LTL Shipping Before and After MyCarrier: A Real Customer Breakdown
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On this episode of Ship Talkers, host Bobby Russell sits down with Roberta Curtin, Office Manager at Allstate Rubber, a family owned flooring manufacturer and distributor based in Dalton, Georgia, the flooring capital of the US, founded in 1956 and now run by its second generation.
Roberta has been with Allstate Rubber for nine years and was there for the early rollout of MyCarrier, becoming a paying customer about three years in after realizing she could never go back to her old process. She shares what shipping looked like before MyCarrier (juggling five or six carrier websites just to build a quote), how dock times dropped to about 30 seconds once bills of lading came pre-loaded with pro numbers, and how giving her customer service team direct visibility into shipment status cut down on internal back-and-forth.
She also walks through her favorite features, including the Address Book for saving accessorials like liftgates, limited access, and government or school site fees, and Freight Assist for flagging known accessorials right on the quote screen. Roberta talks candidly about the shift from constant website hopping to having everything centralized on one page, how easy MyCarrier was to teach to new team members, and why real, responsive customer support has kept her a fan of the platform for years.
Bobby also surprises Roberta by turning on Invoice Hub live during the episode, MyCarrier's automated invoice matching tool, after learning she was still manually reconciling invoices by hand with a folder of paper bills of lading.
If you're an LTL shipper still bouncing between carrier websites, managing invoices on paper, or wondering what features you might be missing, this episode is packed with practical, real-world perspective from someone who has used the tool from the ground up.
