Vegans Talking Shit
Vegans are a controversial, much-maligned group, but we're all just regular human beings who live, love, and laugh. And man, can we talk shit. Join Jon, Vanessa, and Joey as we talk shit about what it's like to be vegan. Every week, we'll be talking shit about a different topic related to living a vegan lifestyle; the good, the bad, and the ugly. But since we seem to be completely incapable of staying on topic, we also talk shit about music, movies, comic books, and anything else that might come up during the conversation. So tune in to Vegans Talking Shit, available weekly on Apple Podcasts, Amazon, Spotify, YouTube, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Tofu Trio sits down with the simple goal of reading listener emails, but once again, they prove that staying on track is not their strong suit. After spending roughly the length of an entire show talking about absolutely everything else, they collectively decide that the mailbag will have to wait. Instead, the episode kicks off with a breakdown of the World Cup. Jon is fully swept up in tournament fever, while Joey proudly admits he hasn't watched a single second of it. Joey does chime in to mention he prefers women's soccer, which naturally pivots the group into an awkward debate about male versus female athletes. Just as things settle down, Jon drops an unexpected bomb by claiming Vanessa almost got into a physical brawl while watching a game, forcing Vanessa to jump in and immediately set the record straight. From there, the podcast turns into a parade of charity marketing. Joey gives a shoutout to Zevia soda, and Vanessa follows that up by plugging the Beyond Immerse line of protein drinks for the third time in show history. For good measure, they throw in a third unsolicited recommendation for the Yuka app. Finally, Joey recaps his experience at the Florida Supercon comic book convention, where he tracked down and bought a Holy Grail item. The show wraps up with Joey sharing his encounter with H.H. German, the brilliant creator of Calico, the first vegan antihero in comics and manga. It's the perfect end to an episode that proves that not all superheroes wear capes, some just refuse to wear leather.

Hey everybody, welcome to Vegans Talking Shit. I'm Joey. I'm John.
SPEAKER_01I'm Vanessa.
SPEAKER_03And it's been a while since we've gotten together to record an episode, and a lot has happened, including the World Cup. We were literally talking about it just now until Vanessa said, Joey, shut up. Let's talk about this during the episode. So this episode is actually going to come out almost a day or two after we're recording. So that works out beautifully. Uh so I haven't watched a single game of World Cup. I've just heard things. I'm not a World Cup guy unless it's women's soccer, because I love Team USA's women's team. But other than that, I have really nothing to say other than better luck next time, USA.
SPEAKER_01I have to say to you guys that I didn't say Joyce, shut up. I'll never say that. I'm too nice. And Joy is always say like that. No, I'm not so nice, but the Joy is nice, so I I can't say shut up for him.
SPEAKER_03As often as you've made me dinner, yes, you are very, very nice.
unknownNot really.
SPEAKER_01Not really. That's my husband for you. And I'm nice, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, very happy wife, happy life. So, what do you guys have to say about the World Cup since you've probably actually watched it?
SPEAKER_01John have a lot to say because he's really insanely crazy about it.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01I I can't say that it's like hockey, but it's not far away the way that he he wow he's watching all the games.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't I don't know how you can't be a fan of the World Cup. Uh I'm a fan of the women's team. The the Yeah, but Joey they actually win. But I don't understand that. I think it's only won four World Cups. Joey, Joey, you haven't even you haven't watched any of these matches.
SPEAKER_03I I did watch when Italy won in 2006, I believe.
SPEAKER_02I watched that. That was a long time ago. I don't know. I've gotten I've gotten swept swept up with it. It's uh you know, someone said it a while ago, like real uh sports is the best reality television in the world. I mean, it really is the drama behind it.
SPEAKER_03And if you want drama, watch the WNBA. WNBA is so full of drama.
SPEAKER_02Like seven people watching, that's my problem with it.
SPEAKER_03I'm one of the I'm actually at the league pass.
SPEAKER_02And actually, I'm gonna like there's nothing like I don't want to get into this like gender talk, but like I'm gonna watch the best in the world, and the best in the world at their sports are men, it just is what it is.
