can vote on that next month. You know that figure, it's a two bedroom two bath.
Speaker 2:Two bedrooms, one bath.
Speaker 1:One bath, that's great. Detached garage, detached Big garage With spiders, which yep.
Speaker 2:I do have an exterminator going in once a quarter just to take a look at everything. Give it a nice ground treatment to keep bugs away. So far, so good. Plenty of land and the town cuts the grass.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's going to be a good deal for somebody, but I think we should post it competitively.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we'd love to redo the porch out front, but that's a whole other can of worms. Everything on the living space is all updated. It works, yes, much better than it was. I still can't get over the basement, mm-mm. Yeah, the basement will always look great, it is. It's immaculate. It's part of the house. Yeah, and we replaced that water heater back in January of 23,. It went so, so that's basically brand new as well. Yeah, so everything's in great shape over there.
Speaker 1:All right, so we have to peep it.
Speaker 2:Yep that all right so we compete, that yep mr people, next thing we have, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1:What are you looking at the time? What you know as far as that? Being ready for rent.
Speaker 2:I can have it ready, honestly, by January. Okay, I'll not matter of. You know which one I want to get back from Ted I can have it ready honestly, by January.
Speaker 1:Okay, I'll also, as a matter of you know, I want to hear back from Ted.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's the big thing, yeah, and us to officially vote so we can middle of January, once we set the rates at the next meeting, once we set the rates now. I'd rather, I think, just hear from Ted. I would, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:I would agree, yeah, yeah, and then that way at the January meeting which is scheduled for.
Speaker 2:Tuesday January 7th.
Speaker 1:Alright, hopefully by Tuesday January 7th we can set it.
Speaker 2:I feel like January is going to be in a month. That's crazy. Yeah, nobody's been there since May. So, but it took a while to get the money that we had to do, yeah, and then it took time, obviously, to do the replacement. Yeah, but it's ready, awesome. And if you guys want to take a tour through it whenever you're ready, just give me a call. I can take you down there and get a real-life view of it. You know, yeah, that's an old house but it looks good over the years. You know, with Chris, with all the work between what Liz did and what I've taken over, when she's done, we've resided the house, we've resided the garage, roofed it, roofed it Windows, yeah, I mean. So it's a lot of work we've done over the years, yeah, all right. Moving on Clark Softball Field, our money was approved at town meeting so we're looking at, after the first of the year, going out to bid officially and we'll get that going.
Speaker 2:Just a quick update on the Bettencourt field we did look at. I spoke to a couple of people about putting some seed down. We spoke about it at the last meeting but with the lack of rain we were having and also we were turning the water off. We held off. We're going to somehow have to look at it. Do we want to close that field down in the spring and go from there? I did have to speak to the Giants again as we went through. They wore cracks on the field, you know so.
Speaker 2:They had to play hard, so yeah, the team did win the Super Bowl, they did 97.
Speaker 1:Oh, okay, well, it's amazing that the three of them made it to the Super Bowl being in Division 1, where they probably belong in Division 3. By numbers, right, I'll tell you that program just continues to run circles around the towns around us.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they're pretty intense watching the practice around us. Yeah, pretty intense watching the practice. Pretty good. Yeah, you're nice job. And the last thing we have on the agenda for old businesses on Liberty playground I did give a report for you guys. If they look at, over the next few days I did have the playgrounds inspected. Okay, again it comes down to. We spoke last time about the decks. Those have to be really replaced at both sites, not all the pieces, but the manufacturer and the licensors say if you're gonna do one, you might as well do it all for those decks. That's when we have to start. There are a couple other things that can be done over time, but the decks are something you really have to look at. I'm waiting on the cost of metal. I just sent that out today to get that estimate, but again, the estimate for Liberty was around $18,000 for those deck pieces.
Speaker 1:I don't understand why they can't be removed or redipped, painted whatever, and then put back on.
Speaker 2:Some pieces could. Some are so worn down to the metal that they said you just have to take the whole piece off.
Speaker 1:Tell them to leave the metal with us If they do it. You know what I'm saying? Because I just don't. It doesn't make any sense to me why they can't be replaced. I don't want to get. I don't want to get what's the word I'm looking for In the weeds? Okay, in the weeds, that's a problem. I know what you mean. You know, like taking advantage.
Speaker 2:Gouge Taking advantage of it. I mean everything else, I mean playground equipment is unbelievably how expensive it is. We replaced a slide that had a big hole in it about a year and a half ago, two years ago. By the time you got the slide in, you had it installed. It cost almost $10,000. I know it's a big deal.
