All right, good evening. Call the meeting to order at 7 pm. Inform the public that we are being both broadcast live and recorded by the Raytheon Journal and I would ask those in the audience with us to join us in the pledge, please. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you, I will entertain a motion to approve both the regular session and executive session minutes from February 4th, with the executive session minutes being withheld at this time.
Speaker 1:Motion to accept the minutes as printed. Second All in favor. Aye, that is approved unanimously Department heads up by your chief Ryan.
Speaker 3:Let's have it with the chief. This is the report for the fire department for January of 2025. We did 82 fire incident calls, 285 medicals and 203 miscellaneous fire inspection inspectional service calls. Last year at this time we were at 311 calls. This year, in 2025, we were at 373, for 62 over, which is quite remarkable. Been pretty busy run pace for a big one, so I have nothing else thanks, miss Riley no questions, chief, just as always.
Speaker 2:Thank you and the members of your department everything you do.
Speaker 3:Thank you, thank you no questions Chief.
Speaker 4:Thank you, Thank you.
Speaker 1:Thanks, Chief. Appointments this evening none. No hearings this evening All in business. Ms Riley, I have none. Mr Collins, I have no. All right New business. We have a request from Bristol County Mosquito Control to conduct their annual aerial larvacide spraying.
Speaker 2:They are predicting it to be an April weather. Committing. What is the boys?
Speaker 1:pleasure. Motion to approve. Approved unanimously any other new business Mr Riley, mr Collins, all right town administrators report.
Speaker 4:Mr Barnes, yes. First I'd like to thank the highway for their activities related to snow removal. We've had a few storms, it's been a more active year than in several years and, in spite of labor shortages, I think they've done rather well. I should also state that we now have a new arrangement for the town hall, coa and library and I think that's been working well. We've been using some of their people who do the snow removal to do that, so that's been working well as well. By this Thursday, we will have submitted an updated action plan as required by the new regulations for the MBTA communities act. All that's really the big thing that's going to say is we're going to town meeting to vote on that, which town meeting? Be? May 19th and finally, I will be putting on next week's agenda a date when we will close the May 19th warrant, which will be at least a month before the town meeting no questions just echo what mr Bour Barnes said.
Speaker 2:as far as the snow removal, I think I heard that this year we've had more snow than the last two years combined.
Speaker 1:So it has been a challenge, I'm sure, and our highway department's done a great job I've done. Yeah, I would agree. Thank you both. All right, selectors report, Ms Riley.
Speaker 2:Just a couple things. I know there's been a couple of questions and we did receive notice about national grid is doing a job from Somerset to the Bridgewater real at real real, real reliability, easy for me to say project and it started actually last summer and I think it's supposed to continue, possibly through 2030.
Speaker 2:Questions, comments and concerns can be directed to a phone number 781-236-6286. It's a multiyear project to replace existing structures along an approximately 20-mile corridor with new, high-duty galvanized steel structures. I guess there was some notice of trucks in town, so that's what that has to do with. Last week I talked about all the awesome things going on at our senior center. Another really hot spot for activity in town is our Renium Public Library. You can check out their website for all of their activities.
Speaker 2:They always have events and programs going on. Just a couple of the things on Saturday they have things for toddlers, for children, for adults and everybody in between. They have on Saturday a chocolate tasting for adults on Saturday from 11 to 12. See, if you don't get enough chocolates for Valentine's Day, you have an option here, but you do need to register in advance. And then they have an employment workshop with career consultant Gary G, focusing on resume writing on Thursday February 20th and then a follow-up on March 6th with learning about writing cover letters. They have something on the art of paper quilling on Thursday February 27th All kinds of great activities going on at our RENAM library, so check out their website if you're looking for something to do.
Speaker 1:Thank you, I have nothing new to report. We already covered the snowstorm. Just a reminder for folks that Town Hall is closed on Monday for the holiday and we wish kids a good school vacation. All right Correspondents. We have one item from Evelyn Brown on Laura Lane. She has interest in joining the cultural council as an associate member and I would entertain a motion to forward to the cultural council for their review that's a council in aging oh, I'm sorry. Yes, I apologize. So we're forward that to the council in aging.
Speaker 2:Thank you motion.
Speaker 1:I'll second that to the council and agent. Thank you, that's the motion.
Speaker 2:I'll second that motion All in favor Aye.
Speaker 1:That is approved. We have no members of the press with us. Emergency business Ms Riley. I have none, Mr Collins. Nope Citizens. May I have the input? Okay, Performance of the administrative duties, Ms Riley.
Speaker 2:Just a report that I've reviewed and signed up on the town of Rain name. Invoice and payroll warrants dated today, february 11th 2025 you.
Speaker 1:With nothing else before us, I'll entertain a motion for adjournment.
Speaker 2:I will make that motion second all in favor.
Speaker 1:Aye, we are adjourned. Have a good evening.
