Fabien Baron: She said, I want to do the most beautiful magazine in the world.

Cynthia True: She defined Nineties fashion. She was Princess Diana's mentor, Grace Coddington's best friend, Anna Wintour's biggest rival. 

Dennis Golonka: In 1992, Vogue was, as now, fashion's global bible.

Cynthia True: But an upset was in the offing. The long-comatose Harper's Bazaar was about to be revived.

Dennis Golonka: And the person hired to reinvent Bazaar was none other than Anna Wintour's former right-hand and polar opposite, Liz Tilberis.

Cynthia True: And many fashion insiders predicted no one would dare work for Liz's Bazaar.

Dennis Golonka: But then Linda Evangelista shocked the industry by saying yes to appearing on Liz's first cover. And suddenly no magazine mattered more than Bazaar, the hip alternative to Vogue. And no one was more celebrated than its charming editor-in-chief.