SPEAKER_03But if I will bet you a billion dollars that the women's national team in soccer would beat the men's national team, Joey, you would lose so bad, you would lose a ton of money.
SPEAKER_02They would they only a billion, it would demolish them, it wouldn't even be close. I disagree.
SPEAKER_01The the problem is you don't know sports.
SPEAKER_02That's true.
SPEAKER_01I think they are really good, but unfortunately you can't compare you can't compare the strongest woman, women, with the weakest men in like uh body resistance, all that stuff, unfortunately, power. Uh there I saw research about that because sometimes people think if you get like a really you know women, like a boxer or whatever, and put against a uh a weak man, they could be able to beat an app.
SPEAKER_03I think that Rhonda Rousey would beat the crap out of me.
SPEAKER_01Uh Joey, no, there is real research.
SPEAKER_02Well no, Rhonda Rousey doesn't know who Rhonda Rousey is. Rhonda Rousey would beat the shit out of Joey.
SPEAKER_01Rhonda Rousey is a UFC fighter, but because you guys are, you know, it's not these I'm trying to compare. I know when you're trying like a power and the strongest.
SPEAKER_02No, you're right. And that's why when we compare. That's why when trans women will or trans men, I I don't, I don't know, I don't understand the whole trans world, so I might be clearly saying it wrong. But when a trans person com and and and it was born a man competes in women's sports, they win a lot. And it's they have a clear, they have a clear advantage because they're different and they're they're made bigger and they're made stronger, and it just is what it is, it's genetics. Um but back to the world cup. Um, there was uh I was I I watched some like short today, and there are they were comparing how many people watch the Super Bowl versus how many people watch the World Cup. It was over it. Well, there is 1.2 billion more people that watch the World Cup versus the Super Bowl. It's insane. The re and the you see it in the fans' faces and and the players when they lose, um, when they've lost in these knockout rounds, uh, the rounds of 32, the rounds of 16, these these players have collapsed. All of them are crying, not all of them, but a lot of them are crying. Their fans are so devastated because their whole lives are waiting for these four years, and especially if you get a team that isn't like a powerhouse team, like like Switzerland lost last night to Argentina, yeah. And there were some controversial calls, and uh they're in the final eight. And Switzerland never gets that far. Not that Switzerland's like a poor country or anything, they're a very rich country, but they never, they're not a big soccer powerhouse. And just for them to get that far meant so much to these players, to these to the entire population, to the entire country. Like it's so much bigger than one Miami Heat championship or one Chicago Cubs championship, you know, a baseball team. It's it is so it's like life to these people. And Vanessa could speak on it being from Brazil.
SPEAKER_01I mean, their entire lives are countries like uh celebrate since in the beginning. The streets are colorful with flags all over, with uh they paint the floors, every single restaurant, every single store, everywhere you go, is everything about the World Cup. It's it's something I never I never had this feeling because I'm believing for a few years here. I kind of like uh forget about it because the last World Cups I watched it, I was here. And this time I was in Brazil, and I realized, oh my god, that is the way we celebrate, you know, it's just so different. And I kind of like what's sad because like John, I think he would enjoy it a lot because he likes this, and the way that the Brazilians get together, the companies stop, everybody nobody works in the the during the time of the Brazilian games, everything stops, everybody goes watch together and come back to work, you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Americans have no idea, but I think it's it's so much deeper than just me saying that. And I think it's because you know the Americans, the biggest professional sports leagues are here. You have all these basketball teams, all these NFL football teams, all these baseball teams, all these hockey teams, and then soccer or football is our fourth biggest sport. These other countries don't have professional leagues, or if they do, it's very lower level. They they come here to play in almost every professional league, except uh if it's Khali, right?
SPEAKER_01If you hear her, you hear Khaleesi.
SPEAKER_02But it's just it's it's just so insane to me because it's not just Brazil, it's Brazil, it's Argentina, it's Ecuador, it's it's the entire South America, it's entire Central America, it's every African country, you're across all almost all European countries where soccer is number one, like it's not even close, right?
