Episode 8 | DJ Konkrete & Solid Ent | Using Faith to Go All In and Build a Brand from Scratch

In episode 8 we speak with DJ Konkrete who is the owner and founder of Solid Ent a mobile DJ and Equipment Rental business here in Charlotte, NC. During our  discussion, we get to know Konkrete in his early life in Alabama growing up in the greater Birmingham area.

Konkrete speaks tells us about how is childhood influenced the music he listened to as an adolescent which he likes to experiment with in his DJ curation, dabbling in genres such as country music. His influence from his parents and siblings led him to have a strong faith and relationship with god which he relies on as he walks his career path.

Konkrete explains how he established his foundation as an adult by working in Concrete which is where is DJ name comes from. He made an explicit choice to pick up a hobby after being dissatisfied with working in concrete during the pandemic  and ultimately made the decision to courageously quit his job in concrete to become full-time entrepreneur as a DJ here in Charlotte.

We talk about forming relationships with DJs and promoters as a beginner DJ as well as some of the DJs who have mentored him and helped him out along the way.

We also talk about some of the venues he has worked at so far and some that he wants to work at in the future. In addition to venues, we also talk about the Pulse Experience which is a new festival for independent artist and art that was recently hosted here in Charlotte. We also talk about him DJing for Mad Miles run club, a local run group that is blowing up across the country, which originated here in Charlotte, NC.

Lastly, he takes time to explain how he manages he equipment rental service and how it has provided an additional source of revenue that really supplements his DJ performances.