Speaker 1:They have a small market.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and each company has their own stuff that only fits on their equipment, so they know they have it.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So, but I'll look at a few different options and we'll continue, but just a wink of to lay it out, we're not going to really use much at this time. I always have to use all caps. Yeah, and that is it for old business. Awesome, can't read it, but it's a good business idea.
Speaker 1:A little side hustle, we'll re-hip this deal. Alright, what else do we got?
Speaker 2:Next thing? Just one thing on new business. It's always a quick meeting, as you know, in December. Just approval of the commission meeting dates for next year. Sammy put together this list for us. Yeah and uh, take a look. Hey, who is sammy? Sammy is away on vacation. She uh went to his family down in pennsylvania and then came back on thursday oh hence, oh yeah, been a while to see you.
Speaker 1:I know Hence, oh yeah.
Speaker 2:Been a while to see you, aren't you? I know Been a while. I think this looks pretty fine to me. I'll make a motion to approve the dates. Yep.
Speaker 1:Yeah, any problem. No, no, I mean my schedule is sitting there. I mean she should be good with it. Well, yeah, we go, all right.
Speaker 2:Can you see that, david, david, okay, open them all in your phone.
Speaker 1:There's got to be a way that we can do that right. We can scan it. Yeah, scan it, wouldn't it like she has our e-mail?
Speaker 2:She can type it in iPhone email send up account. That's what we do at home, so we know what's going on.
Speaker 1:What do you do? Go through your email. Yeah, I'll get it over to you.
Speaker 2:I'll send it to you. Go over for dinner tomorrow night. I'll get your whole phone set up.
Speaker 1:I get too many emails out of this. Try doing bananas no, it's all spam and stuff. No, this is all what people I do business with.
Speaker 2:Email gives you an option to add to calendar and it goes right to your calendar.
Speaker 1:What it goes right to your calendar. You'll get an email with all these dates and you can just say add to calendar, add to calendar, add to calendar. It shoots right to your a calendar. So the first Tuesday of every month I get this. Yeah, I'll just do this. Edit. So it goes to the family. I'll make another one.
Speaker 2:I sent you one for the 31st For you In your inbox For a dollar.
Speaker 1:This is fun, good learning You're doing great.
Speaker 2:Chris, I was just waiting for you to hit that hammer.
Speaker 1:Yeah, poor Michael wants to go.
Speaker 2:Nothing left, really, just your Commissioner's report and my report, and we are done.
Speaker 1:I do not have anything to report. Can we document that we can left really just your commissioners reports of our report. We're done. I do not have anything to report. Can we talk about that? First time I'm up.
Speaker 2:December's a quiet month.
Speaker 1:I'll just note that I was down here two weekends ago when they would rock high racing was down here. The place was mobbed and very vibrant and it was nice to see. It. Was a crappy ass day out. It was awful. That's why I didn't stop and get out and walk around. But the whole grove was mobbed with people and you couldn't find a spot and they did a great job cleaning up on time. We haven't had a problem with them at all.
Speaker 2:No, just one time they did out one, but they, yeah, they took care of it. That was it yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:No, they're a great group to work with. Yeah, I mean, I saw license plates from well connecticut, new hampshire, maine, you know new england but new y York. I saw my sense place for a long time he said about 350 riders.
Speaker 2:Just a couple of quick updates on my end for you guys. Our daycare license renewal actually got approved the day after our last meeting. So we're good at Liberty for the next two years and we have our next license renewal for Merrill in April. New permit applications for next year will be going out next week. Just I hold off so people aren't trying to get them into a, you know. Except they're still in January.
Speaker 2:Christmas tree gazebo lighting is this Saturday from 3 or 4.30. Basketball practice started last night and we'll be continuing all the way through up until Christmas break and then we'll start games on January 11th, that time of the year. That time of the year we also have Santa's Calling. Next Wednesday night. Santa's going to be making some calls to kids in the community between 6 and 8 o'clock. That's so cool, yep. And the last thing is our Celtics tickets are going to be going on sale pretty soon. We have 70 available tickets for the community to purchase. The game is set for Friday, february 28th, against the Cavaliers. We guessed right again this year. Last year we guessed the Timberwolves, who worked out great. And this year it's the Saturday. Friday, oh, friday.
Speaker 1:Friday, the 28th of February Of February. Yep, thank you Is that the end of school vacation. No, it's the week after, the week after yeah, friday night, friday night.
Speaker 2:And just word of warning, the. Celtics tickets went up. That's because they won last year. Oh, of course they did. And those rings they gave away. They'll pay for it also now. Yeah, and I hope everybody has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Same to you, that's it for me.
Speaker 1:Motion to adjourn. Does Michael have anything to add Other?
Speaker 2:than that, I want to get that party in. It's cool Motion to be made and seconded.
Speaker 1:All in favor. Yes, aye, aye.