SPEAKER_03You know about the Scottish, there's like some Scottish organization that's down that I don't know, they're like practically touring the country.
SPEAKER_02Joey, they all are. That's what I'm saying. If you if you watch these games, the amount of fans for these they're filling NFL football stadiums. The cheapest, like the cheapest seat yesterday in Miami for the it was the Norway England game. The cheapest seat was $2,200. All of these fans are from England and Norway. They're traveling, they've been here for like three weeks, going from Miami to Dallas to LA. It's insane. And Norway and England are obviously not like um four countries, right? They're they're doing this if it was an Ecuador game, if it was all um, if it was um Mexico, it didn't matter what countries all these fans are are are um traveling around like crazy. It just means so much to them, and to um for me, I'm easily swept into it. Like it is the most the greatest reality TV I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_01Like, um I don't care about sports, but when the real likes it, I like it.
SPEAKER_02Well, Brazil's got a good team. Well, Brazil's lost, Brazil's already bad again, Joy.
SPEAKER_01Joey, we are not good for a while. We just have babies playing. The guys are is we don't see football like we used to see growing up. Uh unfortunately, we don't have really good players anymore. You know, they are they are all sold to Europe, and I really believe they lost their Brazilian ways because they are not Brazilians anymore. They they are they go too young to Europe, live there, play the way that they want they play, you know, and they lost the dancing Brazilian ways, you know. Yeah, when you watch them play in the the past, you can see they basically they basically were dancing with the ball in their their feet, but not anymore. And was very frustrating because John made me John made me go to Miami watch the last Brazilian game against Norway. Okay, the sun was insane. We went that uh what's so hot here.
SPEAKER_02We went to uh we went to the FIFA fan fest. So every big city has like these FIFA fan fests, they have it by Bayfront Park in Miami. It was actually pretty cool, except for it was really hot, yeah. And it's been super hot lately. They have it set up so it's like a big concert almost like there's TVs everywhere. It's it's a big soccer or football, as they say, fest. And we went and watched it on this big screen TV. Ton of Brazilian fans, a few Norwegian fans, not that many. Um, and Brazil got smoked by Norway, and then Vanessa almost got no smoke, smoke, smoke and not jump.
SPEAKER_01They lost pretty bad, they did lost pretty bad, two to one.
SPEAKER_02They lost. I think it was three to one at the end of the two to one.
SPEAKER_01They scored at the end, so don't don't don't make worse.
SPEAKER_02Well, they it doesn't matter, they lost so, but but there was two games that day. There was the uh Norway-Brazil game, and then at night it was the Mexico England game in Mexico City, which is insane, like it's absolutely insane, Joey. Like to think about it.
SPEAKER_03You just kind of glossed over something. Vanessa almost got into a fight.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna I'm gonna get to you know, we're watching on these big screen TVs, and like for the afternoon game, it was the Brazil-Norway game, and then again, the Mexico game was after, and uh so near the end of the game, the Mexico fans were coming to get good seats for their game, and um it was nearly it was almost at the very end of the Brazil game, and Brazil uh it was like the final whistle, and Brazil scored the you know a meaningless goal to make it two to one, and all of a sudden I see some guy next to Vanessa push for you for you on video push or punch, he punches the guy in front, the guy in front, and then I see Vanessa just swearing in Portuguese, and I don't know what's going on, I don't know who Vanessa's swearing at, and then the guy from in front is like reaching over, you know, back next to Vanessa and like you know, punching. I'm like, what the hell's going on? But he wasn't punching Vanessa, it was the two guys fighting, and Vanessa was just John and Satu try taking me out from there.
SPEAKER_03Come here, come here, and like no, I'm prepared because if I was involved in it, you wanted to get in the rumble.
SPEAKER_01If the guy needed help, I'm gonna kick this guy in front of me.
