Our guest today on the podcast is alt-country band Wednesday. The five-piece from Asheville, North Carolina, fuse fuzzed-out southern indie rock with alt-country, all anchored by front-woman Karly Hartzman’s witty yet gut-punching lyricism. Following the breakout success of their 2023 record Rat Saw God, the band return this week with their new album Bleeds, a collection Hartzman calls the most Wednesday album yet. In today’s episode, we’re joined by Karly to chat about the making of Bleeds, what it’s like following up their breakthrough record Rat Saw God, and how honesty has always shaped her songwriting.
