Human Alchemy
Human Alchemy is a podcast focused on people who have trained themselves to go from ordinary to exceptional.
Alchemy is the mystical practice of turning lead into gold and we speak to people who have managed the human equivalent. While there is a focus on performance, the podcast focuses on the moment or phase of change where someone starts to become something else and dives into how it was achieved.
Every now and then there will be an episode focused purely on one topic which will be called a 'Ross Examination' (For those early listeners you'll be familiar with the name) where I'll try to focus in on the key performance drivers of said topic.
Enjoy!

Ash Dykes is a Welsh explorer and world record holder, and we have the pleasure of hearing about his remarkable journey from chip shop worker to world-leading adventurer.
Ash is known for taking on solo expeditions in remote and dangerous locations, including crossing the ridiculously treacherous Madagascar, being the first to follow the full length of the Yangtze River and undertaking the first solo and unsupported journey across the Gobi Desert. Over these journeys, he has had to make life or death decisions and maintain physical and mental focus that some of us could only dream of.
The episode breaks down what his experiences can tell us about staying effective under pressure, what makes him different and how the hell he got to the desert in the first place. Pushing himself to the absolute limit.
Enjoy.