SPEAKER_02So the backstory is this Mexican fan, which I didn't see because I was so into the Brazilian game, he every time Norway the Brazilian fans were so downtrodden because they're about to lose, and the Mexican fan was just talking shit to all these Brazilian fans, including the guy next to Vanessa, including Vanessa, and some Brazilian fan next to Vanessa just was tired of it and he hit them. And Vanessa was happy about it, and yeah, yeah, I was super happy about it.
SPEAKER_01I have to explain. I don't like you know violence, that's why I'm a vegan. But some people sometimes they need gas.
SPEAKER_02You like violence against humans sometimes, yes.
SPEAKER_01I am uh because this thing was clearly an ass. And if the guy was from Norway, we could understand his cheering for his his team, you know. The guy was a Mexican with his Mexican family, and every single time that anything happened, and when the goals happened, he really turned to us and said, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He wasn't his team wasn't even playing, that's why it was both.
SPEAKER_01I really look to Virginia that was next to me, and I say to her, I really would love punching this guy in the face.
SPEAKER_03Well, he was being antagonistic.
SPEAKER_01He was, and pretty bad, was that a little bit, and looking to me, looking to the guy that was based next to me, and I was like, I really and I say two times to Virginia, I really would love to punch this guy on the face. So, Brazilians, we don't have maturity to be in the mix, uh, you know, people cheering for others in the same place, put us apart. We are not like so, you know, evoluted like that, evolved in the evolved like that. Brazilians are not, so and this guy was not even from Norway, he was speaking Spanish in front of us, and for we believe he was a Mexican because had a Mexican, uh you do have like a Mexican game in a few hours, you know, and Spanish with his family. Yeah, they were yeah, I think yes, oh yeah, they were we as soon Neymar made a goal, the guy next to me really standing and punching him on the head and say, laugh now, so I couldn't, I started laughing like crazy, and I was preparing myself to help my Brazilian friend next to me, right? And John and Sato, all desperate, and Virginia making a video, you know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, did she record it? Did she have it on video?
SPEAKER_01She recorded, but she didn't record the main punch, you know. Okay, she didn't record that part. I know it's pretty bad by violence and blah blah blah. But this guy learned, never do that again, right? You learn his lesson.
SPEAKER_03I did not expect to hear that story.
SPEAKER_01Okay, what's interesting?
SPEAKER_03Are are we done with uh World Cup talk or no? Is there more?
SPEAKER_01I think so.
SPEAKER_03Because I don't want to get into my thing until I'm never done with it, but well, and how long, how what what is it like another week, two weeks?
SPEAKER_02Uh I think next weekend is the championships in New York. Okay. But they yeah, they're down to four teams, they're down to France, Spain, England, and Argentina, which is interesting. It's it's like actually, it's a top four teams ranked in FIFA.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so the one through fourth seeds, okay. Yeah, um, which is interesting. My weekend, I didn't watch world. You know what? Before I get into that, I want to give a free plug to this new soda that I found called Zivia. Zivia, it's Stevia con what it's no, it's look, I've been trying to find a healthy, healthy, I'll put in quotes, uh, soda. I know you have the beyond immerse, Vanessa, and I haven't found it anywhere. Where do you get well?
SPEAKER_01I'm sending you right now because Virginia sent me is buy one, get one free. I'm sending the link to you right now. You buy directly from then, and I just bought again, okay? Because that's protein, it's good. I'm sending to you right now.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. Uh, but I found this soda called Zevia, and um, for those on video, you can see I'm holding up the can, but it actually uses the word vegan on the can. It says vegan on the can. Interesting, non-GMO, kosher, and uh no artificial colors, uh, zero sugar, no artificial sweeteners, because stevia is a natural sweetener, yeah. And so it's a it's a soda, but it's clear, but it it is soda, it's just that soda has artificial colors. This is yummy, so I love this. This is my new addiction, and it's healthy-ish. So, what do you cause say about you guys put it down as good?
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's good. Yeah, that's all the yuca say about my beyond immersive.
SPEAKER_03I never saw that's oh, but if if you can says that it's bad, I'm not going to say anything.
