Designing in 5D
Thank you for joining and welcome to "Designing in 5D," the interior design podcast where we deep dive into the creativity and logic of transforming spaces. Our journey together transcends the conventional, exploring not just the how, but the why behind creating environments that inspire and uplift spaces. We will discuss how using the EED Process will protect your budget. With each episode, we will navigate through one or all of my five steps of Designing in 5D.
Designing in 5D
Episode 85: Is Your Home Working Against You?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We try to fix our lives with schedules, systems, routines, planners, apps, and all the things.
But sometimes the problem is not your planner.
Sometimes the problem is that your home is quietly working against the way you actually live.
In this episode of Designing in 5D, Jodi talks about how your home affects your energy, your routines, your mood, and the way you move through your day. From morning coffee and journaling to kitchen flow, storage, rest, function, clutter, and emotional alignment, this episode is about looking at your space honestly and asking: is this home supporting who I am now, or is it still set up for who I used to be?
This is not about making your home perfect.
It is about noticing the friction.
Where do you feel at ease?
Where do your shoulders tighten?
Where are you constantly adjusting, digging, shifting, or working around a space that no longer makes sense?
Sometimes you need a renovation.
Sometimes you need realignment.
And sometimes the first step is simply understanding what your home is asking from you every single day.
If your home feels like one more thing pulling energy from you, this episode will help you start seeing where the real problem may be — and what needs to shift so your space can support your next chapter.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
- Why your home is either supporting you or draining you
- How ease, flow, rest, function, and emotion show up in real life
- Why familiar does not always mean functional
- How to spot the daily friction you may have normalized
- Why your home should reflect who you are now, not who you used to be
- Why living well starts with alignment, not more stuff
