Ep 039: From War Zones to Miracles: How One Man Uses Food to Show God’s Love

Sheila Layton Episode 39

When Andre Polonski was growing up in Kharkov, Ukraine, life was already hard. Raised by a single mother battling an undiagnosed illness, poverty was a daily reality. But then, a knock at the door changed everything — missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints introduced his family to a faith community that didn’t just bring spiritual healing… it brought life-saving help.

Years later, as war erupted in Ukraine and families were forced underground, food vanished from shelves — but Andre had a plan. Guided by faith, his mother's wisdom, and his delivery business contacts, he became a literal lifeline. He and a community of believers started distributing food to those in need, using reserves he’d quietly stored for years.

Today, Andre’s mission is clear: God prepares us to be instruments of help and hope — even in the darkest places. Whether in a war zone or a place of peace, God's hand is steady, and His love reaches through us.

Listen Andre’s full story of resilience, miracles, and the quiet ways God prepares us to serve others.