SPEAKER_01I'm I'm kidding. Okay, I you say, but I will drink all what I have. Oh no, good. Okay, why don't you guys why don't you tell the uh our listeners what you're talking about as far as you well I say before, uh, but you you can say John, you have been drinking a lot of this.
SPEAKER_02Also, no, no, not beyond immersive. I'm talking about Yucca. Oh, the Yucca app.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the Yuka.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the Yuca app, it's this pretty cool app that uh it has a scanner so that if you scan food or beverages, if you scan the barcode, it'll tell you whether it's excellent, good, bad. Uh it and it lists the ingredients and the reasons why it's bad, uh, the reasons why it's good.
SPEAKER_02And it is not a it's not a vegan app, right?
SPEAKER_03It's just no, not necessarily. Um, but yeah, if you scan a barcode using that app, it'll tell you what the ingredients are, including like you know, whenever it says natural flavors or an artificial flavors, uh, you're not that company isn't required to say what those flavors are, but the Yuca app will tell you what they are, but it also gives you a score on the right. It gives you a score.
SPEAKER_02Showed one that was 65 out of 100, right?
SPEAKER_03Right, and it goes excellent, uh, good, bad, uh, poor. So, yeah, it's a pretty good app. And I was surprised to see that Zevia got a good.
SPEAKER_00That's good.
SPEAKER_03Whereas Coke Zero would be bad. And I love Coke Zero, but you know, how about your other water you drink?
SPEAKER_02What is that?
SPEAKER_03Hint hint water, is it good on Yucca too? It's excellent on Yucca.
SPEAKER_00Wow.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, my hint water is excellent, and so is the bubbly, because for uh carbonated uh flavored that for flavored carbonated water, I drink bubbly, and that also gets an excellent in Yucca. Okay, but anyway, so I was gonna tell you about my weekend.
SPEAKER_01I can imagine that you have so much to tell us about.
SPEAKER_03So there's a comic book convention this weekend called Florida Supercon. It happened in Miami Beach, and I spent more there than I've ever spent at a convention in my entire life. And I'm not including like hotel, the ticket. As far as the stuff I bought at the convention, I spent the most I've ever spent.
SPEAKER_01Can I ask how much? Or not? If you're the ones that take a guess, take a guess. I don't know, five five thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_03Oh, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, I'm not crazy. I'll just You the the one big ticket item that I bought that basically is the one thing I bought that took me to that point where it's like the most I've ever spent. This here is a CGC graded 9.8, the new mutants number 98. This is for those of you who are listening, or even those of you who are watching this on video, uh if you're a comic book geek, you know the significance of this. This is the first appearance of Deadpool. Deadpool's my favorite Marvel character. And this was not cheap, but this was a holy grail item for me. For me to buy this, something I've always wanted. Deadpool's first appearance. The comic book came out in uh in 1990, December of 1990, I believe. So it's what 30 36 years old. How much was it? 2000.
SPEAKER_01How much do we spend Joy? We're curious now.
SPEAKER_03I it was $1,000, uh, which is actually below value.
SPEAKER_02It's like I mean he might make money out of it if you ever sell it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, yeah, I definitely will because I want to sold this stuff, you know.
SPEAKER_03Well, uh, I mean the thing is, like, yeah, this is this is special.
SPEAKER_01Hey, you're the one sal.
SPEAKER_02How much how much is your collection worth? Do you think if you had a ballpark it? Actually, you know what?
SPEAKER_03I have an app that'll tell me. Oh, because you have it all you have it all listed already. I do. I have this app like you scan the barcode of each comic book that you buy, and it goes and it kind of like organizes everything for you and says what the value is and all that. You have them all already on there. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like this is this is your collection.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Oh, actually, no, that was just my Marvel comp my well, anyway.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_03So clicking on statistics. I currently have my comics are valued at 23,000 and I paid five thousand.
SPEAKER_01Wow, well, that's a good, uh, good increasing, you know.
SPEAKER_02Well, maybe Vanessa, depending on the case.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, maybe because it might yeah, how many years you have this? That's true.
