Welcome to Anka Ascension Animals, a space where spirit meets instinct and the animal world becomes a mirror for our evolution. I am Cass, your guide through these transmissions, where we explore animals not just as symbols, but as living intelligence that teaches us how to move, feel, survive, and ascend in a human body. Now each animal carries a frequency, a rhythm, a way of being. And when one appears, it is never random. It's actually an invitation. Now we are going to be going over hair. It seems right. We just spoke about the rabbit spirit. Now, hair energy, it enters fast, but it doesn't stay chaotic. It actually teaches us something deeper that speed means nothing without timing. And right now, with the energy of Ostara still integrating from a few weeks ago, and Easter is approaching as I record this. Easter will be coming up. Hair shows up as a seasonal messenger. And I can honestly say, I do not remember ever seeing a hare in real life. But I've always known of them through stories, through symbols, through spring decorations. Now, one of the first stories I remember is the tortoise and the hare. The hair runs fast. Super confident, almost too confident, and somehow the tortoise wins. Which honestly makes me laugh a little because I own a tortoise. So maybe I've always been aligned with the true winner energy, right? Now, in my early twenties, I also had a book that was dedicated to African folklore, and it included a hair story. Now I remember how clever the hair was, not just fast, but aware. And I actually went and found that book again. And I want to bring in that story that carries the true spirit of hair energy. And this is going to be in a tone that is inspired by Southern African traditions. So we are going to be respectful about retelling this story. Bringing in the story that carries hair energy. In many African traditions, the hair is not just fast. He is clever, observant, and deeply aware of human nature. There is a story told in different forms across regions about hare and the well of wisdom. Now during a time of great drought, all the animals gathered around a deep well. A well said to hold water and wisdom. But the well was guarded. And the rule was very clear. Only those who approached with patience and respect would receive what they needed. The larger animals, they stepped forward first. The elephant pushed forward, demanding water. The lion tried to claim dominance. The hyena attempted to trick the guard through force and even intimidation. And each one failed. The well did not respond to power. Hare watched quietly from a distance. Instead of rushing forward, Hare studied the rhythm of the well, the way the wind moved, the way the guard shifted, the timing of when the water seemed to rise, and when the moment was right. Hare approached softly, not with force, also not with fear, but with awareness. Hare spoke gently. He waited. He listened and the well responded. The water rose and Hare was able to drink. Not because he was the strongest. Not because he was the fastest. But because he understood something the others did not. Wisdom does not respond to force. It responds to timing and presence. And from that day on, hair was not just known as quick, but as wise. Now this story matters because the version of hair energy gives us something deeper than the trickster stereotype. Because hair isn't just chaos and speed, but precision. And hair is not deception, but observation. And hair isn't about rushing into something but right timing. So you can even think of it as hair did not win because he was fast. And the story with the hair and the tortoise, I feel I'm not sure where that story actually originates from, but the Americanized version makes it seem like he lost because he was too fast. But this story clarifies that he actually won because he knew when to move. He knew how to use how fast. So the hare and the tortoise, they were never opposites, but maybe they were both teaching timing in very different ways. And that is what I love about storytelling, about different cultures and even religions or perspectives coming together and looking at the entire picture of something, right? Now there's also a lot of seasonal imagery about hairs, springtime, fields with hairs in them, and the ongoing question: is it a rabbit or a hare in the Ostara story? You tell me. Now, let's get into the real symbolism of hair. Hairs and rabbits are often confused. Hence why we're so confused. Which was it for the Ostara story? But they are not the same animal. Here's how hairs are different. They are larger and have longer bodies and much longer ears, often with black tips. They are built for speed and endurance. They are also born fully furred with open eyes, called leverets, and they do not live in burrows like rabbits. They live above ground in a shallow nest, and those nests can be called forms. Now rabbits, they are loving being in burrows, so again, underground. They're seen as more nurturing and community. Where hairs, you notice they're more independent, they're alert, and they're all about survival. So hair energy is I am aware and I move when it is time. Now, hair does not just represent speed, as that story pointed out, right? It represents timing, knowing when to move and when not to. This taps into nervous system awareness. Hair is highly sensitive, it teaches alertness without panic and movement without burnout. So it will have a cycle of burst and rest. Hair does not run endlessly, it moves in a burst, which beautifully mirrors ascension. Ascension is not constant growth, but waves. Now, hairs appear across many cultures and deserve to be spoken about with respect, not assumption. Now, we spoke a little bit about African folklore and how they are perceived in many southern African traditions, and the hair is seen as intelligent, strategic, and even a problem solver, not this reckless trickster as we've been shown. But clever with timing, so trickster in a different sense of knowing how to use its abilities. European and pagan traditions, hares are strongly connected to Ostara, fertility, rebirth, and seasonal cycles. Some stories suggest a bird transformed into a hare, laying eggs in gratitude, which may be where the Easter hare imagery originates from. But again, stories vary by region, so honoring multiple versions really matters here. They are also connected to the moon. Hairs are often associated with the lunar phases, they are seen in lunar markings across cultures and connected to feminine cycles. So again, we have that rhythmic timing. And for me, hair energy, hair energy feels like a question. What or where am I rushing without intention or awareness? And also, where am I holding back when it's actually time to move? They're a great reminder for me. Just because something is moving fast, it doesn't mean it wins. And just because something moves slow, it doesn't mean it is behind. So I invite you to take a moment, and if you are seeing hair or hair is coming up for you, or you are wanting to work with this spirit guide, reflect with hair frequency. And where in your life are you sprinting out of habit, not alignment? And where are you being questioned to trust your instinct instead of forcing timing? Just like the hair trusted to observe first and then with more information, go up towards the well. And lastly, what would it feel like to move when it's right? Not just when it's fast and high frequency moving. What would it feel like? See, hair does not question you to slow down forever. Hair is asking you to move with awareness. Hair medicine, I've noticed, is quite subtle. It's quick, instinctual, and incredibly precise. And it doesn't stay too long. But when it appears, it will change how you move. If this episode found you, you are already in motion. Thank you so much. Until our next Anca and Ascension animals, I appreciate every single one of you.