SPEAKER_03I had this app for about two years.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, your collection with your collection. You started collecting when you were a kid, right?
SPEAKER_03Um, yes and no. Uh, when I went to film school full sale in Orlando, I sold my entire comic book collection so I could pierce my tongue. It was stupid, you know, it was really stupid, and those comics were very valuable. And so I when I started collecting again, I had to start from scratch.
SPEAKER_02So I would say stuck how 29 years 25 years at least, right?
SPEAKER_03Uh, it was like 97, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so 30 years or so.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah. Um, so oh, and another thing, I have to give a free plug to uh calico. I don't know if you guys remember a couple of yeah, about a couple months ago when I went to um megacon in Orlando. Yeah, I was telling you about the vegan superhero, well, technically vegan anti-hero calico. Oh well, so he's the vegan uh anti-hero, and here's some of the artwork for those of you on video. I think the artwork is pretty fantastic. Um so I actually saw the uh the creator of his name is HH German. I hope I'm pronouncing it correctly. H H German. So I saw him at Florida Supercon, and I'm like, dude, I remember you. I saw you at MegaCon, and he kind of vaguely said, Are you the one I Googled? blah blah blah, and I was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he actually remembered me. So I'm having this conversation with this guy, vegan comic book creator. He created a vegan superhero, anti-hero, whatever. Anyway, so he just put out because I also bought the second trade paperback, but this one is very recent, came out just a couple of weeks ago. Wow, yeah, the third trade paperback. The artwork really is beautiful. Um, I'll show again on video, even though it's kind of sure.
SPEAKER_01You didn't invite him for the podcast?
SPEAKER_03That okay, funny story. So this guy, H H German, I have to say I like his work a lot. Um, he he uses different artists um to do the covers and all that, but I want to make sure I get the names right. But for the most part, the uh oh wow, I didn't he put it okay. Anyway, it written by Mike Barron, H H German, art by Renato Pinto. You have covers by Klaus Jansen. Klaus Jansen's a big deal. Um, he okay, sorry, I'm getting sidetracked. Um, so anyway, uh, I really like his comic book a lot. I love his superhero. The comics are super violent, so not for everybody, but if you're vegan, you will appreciate it because the people that this character Calico is violent against, you'll be very pleased.
SPEAKER_01I mean the animal abusers exactly.
SPEAKER_03So uh I went with my friends Arnie and Shane to the comic book convention, and uh so Shane was he kind of did his own thing, he wanted to meet Kevin Eastman, he was uh one of the creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and so Arnie and I kind of did our own thing, and we saw this guy, H H German, from uh you know the Calico creator, and I was like, you know, after I said hello and all that, Arnie he said, look, let me tell you something about this guy, Joey. This guy, he's really shy, he won't tell you, but I'm gonna tell you he has a podcast, and I was like, Oh god, you know, I was cringing because I'm I'm just like not into being that I don't know, I'm not an extrovert at all, but Arnie's a good dude, so I kind of opened the door, and then I told the guy, and he did say that he was interested in being on the podcast. So maybe one day we will have him on the podcast. Did you get his yeah, yeah, yeah. He gave me his business card and all that. Uh he seemed he seemed very cool about it, and yeah, so we'll see. We'll see.
SPEAKER_02So is that is that character like a Dexter for vegans? I would say so, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Huh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know the show Dexter, Vanessa.
SPEAKER_01I I know, but I never really watch it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Dexter was set in Miami, so yeah, yeah. It's still going on.
SPEAKER_01So, guys, even though I'm a little bit violent, I don't like anything violent. Even the label, you know, they've been the level.
SPEAKER_03I think Dexter came back, right? Yeah, well, they had like a like a revival of what's it called Dexter Resurrection, something like that. Yeah, but then they brought it back again, then they brought it back, they brought it back like twice. Okay, yeah. I I oh wait, I forgot to mention this. Uh, when I bought the the the trade paperbacks of calico, the guy H H German was nice enough to include wow, the little cat he's holding a little kitty. Yeah, I don't know if the cat's dead, but if the cat's dead, calico definitely got some revenge.
SPEAKER_01He can see for the way that he's looking trying to carry the the animal. You can see like he cares about it, you know. It's uh yeah, so for those comic book now, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So if you're interested, you just go ahead to sigma comics.com, s-i-g-m-a-c-o-m-i-c-s.com, sigma.com to get your calico comic books. I strongly recommend it as a comic book geek. I'm a huge fan. I it's not, I mean, the fact that it's a vegan anti-hero is awesome, but it's just quality writing, great artwork. I really, really like it, so I strongly recommend it.
SPEAKER_01Are you looking the Instagram right now, Kali? Okay, so maybe can add him, and uh, we can put the the website in our in the description, no?
SPEAKER_03Absolutely, yeah. Yeah, because it's not me that do that, so I yeah, this is a like I said, it is extremely violent. Like he even has in the comic book it's mature readers 17 the age 17 and older, so it's it's violent stuff, it's not for Vanessa doesn't know if she wants to include it.
SPEAKER_02I could see her face.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not a finder.
SPEAKER_03Kali cool, no well try sig try sigma comics.
SPEAKER_01Sigma Comics.
SPEAKER_03S-I-G-M-A comics Sigma Comics.
SPEAKER_01It's this one.
SPEAKER_03Yes, that's it. Okay, and hey Vanessa, he may be an interesting contact because don't you remember we have a certain comic book story we'd like to uh get published?
SPEAKER_01It would be amazing. Oh, look, he's here.
SPEAKER_03It was a long time ago. It'd have to update uh significantly. Well, yeah, that was that was me at Florida SuperCon.
SPEAKER_01Uh so it was money well spent, I feel so you have fun, that's the most important part. So I do went by yourself this time, or your friends were there too.
SPEAKER_03Oh, for today, yeah. No, the thing about going on Sunday, uh the reason you want to go on Sunday is because since that's the last day of the convention, um everything like all the vendors want like they they want to get rid of their stuff, so they drop their prices significantly. Oh so yeah, I I I went, but I mean, after after buying the first appearance of Deadpool, it's like maybe I should just why you got a you got a hotel room there? No, no, no. This is it's a Miami Beach. So I oh you said you said hotel or something.
SPEAKER_02I thought you said hotel.
SPEAKER_03Oh well, what I was just trying to say was it it was the most money I've ever spent, you know, not including what I've paid for. The hotel and uh yeah, like when I went to Orlando, MegaCon, oh the hotel was was I spent way too much at that hotel. It was a nice hotel, but I mean, Jesus, it was I should have put more of the money at the convention, not the hotel.
SPEAKER_01Plus bright line, plus all everything else, you know. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Did you take the bright line there?
SPEAKER_02To Orlando, no, no, no, sorry, to Miami, to Miami.
SPEAKER_03No, I mean it going on because we Arnie Beach. Yeah, I mean, in the morning, it's it's yeah, Miami Beach is tough. Yeah, yeah, but and it's the thing is I don't like to be there too late. Unfortunately, when I went with uh Arnie and Shane, they were on the same wavelength, they were like, Yeah, let's not leave late. So um we go there as soon as they open, actually before they open, so it's less crowded, and then uh there's no the traffic is still this isn't too bad going there and then coming back. It's it's worse, but it isn't like you know, leaving there at night. I was a little worried because I knew that there was a game, uh a World Cup game, but fortunately it that didn't affect anything.
SPEAKER_02Well, that wasn't today, that was yesterday, right?
SPEAKER_03But I'm saying yesterday was uh yeah, yesterday was was the big day. That's when I spent all that money and yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay, we understand.
SPEAKER_03Hey everyone. So uh as you may have noticed, uh, this is going pretty long. We haven't even got to the the whole point of the episode, which was to read emails from our listeners. So we're gonna end it here, and we will get into the emails from our listeners in the next episode. So for vegans talking shit, I'm Joey.
